Come home to me Chapter 1

ESCAPE

A/N: This story is a continuation of (finishing) "Fear of losing you" by densinew. It incorporates the special powers of Superman & the Wiccan powers of Lana (Isobel). In the story Densi, Clana, Neric & Jamko are all best friends and all have been entrusted with Clark's secret (and Lana's). The full context of the 4 couples can best be gained by reading my trilogy – "Lonesome Street", "Lovely Lane", and "Isobel and her Superman".

The trek out

Kensi has subdued her captor, rendered him unconscious with a choke hold, bound and gagged him and now it's time to escape the cabin. But before she does, she has a decision. She wants to incapacitate him so he doesn't pursue her, at least for a while. How should she do that? She doesn't want to kill him, that's not the kind of person she is. She doesn't want to render him a life-long invalid (necessarily), so what to do. A broken limb (or two) seems the best option, but which ones?

Probably lower extremity, that will limit his walking ability greatly; hip, knee, ankle? How compassionate should she be, given what he has threatened and actually done to her? Is she overthinking this? Probably. She decides on the knee.

He is coming around, so she does the choke hold again putting him back under. She gives both knees solid stomps with her feet; she can hear bones crunch and sees both knee caps dislocate. She winces. He won't be coming after her!

She finds his back pack and empties it of his gear. She puts back in some food supplies, a blanket, minimal first aid stuff, and then looks around one last time. Off his person she takes his cell phone, firearm & ammo, knife and pager. WAIT! That's her pager; but it's not actually a pager, it just looks like it.

When she and Marty joined the inner circle of friends of Clana (Clark & Lana), the group had each received a device designed by the Justice League. It was a GPS locator that intermittently sends out a signal to a monitoring station, giving its current location. It was designed to appear innocuous, even old fashioned and useless. Clana would be monitoring this device's signal thru their cell phones wherever they were. Her captor had found it and probably dismissed its danger or usefulness to him. What a break! She would activate it when she got a little way from the cabin. Now, she was ready to go.

She put on a jacket she found draped over a chair and slipped out the back door. She looked around and saw no one. Listening carefully revealed no sounds suggestive of civilization or others in the immediate vicinity.

So, which way to go? She had no idea where she was. North, south, east or west? By looking at the sun she oriented herself. She looked carefully at the forest around her. Douglas Fir, maybe? Not a Southern California forest, that's for sure. Oregon, Washington, British Columbia? Still, which way to go? No clues yet.

She activated her "pager". 1 press of the green button to activate, 2 presses of the red button. To signal "emergency". She hoped Clark &/or Lana were paying attention.

METROPOLIS, Met University

Lana heard a soft chime on her cell phone, she was in her last class of the day. She had her phone in airplane mode, except for this specific alert tone. She swiped and got to her home screen. There was a notification of a monitoring message. She opened it and saw that Kensi's GPS device had sent out a signal. She would need to get home and to her laptop to see what exactly was going on; and what coordinates the device had sent. Clark was in his last class also. They had 20" left in class; should she alert him and go home? The GPS device hadn't signaled "high emergency" (3 presses of the red button), so they could wait. But this was the 1st use of the device and she didn't want to underestimate the danger Kensi was facing. She decided not to wait; she got up, walked to the front and whispered "family emergency" to the professor (who nodded) and walked out.

She stopped by Clark's classroom and peeked in the door. The professor noticed her and frowned. Lana gingerly walked to her desk and asked if Clark could be excused for a "family emergency"? The professor nodded, Clark got up and slipped out the door with Lana.

"What's up?" He asked.

"Monitoring message, let's go!"

"Ok." He knew what that meant.

They sped home and Lana booted up her laptop. They had agreed on a schedule of who was on monitoring duty; this was a Lana day.

"It's Kensi's GPS device. Try calling her."

Clark calls . . . "straight to voice mail! I'll call Marty."

RING, RING.

"Deeks here."

"Marty, this is Clark. Is Kensi with you?"

"No, why do you ask?"

"Well, her GPS device, the one we gave her, and you too, just sent out a signal."

"SHIT! I forgot all about that! Do you know where she is? Is she ok? Can you hear or see her?"

"Whoa, slow down Marty. We have the coordinates where the device was when it was activated. We don't know if she activated it or someone else did."

"What are the coordinates? Wait . . . I'll go up to Ops. Stay on the line."

"He's panicked, something is wrong!" Clark tells Lana.

"You still there? This is Hetty."

"Yes, here are the coordinates. Can you tell us what's up?" He gives Hetty the information.

Silence for a couple of minutes.

"Clark, Eric says the coordinates are in British Columbia, Canada. Do you know anything more?" Hetty tells him.

"No, but the device should signal again in 10" if it's not turned off. Can you give us info on where she is. We can fly there in minutes."

Hetty does. Clana get ready to fly. "Shall we take our guns? We've been practicing." Clark asks Lana.

"I'm not that proficient yet, I'd rather depend on our natural abilities. You?"

"I agree. You mean super-natural, right?" Clark smirks.

"Yes, definitely. Here's the next signal. Here are the next coordinates Hetty."

"Thanks, it looks like she's on the move. How soon can you take off?"

"We are off in 2 minutes."

"Ok, be careful. Do not put yourselves in mortal danger, please! I am arranging transport of my team as we speak. Will you both have your cell phones?"

"We will, we are off in 1!"

They have their disguises on, and heavy parkas, Lana jumps on Clark's back and the CK express is off to BC.
