While Mirage began to slowly head back to where the Autobots lived with his three older siblings, Optimus was worried and being relegated to staying behind on the search didn't help. He had tried comm several times, but so far had not reached his mate. This did nothing to help the Prime feel any better, even with help from the minibots as Hide had gone in search of Mirage. Optimus could only hope Mirage would be found and found online.
Meanwhile, as Mirage headed for home, he began talking with his siblings Boltlock and Nighthawk as well as the third one, though he didn't know the third bot's name. "I was called Halfwing" the previously silent mech stated. "I don't like my name."
Mirage nodded, as he could understand. "You don't have to keep that name. You can choose whatever you want your designation to be. You aren't stuck having a designation that you hate."
Halfwing looked at Mirage, stunned. Halfwing had expected Mirage to make fun of the name, but Mirage had done no such thing, Mirage had offered the option that Halfwing could change his designation. He wasn't stuck with the name he had been called. "Are you serious?"
"Yes, one of my minibot friends was given one designation but then when she learned the truth behind her designation, she changed it and was happier for it. I am not the type to force a bot to keep a given designation when said bot doesn't like it" Mirage replied, showing the three even more that he was not like the typical royal bots that they had heard of. "Do you have a designation you would prefer?"
Halfwing thought about it. He had never really been given this option, so it took him a bit to decide on a new designation. "I.. I want to be Skyballer" the mech stated.
Mirage smiled. "Then that is what we shall call you, Skyballer."
Skyballer smiled, happy that he could finally be proud of his designation and that he had been accepted at least by these three bots. Suddenly a voice strange to everyone but Mirage called out. Mirage sighed, he knew that voice. It was Hide. Hide, having spotted Mirage, moved quickly over and tried to pull Mirage away. "Ironhide, let me go!" Mirage called out loudly and struggled out of Hide's grip.
"Way to talk to your rescuers" Hound added.
"I don't need rescuing from my siblings" Mirage retorted.
"I thought you were an only sparkling" Hide retorted.
"I at one time thought same thing, but these three bots have opened my optics that things were not always as rosy as they appeared. I trust them to not lie, but if you don't trust them or me, you are free to talk to Ratchet to see the truth" Mirage replied, surprising all the bots, especially the siblings that had captured him.
Hide grumbled a bit. "I trust you Mirage, but I still want verification as my protecting the Prime hallways been my prime directive. We will go back and have you all checked out before you meet the Prime."
Boltlock sighed. He could understand the hesitation to trust them, but it still hurt. "Boltlock, if we have nothing to hide, then this will only verify the truth we are telling to those. If we refuse, it may appear we are hiding something and then no one will trust us" Mirage explained calmly.
"He's right, Bolt" Nighthawk added, "I will do as asked, as I have nothing to hide."
"Same here" added Skyballer, "we have nothing to fear since we know we speak the truth." Boltlock could only nod and hoped that all would be ok. The entire group headed back to where the Autobots were staying for now as the world of Cybertron needed to be rebuilt. Mirage walked next to Boltlock, hoping it would help Boltlock feel better.
Hide commed Optimus to update the bot. Optimus was happy to hear that Mirage was safe, but was worried about other bots who were coming. Optimus decided to head to the med bay, hoping the trust that Mirage had placed in the three new bots was not misplaced. For now, all the sparked Prime could do was wait and hope that this would all turn out right.
