Layla set up the picnic with the help of her adoptive dad, Patrick Bateman. Once they were done setting up everything, they then waited for Layla's boyfriend, Jack Kelly. Once he showed up, he shook the hand of Patrick, saying "Hello, Mr. Bateman."
As Jack started to speak to Patrick, Layla was setting up the food, which were her homemade fruit sando, the chocolate and strawberry Pockys, some fruits like strawberries and grapes. Before she ate her fruit sando, she told Jack and Patrick, "Hey, are any of you guys allergic to strawberries? And also, chocolate or strawberry for the Pockys?" Jack told Layla was he was allergic to strawberries and he decided the chocolate Pocky.
"I'll have the strawberry Pocky." Patrick said, and Layla gave her adoptive father the strawberry flavored Pocky.
"Hey, Rosa, how do these Pocky thingies work?" Jack asked with his Brooklyn accent.
"Okay, so the brown top is the chocolate and the tan bottom is the bread. I'm not really good at explaining things." Jack opened the wrapper and pulled out one of the Pockys with the bread bottom. He ate the chocolate piece and then smiled at the taste of the chocolate. Layla finished her fruit sando and ate some grapes with her adoptive dad. Once they were done with eating the food. They got up and started to pack up the food into the picnic basket. Layla folded up the picnic blanket and walked back to her parents's house with Patrick and Jack following her.
Once they reached to their house, Jack spat on his own hand in an attempt to handshake with Patrick but however he grossing out both Patrick and Layla. Jack just shrugged, wiped his hand on his pants and walked back to wherever he lived. Patrick unlocked the door to the house and walked into the house with Layla.
