As the recharging Mirage was being carried off by a devious bot, Jumper soon arrived at the quarters of Optimus through the secret door. Jumper noticed that the quarters were quiet – too quiet. Jumper searched further and found no evidence of anyone being in the quarters. Jumper commed Red Tide and asked the other minibot who was supposed to be on duty. When Red Tide stated he had left due to low energon and trying to find Sandblaster, Jumper was not very happy. "You should have commed someone" Jumper angrily informed Red Tide. Red Tide profusely apologized, unaware that his leaving left Mirage vulnerable. "Where is Mirage?"
"Last I knew he was going to take a nap" Red Tide stated.
"Where, In the rec room?" Jumper asked.
"No, he told me he was going to his own berth, why?" red asked.
"Because no one is in the quarters and the silent alarm went off" Jumper replied, still upset.
Red felt awful. "I'm on my way" Red stated, hoping this wasn't as bad as it sounded.
Unaware to either, Bee commed Optimus. "Prime, sir, I fear I have bad news for you" Bee uttered through the comm.
Optimus, already feeling like something was off, responded, "what is wrong, Bee?"
"The silent alarm for your room went off, as my systems have indicated as such. Jumper went to check it out, but I fear that this time is not a false alarm as I have tried to comm Mirage and he doesn't respond" Bee revealed.
Optimus was a bit confused. "What do you mean by all of this?" Optimus asked, starting to get upset by all of this.
"Optimus, years ago, when Mirage was a sparkling, he and I created a special comm that only we use, and only when one of us is in trouble. I used this special link, and he didn't respond. He has never ignored this comm before. I fear he is in distress of some kind, but my mate has forbidden me to help as I am sparked" Bee revealed. He hoped Optimus would take this seriously.
Optimus listened carefully to what Bee stated. Optimus was a bit stunned at the sparked part for Bee, but did understand the concern about Mirage. "I understand, Bee. And as much as I would like to go, Ratchet has banned me as well m being involved in anything that might be dangerous. Trusting your call, I plan to send Hide and a few other bots to see what has happened. I wish we could both go, but we both know our mates and the medics would never allow it."
"But, sir, who will guard you and the sparklings with Hide gone?" Bee asked, worried.
"I think the other minibots will be more than enough to handle that job while Hide goes and finds Mirage" Optimus stated, wowing Bee. Bee never realized that thanks to Mirage, Optimus trusted the minibots just as much as Mirage did.
"Thank you, sir" Bee stated and signed off. He was as stunned as he was proud. Now all they needed to do was locate the missing Mirage.
