Well, on we go. No reviews, much to my disappointment, but okay.

Chapter One

A New Start

(Usaka Line Train, en route to Usaka)

Two teenage girls with larger-than-average chests sat across from each other in a private compartment, neither in a particularly fine mood. Both wore a blue sailor-style schoolgirl uniform, with one wearing a red scarf around her neck. Her eyes were closed as she thought over the reason she was here.

(Shinobi High Council chamber, two days earlier)

The members of the Shinobi council took their seats, and the head of the council called out, "Bring in the accused." The doors opened, and the prisoner, the girl with the red scarf, was brought forward. Taking her place, she waited. The head spoke to her. "Asuka of Hanzo Academy, you stand accused of a variety of charges. However, recent developments have revealed enough evidence to withdraw all but one charge." Keeping her gaze on him, Asuka said nothing. He continued. "To the charge of attacking your classmate, how do you plead?" Closing her eyes, the brunette replied, "Guilty."

As the councilors whispered amongst themselves, the head called out, "There will be order in this council!" Facing Asuka, he continued. "You are found guilty as charged. As such, you are hereby expelled from the Shinobi world. Your weapons will be returned to your grandfather, and your scroll will be burned." Asuka nodded in defeat. The council head continued. "Three civilian schools have been chosen from a list for you to choose to attend. You have until the start of the new school year to make your decision." Facing the guards, he ordered, "Take her to her family."

(Present)

Asuka's eyes opened to glance at her companion, a tan-skinned girl who's eyes were closed, the former sighing to herself, getting the attention of the latter. "How'd you get expelled, Asuka?" The brunette replied, "I figured out a guy got possessed by a Yoma, but Ikaruga and the others didn't believe me. So when they killed him, and the Yoma popped out, I snapped." Closing her eyes, she added, "Next thing I remember is standing over Ikaruga with a kunai in my hand..."

The tan-skinned girl sighed, and said, "Better than my story. A group of renegades attacked us, I was the only survivor, and turned myself in." Looking out the window, she added, "Most of my charges were dropped, too. All except stealing the Super Secret Shinobi Scroll." Asuka looked out the window as well, then asked, "So what school did you choose, Homura?" The former leader of the Crimson Squad replied, "Jurin Academy. I read that they had tutoring, which I think I'm going to need." Her friend answered, "I chose it, too, because it's the farthest from Hanzo Academy."

Homura nodded, then asked, "So how many friends do you think you'll make there?" The brunette shrugged. "I'm not planning on making a lot." A knock came on the compartment door, and the conductor entered wheeling in a tray with tea. "Would either of you like some tea?" The tan-skinned girl spoke up, "Yes, thank you." Asuka replied, "Thank you." As they sipped their tea, they saw the city of Usaka in the distance, with the tan-skinned girl saying, "Well, let's see what this city's like." The brunette nodded in agreement.

(A few minutes later)

As they disembarked from the train station, each carrying their suitcases, they looked around for the woman they would be staying with while they were here. They didn't have to wait long. "You must be Asuka and Homura." They faced her, and nodded. Homura spoke up first. "Mira Hirasu, I presume?" Mira nodded with a smile. "That's right. Come on." She led them to the car, and when their suitcases were in, and they were in their seats, she told them, "We're heading to Jurin Academy first, to get everything taken care of, and to pick up my son and daughter."

Asuka spoke up. "You have a son?" Mira nodded. "Yep, he was the top of his class last year. He's going to be a third year for this schoolyear." The tan-skinned girl shared a glance with the brunette, but neither said anything. Their host, noticing their shared glance, commented, "Oh, he's not a pervert, if that's what you're worried about. In fact, he politely rejects love confessions." The two former Shinobi looked at each other in surprise. "That's not something you hear about a boy every day." Mira laughed in the driver's seat.

Soon, they were in the principal's office, and he was going over the paperwork with them. Once it was finished, he faced them both and said, "That should cover it. Welcome to Jurin Academy." They both bowed politely, with the principal facing Mira. "Hirasu-chan, please remain a moment. I need to speak to you about something." The two girls walked out of the office, and took note of something happening outside, so they went to see what it was. Once they got there, they saw what looked like a giant snake-like robot with a bar displaying 2100 next to it, and a young man in the male uniform with some kind of device attached to his arm.

Across from him stood a young man in the same uniform, with a similar device, but with a warrior with a cape and shield with a bar displaying 2800 on it above him. "Come on, Hirasu! How do you always do this?!" Both former Shinobi turned to the speaker, the one with the robot, then turned to the other, who simply replied, "It's not about how hard you hit, Yamada, but how smart you play. Lightray Gearfried, attack his Cyber Dragon! Shining Sword Assault!" The warrior lunged forward, his sword flashing with light, before slicing the robot in half, which exploded, its master flying back.

(Jiro: 0)

(Akiru: WIN)

As Asuka stared in shock, Homura turned to a nearby student. "Excuse me. What just happened?" The student faced her. "Hm? Oh, you must be the new transfer students. They were just playing some Duel Monsters, is all. Hirasu-kun is the best Duelist in the school." Jiro got up, growling to himself. "I'll beat you, Akiru Hirasu, if it's the last thing I do!" His opponent simply replied, "You know where to find me during recess." The loser stormed off while Akiru put his deck into his belt pocket, then noticed the two former Shinobi looking at him. "Hm? Can I help you?"

Asuka spoke up. "A-Are you related to a Mina Hirasu?" Raising an eyebrow, the boy asked, "How do you know Mom?" Mira happened to walk over at that point. "Because they're going to be staying with us for the schoolyear, Akiru." Nodding in understanding, he said, "Right, you told us about that last night." Facing them again, he bowed politely, and said, "It's nice to meet you. My name is Akiru Hirasu." Asuka spoke up first after clearing her throat. "I'm Asuka Shirokage." As she bowed, Homura spoke up. "My name is Homura Shinkukage." The boy nodded, then got tackled from behind.

Mira made a displeased groan, saying, "Kotori, get off of your brother." The younger of the two Hirasu siblings got off her brother as he got up. "That's an interesting way of saying hello, Kotori." His sister replied, "The entrance exam was so boring! I'm actually looking forward to getting wiped out by you in our Duel later!" Her brother snorted, saying, "That's a switch." She replied, "It's a lot more exciting than answering questions on a piece of paper!" The brunette and the tan-skinned girl looked at each other in confusion, to which Akiru explained, "She's talking about Duel Monsters."

His mother spoke up. "Come on, you can talk to them about Dueling after they're settled in." Akiru chuckled, saying, "Got it." After getting everything into their new room, the two former Shinobi walked out to where Akiru and Kotori were, just in time to see her write 0 on a piece of paper. "Good game, onii-chan." He replied, "You know I hate it when you call me that." She giggled to herself, heading to her room with her Deck while Akiru's got his back into his pocket, his two new housemates sitting across from in on the couch. "So, what is Dueling?"

The male Duelist replied, "It's a card game that was originally based on Egyptian mythology, but over time, they added more ideas to it, making it complex." Asuka asked him, "Is it easy to learn?" He replied, "Easy to learn the basics, but it can take years to learn really good combos. Ever since a couple friends I have graduated and left Usaka for their jobs, I haven't had any significant competition." Both girls leaned in, with Homura speaking up for both of them. "Can you teach us?"

Chuckling, he said, "Sure, but you will need to build your own personalized Decks. I have some spare cards I don't need that you can start with." They both nodded, and admitted, "We weren't expecting to make a lot of friends here, yet we already have one on the first day, Hirasu-kun." Akiru raised his hand, and said, "Please, call me Akiru. I don't like honorifics." They both chuckled and nodded.

A/N

You weren't expecting me to have them Dueling that quickly, were you? Stories like this take time and planning, as I have learned over the years I've been on this site. And don't worry about what Decks they're going to have. I've already made my selections for that.
