Survivor - Heroes vs Villains

Chapter 19 - Day 16

Back again!

So yeah, that was quite the blindside of Foxy last tribal. Memorial services are in order... These are sad times, man...

But anyway moving on, fourteen players left in the game now. Eight villains, six heroes. This is just going to cover day sixteen and then we have another immunity challenge afterwards.

(We're also getting closer to revealing on what season six is going to be, too!)

EPISODE SIX: Am I Really Doing This Again?

La Vega

Night 15

Donkey Kong, Bowser, Yoshi, Wolf, Golden, Springtrap

-/-

It was an elimination that rivaled Meta Knight's of the most shocking blindside of the season thus far, a Tribal Council that broke a few records here and there.

The remaining Survivor players all returned to their shelter, their minds still processing the night.

"Donkey Kong plays an idol at the final fifteen once again." Wolf O'Donnell commented. "Seriously, man. You're good."

"I had a feeling it was between me and Golden." The ape smirked. "I knew I was the obvious choice, but I had a dilemma going on in my mind. Long story short, I did not want to be another Espio, but at the same time I knew I had to play my idol on just the right person."

"Well your risky play worked out in your favor. Congrats." Springtrap gave him some credit for it.

Bowser openly stomped his foot in anger. "I knew we should have voted for Yoshi. But the dude just wouldn't listen! This is exactly what happens when you don't go after the least likely person to pull out an idol. Putting a safe vote plan in place is not the end of the world, and Foxy found out the hard way. So it's kind of what he gets,... but still."

Was there perhaps a more secret meaning on his end behind the 'what he gets' part?

Yoshi blinked in reaction. "Oh, so there were plans of me going home after all..."

"Yeah, we only expected Donkey Kong to play an idol for himself." Wolf replied. "Golden was a little less likely and he was not as threatening as DK."

"Okay, okay. It's fine, really." The reptile runaway sighed. "I'm just glad that I'm still here..."

"Why Foxy, though?" Kevin 'Springtrap' Davis asked out of curiosity. "What did he exactly do?"

"We just felt that he was the smartest out of you four." Golden responded. "He could have made another deep run because he had a great mind for the game, and so he had potential to be a major strategic threat."

"For once, something has gone my way this season." It was without a doubt DK's proudest moment in the game yet. "Sure, I wanted to bring my idol with me to the merge and I could have used it for a later time, but my friend's life was on the line. And I didn't want to see another hero getting the boot. I am so over it. So the idol was meant to spice things up a little bit. I'll admit, though. I wouldn't have pulled that off had it not been for the extra help..."

Okay, so Wolf and Springtrap separated themselves from the rest of the tribe on the beach.

"We should have known better." The pilot was beyond disappointed. "Bowser was right. We should have just wrote down Yoshi and that should have been the end of it. Foxy would still be here right now, and we should have talked him out of the Golden plan."

"Alright, so we take part of the blame for that." Springtrap agreed. "Foxy and I could have had some hard feelings toward each other over Val, but we actually got along pretty well. Such a shame to see a sharp strategic player in him go home this early."

"Wanna know the worst thing about this? Our numbers are evened up over here. Three heroes, three villains... I dunno what's gonna happen now. Whatever happens, we can't lose immunity again, because now our necks are on the line. It only takes one person to flip over and one of us is sent home next."

"Unless we all draw rocks, but that's a discussion for another time." Springtrap felt it best to just focus on the elimination at that point. "But... I can't afford either of us going home next. Not even Bowser. The other villains are gonna be shocked about this one..."

"We gotta have each other's backs. You're my ride or die and I think you know it already."

"My style of play coming into this season was to be cool and lie low, while taking opportunities to develop some relationships out here in order to build a strong alliance. Coming over here, I thought I had it made. I had a good relationship with Foxy, I'm really having a great relationship with Springtrap, and Bowser and I had our thing before. It's really frustrating seeing one of your boys going out like that, especially since once again, Foxy didn't even have the majority of the votes. Now immunity idols are gonna haunt the poor kid for the rest of his life..." Was he going to get nightmares about them or something? What if they grew into large monsters in his dreams showing sharp teeth to bite his head off? "Worst case scenario, we go back to tribal and the rest of the villains on here will be going home. I don't want that to happen. So now I need to make it a mission to help protect my alliance in any way I can. This can't happen anymore."

Springtrap heaved a sigh, fearing the worst. "I have no plans on going out this early..."

"Neither do I." Wolf shook and eyed him in the darkness. "Look,... we'll look out for each other. If we hear each other's names, we'll figure out what to do. I can not afford to let anything happen to you."

"Heh." He snickered in reply. "Protective, aren't ya?"

"Hey," The lupine placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm the type to slit peoples throats while looking out for my boys at the same time, as long as I trust them. But if you ain't with me, you against me."

Time to have a contest to see which real life Survivor castaway Wolf got the message from. Winner was to receive a million dollars on the spot without even having to compete on the actual show.

"So I was pretty much on the chopping block tonight." Yoshi spoke out. "I was the one that was supposed to go home, but the villains targeted the wrong person, and Foxy got blindsided! Wow! This isn't really what I expected. I was only hoping that it wasn't me gong home. But all three of the heroes are still on the beach, and now we're even numbered with this villains. Hahaha, I'll take it! Now we have a fighting chance!"

But,... did Yoshi really know everything? Did he really know why Donkey Kong chose to play his idol on Golden and not for him or the ape himself?

Perhaps that was a topic for another time... Soon.

For the time being, Donkey Kong and Bowser were having a talk behind the shelter.

"Well, he's out." The furry grinned at the Koopa. "Thank you for keeping your word. You chose to save one of my allies rather than sticking to your tribe alliance. My heart was racing in my chest when you told me to play for Golden. And to be honest, I was on the edge of my seat until his name came up at tribal."

"Bwahaha!" Shh! Not so loud, Bowser! The rest of the tribe was around! "I wanted to show you that I was serious. That was why I revealed our plan to you so that you could take advantage of it."

"While me and Donkey Kong were talking, I decided to be straightforward and leaked our plan over to him. I told him that if the vote was going to be for Golden, and that if he had an idol, he needed to play it on him. And then I told him to write down Foxy, because I wanted him out of here. I knew I had to look like I was pissed off at tribal pretending I didn't know a damn thing about it, when it was me the whole time! These other villains don't know nothin'!" Ha! A confession! There was something shady going on by the way the camera continued to focus on Bowser during the elimination. So if the fans felt the urge to throw hate mail somebody's way, Bowser was right there. He did it. "It wasn't just because he wasn't willing to listen to the Yoshi plan. He's smart and strategic, and I haven't forgotten about what Ridley said. Part of me actually feels interested in working DK and Golden. Ridley could pretty much be right. I need more allies out here anyway if I'm gonna get far in this. This is my second chance and I ain't gonna be scared of nobody."

"So Ridley and Ryu are your two closest allies from the villains, and you want me and Golden in on it to form another Strong Guys Alliance...?" He was just informed of Bowser's true intentions behind his move. "...You sure this isn't Ryu's idea?"

"Ryu was actually pretty hesitant on doing this again, knowing what happened to him the last time. But Ridley is all for it, and so am I. I don't know how he's handling Vector on Valverde, but look at this man... You, Golden, and Yoshi are part of the heroes who are almost out of numbers, and you and Golden are the two strongest of them all. Both of you are gonna be physical threats for the immunity challenges, anyway. Why not use us three for back up?"

"Here comes Golden..." DK managed to see somewhat of a creepy pair of eyes in the distance. Those who played the FNAF games had a better chance of understanding. "You can keep going..."

"Dude, I'm being dead serious right now." One could tell that he indeed meant that judging by the sudden change in his voice. "It could be us six as a secret core alliance. And if we're all at the merge, we would just need one more person to vote with us and we'll take control of the game."

"Am I rudely interrupting something?" The bear had his hands behind his back. "Because Yoshi is starting to wonder what you two are doing."

"We're discussing future plans." Bowser told him in reply, turning around to make his way back to the shelter. "DK, fill him in on everything I just said. We'll talk."

"We'll talk more for sure." Kong making sure he made a mental note of that.

Golden turned to watch the koopa walk away. "Thank you, Bowser. Because of you I'm still here."

"Don't mention it. I'll find time to talk to you tomorrow."

"There used to be all ten of us villains sticking together, with the overall mission to take down all the heroes. But hey, guess I'm the first one of them to break tribe lines. Foxy has no idea how he really got voted off, but when he sees this, he's gonna be like 'Damn. Of allll people, why did it have to be Bowser to do it? At this point in my Survivor career, people might already be sick of me, but I ain't going nowhere until I finally win Survivor. The real bloodbath has just begun."

Day 16

"Come on in!"

Valverde being the victors of the previous challenge all came in to see the Master Hand, one by one stepping on the red mat with Ryu holding the team's flag.

"Valverde, get your first look at the new La Vega tribe."

Vector widened his eyes. "What the-"

Zelda literally gasped, covering her mouths with both hands.

"!?" Shadow dropped his jaw almost immediately. "What...?"

"Are you serious?" Ridley could not have believed it.

"Foxy voted out at the last Tribal Council." The heroes of the team even had the audacity to smile, as if they were trying to laugh in the Villains' faces about it.

"I am downright speechless about this..." Shovel Knight shook in disbelief. "What happened?"

"Wow..." Ryu did not find enough words to describe the thoughts entering his mind. "That's unbelievable..."

"That's crazy..." Plague Knight commented.

"Obviously, a major reaction from the other tribe." Master Hand decided to call on the one person that did not react verbally. "Specter Knight, care to explain why Foxy going home is such a shocker for everyone?"

"Well of course he was one of the biggest strategic players on his season. He was pretty successful despite him not making it all the way to the finish. He's highly intelligent of a player. Seeing him being sent home this early is quite a game changer. He was obviously blindsided. There was no way that entire tribe did something such as... unanimously voting him off for instance. Something happened over there, and I do not know how long it will take for the rest of us to learn the story behind it..."

"And on the other hand, Vector, you're grinning. You seem really happy about this!" Master Hand realized.

"Don't get me wrong. Foxy going home early on is kinda sad to see. Me and him share sixth place together and we both made deep runs in our last season. If I went home in his spot, I'd be completely devastated. At the same time, what I'm mainly happy about is seeing the rest of the heroes here. They all made it all alive, so I guess they survived whatever attack the villains tried to put on them."

Oh, Vector. If only he knew...

"Alright." Time to get business going for that day. "You guys ready to get to today's reward challenge? For today's challenge, you are gonna race up a cargo net where you will be on top of a tower. You will then pull a heavy cart up, hop in, and careen down to the bottom where you will find a choice between two Survivor table mazes. First tribe gets first choice, second tribe chooses which ever one is left. You will then work together to get that maze to the top of an even taller tower where two players will maneuver three balls through the maze. First tribe to finish gets the reward. Wanna know what you're playing for?"

"Yes!"

"Bring it."

"Winning tribe that finishes... will have a chef that will come to your camp and cook for you!"

! !

Bowser clapped his hands on his head. "Oh, Star Spirits... They're gonna cook for me?"

Not just for King Bowser, but for the rest of the La Vega tribe, if they were able to manage a win. Valverde was competing as well. Sigh... Some people simply thought the world revolved around them.

"You will sit back and enjoy chicken, garlic shrimp, salads, and to finish it off, cheesecake."

"Oh, Chaos." Whatever food the Survivor crew had to offer, Vector was taking it. "We are getting that now!'

"If you guys can win today." Yes... As just said. People were so desperate for food they already had the mindset that they were winning the challenge. They were not the Survivor Gods. Therefore, they were unable to predict the future.

"Hmph..." Ridley formed a smirk. "Perhaps it would be nice to be able to not do anything for once. I've been doing nothing but maintain the shelter for the past sixteen days. Having somebody doing something for me sounds interesting in itself."

What was up with that cocky attitudes that day?

"Alright, so this is obviously worth playing for." Master Hand pretty much got the idea. "When we first did this as an immunity challenge in Survivor - Mexico, Golden, Ryu, Plague Knight, and Specter Knight all have done this challenge. Both of the knight were winners. Ryu and Golden lost and they both went to Tribal Council that day. Today we have three of them on one tribe, Golden on the other by himself. Let's see what happens."

"But before we get started, Valverde, you have not one, but two people you must sit out. Keep in mind, you can not sit out the same people in back to back challenge. Plague Knight just sat out yesterday, he must participate. Who's sitting out today?"

"We need both strength and brain today." Ryu whispered to his teammates. "Both departments need people..."

"And whoever sits out today has to compete in the immunity challenge." Vector reminded them.

They ended up having a mini-discussion before the host was ready, Specter Knight raising a hand.

"We are going to sit out Shovel Knight and Shadow."

Interesting...

"Alright. Shovel Knight, Shadow, take your spot on the sit out bench." Master Hand pointed. "Everybody else, I'm gonna give you a minute to strategize and we'll get started."

"I've never really sat out of a challenge before." Shovel Knight whispered Shadow's way walking over to the bench.

"My first time sitting out was at the third immunity challenge this season. I don't really like it, but it only shows that we're needed for the immunity challenge. Plague Knight and Zelda can sit out then..."

-/-

"Alright, here we go. Playing for reward. Survivors ready?"

The participating players were all ready for take off.

"...GO!"

No need telling them twice. La Vega and Valverde sprinted straight to the cargo net. The twelve castaways acted as if they were all spiders being on all fours crawling their way up, especially given the view from the underside.

"Everybody up." Springtrap motioned.

"Come on, come on." Vector grabbed Zelda's hand pulling her onto the platform.

Ridley and Donkey Kong from the respective teams grabbed the rope that was needed to pull up their cart, more tribe members helping along as more of the rope became available for them to pull on.

"You need to pull your cart with all your might! They are heavy!"

A few of the castaways began to chant. "Pull! Pull! Pull!"

"La Vega is going to be the first to get their cart up, Valverde right behind. Everybody in! Let's go!"

"We're in, we're in." Wolf yelled. "Push off now!"

Springtrap and Donkey Kong grabbed onto the railing and push themselves along, Ridley and Specter Knight doing the same on Valverde. Moments later their carts were seen racing their way down until they crashed right into piles of sand.

"There is no time to waste! Get everybody out!"

"Run, run, run!" Bowser and his fellow tribe members all dashed right to the mazes. "Hurry up!"

The seven men on La Vega were the first to reach their mat.

"La Vega has first choice. Which maze do you choose? 1 or 2?"

Golden was the one to make the decision for the team. "Get this one! This one!"

"2! 2!" Yoshi raised two fingers in the air.

"La Vega is going to choose the obstacle maze! The same maze Plague Knight and Specter Knight won in their season!" They were all seen holding onto the handles as they lifted their maze up began to carry it to another cart that was needed to pull the table maze along.

Perhaps Golden decided to steal Ryu and the knights' puzzle on purpose just so they did not have the advantage, knowing they had no other choice but to go for the traditional maze.

"Once you place your maze on top of your cart, two tribe members need to head to the top of the tower to help pull the maze along." The gloved hand reminded. "It is going to be Donkey Kong and Bowser going up for La Vega. ...Ridley and Vector are going up for Valverde."

La Vega had a slight lead.

Unsurprisingly, Donkey Kong managed to be the first of all four to climb up the stairs and make it to the top of the tower.

"I'm an old man." Bowser complained, still trying to move as fast as he could have. "These legs aren't what they used to be..."

When the Koopa was close enough, his longtime fellow tribe member yanked his hand and moved him along.

"La Vega is gonna start pulling their cart along."

The rest of blue at the bottom of the tower grabbed onto the handles of the maze.

"We're gonna do a three, two, one, pull." Golden felt they needed to have a rhythm in place.

"Valverde can start pulling up their cart."

"Let's do a three, two, one, pull." Plague Knight had the same strategy. "Hurry up."

Oh, come on!

"Goddesses..." Zelda knew that the cart was not going to be exactly the lightest object to pull up.

"Come on, Valverde!" Ryu talked. "We got this!"

"Three, two, one!"

"Three, two, one!"

"Both tribes have a system in place. This is where a little teamwork is going to kick in. Put all your strength to good use right here!"

"DK your team is actually in the lead."

"We are, but I don't wanna speak too soon." Donkey Kong told Bowser that he had no plans on jinxing anything.

"La Vega gets to the top first with their maze!"

"Alright, lift it up! Get it on the pole!"

"Wolf, get ready." Apparently Golden and Wolf were going to be the ones to handle the maze.

"I'm always ready."

Hmm... This was the second time the mercenary was put on a puzzle this season. Was he really not that bad at them? The only other person that was known to be smart at puzzles was Golden coming from the old Brains tribe. And also, all of the other known puzzle solvers were on the other team. Zelda, Plague Knight, and Shovel Knight.

"Blue can get started! Zelda and Plague Knight are going to be on the puzzle for Valverde."

Wolf and Golden were holding onto the handles at the top of the maze trying to maneuver the first through.

"Take your time on this, guys." After all that rush, now Springtrap was telling the team to slow down. "It's best to work your way through it and try to think this out."

"Lean a little right..." The bear told Wolf. Now if Golden selected the traditional maze, maybe his team would have had the advantage. However, in the brief moment when he was deciding for the team, he likely remembered that it was the maze the swapped team in Toro back in Survivor - Mexico where his tribe actually lost. "Lift it up."

"Up... Right..." Plague Knight and Zelda were learning on how the traditional maze worked. They only had to worry about the whole balancing part was where there were spaces on the side of the maze where the ball had the possibility of slipping off.

"Okay, there's a dead end up ahead so we're gonna try to avoid that..."

On the other hand, La Vega had a lot more balancing to do. They were diamond shapes all over and bars that all had potential to block the ball in its path. All this made it much easier for the ball to roll off the maze.

"Right, right, right..."

Wolf immediately listened to Golden's command swiftly dodging the ledge.

"Keep it slow right here. We can't mess this up."

They both took their time as they were at the end of the maze trying to land their ball in one of the holes.

"...Alright. We have it."

"La Vega has their first ball in! Two more to go!" Master Hand quickly switched over to check on the other team. "Specter Knight on red being the third eye for Valverde."

The two characters on the maze followed the scythe wielder's orders and quickly leaned the maze to the right, managing to avoid an unblocked edge of their traditional maze.

"Valverde with a nice move. Both teams are making progress."

"Alright, let's go nice and slow right here." Zelda suggested to Plague Knight. "Settle... Down a little bit. ...Yes!"

"Valverde has one ball in! Both tribes are in this!"

"Okay. Just remember the path you took the first time." Specter Knight told them keeping his arms folded.

"La Vega's trying to land their second ball in. But they have quite a few obstacles to deal with..."

"Ugh!" Golden needed to completely lift his side up for the ball to slide past the bar.

"Just stay with us, man..." Wolf mumbled.

"Up... right..." Plague Knight quietly muttered to Zelda.

"Can La Vega land their second ball in..."

"Alright. We got it!"

"Yes they can!"

O'Donnell promptly grabbed the last ball as he and Golden began to start navigating it through.

"Okay, now keep calm. We're at the end." Zelda did not want Plague to start panicking.

"Slow... slow..." Specter Knight watched, not wanting a mistake from either of them. "There we go."

"Valverde has their second ball in! Both tribes only have one ball left. Either team can win this!"

"We might have to speed it up a little bit, Zelda." Plague briefly glanced over at the other team out of worry and fear. "I don't want us to lose this..."

"Okay, well don't rush too much, or else it's not going to get us anywhere."

"Take your time, take your time." Donkey Kong spoke quietly. "No need to do anything crazy. You're getting ready to be at the most difficult part with the bar right in the middle of it."

"Golden, down..." Wolf mumbled, the brainiac doing just that. Immediately, the Smasher raised his end a little higher to get around the tough spot.

"Alright, settle." DK held his hands out. "You two are just at the end. Do not rush this or you two will have to start all over again."

"Straight down, straight down..." Plague talked with Zelda, suddenly out of nowhere tilting his end of the table to the right.

"Plague, relax..." Specter nearly widened whatever eyes he had.

"La Vega is nearing the end of the maze... Can they get their ball to drop in..."

For a closer look, the final ball for blue was just about to land in the hole... only for it to move in and out of it.

"Come on..." Wolf mumbled out of annoyance.

"Valverde is nearing the end. It's gonna be very close..."

"If we can just get it in there..." Zelda kept her focus, her ball slowly rolling towards the final hole. Literally neck and neck.

All La Vega had to do was to land theirs and made sure the ball stayed in.

"Go in..." Golden glared at his ball, trying to get it to fall in the hole once again.

Plague Knight and Zelda's ball was right near its hole, but like La Vega's, their ball also went in and out.

"We got it! We got it!"

"LA VEGA WINS REWARD!"

Donkey Kong clapped his hands loudly with the rest of the team cheering. "Yeah! We did it!"

"We finally won something!" Of course it was special moment for Yoshi and the other two Heroes in the tribe

"Phew..." Golden wiped some sweat. "I was mentally preparing for the worst."

Plague Knight turned back around frustrated shaking his head around.

"We were right there..." Zelda sighed in disappointment.

"Well, that's that I suppose." Shovel got up from his spot from the sit out bench. "We'll just retrieve some fish at the camp."

"My apologies, everyone..."

"Don't apologize, Zel." Vector exhaled placing his hands on his hips. "This is just for a reward."

"We're gonna eat good today, fellas!" Bowser pumped a fist in the air out of excitement.

"Alright, La Vega. Best reward of the season so far, and a chef will be cooking for you back at camp. There's gonna be a lot of food for you all. Grab your stuff, head back to camp, and enjoy."

"We sure will." Koopa immediately grabbed his bag and the blue team made their way towards to stairs. "No more work for the rest of the day."

Ridley kind of felt jealous by that remark giving the frustrated expression on his face. He literally made a similar comment about that before the challenge began. The one thing that saved Bowser's life was that he was Ridley's main ally.

"Valverde, got nothing for you. Grab your stuff and head back to camp."

"A bit disappointing to lose out on such a great reward, but there's another thing that has me concerned." said Shovel Knight. "Shadow and I were discussing Foxy's elimination during the challenge."

And?

"We all share the same season and the two of us knew very well how smart of a player he was. How in the world did he get taken out like that? Like Specter said himself, it was likely some sort of blindside that took place over there. Whatever the case may be, I have a feeling that this game is really starting. And if that's the case, it is something that I should be ready for. If it's starting to move rather quickly, perhaps as a player I would need to be able to keep up with it. I signed up for this competition once again, and this time I am hoping I would be able to handle it all. That was definitely not the first blindside of the season, and it likely is not going to be the last."

Sweet. So other than the double elimination twist, this was the first time Yoshi, Golden, and Donkey Kong won something. Sure it was just for a reward, but they were set to get some food in their system and any win for anything is nice.

And with the other team, they are likely going to discuss what possibly could have happened regarding Foxy going home. It's all Bowser's fault... Like he said himself. It just had to be Bowser, right? Not anyone else?

Any way, I will see you all later.
