Optimus soon followed his mate back to the current Autobot base where they were staying as Cybertron was being rebuilt. What he had learned had greatly bothered him. He couldn't believe what King Onyx and Queen Quartz had done. Optimus wanted to believe Mirage and the computer but there was one more it he needed to talk to – Bumblebee. Optimus new the minibot could confirm or deny what had been revealed. And so, once they returned, Mirage headed in one direction to pick up their sparklings while Optimus headed in another direction, towards where Bee was likely to be – the med bay.
Fortunately for Optimus, Bee was in the med bay being checked out. Optimus patiently waited for Ratchet to finish the exam. Optimus didn't want to interrupt anything important. Ratchet quickly and quietly finished once he saw Optimus. Bee was surprised until he saw Optimus as well.
"Is something wrong with Prince Mirage, sir?" Bee asked, not sure what type of a visit this was as Optimus was rarely seen without Ironhide in tow.
"No, nothing is wrong with him, but I do have some questions for you" Optimus responded gently yet firmly.
Bee realized that this was something serious and nodded. "Ask away, sir. I will do my best to give you an answer and answer honestly and to the best of my ability" Bee responded, seeming to know that these would likely not be normal questions for the bot.
"Well, recently Mirage and I some ugly truths about King Onyx and Queen Quartz" Optimus started out and explained what he and his mate had discovered, even though Mirage had known some of the information already. "Is this true? Were those two so shallow that they would do this?"
Bee sighed. "Yes, it's true. They even wanted to get rid of Mirage, as his illusionary ability disturbed them. I convinced them to save him, and… it was I who set up the betrothal of you to Mirage, knowing that they would keep Mirage if he was going to be bonded to a future Prime" Bee reluctantly revealed. "King Onyx wanted to make Mirage vanish as well."
Optimus hated Mirage's creators even more, but he didn't understand something. "How on earth did they hide this so well? I mean I don't get it" Optimus replied, and told of the encrypted information.
"King Onyx didn't add it… I did. I didn't want what had happened to be forgotten, but I didn't want it to be known that the record had been kept or it would have destroyed the kingdom of Kaon and myself. I did it to save Mirage and the siblings he had" Bee revealed, lowering his helm. "I saw how they treated their sparklings and wants to make sure that they would be safe some day and would know the truth someday."
Optimus looked at Bee. The Prime soon realized Bee had seen way more than the bot let on, but had kept it buried to save Mirage and his siblings. Optimus went up to Bee and hugged the small bot. "Thank you for saving them" Optimus stated, meaning it. Bee raised his helm and saw that the Prime was offering no condemnation but reassurance and forgiveness. Bee smiled and felt better. Bee no longer had to hide what he had done to save the others. Mirage and the others were safe.
