A/N: Hey y'all! There's a minor time-skip of a few days between this chapter and the previous one. Just thought I'd offer a heads up. Enjoy!

Doc's Favorite Boyband - Part One

I was hardly ever invited to slumber parties back home, but on the off chance I was, I often found myself the first one awake. Figures that this characteristic would follow me into the Whoniverse. I sat up slowly and stretched in my bed, surveying the chaos from the night before that now littered my bedroom.

Amy was still asleep on the couch by my closet, and by some miracle the fort we built last night was still standing. The Wii powered off sometime in the night leaving only a small "NO SIGNAL" bar to bounce across the TV screen. My eyes trailed over to the right side of my bedroom where the Doctor's fort stood. I was expecting to find the Time Lord sat up at my desk reading another book, but what met me instead certainly surprised me. Lying there halfway through the fort's entryway was a sound asleep Doctor clutching the badger plush I gave him last night.

I guess this was his one night to sleep every two months, I thought, descending carefully down the side of my loft bed. Figuring I should let both of them rest, I snuck quietly to my bedroom door; careful not to bump against any furniture under the dim lights.

After closing the door gently behind me, I began my journey down towards the kitchen. I might've been well rested, but I was still hungry. Upon reaching the quainter of the two kitchens, I was very thankful to find a blue mug of coffee waiting for me on the table.

"Thanks, old girl," I said, toasting up to the ceiling and taking a sip of the cinnamon brew. I leaned back in my chair, expecting to feel its wicker back, but I was perplexed to meet with cotton instead. I placed my coffee down and turned in my chair to be met by Thomas's MCR sweatshirt; the one he was wearing before the Silurians. I unfurled it and looked over the design; the band's Black Parade era logo in red surrounded by white fangs in a circular pattern. Without really thinking I began putting the hoodie on, and just like I remembered from our time with the Dream Lord, it came down to the middle of my thighs. Smiling to myself, I rolled up the sleeves and peered into a well stocked fridge and retrieved a carton of eggs and some butter. As I unhooked a frying pan from above the stovetop, I heard the door behind me open.

"Mornin!" I called, turning to see Amy walk in with her hand over her mouth to conceal a smile, "What's got you all excited?"

"Just… just try not to laugh or anything when the Doctor walks in," she said while trying not to laugh herself. I rolled my eyes, returning my attention to scrambling eggs and humming along to a song.

A few nights ago we managed to figure out who made the song my future self was playing, and ever since then I'd gotten a tad bit obsessed with the band responsible. They were an American Rock group from the late 2010s-early 2020s called Waterparks, so it didn't really surprise me that they hadn't previously popped up on my radar. With me being from 2013, it meant they'd only released a small EP by the time I arrived on the Tardis; and the song my future self was playing, Telephone, wouldn't have been released for another six years. In any case though, the moment I laid ears on their first album I knew I was in for a real treat.

"I think today's the day, Amy," I said, removing my eggs from the heat and placing some bread in a toaster, "I'm gonna ask the Doctor if we can go to a Waterparks concert."

"Ginny you've been saying you'll ask that about four breakfasts in a row now. And each time you've failed to say anything to the Doctor, so tell me," Amy sighed and took a sip from her tea, "What's going to make this time any different?"

"Because, Pond," I sat across the table from my fellow redhead, "I realized last night that I've got leverage."

"Have you now? Do enlighten me."

"Well it took me awhile to realize it, but I've yet to have my choice in adventure locale. Like, last time we spent a few days in Rio. That was your choice. I haven't had a say in where we go yet."

Before Amy could respond, the kitchen door flew open.

"Right then!" the Doctor said, "Who's up for a waterpark?"

I looked up from my breakfast ready to make my request, but the moment I laid eyes on the Time Lord's face I broke out laughing; despite Amy's previous warning not to. All kinds of doodles littered the Doctor's face, so I assumed Amy had done so while he was still asleep. Between the handlebar mustache, monocle, and variously sized hearts and stars there was barely a blank canvas left.

"What?" the Doctor asked innocently. I looked over to Amy who was trying very hard to stifle her laughter.

"You didn't!" I managed to say to her between giggles, and all she could do was nod.

"Sorry, have I done something funny?" the Doctor asked, which only exacerbated our laughter. I was getting flashbacks to when Sarah Jane and Rose did the same thing once with his previous incarnation.

"Doctor, I think you might need to take a look at yourself," I said, finally managing to compose myself, "Examine the writing on the wall, to coin a phrase."

Amy cackled really loudly when I said that, which only made the Doctor look more confused as he left the kitchen. About a minute passed before we heard an exaggerated gasp from down the hallway, followed by hurried footsteps back toward the kitchen.

"Amelia Pond!" the Doctor exclaimed as I tossed him a dishrag, "I let my guard down around you and this is the thanks I get!"

"First rule of slumber parties, Doctor," Amy said mischievously, "Don't fall asleep first."

"I thought I fell asleep before either of y'all," I said, tilting my head to the side in confusion.

"Okay, how about don't be the first one on ground level to fall asleep?" Amy amended.

"There ya' go," I said with a snap of my fingers, "But Doc, you were saying something about a waterpark?"

With a huff the now graffiti-less Time Lord looked up from the kitchen sink. "Yes, waterparks, right! In the year 5702 planet Neptune Delta Five celebrates its grand opening as a planet-wide amusement and water park." He started to lead us out of the kitchen and up towards the control room. "Now, that's all well and good but the grand opening isn't when we're going! On the seventeenth of July in 6002 for the planet's tricentennial spectacular, Neptune Delta Five would unveil some the most ambitious rides for its time," he started to pilot the Tardis as madly as ever, "There's a waterslide with anti-gravity spirlals, a lazy river around one of the planet's rings, even a roller coaster that takes you up to an artificial moon after a kilometer-high drop and—"

"Um, Doctor?" I asked meekly, "I actually have a special request to make."

"Hearing you loud and clear Ginny, but don't worry!" the Doctor never even looked up from the console, "Neptune Delta Five has a planet wide ultraviolet shield so you won't need to worry about sunburn."

Where the hell did he get that from? I thought.

"Well, that's good to know for future reference, but that's not really what I meant," I replied, "I actually wanted to ask if I could choose where we go this time?"

"Oh?" he stopped messing with the controls for a moment and looked at me, "Did you have another waterpark in mind?"

"Kind of," I said, smiling as I plugged my iPod to the console with an AUX cable. I set my iPod to shuffle and Telephone by Waterparks started playing over the speakers.

"So, you know how we found out a few nights ago that these guys wrote the song my future self was playing?" I asked, pulling up a photo of the band on the Tardis monitor.

"Yes," the Doctor said, fiddling with the controls a bit.

"And you know how we just got back from Rio because Amy asked to go?"

"Yes."

"So, um… what I was wondering was… uh, if we could maybe…oh, I dunno."

"Oh, get on with it Ginny!" Amy shouted from the stairs. I took a deep breath and looked up at the Doctor.

"Could we please go to a Waterparks concert? I really wanna hear this song live and—" the Tardis jolted suddenly as we landed, "Wait a minute," I started walking towards the door, "Did you already fly us somewhere?"

The Doctor walked down the stairs slowly to join me.

"Outside those doors it's the thirtieth of August in the year 2022. We're in Albany, New York, and that band is about to play in an arena for the first time ever," he pointed up to the photo of Waterparks on the monitor, "Course, they're not headlining. Not this time. No, they're just the opening act."

"Who're they opening for?" I asked. The Doctor just smiled at me. "Doc, who are Waterparks opening for?"

He pointed at the MCR logo on my sweatshirt. "Them," he said, "They're opening for them."

I stood there for a moment in shock, looking quickly from the doors to the Doctor a few times. As far as I knew, My Chemical Romance broke up in March of 2013 so the idea of them being back together nine years later was a bit farfetched. I hurried up to the console and began a search with the keyboard.

"My Chemical Romance reunion" was all I needed to type before hundreds of articles from the late 2010s and early 2020s flew across the monitor. It apparently happened on Halloween of 2019, which given the band in question was perfect timing, and after a postponing they were finally able to start a tour in the summer of 2022. I could barely believe my wide open eyes. MCR was back.

"Are you telling me we're going to a My Chemical Romance and Waterparks concert?" I asked, butterflies starting to fill my stomach.

"Yep," the Doctor said.

"Two of my favorite bands in one night?

"Yep."

I didn't know what to say anymore; I was left fully and entirely speechless by our destination. All I could really do was repeatedly say thank you and jump up and down excitedly before giving the Doctor a quick hug and making a beeline for my bedroom. If I was about to attend possibly the best concert ever, I needed to make sure my outfit reflected the occasion.

I hurried past the still standing blanket forts into my closet and began delving into drawers. Danger Days was my favorite album, and I wanted to model my outfit off its aesthetics. But I knew I'd have to choose something I could withstand warm temperatures in, so no full length jeans or long sleeve shirts. Eventually I found the perfect t-shirt; a blue and off white ringer with a distressed Mousekat graphic and the phrase "KEEP RUNNING" encircling it. I paired it with some army green shorts, ripped fishnets and maroon converse lowtops.

Considering my outfit complete I was about to leave the closet when something caught my eye, and while it certainly wouldn't be conventional it would perfectly tie my outfit together. Hanging there on the door was an exact replica for Gerard Way's Party Poison jacket.

"Oh, you've really outdone yourself this time!" I told the Tardis, quickly donning the jacket and returning to the control room. Amy changed out of her pajamas into a black miniskirt and a red blouse, with sheer black tights and black boots. I practically flew down the stairs and flung open the Tardis doors, not really processing what the Doctor was saying behind me.

Excitement quickly turned to nervousness when I was met not by the bustling outside of an arena, but the empty inside of a smaller concert venue. We were parked right in front of the general admission area. To my right was a small merch table for Waterparks featuring various t-shirts, cds, and a bright blue hoodie which read, "SPRING TOUR 2019."

"Hey, Doc I think you got the dates wrong," I called into the Tardis, "I think we're in…" My voice trailed off when I looked to the stage on my left. Up onstage with a boatload of confusion clear in their eyes, Geoff Wigington and Otto Wood from Waterparks were stopped mid-soundcheck staring at me; and all I could do in my starstruck state was stare back and offer a meek sounding greeting.

"Um, hello!" I said, "What time are doors?"
