I'm going to deviate from cannon a little bit since Kalego is still lying in bed from being made a familiar. So, bear with me please!

Also, the teachers aren't dead. Some of them just wish they were after running into Opera. Read to find out why.

To say that Opera got a bit...jumpy once they reached school- would be an understatement.

The second that they were surrounded by other students the cat demon started to draw his sword, and had to be stopped repeatedly, by Ichigo who wasn't going to let him start hacking down people just because they were there.

Thankfully, Opera had better control over himself than he seemed to. So, after being stopped so many times by her, he decided to switch tactics. And instead of killing everyone that made the mistake of wandering too close, he merely rendered them unconscious. Which was...still bad for them, but also a little bit better since they weren't killed.

Ichigo wasn't a fool. She'd learned a long time ago to take whatever victories she could regardless of how small they were.

And with that firmly in mind, she grabbed Opera and politely excused the two of them so that she could get him away from the other students before things escalated even more and the teachers got involved.

Az had been watching Opera wide eyed the entire time he had been attacking people- seemed to understand that something was up, and she wanted to separate the security devil from everyone else before someone really, really got hurt. And was quick to reassure her that he would be fine without her for a bit.

He told her that he would simply see if he could find Clara and check on her and then try to meet up with her again later. Ichigo nodded and told him to meet her at the same place the two of them had played with Clara the day before and then once Az agreed, she dragged Opera off.

A few minutes later, she was hastily pushing the cat demon into the teacher's lounge because she wasn't really sure where else to go- and found herself roughly grabbed and dragged into the room by Opera before the door slammed closed.

After which, Ichigo found herself being pressed against the door by Opera who for some ungodly reason was trying to shield with his body while glaring off to the left of them. It took her a second to manage to see what he was glaring at. But once she saw the other teachers still occupying the room, she had a better grasp of why Opera was so displeased.

His expression was darker than a thunder cloud before a storm, she noted as one of the teachers made the mistake of moving and elicited a warning growl from the cat demon as he narrowed his red eyes at the idiot while another teacher stammered out nervously, "I-Is e-everything okay here?" And looked between the two of them in concern.

"I wish I knew!" Ichigo whined, her distressed tone must have got Opera's attention since the demon turned his head back around to look at her. His expression shifting from his thunderous one to one of affection.

"All will be well, mistress." He said very softly in her ear, causing her to do a weird full body twitch as her face flamed.

Opera gave her a quick jaw nuzzle, which she was sure was supposed to be comforting but felt a bit less like comforting and more like he were doing something naughty to her. And then he was gone and all she heard was a bunch of panicked screaming coming from the teachers across the room.

Ichigo wasn't ashamed to admit that she hid her face in her hands to avoid seeing an excessive amount of blood. After all, while she wasn't sure what Opera was doing per se, she was at least fairly sure that he wasn't going to murder the teachers.

He would probably maim them, sure. But not outright murder them.

That would not only upset her grandpa but create more work for him. And she was at least somewhat certain that Opera was aware of that fact even if he wasn't exactly keeping it at the forefront of his mind right then.

All too soon, the screaming stopped, and Opera reappeared, startling her enough to remove her hands from her face as she blinked up at him.

He had blood spattered on his face and was looking entirely too pleased with himself as he gently took hold of one of her hands and then tugged her away from the wall so that he could lead her over to the mass of tangled limbs and piled up bodies that used to be a bunch of Babyls teachers, and gently pushed her down onto someone's stomach to sit.

There was a groan from the person that she was sitting on, and she blanched and jumped at the pained sound as Opera knelt at her feet and stared at her adoringly as he lifted the hand that he was still holding to his lips and pressed a kiss to her knuckles.

Ichigo wasn't sure how much more of things like this she could take, her heart was beating so fast that it almost felt as if it were trying to punch its way through her ribs.

But she was fairly sure that incidents and fiascos like this one would inevitably kill her.

While Opera finally stood up again and let her know that he was going to secure the slaves. Whatever the hell that meant. And she wasn't to so much as leave her 'chair' for any reason without his expressed approval.

Ichigo was terrified right then of disobeying him, so she merely nodded her head mutely and tried not to break down crying as he smiled at her and then turned and walked off.

As it turned out, the 'salves' that Opera had been talking about had been a couple of female teachers that had been present for the...uh...slaughter? But hadn't had the misfortune to be turned into living pretzels for the sake of making a throne of bodies for her to sit on.

No- in some ways, the women had it much worse.

For starters, while Opera went around the room fortifying it from possible 'attackers' they were to being forced to wait on her hand and foot despite the fact that they didn't want to.

Ichigo tried to reason with him and found herself being pointedly ignored when she tried to convince him to release the women from their servitude. The only reason she knew that he had heard her was the fact that he had sent her a peculiar look.

After which he returned to kneel before her and stayed there just staring at her in an unnerving manner for a while as if he were waiting for something.

A request? An order, maybe? She didn't have the vaguest idea. So, she stayed silent and simply stared back at him, refusing to blink even though her eyes were dry and starting to bother her.

He stared at her a heartbeat longer and smiled again before finally moving closer to her on his hands and knees. His tail flicking behind him as he asked. "Are you comfortable Miss?"

She was started by the randomness of the question and wasn't really sure how to respond. After all, sitting on bruised, and lumpy, breathing flesh wasn't exactly the most comfortable of places to be. Especially when said flesh began to whine and complain about her weight or wanting back up.

Yet Opera seemed totally convinced that it was the most comfortable place in the world for her.

That was obviously the feline in him working it's random and irrational logic. But she wasn't going to point that out to him since she had no idea what he'd do to her if she did.

"Y-Yeah. Very comfy. Thank you, Opera." She hesitantly said. He visibly preened at her praise and sat back on his heels once he was close enough to touch her easily.

"I'm happy that you like it. I beat the males senseless just to make this throne for you."

Ichigo let out a nervous giggle as he reached out and claimed one of her hands from her lap and brought it up to his mouth again as he asked her, "Are you tired?"

"Uh, no." She said, feeling that after today it was going to be a damned miracle if she ever closed her eyes to sleep again.

Opera hummed and rubbed his nose against her flesh, sending shivers down her spine as he asked her another question. This time if she were hungry or thirsty.

It sounded like a loaded question to her. One that would lead to more poor souls being destroyed by him. So, no. She wasn't hungry or thirsty. She was suddenly on a diet. One that would make her the envy of all demon kind with her gorgeous bone structure.

Her grandpa would be so proud!

"Are you cold?" He suddenly asked, pressing her palm against his cheek and holding it there as he studied her.

She was starting to get the feeling that he wanted her to give him a task of some kind. But she wasn't really sure if that was a wise move given how...unstable he seemed right now.

"Uh, no. I'm fine." She replied with a small, anxious looking smile.

"You feel cold." He spoke. "Your hand is cool to the touch."

She looked startled by his words and started to stammer out an apology, but he stopped her by suddenly shrugging off his jacket and using it to wrap her in. All in all, it only took him several moments to do it, but the smile that he gave her once he was done was brilliant enough to steal her breath and make her heart speed up in her chest.

The rest of her day would continue like this.

Being asked random questions off and on by him as he remained close enough to touch her. If it wasn't her hands that he was touching, then it was her legs or feet- which tickled and nearly got him kicked for his efforts. But he learned from his mistake alarmingly quick. And when he wasn't touching her legs or feet, he was standing up and playing with her hair.

On and on it went.

The only real relief that she had was when Az finally managed to find them.

Granted, Opera wasn't exactly happy about Az's presence in the room, but despite that fact, he didn't move to attack him or anything like he had first thing that morning. In fact, he bore his presence with a strangely begrudging attitude.

But she was so, so happy to see her friend Az!

Especially after all of the stress she'd been through within the past few hours. She'd actually began to wonder if her sanity was going to leave her as she waved Az over and quickly hugged him once he was within reach and then refused to let him go even though she might have been choking him a little bit.

Az didn't seem to mind though, in fact he chuckled and made sure to carefully adjust her hold around his neck so that he could sit more comfortably on another one of their teachers with his back against her legs.

Once he was settled in place, Az finally said, "I'm so glad that I've finally found you, master. I got worried when you didn't meet me at the designated place."

"I'm sorry," She said, meaning it. "I've kind of been...monopolized by Opera."

"Yes, I can see that." Az said as he glanced down at the pile of bodies that they were both sitting on before casting a glance at the women teachers, huddled together a few feet away looking very nervous. "You've been busy. Though there are better ways to take over a school Still, this is an interesting turn of events."

"Actually, the carnage is Opera's doing." She said as she pointed at the cat demon. "Apparently he took exception of some of our teachers being alive and well, so he turned them into a throne for me. And then he enslaved the others."

Az got a thoughtful look on his face for several moments before finally muttering, "I see. So that's what happened."

Ichigo leaned over a little bit and whispered in his ear, "Az, I'm freaking out. Do you think you can tell me why Opera is acting so weird? I'm totally lost!"

"Ah," Az said in understanding as he thought for another couple of seconds before finally whispering back, "I think Sir, Opera is acting so strangely because he's courting you."

"Huh?!"
