February 1 2024, Operation Unmasked world (opening phase)

Planet Earth. It's a big blue ball in space. To those looking at it from a distance nobody who would expect that it is the center of a major military campaign. Operation Unmasked world is the name that was given to the operation to reclaim this world from the incubators by the Interplanetary allied armies. The Precursor organization to the Internal Fleet Systems organization of the modern era. Since time immemorial both factions have been in constant conflict over the future of the universe but recently the rise of the Calamity Homu has escalated the war to a breaking point.

The Calamity Homu is a witch. A magical beast with the power to destroy the entire cosmos. While similar beasts have been created by the incubators before and are the root of the conflict between the IAA and the incubators. This beast is far more powerful and completely out of their control to the point where it has taken over their civilization and appointed itself the demon emperor of destruction.

The IAA believes that by severing its connection to the Earth it will be able to weaken the Calamity Homu to the point where it can be fought and killed. And bring a decisive end to this long war. Finally bringing peace and freedom to the stars.

A number of giant robots are preparing to perform atmospheric re-entry. These robots the original waltzers are similar in design to the Zaku only with bulkier armor and black and red paint jobs to designate them as special operation types. As the five Waltzers (and yes that is the mechs name.) streak thru the sky like meteors the team leader Kagami Ichijin quickly briefs them on their mission once more.

"Alright people we're heading straight into the eye of the calamity planet Earth. The mission is simple we will be landing and hiding our Waltzers in Kamihama to avoid detection from the Calamity. Rookie its your job to guide us there and get us to Mikitihara in one piece."

"It's not Rookie! It's Touka! Touka Satomi!" Touka yelled out annoyed at the perceived lack of respect.

"You shouldn't be disrespecting one-sama like that you know." Another alien chimed in. A plant girl of the same species like Kagami only with loose hair and always shut eyes with a serene and pleasant aura to her.

"Touka just wants to prove herself Tetsuya." Kagemusha replies to the plant girl from before. Whose name is revealed to be Tetsuya Dattaga a childhood friend of Kagami's. "Isn't that right Saitou."

Kagemusha defers to Saitou Dattaga. Tetsuya's older brother, a chubby and nerdy scientist who merely stutters and panics at being put on the spot. Leading Tetsuya to admonish Kagemusha and forcing the latter to apologize.

"Focus everyone." Kagami orders. "We're heading to the drop zone."

"Roger!" Everyone else comments. As the mecha descended into the planet and engaged their cloaking devices as they land some distance outside the city.

As the five members exit their mechs and touch down on the ground. With the Reibai struggling to get used with the much more polluted atmosphere of Earth. With Saitou in particular complaining about the stench of the air. Touka makes an important observation. "So, there's something i'm curious about. Between three plant aliens and a guy who refuses to take off his mask. How are we supposed to walk around the city without drawing attention to ourselves?"

"I refuse to take off my mask for an important reason!" Kagemusha complains to Touka.

Kagami explains. "Do not worry. The mahou drivers we all have come with a disguise app." As she points to the belt devices that all of them are wearing. As Kagami presses a button she transforms into a human woman a barefooted karateka with a long ponytail. "See what I mean?" And with that Tetsuya and Saitou transform into a shrine maiden and a fat tourist respectively. And Kagemusha transforms into a young student with black hair and pale skin with sunglasses and a scarf.

Touka paused for a moment upon seeing the transformations and laughed at how stereotypical the plant aliens were in their choices. Before looking at Kagemusha and muttering. "You look kinda familiar in that disguise." Then she shrugs it off saying. "Anyways follow me. I know a place where we can get a base set up." The group followed the little girl into the city as they blended into the city crowds.

Chapter 8: Dire situations

The mahou driver system. Originally an attempt to replace body parts with virtual replicas composed of digital material. This digital material was meant to prevent rejection and serve as a way to rapidly standardize medical equipment. But its ability to enhance body and mind soon found a new purpose on the battlefield. It is now the year Second history 8932, The so called singularity has long become a thing of legend and myth. And a new civilization has risen from the ashes of the old.

Last time...

Inside the girls restroom. Madoka Kaname is finishing up her business. When a familiar gruff voice speaks to her from another stall.

"Hey got any toilet paper?" The husky voice asked the young girl.

"Oh sure! Miss?" Madoka answered as she looked around for extra toilet paper in her stall.

"It's Dire." The voice from the other stall replied. "Just stowed away into the ship right now. Gonna sabotage it and kill all the crew."

"That's a nice name." Madoka replied. "Still I don't think that sabotaging the ship and killing everyone is a good thing thought. Oh i've found some toilet paper. I'll pass it down right away."

Then a robotic arm violently bursts out from the left side of Madoka's bathroom stall grabs her throat and chokes her until she falls unconscious. Madoka struggles but the mechanical arm is too powerful and nearly strangles the poor child to death.

When Madoka faints she loses grip on the toilet paper and it rolls into the opposite stall as well causing her to remark. "Thanks for the toiler paper... And the hostage..." As Dire is revealed by entering the stall to kidnap her. Grabbing the unconscious girl like a sack of potatoes and walking off the bathroom. The robotic wolf hides in his cardboard box and prepares his next move.

Jun 19 s.h. 8932 Skypatrol

"Welcome everyone to Illya's castle! With your host Illyasvel Von Einzbern!" The host in the television screen hammily yelled out as a little albino girl in a purple dress entered the stage to a cheering crowd.

"Guten morning and welcome to Illya's castle! Today we have an amazing show for all of you! Isn't that right Berserker?"

A giant mountain of a man with a sword ax stood next to Illya and roared in approval alongside the little girl.

Illya continued on with her introductions. "Anyways, our special guests today are Mister Francis Stuart. A teacher who is looking for a rated E for everyone fun time!" The audience claps for the teacher a young blonde man with long hair, pink tinted glasses, and a blue jacket with a turtleneck. "Next we have local clinic owner and famed neurosurgeon Twice H. Pieceman!" A biseinen man in a white trench coat and suit waved to the audience as it cheered. "And finally an executioner from the Magus association whose wish for Christmas is a bulletproof jacket. Bazzett McFraga!" And finally a young woman with purple hair in a boyish cut and a brown form fitting suit and tie.

The main members of the Resistance except Nicole, Tails, and Madoka are in the Skypatrol's break room watching a sizable wide screen TV watching Illya's castle gathered over a large couch. Nicole is watching over the bridge, Tails is fixing the Tornado 2, and Madoka as far as everyone knows was still in the bathroom.

"Bored..." Sonic complained as he ate a chili dog in one bite.

"Deal with it. It's not like you can swim all the way across the ocean." Knuckles replies back to Sonic.

"Don't remind me."

"Where's Miss Kaname?" Cream asked the group. "She's taking a very long time."

"Maybe its that time of the month?" Knuckles replied to Cream's confusion and a slap to the face from Amy. "What did I say?"

Sonic then suggested. "So anyone up for some Smash?"

Sally then replied with. "Don't you mean anyone up for me owning all of your asses in Smash? Especially Sonic's."

"Is that a challenge Sal?" Sonic defiantly asks. When the power is suddenly cut off from the break room and the Skypatrol began to plummet from the sky and crash lands in the middle of the ocean with a deafening crash. But even then everyone is alright. But quite shaken up.

"It's a good think we're all made of iron." Knuckles moans as the group is piled up together in a bunch.

Sally is the first one to get up and the first one to try to assess the situation. "Nicole? Nicole?" Then the backup power supply activates restoring the lights and the AI lynx shows up in the break room.

"Sally, someone has sabotaged the main engine."

"What do you mean Nicole?" Sally asks with concern in her voice. As the rest of the Resistance begins to get up from the floor.

Nicole shows a video screen of the engine room showing that the core has been blasted apart. And that a wolf robot with a giant gun is holding Madoka tied up and gagged. To the shock of everyone.

"Sonic!"

"Already halfway there Sally!" Sonic remarks as he runs full tilt towards the engine room. Smashing thru the doors and jumping off the lifts. Reaching the engine in under a minute with a sonic boom announcing his arrival to Dire and Madoka.

"Time to show another evil robot the door and save the day!" Sonic commented with a serious expression. Before barely avoiding a gunshot. With the shooter revealed to be Madoka. "What the?"

"Snake. Do you like me?" Madoka speaks in a trance before Dire appears behind her. First in a cardboard box and then in person. "Do you like me? Hold me, Snake!"

Sonic freaked out at the sight of a girl pointing a gun to her gets some distance from Madoka whom follows him around gun drawn.

"Hurry ...hurry! Make love to me! Snake I want you!"

"Oh no! We are not doing Sonic 06 again!"

This time the voice of Dire took over Madoka with him saying. "You don't like girls!?" As "Madoka" transforms into Dire revealing that the whole thing was an illusion. Complete with evil maniacal laughter. Sonic in retaliation tried to spin attack into the wolf robot but she simply evaded his blows with her levitation while cackling like a maniac.

"Now I will show you why am the most powerful practitioner of psychokinesis and telepathy in the world. No... There's no need for words Snake. I am Dire. That's right... This is no meme. It is true power. I can read your every thought. Now let me read your mind. No …perhaps I should say your past. You are a very impulsive man. Always looking forward without considering the consequences. You are a very skilled warrior, well suited to this mission. You boost to win. You are either confident. Or an idiot. Still don't believe me? Now i'll read more deeply into your soul.

Ah... I can see into your mind... So you like Smash Brothers? Hmmm I see you lose often to a certain Princess Sally. And that you don't save often. You are somewhat reckless. I can read you like an open book! You still don't believe me? I will show you my psychokinetic power. You! Yes you who is reading this right now! Put your device on the floor. Put it down as flat as you can... that's good. Now I will move your device by the power of my will alone!

(grunts... grunts... grunts...)

"What do you think now? What do you mean it didn't work?! The demonstration is over!"

Sonic tackles Dire into the ground with a spin attack. Seemingly dealing with the lunatic once and for all he then unties Madoka as the rest of the Resistance finally reaches the engine room weapons drawn at the intruding robot. With Sally giving an appropriate threat to their latest enemy.

"You're under arrest crazyfreak! So hands on the air and don't try anything funny or mind screwy!" While pointing a gun at Dire. Dire fired his large gun at the Resistance in a sweeping pattern. Leading to a panicked shoot out in the engine room as Dire used the chaos to escape by using a smoke bomb that enveloped the room. As the room cleared and the bullets ceased firing the Resistance secured the room and Tails began work on fixing the engine room.

Tails began looking over the core as it was shot to all hell by Dire. As Tails was cursing the living daylights out of crazy freak for dragging him out of his plane. And Nicole and Sally are scanning the ship. Working to figure out a solution for their intruder.

"So how's the engine Tails?" Sally asks the two tailed fox.

"Shot all to hell Aunt Sal." Tails replied. "Fortunately we can still sail back home." (explosion) "Slowly..."

"Still how did that robot manage to get into the Skypatrol?" Nicole asked.

"I don't know." Madoka stated. "But that robot wants to sabotage the ship and kill us all. He told me so herself in the bathroom." Referring to Dire as his deep masculine voice had Madoka confuse her for a guy.

"Ah found him." Nicole stated. As she looked across the data of the Skypatrol.

At that time in the lower levels of the Skypatrol. Dire was busy placing bombs all over the place. As he notices a camera looking at her which she shoots down with her large gun.

"Not good. That robot plans to sink the Skypatrol and all of us with it." Nicole commented.

Sonic and Knuckles quietly agree to head to the lower levels of the Skypatrol which are a large cavernous and murky area with pipes and wiring. Nicole also joined them to search and disarm the bombs. As they are searching for the bombs they are sniped from a distance. Fortunately the trio's reflexes allow them to dodge and take cover from Dire's sniping.

Dire meanwhile is watching from a distance with his gun. Taking aim at Sonic's head and stating. "I beg of you. Grant me the strength to take this final prey. Let me linger in this world just a little longer. I have already slept enough for one lifetime... Enough for an eternity. You have my thanks. I have to thank you... For waking me. If you hadn't shown up, my sleep... would have been eternal." As Dire fires her shot going in for the kill.

"Do you hear me Snake? I am Dire! I am here to send you to your ultimate fate! You'll make a fine quarry for my final hunt!" Sonic manages to just barely avoid the shot by dodging at the last second. And even then the shot triggers one of the bombs causing an explosion that knocks back the resistance trio a ways back. And although the Skypatrol was supposed to leak Dire is surprised that the ship didn't and resisted the explosion.

"What happened? I thought this ship would sink?" Knuckles asked Nicole.

"It seems that this ship is sturdier than it looks." Nicole stated. A fact proven right when Dire detonated every explosive that he set at once in a fit of frustration.

Dire begins to fire at the ship randomly trying to sink it the old fashioned way. "Looks like the robot has lost it." Sonic commented.

"But he made himself a target!" Knuckles added as he punched the wall below the ledge where Dire was perching. Causing a tremor that made her lose her balance and fall off. Straight into the guardians fists. As Knuckles punched senselessly the wolf Mandalorian enjoying it a bit too much. She countered by correcting them in that she was a woman and swinging her rifle like a blunt weapon at Knuckles which the red echidna grabbed. While Sonic jumped on top of it, ran across it, and proceeded to land his own beat down on the FOXHOUND wannabe. Landing a 23 hit combo and finishing it with a bicycle kick that slammed Dire into a wall and caused her to explode.

After the explosion subsided Dire laid on the ground bruised, battered, and heavily damaged. With his visible eye giving out he says a final speech. "Spirits of the forest... I thank you. The Boss, would be proud of you... The time has come for a younger generation to rise... I've been wondering for more than a century and now my journey comes to a close. What a splendid way to end it all... I have no regrets. I can return to the forest at last..." And then explodes and disappears in a surge of darkness. Disappearing from the Skypatrol without a trace.

"What was that?" Knuckles asks. "Hey Nicole what happened to the robot?"

"Unknown. Target lost."

Sonic jumps forward towards the two and tries to calm them down. "No worries! That's one less creepy robot down! Now all we need to worry about is how to get back home."

Madoka takes over the communications to present her own ideas on how to deal with the situation and soon Sonic Arc is pushing the Skypatrol towards the Acorn archipelago as with their combined abilities Sonc Arc is more than capable of swimming while holding on to the Skypatrol for buoyancy. With Sonic enjoying the fact that he can actually swim for once. Much to Tails amusement and Knuckles annoyance.

"Hey look everyone! I'm actually swimming!" Sonic remarks with the giddiness of a five year old.

Amy waves back at the giant robot cheering Sonic on as the sun sets. While Sally guides the group towards their way home.

In the depths of uncharted space

In the depths of uncharted space a giant castle with five protruding spikes perched in a black asteroid is located. Inside it a near Dire materializes in front of a little girl in a rust colored jacket in the middle of a lab with seven pods of differing sizes. As a pair of Skullraisers picked up Dire and carried her away she looked at the situation with a bored expression as she poured some tea for herself.

"So Dire failed... Well I suppose that's not much of a surprise. What i'm more concerned about is Juggernaut. After all that effort to make her invincible only to be beaten by a measly Echidna and his friends is unacceptable. Then again I shouldn't expect much from Kyubey to begin with. After all its because of him that i'm stuck in this situation.

"Yes I still remember that day..." Touka recalls the day that both she and Kyubey first stumbled into the Calamity Homu. After both were swallowed up by the darkness they saw a giant lizard like monster appear before them. Overwhelming them with terror and despair. Touka was ready to die that day. For her even though she was renowned as a famous scientist and war heroine. It was not enough. She was always overshadowed by her compatriots and over time drifted apart from them. She hasn't seen Nemu or Iroha in decades at this point. And the world at large thought she was dead. She only took this job from Kyubey as a morbid attempt at stimulation. A half assed attempt at reclaiming the glory days. But...

The Calamity Homu far from being a mindless husk was firm in its command. "Serve me or die." Kyubey folded quite quickly. He of course wants to betray the Calamity and usurp command of her forces and got a new battle body out of the deal. So did I. His was a rotund fighter jet while mine was a huge and top heavy jet bomber with massive arms loaded with weaponry and small scrawny legs that are more like hover units. And a robotic appearance.

We were soon put to work in constructing her new army alongside Kuro a remnant of her previous forces. And I was made to create the Blights. Seven robotic generals that serve as the Calamity's vanguard. Juggernaut and Dire are two of them and here are five more.

As one of the lids of the seven pods pop open. A screech can be heard coming from said pod as gusts of wind blurt out of the pod and consume the room all the while Touka flashes a wicked grin.

"Hari... No. Turbine..."

And that's the end of chapter 8! And I know you're not allowed to repeat stories. But can you repeat segments of stories as flashbacks and stuff?

Illya's castle segment is a shout out to fellow Sonic the hedgehog crossover fanfic Fate/Genesis with Stuart, Twice, and Bazzett's descriptions being traits from said fanfic. Also Tetsuya and Tatsuya are the same character. It was an error in spelling in the first few chapters that led to the wrong name being spelled. The correct name is Testsya Dattaga.
