Survivor - Heroes vs Villains
Chapter 6 - Day 5 & Day 6 Part 1
Okay. Welcome back to Heroes vs Villains.
Today we're going to continue on with day five and part of day six until the immunity challenge is finished. Once the challenge is done, one of these two tribes will have to get ready for the second elimination of this season.
Nothing much else to say here, so get comfortable and enjoy.

Heroes
Day 5
Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Zelda, Meta Knight, Sonic, Vector, Shovel Knight, Golden
-/-
Back on Hero beach, it was just about mid-morning. A few more hours, and the group was set to eat their share of rice for the day. Though those hours were going to feel like forever for them, since everyone was always hungry ninety percent of the time.
Meta Knight and Golden were seen sitting next to each other in the sand, watching others cooling off in the ocean.
"You know one of the worst things about being out here?" Vector was talking with Yoshi and Sonic. "...We ain't got no damn music out here. ...I swear, it sucks."
"Hahaha! I thought you were going to mention food." Well, Yoshi thought wrong. "I mean, come on. I am tired of wondering when is the next time we are going to eat all the time. I went through all thirty-nine days last season and I still haven't gotten used to it."
"You know, I've played on the last season. And with this being my second time playing, you would think that we would be used to how certain things are. We're living together on a deserted island where we're lucky enough to have anything other than rice or coconut, and we have to deal with worrying how many people are talking behind your back. One might think that just because we're All Stars, we should know better... But I've played on the most recent season and I'm still not used to certain things, yet! I'm hungry! The lack of food here is already getting on my nerves. ...And maybe Vector's right. We should at least get some music around here so we won't be bored half the time!"
"I remember Doc Louis not winning a single reward challenge, so he had it rough more than everybody else on our season." And yet he ended up winning Survivor. "The lack of food really got to him. ...But that's the single worst thing about being out here. ...I feel like we're on the streets. The lack of music, though? When they show the edited episodes on the show, the fans at least get something. They get adventurous and suspenseful type of music. All you hear out here are the waves and us talking to each other."
That was literally it. Music lovers like Vector felt like they were going crazy. And Sonic had to agree. "I'm with you on the whole music thing. You're not in touch of what's going on, you can't even keep up with your favorite artists when they are dropping new music, you don't really know anything."
"I would try something with Charizard and K. Rool. See, we really were the Reptile Runaways on Ponderosa." Oh, Lord... "But obviously they are not here right now. All I have is Yoshi. But when I get back to them, I feel we would be good at performing. K. Rool is obviously the captain, maybe I could be a rapper or something, and Charizard could have the voice."
"Hahaha, if you three were actually a real band, I'd be all over it." Sonic found it to be hilarious, yet interested at the same time. "I'm a music lover myself, so I'd be down to collab with you any day."
"Vector's pretty much an awesome guy to be around, and he is quite funny, too. I just can't believe they are still on this whole 'Reptile Runaways' thing. ...The one thing I question though is that how in the world did Banjo get into it? It makes no sense to me. Last time I check, he's a furry... Unless reptilians and furries are the same thing, I don't get it..."
Sonic was not the only one who did not understand, but anyway...
"They really were so focused on that on Ponderosa, by the way." Meta Knight commented, hearing that entire conversation. "I even caught them one time actually writing down lyrics."
That made Golden laugh quite a bit. "They were that into it?"
"You wouldn't have believed it." The knight snickered himself. "But I think the three of them have good chemistry with each other, despite Charizard obviously being the most tame of them all."
"I had a chat or two with him." He realized. "And I gotta say. ...He's a pretty straightforward guy and highly intelligent."
"I suppose I could say the same about you." Meta Knight complimented, turning to see the bear directly. "Come to think of it, that's what everyone says about you. You have a rather laid back personality, but very smart."
"Yeah, but I'm boring, too. So I'm not that interesting as a person." Golden giggled at himself.
"I'm boring as well." ...Really Meta Knight? "So I guess that's one thing we have in common. But it doesn't take away anything else. You don't have to have the biggest personality to win, as long as you have played an impressive game. Besides, big personalities can be a turnoff at times out here, and it cause a problem for you socially."
"You're right." The bear nodded. "You've seen the couple times where Daisy was pissed off at Incineroar for being... Incineroar."
Pretty good example right there. He was even a turn off for the fans that watched the season.
"Me and Meta Knight are actually getting along rather well." He smirked, somewhat surprised. "Sure, he may have put me in a certain position out here, but he's not a bad guy at all. Perhaps aligning with him ain't the worst thing in the world. However, the people who he's aligning against is quite the sacrifice me and DK have to make. We all know who the people at the bottom are, and we're currently trying to figure out how we're gonna handle them if we lose the next challenge."
"What are the chances of those two having a hidden immunity idol?" The sword wielder asked him. "Since Sonic and Mario are on the outs and there are seven of us in the majority, playing it safe and splitting votes makes perfect sense. Wouldn't you say?"
"I think it does." Golden nodded agreeing. "I don't really think one of those two have an idol, but better safe than sorry."
He was now with DK again at the shelter, Zelda also being in attendance as she was lying down on her back on the bamboo.
"Meta Knight feels that we need to split the votes between Mario and Sonic if we're going back to tribal."
"That's the smartest option." The only woman left of the tribe found no problem with it. "I hope we're not going back. But if we are, we'll just discuss who's writing down who and that will be the end of it..."
"Hmm..." Donkey Kong crossed his arms in thought.
"I'm gonna have a giant pit in my stomach if we lose the next challenge, because of you know what." Just thinking about it was overwhelming for him. "Right now, the plan would be to split the votes between Mario and Sonic in case they somehow have an idol. But you know, part of me wishes they have it and we put all our votes onto one person and somebody pulls it out. That would be funny if that actually happens, and hey, it buys them more time out here. But I've chosen to go against them, so I unfortunately can't do them any favors, unless the targets somehow changes to somebody else."
The scene switched to DK now being in the jungle. Apparently, the talk about the vote being split due to the possibility of immunity idols being into play motivated him to go search for one himself.
There was never much talk about idols until now, anyway.
Donkey Kong was looking in the trees one minute, and the next his eyes was scanning the ground. He was even seen digging holes in the most random places trying to look for something, scratching his head in confusion.
"Where in the name of Crocodile Isle is it...? Please don't tell me somebody's already got it..."
Looking behind himself to make sure there was no one else coming, he kept on searching the ground, until he came across yet another big piece of bamboo that had fallen over. It was actually split open, which was one of the many things about the island that stuck out to Donkey Kong.
Glancing inside with one eye, he almost immediately froze in place.
"Oh bananas..."
Grabbing at what he saw with his big fingers, it turned out to be a note wrapped up in a piece of parchment that was tied up in fine knot. Unraveling it while scanning the area once again, he began to read the contents.
"'Congratulations. You have found the clue to the hidden immunity idol,... but it will require you to be daring.'"
Wait,... what?
"'The idol is going to be located in the next immunity challenge.'" His jaw almost hit the floor. Holy smokes... "...What the... I gotta find the idol in the immunity challenge?"
Finish reading the note, please...
"This has never happen before. Never in the history of this show where someone was required to find an idol in a challenge... That's crazy smart." Supposedly it was unknown to what the rest of the clue stated at the time. Now the audience was going to be guessing. "And apparently I gotta find it... in front of everyone! ...How in the world am I gonna do that? I gotta be really sneaky about this. I'm probably gonna have one chance to get it..."
He sighed. The stress was real. "Tomorrow is gonna be such a chore to get through. But hey, if I can find an immunity idol again, it will all be worth it. It's gonna be good to have an advantage over everybody else."
Villains
Day 5
Bowser, Sheik, Wolf, Ridley, Shadow, Ryu, Specter Knight, Plague Knight, Foxy, Springtrap
-/-
At the Villains camp, it was at that point that they were establishing a routine around camp. They had more than enough wood to burn, there were more than enough palm fronds for the roof, and the fire was going strong.
Though Ridley decided that it some point, the tribe needed to do a little something extra. Something that actually benefitted everyone.
"I think we should consider splitting the bamboo later on..."
"That's not a bad idea." Sheik agreed with that suggestion. "It will only help a little with sleeping, but it's gonna be something better if we do that."
"Less headaches..." Springtrap commented. "That's for sure..."
Plague Knight was seen sitting next to him in the shelter with a fist beneath his chin in though.
"Anyone need a refill on water?" Springtrap then got up on his feet. "I don't mind going."
"Guess I'll go as well." Wolf volunteered raising his hand.
"Ooh, I wanna come, too." Plague Knight came up with the split second decision of going with the two of them. Though not simply because he wanted to help his tribe, he had his own agenda in mind. "Lemme help."
They were now on the pathway in the woods, the smallest member of the team immediately starting to talk as soon as he knew there was no way the rest of the Villains heard him speak.
"Neither of you have heard anything about me, have you?"
"Nah..."
"No..."
"I hope not..." Plague Knight sighed, mixed with anxiousness and frustration. "That's why I decided to go with you two to get water. ...I don't know if I can trust anyone. Not many people have been strategizing with me yet... Like, I know we won the first immunity, but still... It's day five, now."
"You think everyone's just waiting until we lose?" Springtrap assumed.
"It could be,... but the smartest thing is to have an option in mind before we lose a challenge!"
Both anthropomorphic animals took a quick glance at one another before back at the path in front of them.
"I mean, I know that I was already going to be looked at, but that's why I wanna plan now. I don't wanna go home."
"It's been five days, and there is still no big plan going on right now? Come on..." Plague Knight might have been self-centered, but he was no idiot. "Just because we won the first challenge doesn't mean there shouldn't be any strategizing at all. And when there's not much strategizing going on the tribe, it makes you feel like you're the one going home. So if we lose tomorrow, I feel that my name is on the line."
"You two have to know something!"
Obviously he was sounding a bit desperate, the two bigger villains not stopping their walk.
"I understand..." Wolf responded, Springtrap turning around to ask Plague what he had in mind.
"Who do you think should be voted out first, then?"
"Uh,..." He blinked under his mask. "anyone but me?"
"Okay... Maybe,... Shadow could be a good choice of a first boot for the tribe." Did he honestly feel that way, or did he just come up with something on the spot to avoid Plague being too suspicious? "That man's got game in him. He's a total flip flopper and he's a dangerous dude. He's not as strong as some of the others on the tribe, so he is one we could afford to lose."
"I second that." O'Donnell backed him up.
"Alright..." Plague Knight sighed. At least he received some kind of answer there. "Guess that does make sense... But please let me know if my name comes up."
"Apparently people are worried about Shadow, but I don't know if they're telling me the truth. Getting rid of Shadow means you're doing it for strategic reasons, because if they're basing it off of challenges,... obviously I'm getting some votes. And if they want to keep winning, why keep me here? ...You know what, I'm not gonna have this again. I'm not gonna have it."
He then literally got up from his spot and cut his confessional short. "No way..."
Back with Ridley, he had something to worry about himself. Like the alchemist, he also feared of having his name being put down. Yet in contrast, he knew he was not going to be voted out immediately (hopefully), the dragon had a gut feeling somebody was going to throw him under the bus soon.
To voice his opinion, he had a brief conversation with Bowser.
"I feel like people are gonna throw both of our names out there, whether we keep winning or not... You feel the same way?"
"..." He sighed and dropped his hands. "I agree with you. I was lucky that I made it all the way to final nine in my season even though I lost every challenge. But I know I'm gonna be an even bigger target now."
"...Do you by chance... have anything you feel like telling me about?"
Did Bowser knew what he meant by that? "...I know what you mean, but no. I ain't got nothin'..."
"We should go look for something, then." Uh oh... "We gotta get Ryu, split up, come back here at this spot in thirty to forty minutes."
"It is probably inevitable for the target to be on my back, as well as Bowser's. Ryu, not as likely as us two, but eventually people are gonna be thinking about him. We've already made an alliance together, and now we have our first mission... find the hidden immunity idol... I hope to the Survivor Gods that it's not been found already. But look, I'm not coming all the way right back here just to sit on my tail all day and wait until it's my time to go. If people are gonna put my name out there, I'm out for blood. Even if I end up getting the majority of the votes at Tribal Council, I would have an idol to save my ass."
He could have at least been consistent with his word choices, since he just said 'tail' a few seconds ago... But anyway, he decided to make a plan for the three of them to find a hidden immunity idol.
Back at the shelter, Plague Knight was shown near the shelter, relieved that Specter Knight was right there.
"I need your help."
He groaned in reaction. "...What? You found out you're going home?"
"No! ...Well,..." The other Shovel Knight character paused for a moment. "I hope that Wolf and Springtrap are telling the truth that I'm not... But, I'm not gonna take any chances. If we lose tomorrow, I'm not gonna be the first vote out of this tribe. I didn't go all the way to the end the first time just to be one of the first out! You gotta be kidding me!"
"Then why are you bringing me into your business?" Specter popped an invisible eyebrow from beneath his helmet.
"Because if you're deciding to align with me, maybe there's something in store for the both of us. Look, I don't know about you, but we need to look for the idol."
"...!?"
"Yeah..." He nodded with absolute certainty. "Now."
"If this is not Survivor - Mexico..." Quite the deja vu experience for him, slowing sliding a hand down his helmet. "I'm getting flashbacks to the exact moment where Plague came up to me knowing he was in trouble, and now it's the same thing all over again. I didn't even confirm that I was planning on aligning with him. Though the one reason why I agreed to search for an idol, perhaps I could find something myself and simply not tell him about it. ...I do not owe him anything. If anything, he owes me due to me playing a major role in him surviving for so long. But I feel that he is part of the reason why I am quite curious of where I stand with everyone, so having an idol would greatly benefit me."
Looks like Strong Guys Alliance 2.0 had some competition going.
With a heavy sigh, Specter followed Plague along to the woods.
"Why me of all people?"
"Because you're literally the only one I can talk to like this."
So it was officially on: SGA 2.0 versus... Plague and Specter Knight. Three against two, and none of them even knew it.
Music: Battlefield Version 2
Game: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Sure, the two knights in question were not even Assist Trophies in Smash, let alone fighters. Though they were participants for this smashing Survivor series, so for this case scenario, it counted.
SGA had the numbers advantage over the two SK castaways, though underdogs usually found a way, right?
Ryu already got the message from Bowser that they had some idol hunting to do. People were so scared of their positions on the Villains tribe, all of a sudden, literally half the tribe wanted to find one at the same time.
With Sheik, Shadow, Springtrap, Foxy, and Wolf all not being around with all this occurring, hopefully they figured everyone simply scattered around. Nothing to take too seriously.
But anyway, Ryu was busy speed-walking around the area he was in, glancing high up into the trees hoping to find something rather mysterious. Yet so far, nothing too exciting was worth getting some attention.
"Come on... Let's go..." Plague and Specter were in a different area in the woods. "Let's split up. You go this way, I'll go that way. I'll see you in fifteen minutes!"
With him already heading in his own direction, the scythe wielder sighing again as he began looking around.
"I think this was a pretty great idea for the three of us to go search for one!" Bowser Koopa grinned, the turtle being seen looking between branches and on different sides of the water well. "That idol's gotta be somewhere and we're all just walking by it. But somebody's gotta find that thing. Somebody's gonna say, 'Oh, Bowser has been here for too long already. He should get his torch snuffed so we ain't gotta worry about him anymore.' And then at tribal I can pull out an idol and laugh in their faces. I'm the original villain of this show! You think you can just get rid of me like that? ...Oh man. I thought to myself coming out here that if I could just lay my hands on a hidden immunity idol, I'm King of the Dark Lands, baby!"
Canon wise, he literally was the King of the Dark Lands and had an entire royal family.
In different shots, Koopa was turning huge rocks over, Ridley was hanging around by tree mail, and Plague Knight was running all around, his head shifting in all sorts of directions out of desperation.
There was even a scene where Specter Knight and Ryu were at the exact same location, much to the suspense to everyone watching from home. Yes, they were completely unaware of each other's presence.
Both former Brawn Tribe members were at opposite ends of an open field that had nothing but grass, Specter's head slowly rotating from left to right while Ryu had his body lowered to search the ground. Moments later, a larger view of the area showed both the martial artist and the knight in the same shot, just without them noticing the other person.
Though at the end of the day, the whereabouts of where somebody was going to find something pretty much had to do what Donkey Kong did from the Heroes Tribe. And somebody on the Villains did notice the large piece of bamboo that fell over. There was even the idol clue itself flashing for a brief moment to rub in the players' faces shouting, 'Hey! I'm right here! Come find me!'
Unfortunately, the idol clue had to deal with ten players that did not know how to look. But there was no need to worry. Somebody was going to find it eventually.
Pretty soon, the bamboo was picked up. Good. A player was going to get it.
His clawed hand reached in and grabbed the wrapped up piece of paper. Unraveling it, he began to read.
"'Congratulations. You have found the clue to the hidden immunity idol.'" Ridley. "'But, it will require you to be daring.' ...!?"
Literally a loss for words.
Day 6
It was time for the second immunity challenge. The importance of it was now even higher than before, thanks to the two certain players that had a lot to gain, even if their team was set to lose.
The challenge itself had a large cage in the water. And back on the shore had eight paddles that were slanted over as if they needed to be used for target practice... Yep, this challenge was fairly recent.
"Come on in!"
The Villains came in first one by one, making their way over to their red mat.
"Perfect." Ridley stated, but for even more reasons other than the fact the challenge was familiar to him. "This is my challenge."
"Our challenge." commented Springtrap. "No excuses to lose today, Ridley."
Now the opposing team was coming in.
"Villains, get your first look at the new Heroes tribe. ...Isabelle voted out at the first Tribal Council."
"Didn't expect anybody else." Foxy and literally the rest of the red team found no surprise there.
"You guys ready to get to today's immunity challenge? First things first, Villains, I've got to take it back."
A heavily disappointed Bowser had the immunity idol in his hands, yet his feet told him to stay in place and let Master Hand come all the way to his position just to take it from him.
"You could have at least tried to meet me halfway, Bowser."
"I ain't walkin'." He shook his head in reply. "Not after all I've been through on Kodai Island."
Mario jokingly rolled his eyes. ...But what did the audience think? Was Bowser playing the victim a little too much, or were his words completely justified?
"Once again, immunity is back up for grabs. For today's challenge, six swimmers from each tribe are going to race out into the ocean, across the balance beam to a cage. You will climb up and over the cage into the water where you will untie knots which will release a very, very long and heavy snake. Pull it up and over the cage and across the balance beam to make it back to shore. Place the snake in its cradle, and the three remaining tribe members will untie it to pull out three numbered tiles to a combination lock. With the right combination, you will use that key to unlock eight rings where you will use them to land them on targets."
"First tribe that spells immunity, wins immunity. Losers, Tribal Council where someone will be the second person voted out of Survivor - Heroes vs Villains. In addition, you're playing for a reward. Wanna know what you're playing for?"
Anything better than just the basic flint to keep the fire going.
"Fishing gear." Master Hand went over to a table to remove the cloth covering the challenge's reward. "Maybe you want something else other than rice in your system. Just gotta work for it. You've got hooks, rafts, everything you need. If you are still unable to catch anything with this, as All Stars,... it'll be quite the embarrassment."
Master Hand, the fans were pretty sure some of the players knew how to fish.
"Here's the history of this challenge: Vector, Ridley, Meta Knight, Springtrap, Yoshi. You guys competed in this challenge just in the previous season. Springtrap and Yoshi were victorious, Ridley and Meta Knight lost, but today, they are on different teams. We'll see what happens today. Villains, you have one extra person, you must sit somebody out. Keep in mind, you cannot sit out the same person in back to back challenges. Who's it gonna be today?"
The scientist raised his hand in the air.
"Plague Knight. Take your spot on the sit out bench. Everybody else, Im'ma give you a minute to strategize, we'll get started."
Just like previously, the audience were in on the scoop regarding the challenge discussion.
"Alright. Mind if I be the main talker for today?" Vector volunteered. "I've done this challenge before and I could teach you guys how to handle the snake."
"Same here, but you're stronger than me. You can go ahead." Yoshi decided to let his friend take charge.
Zelda sighed. "I'll just go ahead and solve the combination lock. It might not be much, but I really cannot slow you all down today. Me doing the smallest role is more of a team move in my opinion."
And for the Villains?
"Obviously, you all need me to help out with the snake." Ridley was not afraid to speak of himself. Though it was without any intention to prop himself up to be better than everybody. "Who's doing the ring toss? Three people."
"Me." Sheik raised her arm high. "I can also handle the lock."
"I might have been Brawn on my season, though I feel this team does have enough help for the most physically demanding portion of the challenge." Specter folded his arms. "I'll volunteer for the ring toss."
"I suppose I'll be with Sheik and Specter." Shadow decided.
One more important thing to note was the location of the immunity idol. For both tribes, there was a flash to where it was located: underneath in the middle of the snake's cradle.
"And me and Ridley will just make sure this team wins." Springtrap was determined.
Ridley and Donkey Kong had some work to do.
-/-
"Alright, here we go. For immunity and reward. Survivors ready? ...GO!"
It was a race to the cage, the twelve swimmers dashing out and into the water.
"Get to that cage as fast as you can!" yelled Master Hand. "The sooner you get there, the soon you can start untying knots to release that snake. Out swimming for the Heroes... Vector, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Mario, Golden, and Shovel Knight. Vector leading in the water as usual."
There was a close up at Vector showing off his impressive swimming skills.
"Tear it up, Vec!" Sonic shouted from the shore.
"Out swimming for the Villains... Ridley, Springtrap, Ryu, Foxy, Wolf, and Bowser. Ridley's leading the Villains."
"No messing around, Villains!" Sheik yelled.
Due to Vector and Ridley leading their respective teams, they were the first to the balance beam, quickly standing up on it to make their way across.
Ridley ended up being the better balancer over Vector, causing him to nearly catch up.
"Right on him, Ridley! Awesome!" Sheik shouted again.
"You are only as fast as your slowest!" The camera took a glance at the remaining castaways that were just now getting to the balance beam. All of the Villains managed to stick together. Mario and Shovel Knight were sort of trailing a little, though it was not because they were bad at swimming. The other four were simply faster than them.
But as the master stated, the team was only as fast as their slowest member.
"Careful, careful..." Golden warned Donkey Kong, noticing that he was wobbling a little. But he quickly got himself together.
"Remember: this beam will be used to carry the snake across."
"No need to run if you feel like you can't..." Springtrap told his team members nearing the end of the beam.
Everybody needed to be at the cage before the tribe was able to move on. Vector and Ridley managed to reach it about the same time, yet the rest of the Villains were able to make it not too long after, giving them a slight edge over blue.
"Go, Villains!"
"Come on!" Donkey Kong extended out his free arm for Shovel Knight. "Grab my hand!"
"Right on, Villains!" Plague Knight shouted from the sit out bench. "Keep it up!"
"Go, Heroes!" Master Hand commanded. "Villains are gonna be the first tribe to have everybody in..."
Splash after splash, the six snake lifters were all in the cage.
"Alright, start untying!"
Taking in deep breaths, the camera itself went underwater (even including the sound effects for crying out loud), watching the players get to the knots to begin untying the snake.
"Right on 'em..." Golden and Donkey Kong were seen helping Mario and Shovel Knight over in the cage while they dropped down to splash in the water themselves.
"Go, Heroes!"
"Alright. Doing decent so far..." Meta Knight kept his hopes up.
Nobody was messing around underwater as they were all hurrying in untying the knots. There were several shots in a row of them holding their breath, coming back up for air, or the legs dangling above the water.
The rest of the players that were on the shore were obviously not able to see underwater, so all they had to go on was using Master Hand as a source.
"We are neck and neck. Everybody seems to be doing a nice job. Don't forget... this snake is not going to be easy to handle."
"That's it, isn't it?" Ryu's head popped up from the water.
"We're done." Ridley confirmed. "I got the front. Let's go, now!"
"The Villains are going to start lifting that snake up! Here comes the fun part!"
For Ridley and Springtrap, it was literally a repeat from their past season. They both very well remembered how heavy that snake was, and it was definitely not something to joke about. Even for someone strong as Ridley, it was rather heavy for him to handle.
Yet after all that unfair criticism about Meta Knight during season four, there was no way the team gained much if he was helping out with the snake. ...Just no. It was like a small Pikmin handling a bowling ball (no intentional shade meant to Meta at all).
"Ugh! ...Come on!" Ridley barked at his tribe, clinging on to the cage with one hand and lifting the head of the snake with the other. Springtrap was on the other side of Ridley helping him with the head. Ryu and Bowser were in the middle, and Wolf and Foxy were handling the back to it being the thinnest part of the snake.
"Okay, go, go, go!" By the sound of Vector's voice, he was more than ready. "DK, Golden, get the front! Yoshi, you're with me!"
"Heroes have their snake untied!"
"Gotta go fast, guys!" Sonic barked from his position.
"Villains have a bit of a lead. They are getting that head over the cage!"
And just as his previous season, Ridley was using all of his weight to pull more of the snake over.
Plague Knight was nearly hopping up and down, now standing on the sit out bench. "Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up..."
More of the red team's snake was getting over, but the blue team's snake was right on its tail (not literally of course). Donkey Kong was the one using his entire body as extra weight once the head was on the other side, Golden trying to bring the snake over as fast as he could have, more of the Heroes team climbing up.
"Almost there!" Ryu and Bowser were now the ones on top of the cage, both Ridley and Springtrap further dragging the snake into the water on the other side.
"Villains nearly have all of their snake over. All four hundred pounds of it!"
With Bowser tossing the tail over, he and the rest of his fellow villain members began to jump down to help out with the next step of the challenge.
"They're through! Villains are now gonna carry their snake over the balance beam... while the Heroes are still working but they're still in it!"
"Once we're on we're just gonna drag this across!" Springtrap barked, using his free hand to swim his way over.
The Heroes were starting to slow down a bit with the snake, Vector and Yoshi trying their hardest to help get all that snake up and over. Mario and Shovel Knight were still in the water at the time.
"Heroes, you need to MOVE!" yelled Master Hand.
"We gotta pick this up, guys. I think they're already on the beam." Vector did not want his team to be in trouble in a challenge he already lost once.
"Okay, then I'll go over." Golden decided to help out the ape on the other side. "Maybe this would help the snake get over faster."
Ridley, Springtrap, Bowser, Ryu, Foxy, and Wolf in that order were all on the balance beam, with their leader nearly being halfway across.
Specter Knight from the shore was nodding in satisfaction. "This is good. I feel we would have more than enough time for our part."
"Heroes nearly have all of their snake over..."
SPLASH!
"And they do! Heroes can get to the balance beam now! But they have some time to make up."
"Drag the snake!" Meta Knight barked from beneath his mask.
"Villains are getting ready to make their way back to shore holding onto their lead over the Heroes!"
"Nice work, everyone!" Sheik clapped her hands together at their progress. "Great job!"
Donkey Kong was seen pulling on the snake rather aggressively, his head whipping back constantly to check his balance at the same time. Quickly and carefully.
Though with the amount of tugging he was doing, he was basically low-key yanking the other members of his tribe across the beam, more specifically Mario and Shovel Knight in the back.
"Woah...!?"
SPLASH!
"Shovel Knight falls in!" announced Master Hand.
Vector shook his head in frustration. "Keep moving. He'll catch up..."
"Now Shovel Knight has to swim all the way back to the start of the beam. The lack of extra strength may put the Heroes even further behind..."
Donkey Kong should have never been that aggressive handling the snake. What was he trying to accomplish doing that? Prove how strong he was in Smash? Powerful ape, yes. But physical competition in Smash Ultimate including Bowser, Ridley, Dedede, K. Rool, and Ganondorf. And he was familiar with all of them except for the one that was a contestant from Survivor - Caribbean.
Getting back to the Villains, their feet were touching the sand again, successfully making it back to the shore. Although this meant they had no other choice but to lift the snake up. There was no need to rush this portion of the challenge too much. It was a matter of simply handling it.
"Red team now getting ready to put that snake in its cradle. Great teamwork."
"Alright. Let it down slowly..." Springtrap suggested, the six members of the Villains following his orders.
"Villains have placed down their snake!"
"Let's go!" Shadow, Sheik, and Specter Knight dashed to the scene to untie the snake in hopes to find the three numbered tiles needed to solve the combination lock.
Ridley stood not too far away from them folding his arms, staring at the center of the cradle. There was a brief camera moment where the wrapped idol from underneath flashed once again.
Was he waiting for the right moment? Sure, he could have grabbed it right after they placed the snake down, yet Ridley was at the very front with the head and he had no intentions getting caught at the wrong moment.
Back with the Heroes, they were finally getting finished with the balance beam, Shovel Knight now using his hands to balance himself trying to get back to his tribe.
"Shadow trying to solve the combination lock!"
08 31 01
He gave a big tug, but it did not budge.
"No!"
Ridley turned his head around to face where the hidden immunity idol was located, before turning it some more to take a glance at the Heroes tribe. They were now approaching their cradle.
01 31 08
"...Shadow pulls the key out solving the combination lock!" The hedgehog was seen opening up the chest containing the eight rings. "Villains can now start tossing rings!"
Ridley at that point figured it was a do or die moment for him. Constantly looking back ahead to check on the rest of his team, Ridley quickly made one final dash back to the cradle, reaching his hand underneath the grab the idol.
"You got it, Sheik!" Springtrap cheered on the ninja.
"Sheik scores the first target for the Villains!"
"I knew that everyone was going to be so focused on the rings, it was the perfect opportunity for me to slowly distance myself from the rest of my tribe and snatch that idol. I thought to myself that there was no way I was going to leave that challenge without it." Ridley then pulled the idol from hammer space. "Never found an idol before... I don't know whether or not I should tell Bowser or Ryu... Surely the first thought that came to my mind was that there is no reason for them to know because the idol is mine..."
Emphasis on the 'mine' part. "No one can tell me otherwise. ...But part of me feels like if they are somehow not convinced enough to align with me, this thing right here will do it... Then again, there is no reason why they shouldn't align with me, anyway."
Canon Samus was probably at home curshing under her breath. Of course it just had to be Ridley to get it.
"Sheik scores the second target for the Villains!"
By the time Ridley made his way back to his team, Wolf briefly turned around to him in a bit of confusion. Obviously he was not even aware that he left them for a moment.
"..." But in the end, he paid it no mind. No big deal for him, really... Right?
"Heroes have now placed the snake into their cradle!"
"Okay. Hurry!" Zelda, Sonic, and Meta Knight dashed to the snake to untie the knots to retrieve the numbered tiles, Donkey Kong all the while staring. He needed to get an idol, too.
With another nice toss from Sheik, the ring successfully latched itself onto the hook, causing the paddle to slowly flip over to reveal the second 'M' in 'immunity'.
"Yes!"
"Go, girl!"
"Sheik scores the third target for the Villains! The Heroes need to hustle!"
Mario turned to look at the opposing team, wishing they were in their shoes at the time.
"Sheik scores the fourth target! ...She's gonna swap out with Specter Knight!"
Perhaps Specter was a good thrower, just as how he always throws his scythe as if it was a boomerang to attack people in the game.
"Heroes have their snake untied. ...Zelda needs to hope she gets the combination right on the first time."
As everyone was focused on Zelda, Donkey Kong took a brief look behind him...
...Nope. Not time yet.
"...No! Zelda is not right."
Yoshi covered his eyes with both of his hands.
"Specter has the fifth letter up! Three more to go for the Villains!"
"Yes, Specter!" shouted Plague from the bench.
"Come on, Zelda..." Shovel Knight mumbled.
"...Got it!"
"Zelda has solved her combination lock! They can finally start tossing the rings!"
But they needed to be both fast and precise.
Donkey Kong immediately dashed back to the cradle.
"You wanna go?"
"I'll go ahead." Now in the last season of the challenge, Meta Knight was never given a role to do, since Simon Belmont decided to try to do all of the work regarding the ring toss. Meta Knight going this time was not solely because of him wanting to make up for that, but he honestly felt that since Sonic was an even better ring thrower than him, his energy needed to be saved for the last few hooks that were right harder to snag to the increased distance.
Rings and Sonic the Hedgehog simply worked together well, anyway.
"Come on, Specter. Big toss..." Ignoring a certain ape snatching an immunity idol, Wolf had faith in Specter, the knight launching another ring into the target zone. "...Yes!"
"Specter snags the sixth ring!" In the middle of Master Hand talking, DK came back to watch the rest of the challenge unfold with his fellow team members. "...Meta Knight snags the first ring for the Heroes! They need to hope Specter misses in order for them to have a bigger chance!"
"He might get tired, Meta." Zelda told him, not wanting him to give up. Not that he was going to, of course.
"Meta Knight snags the second ring for the Heroes!"
Specter Knight took in a deep breath before he tossed away yet again. Unfortunately, the ring was on and off.
"Specter misses!"
He wanted to curse every swear word known to man right then and there, and he needed to run and grab the ring before he had another opportunity.
"Just what the Heroes were hoping for... Meta Knight..." Master Hand shifted his attention to the blue team. "Scores the third target for the Heroes! They are back in this!"
"Plague Knight immediately began to panic. People would have seen it in his face under his mask. "Hurry up... Please!"
Springtrap curled his lips, slightly shaking his head.
Getting himself together, Specter tossed again...
"...Specter Knight has his seventh letter now! One more to go! But the Heroes aren't quitting just yet!"
"Let's go, Meta Knight!" Vector clapped his hands loudly. "You can do it!"
"Can Meta Knight score again...?" The hand watched as another ring flew in the air. "Yes he can! The Heroes have four letters up now. Meta Knight is going to switch out with Sonic! Is he too little, too late...?"
"Specter's already missed before, Sonic. You have to try!" reminded Yoshi.
"Specter Knight has one ring left. One more point, and his team wins this challenge..."
The cloaked villain closed his eyes and took in a deep breath, making sure he remained focused. Just one more...
He tossed, multiple characters from his tribe all watching out of suspense with a little bit of fear...
"VILLAINS WIN IMMUNITY!"
"OH MY GOD!" Plague Knight jumped off the bench and raced over to join his team, literally directly hugging Specter Knight without thinking twice which shocked him.
"!?"
"We did it!"
"Nice!"
"Great work, guys!"
Specter felt awkward...
As for the Heroes, Sonic's jaw was dropped, realizing that he did not have enough time to even attempt at throwing. Thus, he threw the ring up in the air in disappointment. Although, simply losing immunity was too big of a problem to even worry about that.
"You did good!" Plague smirked.
Specter rolled whatever eyes he had. "Just don't do that again. You're lucky I didn't push you into the sand..."
"...Sorry..."
"Alright, Villains." The Survivor host proceeded to give the immunity idol to Sheik. "You wanted to win again, and you did. You have now won three challenges in a row. All ten of you will be safe once again at tribal. You guys can come grab your reward and head on back to camp."
As Foxy, Ryu, and Springtrap went on to retrieve all of the fishing gear before leaving, the nine, soon to be eight Heroes remained at the beach, not being in the best of moods to say the least.
"Heroes, got nothing for ya but another date with me at Tribal Council. You have the rest of the day to figure out who's going this time. I'll see ya tonight."
"The only thing that has gone right for this tribe thus far is that we managed to get a fire going without flint before we received it at our first tribal." Shovel Knight noted. "With us wanting to keep morale as high as possible, losing three challenges in a row does not really help. Poor Sonic never really had an opportunity to participate, and I pretty much feel that his torch possibly getting snuffed tonight is going to put more than enough salt on the wound..."
(The lock combination for the puzzle represents the day SSBB was released.)
Well I guess the Heroes are the underdogs of this season. Shovel Knight said himself that the only thing they had going for them was the early fire they created on their own...
Side note,... for the first time in my series, idols were found in an immunity challenge. I actually think it's a really great idea! I don't know if real Survivor does this anymore (since I don't actually watch the show at all these days because... I think it's a bunch of crap (I said what I said)).
Ridley of all people has an idol, and Donkey Kong has found his second idol in this series, tying Wolf who found two idols in the same season in Kodai Island.
So,... who is going home for the Heroes? I appreciate everyone to review as usual, and I will see you all next chapter for the vote off!
(One more thing... I have somehow managed to mess up on the poll again. Though I don't need to reset again (thankfully), I could have sworn I put Ryu on the poll but I apparently didn't and I didn't even know until I realized there were only 19 out of 20 names down. And it wouldn't be fair to Ryu fans if I just ignored it, so to everyone that is interesting in voting for Ryu as somebody to root for this season he's now on there. Maybe this could be promotion for him or something. Idk...)
