Boltlock and Skyballer were chatting together in the rec room when Nighthawk and Optimus found them. Both appeared worried and feared that Optimus would kick them out. "Optimus brings good news" Nighthawk stated, showing just how happy she was.
"What is this good news?" Boltlock asked, a bit sarcastically as he was used to constant rejection. He saw this as no different.
"I learned how you parents treated you thank to Bumblebee and I must say my parents would have taken you all and placed you with other bot had they known about it. But since I can't change the past, I am offering something that I hope you will accept. I am offering you all a chance to become part of the Autobots" Optimus stated, his intentions clear or so he thought.
"Yeah right, you wouldn't dare accept rejects like us" Boltlock retorted.
"He accepted me, no questions asked" Nighthawk shot back before Optimus could respond.
"He accepted you? Someone who had at one time been his enemy?" Skyballer asked, intrigued.
"Yes. And I was not forced. I was given a choice and it was my choice to become an Autobot" Nighthawk replied.
"You had a choice?" Boltlock asked, his wall that protected him starting to come down so to speak.
"Yes, she had a choice, as do you. I won't force anyone to join us, but I will freely offer the choice to join" Optimus replied. "Mirage asked that I offer full acceptance of you as I can't change anything else. I agreed. Now the ball is in your court, as the humans say."
Boltlock and Skyballer looked at each other. They wanted to be accepted. "Even with our imperfections we will be accepted?" They asked, worried about their 'defects'.
"No one is sparked perfectly, we all have faults and glitches and such, some are just more obvious than others" Optimus explained, making Mirage's three siblings feel even better. "Regardless of what kind of imperfection, we willing accept all those who choose to come to us."
"Then, we will accept the offer that was made and join you" Boltlock answered and Skyballer nodded. Optimus smiled and welcomed them to the team. Mirage would have to be told later, but for now, Optimus sat down and got to know the three better. They were surprised that he would do so, but they found him to be a caring and accepting bot and that made them all the happier now that they no longer had to be treated as outcasts.
