Hunters P. O. V.
"I don't like this plan" I stood in front of him and said
"We agreed to meet Rex on Bracca. That's what we're doing" I looked up at me with a pleading look and said
"He wants to cut open my head" Tech then said
"All of our heads actually" Omega appeared next to me and said
"Not mine. I don't have an inhibitor chip" she sounded a little too proud at that fact. Wrecker looked between her and me before saying
"Why not? Now, that's not fair" I quickly changed the subject by saying
"How's the chip scanner coming, Tech?" Tech held up the scanner and said
"Since Rex's chip was removed, I am able to establish a baseline by comparing his brain scan to ours. Allowing for the detection of any cellular anomaly" Omega joined us upfront and said
"He means, "It's almost finished."" Wrecker then said
"Do we really have to do this?"
" If Rex is sure, we should trust him" Omega then looked out the window towards Bracca and said
"What is this place?" I replied
"A starship graveyard" Tech then said
"I'm picking up Rex's beacon"
Shortly after we got off the ship, area emerged from the fog
"Right on time" Wrecker then said
"How's a junk planet gonna help us?" We began following Rex as he said
"Follow me. Bracca may not be much to look at, but it has exactly what we need"
Rex P.O. V.
"I had my inhibitor chip taken out on a Jedi cruiser just like that. That's where we're heading" as we climbed the rubble, Wrecker said
"Then why'd we land all the way over here?" I went to answer but was cut off by Hunter saying
"Everyone down" within milliseconds we all hit the deck as a hover platform flew over. I then said quietly
"That's why" tech pulling his goggles down and said
"It's the Scrapper Guild" I then replied
"They control this entire planet. We need to keep out of sight from their patrols. Let's move" we stayed low as we headed towards twelve cruiser
Once we were out of site Echo was walking next to me. I then said
"Fives tried to warn me about the chips, but I didn't understand at the time" he looked down slightly and his voice lowered as he said
"It's still hard to believe now"
"How did you boys find out about them?" He motioned behind his and said
"Omega"
"The kid?"
We then stopped as we got just outside of the ship. Omega stepped forward and said
"Whoa. It's much bigger up close" I stepped up next to her and said
"This is an original Venator-class ship from the first batch off the line" Wrecker pushed my shoulder and said
"First off the line, huh? Just like you, Rex"
Hunters P. O. V.
As we began to walk through the halls of the cruiser, Rex spoke
"The last time I was aboard one of these it didn't end so well" His voice had a twinge of sadness in. Echo then spoke
"If the inhibitor chip isn't something you can control, how'd you get yours out? He hesitated before replying
"I had help" We then reached a rather large impasse. Between us and the other hallway was a large cavern full of water. Rex kicked a small bit of metal into the water below before saying
"The medical bay's at the other end" Wrecker then said
"Wheres a Jedi when you need one" We all looked over to him with serious looks on our faces. Once he realised what he looked up and said
"Sorry" Rex then shone his light behind Wrecker and said
"Wrecker, grab that cable" Wrecker did as he was told before saying
"This? W-Why? W-W-What are you gonna do with it?"
With some persistence and a bit of luck, we managed to get the cable hook over to the other side giving us a way across. I went across first followed by Tech and Echo. Echo struggled a bit but made it across nonetheless. Rex came next with Omega after that. Rex helped Omega down the from cable whilst saying
"Nicely done" When we were happy she was safely across, Echo yelled
"You're up, Wrecker" Wrecker looked over the side briefly before stepping back and said
"Uh... Yeah, my head doesn't hurt anymore. I'm fine. You guys go without me" Omega then yelled
"You can do it. Just keep your eyes on the cable" If anyone's gonna get him across it's her. Wrecker groaned before reaching up for the cable.
He began crawling across the cable but as he got just over halfway, the cable dropped slightly
"Whoa! Whoa! That was close…" Within a second of him saying that the cable gave out and Wrecker started yelling as he fell
"Wrecker!" luckily the cable wrapped his ankle stopping him just above the waterline
"Whoa, whoa!" We all rushed to the edge of the platform; Rex was the first to speak
"Are you all right?" Wrecker looked at us and said
"No! Smells awful down here!" Omega shone her light in the water as it move. A creature appeared in the water causing Omega to say
"What's that?" I quickly said
"Wrecker, start climbing"
"Why?" Omega then yelled
"Hurry!"
He didn't hesitate as he pulled himself up and began climbing the cable. As he began climbing tentacles emerged from the water and went straight for Wrecker
"Wrecker!" As Omega watched from the edge of the platform. I spun around and spoke
"Grab the cable. Get him up" the rest of us began pulling on the cable. As we pulled on the cable we could hear the creature growling, Wrecker then yelled
"Faster! Pull faster!" the creature once again roared and the strain on the cable became too much… It slipped out of our hands
"Whoa, whoa!" The creature wrapped its tentacles around Wreckers legs and pulled him into the water below
" Wrecker!" We couldn't see him or the creature, all we could see was air bubbles from where Wrecker went into the water.
After a minute or two Wrecker broke through the surface of the water and yelled
"Pull!" Rex, Tech, Echo and I grabbed the cable and began pulling. Wrecker was shouting as we pulled him up and his shouts were followed by growls from the creature.
"Whoa! Whoa, whoa…" Once he was back on solid ground he let out a couple of strained coughs and in between heavy breaths he said
"What was... that?" I crouched down next to him to make sure he was okay just as Rex said
"Makes you miss battling clankers, doesn't it?"
"Yeah"
Rex's P.O.V.
We forced the door to the med bay open and was greeted by a cloud of dust and half a dozen rats running out. I was the first to walk inside and when I looked around I said
"This will do nicely" Tech followed and said
"I would no longer call this medical bay a sterile environment" I looked at him over my shoulder and said
"Do you prefer to use the facility on Kamino?" Without even thinking about it, he replied
"This will do nicely. I'll calibrate the surgical pod" He proceeded to go over to the control table and started it up. The screens lit up the room one by one as a small electrical puls hummed throughout the room. Once the scanner came to life, i turned to Wrecker and said
"Time to get scanned, Wrecker" He looked at the med table before saying
"Let's get this over with"
