Taka: Our next stop was Hong Kong. Kari and Mary did some searching themselves with Mary doing some thinking. She thought about how she would like digimon and humans to live peacefully like Kari taught her. She also didn't like all the fighting with a fear of losing Kudamon developing. The two of them found the Server Tower, but crossed paths with MasterTyrannomon. Reppamon got seriously hurt, but Mary got him to digivolve to Chirinmon. She learned that she would rather fight than lose her partner. Now, we're off to Paris. Oh man...
"Last Family Vacation"
"Taka!" Marine called as she entered her home. "Surprised? I managed to get some free time, so I thought I surprise you and we could get something to eat together." She looked around the apartment, but there was no sign of Taka anywhere. "Taka? Are you in your room?" She went into Taka's room and saw something in the bed. "Taka?" She removed the sheets, but saw it was just his pillows. "Where is he?" As she looked around the empty apartment, she wonders where her son could and just hopes he's okay. She was hoping to spend some time with her son, but it looks like that won't be the case...as usual.
...
Paris
"And now we're in Paris. I'm amazed with all the culture." Ben said. "Paris is so rich in history, architecture, and the fine arts."
"Most importantly, there's always romance around here." Yolei said as she could practically smell all the love in the air. "I'm so glad we're here when it's dark. The lights are so beautiful."
"Well, it's technically morning. It's past noon back home, and Paris is about eight hours behind us." Ben said.
"It might be nice, but there's another Server Tower around here. Let's get to work on finding it." Haru said.
"T.K., don't your grandparents live here? Your grandfather did help us out when you, me, Tai, and Agumon were here before." Patamon said. "You think they might be able to again?"
"Patamon, it's past four in the morning here. I can't call and ask them for help now." T.K. said. "I guess we'll just have to do this without them." All of them were all set for that, but something was off with Taka. He looked around Paris and wasn't as happy as the others about being here.
"Taka? Is something wrong?" Ponymon asked.
"No. I'm fine." Taka said, but that didn't really sound convincing.
"Taka, everyone else has split-up." T.K. said as Taka looked around and saw everyone already broke into their groups and searching around Paris. "We should get going ourselves."
"Sure." Taka said and went along with T.K., but what could be bothering him?
...
Haru and Davis
"Let's have a look over here." Davis said. Davis and Haru searched around and soon reached a point where they had such a splendid view of Paris. There was no sign of the Server Tower, but it certainly was an amazing view. "Wow. Look at it out there."
"Yeah. No wonder people love it here so much." Veemon said. "Just imagine seeing a view like this with just the right person." Haru didn't think that much about it, but he was agreeing with Veemon when he looked and saw Kari and Mary coming over by chance.
"Kari! Mary! Over here!" Haru called and invited them over.
"Hey. I thought Kari and I were covering this part of Paris." Mary said.
"I guess we missed something." Haru said. "Hey, Kari... How about you have a look over there with Davis. See if you see anything?"
"Okay..." Kari said as she went on over and had a look with Haru holding the others back. "Hey, Davis."
"Oh! Hey, Kari." Davis said. "Any sign of anything yet?"
"No. Not yet, but... Wow." Kari said as she took a look at the view. "This view is beautiful."
"Yeah. It really is." Davis said as he enjoyed it himself.
"You know, I actually..." Kari was about to make conversation, but then she noticed something off. With how Mary and the others have been giving her a hard time about how she secretly likes Davis, it started to get to her head. She saw how Davis looked in all these lights underneath the Paris night sky and thought he actually looked amazing. She actually couldn't take her eyes away from him.
"Something wrong?" Davis asked.
"No!" Kari said as she looked away from him and was starting to wonder why her face was feeling warm. As for Haru and Mary, they just watched things unfold. As for Davis, he just now realized he's seeing a beautiful view with Kari and was loving it as he tried moving a little closer to her.
"Wow. I can't believe it. She might actually be falling for him." Gatomon said.
"What's wrong with Davis?" Veemon questioned.
"It's Davis." Gatomon said.
"Unreal. We're in Paris, people say it's one of the most romantic cities in the world, and those two are still acting so shy around each other." Haru said.
"At least they're making progress." Mary said. "It's obvious they like each other, but something keeps holding Kari back." While they were talking about it, Mary thought how she's also in Paris with Haru and was blushing herself. "Haru, you wouldn't happen to have anyone special to you, would you?"
"No. Why?" Haru asked.
"Oh... No reason." Mary claimed.
...
Taka and T.K.
"Smart move grabbing this rental." T.K. said as the two of them managed to grab a rental car and were driving around Paris. "We should be able to cover a lot more ground with this. How did you even know about that place?"
"Just did." Taka said as he stared out the window. As they were passing through all the buildings, Taka was having flashbacks about someone that was special to him...and has been having trouble connecting to that person.
"Taka, I can tell there's something bothering you." Ponymon said as he was getting concerned. "It might be easier if you talked about it." Taka knows he should, but he doesn't really feel like talking about it.
"T.K., what do you think is wrong with Taka?" Patamon asked.
"I don't know, but let's not bother him with it if he really doesn't want to talk about it." T.K. said. "We should stay focus on finding that Server Tower."
"And I just did! Stop the car!" Taka called. T.K. pulled over on a bridge and they all hurried out. "Over there! Not that far from the Eiffel Tower!" Taka pointed down to what he saw and they could see the Server Tower right there.
"You're right! There it is!" Ponymon said. "If we can just get closer, Patamon and I can destroy it."
"Right, but what about the digimon? Shouldn't there be one guarding it or something like before?" Taka questioned. He ended up getting what he wished for as something flew right over them and the tailwind threw them for a loop for a moment. All of them looked up and saw it was another digimon and it was heading for the Server Tower. "Me and my big mouth!"
"Come one!" T.K. said as they hurried back inside the car and stepped on it. Hurrying over to the Server Tower, they tried to keep their eyes on the mechanical dragon-like digimon that flew threw the sky. People were in a panic as that digmon just kept swooping down and was causing a panic.
"Talk to us, Ponymon. Who is that digimon?" Taka questioned.
Digimon Analyzer (Ponymon): It's Gigadramon. He's an ultimate digimon with some rather advance equipment. He's a dangerous combination of machine, dragon, and a virus.
"Gigadramon was never the friendliest of digimon, so it's hard to say if he's really acting from the Server Tower." Ponymon said.
"It doesn't matter." T.K. said as he pulled over the car once they got close enough. "He's causing a lot of trouble. We need to destroy the Server Tower and stop him. Patamon, are you ready for a fight?"
"Ready." Patamon said.
"May I?" Ponymon asked.
"Take him down." Taka said with both of them getting their digimon to digivolve.
"Patamon digivolve to...Angemon!"
"Ponymon digivolve to...Unimon!"
Once both of them digivolved, the two of them flew up and tried to stop Gigadramon from causing so much damage. Once Gigadramon spotted them, he went on the attack himself as he fired a couple missiles from his claws. Both of them avoided the attacks, but they did cause some damage to Paris.
"We better finish this fast or else Paris isn't going to look so nice anymore." Taka said as he could see how bad this was going to get.
"Let's go up the Eiffel Tower so we can get a better look on what's going on." T.K. said as he hurried off there, but Taka was a bit hesistent. Still, he went either way.
"Hand of Faith!"
"Aerial Attack!" Angemon and Unimon tried attacking together, but Gigadramon slithered around both attacks and went right at both of them. He flew right at both of them, but they both flew out of his way before he crashed into them.
"He's strong. How are we going to beat him?" Unimon questioned.
"I'm not sure, but we must do something to try and stop him before someone gets hurt." Angemon said as the two of them fought on. As for Taka and T.K., the two of them made their way up the Eiffel Tower until they got to the second platform and could see what was going on.
"Can you tell who is winning?" Taka questioned.
"It's hard to say. They're both holding their own for now, but if they can just take down the Server Tower, everything should be fin." T.K. said. Taka tried to keep his eyes on the fight, but his mind wouldn't stop flashing back to another moment with someone special to him.
'No! Focus, Taka! You can't think about the past when Unimon needs me now.' Taka told himself as he tried to keep his head on straight. Angemon and Unimon kept trying to fight against Gigadramon. Unimon flew right at Gigadramon for a direct attack, but Gigadramon knocked him away with his claws and sent him soaring to the Eiffel Tower. "Unimon!" Taka called in fear he would crash, but Unimon managed to pull himself together.
"I'm okay!" Unimon said.
"Unimon, just destroy the Server Tower!" Taka called.
"We've got to take down Gigadramon first or else there might be a lot of damage done." Unimon said. He looked back at Taka and could tell something was wrong with him. Unimon was worried, but he had to focus on the fight. "Don't worry, Taka. I'll be fine." He said and flew back out there.
"Unimon..." Taka mumbled as he now has another reason to worry. He reached out to Unimon as he didn't want to see him go, but he had another flashback of someone else. "Darn it!" He said and shook his head around. "Come on, Taka. Stay focus." Now T.K. was starting to get concerned about Taka.
"Taka, what's wrong? Something is bothering you. It's been bothering you ever since we got here." T.K. said. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"Really? Is now really the best time for this?" Taka questioned.
"I think it is. Unimon is worried about you, but he needs to keep his focus in stopping Gigadramon." T.K. said. "Unimon needs you here now, but you're too distracted by whatever is bothering you. It might be best to talk about it now and get it off your chest." Taka knew he was right. Unimon needed him now, but he was too distracted by something in the past.
"It's my mother." Taka admitted. "Three years ago, Paris was actually the last vacation we took together. That was before she got her job and became a news anchor. Ever since she got that job, she's been so busy...and we don't really have a lot of time together. Being back here in Paris is just bringing back a lot of memories that seem...so distant."
"I see. You just miss your mother, but she's been so busy with work that you two don't get to spend a lot of time together." T.K. said.
"Yeah. It's always been just me and her, but lately..." Taka said as it did make him rather sad.
"I get it." T.K. said. "You may not know this, but my parents are actually divorced. They have been ever since I was a kid, and Matt and I were separated because of that. I lived with our mother and Matt lived with our father. There were so many times I wished my family could be together again, so many times I wished things could go back to the way they were."
"What did you do?" Taka questioned.
"It was rather hard since I missed Matt and Dad a lot." T.K. said. "I had to eventually accept that my parents weren't going to be together again. Even if they don't, I still have a large family and really caring. Patamon and the others, they became part of my family. I didn't feel so lonely anymore. It might have been just you and your mother before, but now you've got Unimon. Haven't you been less lonely having him around?"
"Unimon?" Taka wondered about that, but he might need to make up his mind soon. Back at the fight, Angemon flew right at Gigadramon to fight, but Gigadramon was ready for him as he fired missiles from his claws and blasted Angemon at point-blank range.
"Angemon!" Unimon called. Angemon fell right out of the smoke and fell to the ground, but Unimon was able to catch him and guide him to land down. It looked like Angemon was down, but Unimon wasn't. He flew straight up at Gigadramon and tried to attack him again, but Gigadramon hit him rather hard with his claw that he ended up crashing against the Eiffel Tower.
"Unimon!" Taka called as that had to hurt rather hard. Unimon took a pretty hard hit and was falling right out of the sky. As Unimon fell, Taka was met with an overwhelming of fear and and anxiety like he was about to lose...a family member. 'T.K. is right. Ever since Ponymon came into my life, I've been less lonely. It's always been me and Mom before. We had so many great times together.' He thought as he remembered those times, and how much fun they had together. When his mother got that job, it hasn't been like that for three years and they seem to have become distant. 'It might not be that way now, but I haven't been so lonely because Ponymon has been with me.' As Unimon fell past them, Taka turned what he felt into action. "He is part of my family, and I'm not losing him!" He declared as he climbed up on the railing.
"Taka, what are you doing?!" T.K. said.
"Unimon!" Taka called as he actually jumped off the tower and dived to his partner. Unimon heard him and saw what he's doing. Once he did, Unimon straightened himself up.
"Taka!" Unimon called and flew straight up at him. As the two moved closer and closer to each other, a new power awakened with Taka's digivice shining from Taka's strong desire to keep his family.
"Unimon digivolve to..." Unimon began to digivolve as his entire form was changing. His mask practically burst off him and enriched him with power as Unimon's black wings turned pure white. "Hippogriffomon!"
Once he digivolved, Hippogriffomon was able to catch Taka and the two of them flew up to the sky together.
"You did it! You digivolved!" Taka said.
Digimon Analyzer: I am Hippogriffomon. I am a fierce ultimate-level digimon. My Sonic Voice is painful on the ears, and my Heat Wave will give you a nasty case of third-degree burn.
"Taka, what were you thinking?" Hippogriffomon questioned.
"I was thinking I didn't want to lose a member of my family." Taka said with Hippogriffomon touched. However, it wasn't over as Gigadramon came at them once again, but it was a different fight as Hippogriffomon was much stronger. Gigadramon fired his missiles right at them again, but Hippogriffomon was ready for it this time.
"Sonic Voice!" Hippogriffomon unleashed a powerful shriek with the soundwaves destroying the missiles. When that happened, it sparked an idea in Taka.
"That's it! We can use Gigadramon to destroy the Server Tower!" Taka said.
"I see where you're going with this." Hippogriffomon said as he flew into position. They waited for the right moment as Gigadramon flew right at them again. He tried to attack them, but they moved out of the way and ended up smashing his claw against the Server Tower. "Now we can send Gigadramon back. Open the gate, Taka."
"I got it!" Taka said as he aimed his digivice and opened a gateway near Gigadramon. When he wouldn't go in on his own, Hippogriffomon put himself in the right position.
"Heat Wave!" Hippogriffomon unleashed a blast of intense heat and blasted Gigadramon with it. It was powerful enough to push Gigadramon inside and send him back to the Digital World. That marks another win for them and another digimon brought back to the Digital World.
"Oh yeah! Way to go!" T.K. called.
"T.K.!" T.K. turned around and saw Cody and Ben showed up and they had Patamon with him.
"Patamon! Are you okay?!" T.K. asked, but Patamon flying over showed that he was.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Patamon said.
"What are you guys doing here?" T.K. questioned.
"It's not exactly hard to miss a digimon brawl in the sky." Swallowmon said. "We all rushed over to see if you needed any help."
"The others are down below, but it looks like there's nothing for us to worry about." Armadillomon claimed.
"It looks like you and Taka had everything under control." Cody said.
"Is that digimon up there really Ponymon's ultimate form?" Ben asked.
"Sure is." T.K. said as he was real impressed with Taka. "Ben, you've known Taka for a long time. Did he ever seem lonely to you?"
"Lonely? Taka?" Ben questioned. "I never really thought about it before, but ever since I went over to his place and found out what his mother does, I... I don't know. I felt kind of bad. Did he say something?"
"It's nothing. I don't think he's feeling like that anymore." T.K. said. Taka was feeling rather good about himself as he rode on Hippogriffomon and could see all the beauty of the lights in Paris with the sun starting to come up.
"Wow... It's beautiful up here." Taka said. "I really wish Mom could see Paris from up here."
"So that's what has been bothering you." Hippogriffomon said as he could see it now. "Taka, you should really talk to your mother. You should tell her that even though you understand she's busy, you miss her and just want to spend more time with her like you did before."
"Yeah, you might be right." Taka said. "Who knows... Maybe one day she and I can come back and make new memories, but right now... I'm glad I'm making these memories with you." He said as he felt like he was with a beloved member of his family.
