That night Tanjuro wrote to Yuto and the twins, as well as Sanemi asking how their training was going. Yuto's training had been going very well, he had even created his own Breathing Style called Mist-Breathing. It only had two forms, but as it had only been half a year since he had started training, Tanjuro was very impressed either way.
And as for Sanemi, he was practically ready to take the Final Selection right now. He hoped the nearly 13-year-old would be okay on that mountain. As he sent off his latest letter, Tanjuro lay down with Kie and Rokuta. The three-year-old snuggled into him with a whimper, and Tanjuro hugged the Toddler gently in his arms. He gently stroked his youngest Son's face, "shh Rokuta. Mama and Papa are both right here. Go to sleep baby" he hushed softly.
As he lay in his Futon, the Demon King wondered if he should tell Shizu and his other children about their Older Brother/Oldest Son. He didn't want any of them to worry, but he couldn't deny that not telling them such important information would very well backfire on him. On the other hand, he thought about what they could to tomorrow. Maybe go out for lunch or dinner? Before he became a Demon/Demon Slayer, they barely had money for enough food for all of them. But now, with his pay from his new job, they had plenty of money. He did want to go out tomorrow with his family, since the only time he'd spent with all of them lately had been in this house. He only hoped that things would go well. As Tanjuro closed his eyes to meditate, he smiled, thinking of how excited everyone would be to be able to go out together.

The next day Tanjuro asked his Demons if they wanted to come with them, but the five of them decided to stay in the Love Estate. "We can take care of your Wife and the two toddler's for you" Yukito replied, while Shizu nodded, she and Ume holding a napping Koto and Rokuta. "We'll be fine Mr Tanjuro, you go and have fun with your other kids" Sayuri said. Tanjuro pat the little Demon on the head, "alright. Please look after them for me" he said with a smile. "Come on Daddy! Let's go!" Shigeru cheered, pulling on his arm, while Hiroshi tugged on his other, both smiling wide. "Hiroshi, Shigeru, he's coming. You have to be a bit more patient.
Dad is saying goodbye to the others" Sumi lightly scolded the two younger boys. "Where are Nezuko and Tanjiro?" Takeo asked him. "The two of them are training with Miss Kanae, and Kyojuro today. Even though Tanjiro learned the Hinokami Kagura from me, we both agreed that it would be a good idea for him to learn from an actual Swordsman who knows a similar fighting style" Tanjuro explained. "Oh, okay" the 11-year-old replied with a nod. Tanjuro then turned to the rest of his children, "alright everyone, let's go" he said cheerfully. His Demons waved goodbye, as the group left for the town. Tanjuro had his Sword on him, just in case of a Demon attack.
Hakuji had told him that all of the Lower Rank Demons had been killed by Muzan, and he couldn't sense any Upper Ranks in the area, but the Father didn't want to take any chances with his children with him. Hanako walked with Haruka and Teiko, cheerfully talking about the games they'd played that day. As they walked, Tanjuro noticed that their Kimono were starting to look a bit ratty and small on them. In fact, all of his children's clothes either needed to be sewn up or replaced. However, knowing them, they would deny the offers if he asked. Tanjuro wondered if he should buy their new clothes in secret. He had more than enough money for new clothes for everyone with the pay he got from his job as a Demon Slayer.
There was just the matter of checking their new sizes and buying the clothes without them all noticing. Genya noticed his thoughtful expression, and moved over to the Demon, "hey Dad, what's wrong?" he asked, voice soft enough that no one else heard him over their own conversations. Tanjuro looked over at the 11-year-old. He had been fairly small and scrawny for his age when he'd first met him, due to abuse and lack of a decent amount of food. But the mow hawked boy had since filled out, now the same size as Takeo, and his black Kimono top and pants, as well as his second purple Kimono top was starting to become too small for him, his limbs and torso stretching the tops to the limit, and his Kimono pants as well.
"How would you guys feel about new clothes? You're all really overdue for some, and I have more than enough money from my Missions" Tanjuro asked. Genya looked over his younger Siblings, as well as the kids who were practically an extended family to him now, "yeah, I guess we could all use some new clothes, but why are you acting like this is a secret?" he asked in confusion. "Well, I didn't know if everyone would let me buy new clothes for them, so I was going to try to get some sneakily, but if you think your Siblings won't protest?" Tanjuro asked. "We've never had new clothes before. I think they'd like some" Genya replied with a smile. "Okay then. We'll get some before lunch, unless everyone is hungry already" He decided.

As they reached the town, Tanjuro got everyone's attention with a clap, "alright, what would you all like for lunch?" he asked with a smile. "How about Curry?" Takeo asked. "I would like some Udon, if that's okay?" Teiko asked. "Ooh! Can we have Teppanyaki? Miss Mitsuri said the one here in town is really good!" Shigeru asked excitedly. "I wouldn't mind some Teppenyaki" Genya added. "I don't know, I kind of feel like something lighter, like Udon too" Hanako agreed with Teiko. "Awe, I want Teppenyaki!" Hiroshi pouted, "I really feel like meat today". "I prefer stuff like Curry too" Shuya said, "but not too spicy though". "I like Udon" Sumi said. "What about you Haruka?" Hanako asked. "Um, I guess I like Udon as well" the little girl replied.
Tanjuro counted on his hands, "So Takeo and Shuya want Curry, the girls all want Udon, and Shigeru, Genya and Hiroshi would like Teppenyaki for lunch. Well, why don't we buy everyone's lunch for take-away, then we can find a nice quiet place to eat together" Tanjuro suggested. "Yeah!" Shigeru cheered excitedly. So the family went around town, ordering their food. It took a while for everyone's to be made, and they decided to get Shigeru, Genya and Hiroshi's food last, since it wasn't really 'take-away' food. As most of the children sat eating their lunch, the three boys decided to play tag together. "I wonder what Koto and Rokuta are having for lunch?" Genya wondered, after he came to sit down for a rest.
"Probably rice or something, they're a bit too young to have the more complicated food" Sumi replied, blowing on her noodles, before eating some. "Yeah, it might make them sick" Hanako agreed, "Mom usually just made rice for Rokuta because of that." She explained. Tanjuro looked over everyone eating peacefully, sighing in contentment. He was so glad that his children were all safe and happy. How long would this last though? How long would it be before Demons threatened his children's lives again? The sooner he killed Muzan Kibutsuji, the better everyone's lives would be. His family would be safe. No one would have to die to a Demon again.
Children could live long lives, and die of old age, instead of getting killed young. Humanity would be safe. After lunch, Tanjuro took everyone shopping, buying all of his children new Kimono and Haori. Koto and Rokuta too. He knew that his Demons would need new clothes too, due to how many battles they ended up in. Their clothes were beginning to look more like rags. 'I can bring them tomorrow' Tanjuro thought. After finishing their shopping, the Demon Kamado turned to his children, "alright, is everyone ready to go home?" he asked with a smile. "Yep!" Shigeru said cheerfully.
Tanjuro picked up their bags, and took everyone home. They had been out for hours by this point, and the sun was going down. As the large group walked down the road, Tanjuro suddenly felt a Demon nearby. "Everyone stop!" he ordered. His children paused worriedly, looking around. The Demon Kamado dropped his bags, and pulled out his sword. The children moved closer to him, but Genya, who was carrying Shigeru on his back was slower than the others, and a claw scratched him across the cheek and nose. The boy screamed in pain, the other children screaming in fear too.
"Genya! Big brother!" Sumi screamed, as the Demon grabbed the pre-teen and dragged him into the trees along with Shigeru as he screamed in pain. "Genya! Shigeru!" both Shuya and Hanako cried, reaching for them. 'Damn it!' Tanjuro thought, drawing his sword, "stay together, and don't move from this spot!" he ordered. Then he ran after the Demon who had taken his two Sons. The smell of Genya's blood filled his nose, and Tanjuro flinched. Was Genya a Marechi as well? Shinobu had confirmed that Sanemi was one, when she had run tests on his blood before, but there were no signs of the younger boy being like his Older Brother. Whatever the reason, Tanjuro couldn't focus on that for now. He had to save his Son's!

Shigeru screamed and clung to his adopted older Brother's back to the point that his knuckles turned white, as the Demon dragged them away from their family. "Hold on Shigeru!" the older boy cried, flailing around to try and escape the Demon's hold. His nose stung something fierce, but he was more worried about his terrified little Brother. They soon came to a stop, and the Demon flung them into a tree. Shigeru screamed as the hit dislocated his shoulder. "Shigeru!" Genya cried, turning around to hug the terrified and hurt boy in his arms. He covered his Kamado Brother's head and neck with his arms, looking up with narrowed eyes at the Demon who'd captured them.
It was a skinny and tall male Demon, with dirty brown hair and glowing yellow eyes. He grinned at the two injured boys, licking his lips hungrily, "hmm, not quite a Marechi, but still a very good smelling blood. You'll make a good meal kid". Genya squirmed back against the tree, trying his best not to show his fear, as he clutched Shigeru in his arms, the younger boy sobbing in pain and terror. "Y-you'd better st-stay away f-from us, or our Dad w-will kill you!" he cried, trying to sound brave, but unable to keep the tremble out of his voice. "Heh. I'm not scared of some stupid human. Besides, he'll never find us with how far I've run!" the Demon sneered.
The Mowhawked boy pushed his adopted younger Brother behind him protectively. "I won't let you hurt him! I mean it!" he cried fiercely, narrowing his eyes. He remembered how he had promised his Older Brother that they would protect their family from Demons. Well, now Shigeru was part of his family, and he wouldn't let this monster hurt him! Genya stood up, glaring at the Demon, "I'm warning you! If you come any closer to my little Brother, I'll make you regret it!" he yelled, clenching his fists and forcing his body to stop shaking. He wasn't sure what he was going to do to a Demon, but he sure as hell wasn't about to let him kill his Brother.
"Hah! Whatever! You're just a weak brat! Now die!" the Demon screamed, lunging at him with his claws ready to pierce his chest. Shigeru creamed again, and Genya, in pure desperation to protect him, dodged the attack and bit into the Demon's arm. "What the fuck! Let go you little shit!" the Demon shrieked, kicking him away from him. "Big Brother Genya!" Shigeru cried with tears in his eyes from pain and fear. The boy instinctively swallowed the piece of Demon flesh he'd bitten off, finding it tasted like ash on his tongue. As he swallowed it, he felt a strange sensation go through him. Genya's eyes widened, as a massive surge of strength filled him. Claws grew from his nails, while his teeth became fangs. The whites of his eyes turned black and the tips of his hair turned yellow.
The cut on his face healed into a scar instantly, and he felt a snarl rumble in his chest. But the Demon didn't seem to notice his change, moving towards Shigeru again. Genya growled loudly, leaping at the Demon far faster and with more force than he ever thought possible, "I said get away from my little Brother!" he shrieked, clawing and bitting at the Demon, ripping chunks of flesh out of him, and ending up in a tangle of snarling, furious limbs. Shigeru cried, curling into a ball and covering his face, sure his adoptive Older Brother was being ripped to pieces in front of him. But the only one screaming was the Demon, and Genya was more than holding his own. As he tore him apart, something deep inside him urged Genya to devour more parts of the Demon, ripping into him with his fanged teeth.
Blood splattered everywhere, the Demon screaming in pain and confusion. 'What the fuck?! How is this little fucker eating me?! And he's getting Demonic abilities. What kind of human is he?!' he thought in horror. Finally, after several minutes, the Demon started to disintegrate, his energy for healing depleted. Genya gasped for air, Demon blood all over his body, and his Demonic features still present. That was the scene Tanjuro arrived to. His younger Son crying against the tree, holding his arm. The Demon who'd grabbed him and Genya disintegrating in the dead leaves on the forest floor. And a Demonized Genya, panting from the amount of power running through his veins. Tanjuro had no idea what had happened. But he would do his best for his Son's. No matter what the outcome.
