February 10 2024, Operation Unmasked world
After days of preparation the strike team finally prepares to begin its mission. To infiltrate Mikitihara and find Madoka Kaname. Leaving Iroha behind to hold the fort Kagami and her team head for the shinkansen to enter the city of Mikitihara and prepare for their battle against the Calamity. Their waltzers would be following in autopilot shortly after.
As the group enters the train station they find the entire place eerily empty and seemingly abandoned. As the group searched around the area they found no one. Just an empty train station until reaching the tarmac. Where they find a girl covering herself in a hood seemingly waiting sitting in a bench all on her own. As the girl stood up she drew her twin swords and began talking.
"You are the ones intruding on Akemi-san's paradise. I Kuro cannot allow you to remain here." Then charges at Kagami only to get tossed at a nearby trashcan.
"Who is this weakling?" Saitou remarks as he scratches his belly. And Kuro tries to get to get her head out of the trashcan to no avail.
"I am no weakling! I am Kuro! Second in command to the great demon king Akemi-san! Feel my power!" Kuro raises her arms and chocolate begins to rains down in the tarmac for about a minute not doing much of anything but scattering candy all over the ground while Kuro grins proudly at herself. "And the good thing about being me... Is that there are so many me's..." The screen then pulls back to reveal dozens of clones of Kuro coming out of every orifice which swarm and surround the group.
"Holy shit!" Testsuya comments.
With Saitou adding. "We're screwed..."
Kagemusha mentions. "Didn't you hear whoever you are? That parodying the Matrix isn't cool anymore?"
And Kagami finishes with. "Everyone prepare for battle!" As the Kuro's close in with weapons drawn, screaming like maniacs.
In another part of the city Iroha is looking around store stalls to buy groceries for dinner. Taking a look at some vegetables to see which are ready to be eaten. "I wonder how everyone else is doing." The young girl thinks to herself as she picks up some lettuce and puts it in a bag. When she notices a woman stumbling and collapsing nearby in an alleyway and ends ups rushing to her.
Looking at the young woman and her considerable injuries. Iroha drops everything and decides to help her. Hiding her blushing from seeing her face that of a beautiful woman with long blue hair. Iroha tries to talk to her. But the woman is unresponsive, breathing shallowly and even bleeding in certain areas.
"This lady needs help!" Iroha thought as she dragged her to a nearby doctor's office. Leaving her groceries behind without hesitation.
Chapter 12: Machinations
The mahou driver system. Originally an attempt to replace body parts with virtual replicas composed of digital material. This digital material was meant to prevent rejection and serve as a way to rapidly standardize medical equipment. But its ability to enhance body and mind soon found a new purpose on the battlefield. It is now the year Second history 8932, The so called singularity has long become a thing of legend and myth. And a new civilization has risen from the ashes of the old.
The second history calendar. Split into twelve months of thirty days each with each day being composed of 25 hours. It was created to give a consistent and common time frame to the universe at large after the magical girl war. While every world still follows its own individual calendar. This is the way time is kept in in space and in colonies. A standardized method of time keeping for the IFS and it's many member states.
Somewhere in the depths of space...
Far away in the reaches of space. A long distance away from Mobius lies the city planet of Center. An entire world transformed into a gigantic metropolis full of massive skyscrapers that has stood since the dawn of the second history that serves as the capital and government center to the IFS. It's Corsucant. It's an expy of Corsucant from Star Wars. And it is now being surrounded by a red fleet of star ships manned by space pirates. Led by the dreaded pirate Rust belt an eight foot tall hobgoblin with two giant lower fangs a larger gut and dresses like a pirate. Which has finished tearing apart the Center fourth defense fleet.
"Excellent!" The space pirate leader gloated. "Boys! Prepare to raid the planet! We'll go down in history!" Rust belt is cheered on by his crew as his Junks Waltzers. Heavily armored round and spiky space use mecha armed with emp guns and beam rifles being dual wielded on both arms.
"Sir! An enemy on radar!" One of the operators commented.
"Hah! Only one?!" Rust belt responded. "Who is this fool who dares to face me?"
"Scanning sir! It's Grand General Mami Tomoe!" The operator yelled with fear in his heart.
"So that whelp has appeared...
Mami Tomoe flew transformed in her driver form a fancy yellow and white full body armor with a T visored helmet with a hat and a yellow driver bracelet in her right arm being carried into the battlefield by a Fuunsaki mobile platform a horse faced flying platform with four hover devices on the sides. Summoning musket rifles with her hand gestures that fly alongside her like if they were funnels.
"So these are the troublemakers?" Mami remarked as she faced off against the pirate fleet.

The pirate fleet fired on the magical girl turned general. Rust belt meanwhile watched gleefully as hundreds of high powered blaster cannons lay waste and bombard a small human girl and the surrounding area with complete abandon. After a minute of constant continuous bombardment. Rust belt ordered a stop to the blasting only to find that Mami had blocked everything with a giant barrier made of ribbons which disassembled and reformed into the bit muskets that surrounded her to the shock of the pirates.
"I will not be emasculated by a murder monkey!" Rust belt screamed at his crew as he smashed a big red button. "Fire the gigantic magnum!" With that order the Salty bitch. Rust belt's main flagship's front expands revealing an enormous bow mounted magnetic linear cannon capable of devastating a planet in one shot. An enormous amount of power is charged within the Salty bitch as it loads and fires a giant metal projectile fired at hypersonic velocities with an impact force comparable to the meteor that killed the dinosaurs. That Mami merely catches with one hand with no problem and lets it float away into space harmlessly like a piece of flattened space junk.
"I guess you just got emasculated." The operator remarked to Rust belt. Whom simply and calmly said.
"Then today is a good day to die... Ramming speed!" On the captains order the ships charged at Mami whom simply ties up the entire miles long fleet with her ribbons before blowing it up with some giant muskets made from her funnels. Annihilating the pirates in a swift and brutal matter before heading back.

Mami returned to her human form. A young blond woman with big boobs wearing a dark green military long coat and hat. As she walked back to her office inside the Tomoe federal building. A skyscraper down the street by the abandoned IFS senate building. A building abandoned roughly 20 years ago after a bloody coup left to the deaths of most of the senate. As she entered her chambers she was met by Carlos Cottora the spymaster of the IFS. Whom is also known by his code name Spymaster.

Carlos Cottora is a parrot anim in a detective's jacket and hat. A complete refugee from a detective pulp fiction noir story plaid completely straight. With fuzzy unkempt facial hair, chain smoking habit, and trusty Smith and Wesson revolver at his side. The only reason that people tolerate his ample eccentricities is because he is that good at his job. As he goes thru his sixth Malboro. The wonders of modern alien medicine keeping him alive and relatively fit at 55 years old. He takes a look at his boss as she smiles in self satisfaction. Mami Tomoe would never admit it but she always enjoys getting a chance to vent some steam blowing up the unlucky pirate who gets past her security fleets. After all being a living deterrent alongside the Grand general of the entire IFS is a rather boring job for her.
"I see the master had some fun today." Carlos remarked in his typical snarky tone.
"And I see you've been turning my office into your personal ash tray Spymaster." Mami replied back with equal amounts of sass to which Carlos seemed to look hurt but swept it under the rug with another smoke.
"This is something kids like you wouldn't understand master."
"Kid... I'm old enough to be your freaking grandma. Sadly enough..." Mami complained. "But enough snark. Down to business. Are you familiar with the planet Mobius of the protected section?"
"Mobius? First time I heard of it. Isn't the protected section nothing more than warp over country?"
"Indeed. That's why we allow such independence to the planet. It's not worth our time and resources to send drones there. Let alone troops or agents. That's why the likes of Eggman and Naugus have been able to run rampart for so long. They are simply not worth our attention as long as they stick to the planet." Mami explains. "I need you to head there."
"So it's a vacation in the space boonies huh?" Carlos remarks.
"Don't be so sure Carlos. After all the reason why you're going there is to deal with the Blights. They were spotted there. And if they were spotted there. Then they will likely be there."
"I see, so we finally get a chance to get those terrorists once and for all!" Carlos commented with glee as he clenched his fists and smiled.
"Yes! The Calamity Homu has been a thorn in my side for far too long. It is time to deal with them just like I dealt with the Reibai scum!"
Mami briefly recalls moments from 20 years ago when she conspired alongside her fellow bureaucrats to betray the senate in exchange for becoming the Grand general and for getting rid of the Reibai which had long whose deeds in the magical girl war were the cause of the modern day oppression for Puella magi for her. This action gave her both power and revenge against one of her hated enemies. Just like the war gave her revenge against the incubators. And now she would get revenge against the Calamity. All those who ruined her life would pay. And those responsible for Nagisa's death as well.
"Also." Mami comments to Carlos as she takes off her bracelet and gives it to the latter who is surprised at seeing it. "I want you take this. You'll need this to counter the Arc system that the Mobians have obtained."
"The Arc system?! Are you sure?!" Carlos yelled as he took the driver bracelet and put it on and synchronized with it. "I've heard stories about the Arc system and its power. But to think a no name world like Mobius would be where it appears. It seems i've gotten soft in my age." Carlos thought to himself as he took a look at the driver and saluted to his superior.
As Carlos leaves the room he is met by a redheaded girl in a loose business suit with a register in her arm who was trying to spy on the earlier conversation. "So Kyoko Sakura what are you doing here?"
"Hmmph!" Kyoko sneers as she simply leaves the hallway. Where she is met by three other people. While Carlos doesn't really recognize them. He does know that they are Kyoko's direct subordinates in her division of the Space marine program. Where she is a captain of her own ship the Satoshi one of the four heavenly kings. And leader of her own crew. And that for some reason she and Mami don't get along anymore.

"So the captain has been spying on the spy huh?" Carlos commented as he saw Kyoko leave. "Never mind that. I need to catch up on some intel before I leave."
Carlos goes off on his way preferring to avoid any inter service rivalry that could get him killed. He doesn't want to end up like his old boss the infamous previous former head of the inquisition. Carlos personally didn't know him. But everyone knew about the infamous traitor killer. Only for him to get killed off during the revolt. It didn't matter to someone like Carlos who didn't have much stock to any one faction and it meant that there were a LOT of promotions that day for those who kept their heads in the ground.
Jul 3 s.h. 8932, Egg citadel, Efrika great desert
Back on planet Mobius the sun rises on the harsh deserts of Efrika where Eggman has stationed one of his many bases the Egg citadel. There Maw has returned from his journey to Metal harbor and is being greeted by his underlings in the Egg army as the thycaline disembarks from an Egg shuttle.
"Welcome back Lord Maw!" One of the officers remarks as the officers salute while Maw salutes back to them.
Another one of the officers asked about his journey to which Maw remarked. "As expected. Nothing special came out of it. While I do admit that the Blights are powerful thought. Just like our guest mentioned."
Maw is then met by Axel the Water buffalo who is still shaken after what happened in Gimme Shelter. "Maw, we need to talk."
"Is that so? Let's do it in a more quiet area..." Maw replied. As the two went into an elevator and into an nearby rooftop observatory.
As the duo look at the artificial stars and Maw sits down in a bench Axel begins to talk while he inserts data into the nearby mainframe. "Maw, take a look at this." Axel ends up revealing data he found on Gimme Shelter which Maw looked at with interest.
"Is this data? Maw remarks in shock as he stands up and begins to look over it. "Has Doctor Eggman seen this?"
"No he hasn't."
"Why?" Maw asks in shock.
Axel clutches his hands and remarks. "I don't know. That woman that is with Eggman now, Hime. She is suspicious. If I showed Eggman this I believe that she would do horrible things to our crew."
"Ara, ara, ara?" Maw muttered as he continued to look around the data. "Oh what's this? A report of the Pandora's tower?"
Ichijin report #24 Pandora's tower
Report 1
After years of work the Pandora's tower prototypes has been completed. The system is designed for terraforming planets. And the organization has decided on the planet where the tower will be tested.
Earth.
We will test seven towers in seven different locations in the planet. And activate them in the same time and observe what happens.
Report 2
Earth was chosen because of the heavy demonic corruption that has infested the planet. That has led to massive terrorist resistance that the IAA is having trouble with even after operation unmasked world's success. The terraforming can be utilized as a weapon to purge the chaotic essence of an entire planet in one shot. Due to the prototype designs we need multiple towers. But once the data is obtained and system is perfected we should reduce the need for multiple towers and simply use a single tower that doubles as a space elevator.
As for it's population a large scale evacuation order has been given for anyone who still remains there. Of course it will likely be ignored. As those who remain on Earth nowadays are either siding with the Calamity or are other extremist holdouts for some other reason. IAA expects around 1billion human casualties because of the holdouts including the entire population of the Arabian peninsula, and half of the United States and Russia. Alongside several smaller countries.
As agreed upon by treaty the people of Japan will be allowed to settle in the Yodda region of Reibai which is currently uninhabited in exchange for placing a tower in the Seto inland sea.

The towers have been launched. Seven towers, seven locations. The results have surpassed all expectations. Not only has the chaotic taint been purged but the resonance effect has caused some interesting effects. It seems that Earth has been replaced with another world. Also another observation is that no one except those like me who have mahou drivers have noticed the change. As far as non drivers are concerned this new world has always taken the Earth's place and history itself seems to have altered itself to conform to this reality. With human history having changed completely as a result. It truly is incredible. Its like a second history has overtaken the universe itself!
As Axel and Maw continue to look at the data as the former begins to freak out. Getting some distance and panicking. "Maw, What does this mean?"
"My, it seems that King Maximilian was right and the government really was hiding a nasty little secret after all." Maw smugly smiled at the buffalo. "Oh you didn't know? Then I suppose I should tell you about Les infantes terribles and how I came to the service of the good doctor."
"The great war may have driven King Maximilian mad but he was no fool. He always knew about the power that the mainland possessed and knew that they could always end the war if they chose. That's why he created the secret school Les infantes terribles. To find and develop gifted geniuses to surpass the mainland. Using the forbidden spring of acorns we were all infused with it's knowledge and wisdom thru transfusions. And while most of us went mad and died. Two of us survived the Mango Loco ordeal."
"You and that Tails kid?" Axel replied.
"Correct! That's why that fox boy is so damn clever! He was taken from his parents and infused with the spring of acorns while in the womb. Like a furry Ryuko Matoi!"
"But then that coward Nigel shut down the project! Just because it was inhumane" Maw continues with a mocking tone. "Ignorant child! How are you supposed to surpass those mainland dogs without sacrifice?! Miles would have been perfect too!"
"You're not saying?" Axel recoils in horror. As something jabs the Egg boss in the sides and he keels over as blood trickles down into the floor.
"Yes, I created Miles Prower." Maw replied in a completely demented way. "And if it wasn't because of Sonic. He would have been my servant! That accursed hedgehog only exists because of the doctor! Yet he refuses to bend the knee!"
"What!" Axel roars in astonishment! Falling over as his vision blurs.
Maw pulls out a bloodied knife coated with poison and states. "Yes i'll tell you one last thing before you die. Sonic the hedgehog is one of the doctor's creations. The first badnik to be precise." And then plunges the knife into Axel's throat slitting his aorta and killing him in cold blood as his blood sprays all over the observatory.
"Nyahahahahahahahaaaa! Good job Maw! I didn't think you'd pull it off. But damn was I wrong!" A familiar girls mocking voice could be heard thru the air.
"Miss Hime is all of this true?" Maw asks seemingly regaining his composure.
"Oh yup! And let me tell you something else." Hime appears next to Maw and whispers something in her ear which ends up driving the Egg Boss to maniacal laughter.
The duo take the data and leave the observatory giving it to Eggman who is quite happy with the results.
"Excellent job Maw! Hime! Although did you have to kill Axel in order to get the data?"
"I'm surprised that you care Eggman." Hime offhandedly mentions as she sits in a console.
"I care because he was useful. Even if his failure in Gimme Shelter was considerable." Eggman remarks. "Anyways the Eggman Empire has been in the back foot for far too long. Starting now we will be taking the offensive. With the data that Hime provided we will be using this on the Resistance."
Eggman shows a series of Eggman robo's From Eggman's personal Battle Eggman robo. A giant robotic Eggman with samurai stylings to Mass produced variants for the Egg bosses such as Hime's which is pink and has cat ears and large armed claws. Maw's which has four combat tentacles in its back a vaccum in its left arm and is yellow and gray in coloration, And Metal Sonic's a metallic blue high mobility variant with a massive backpack and numerous thrusters with many super heated combat knives.
"You've been busy doctor." Maw replies.
To which the former adds "And vengeful my boy. We've been upstaged by those aliens for long enough. It's time to show why the Eggman Empire is the rightful ruler of the universe!"
As Eggman and Maw get pumped Hime looks on with a coy smile. Knowing that all is going according to plan.

And that's the end of Chapter 12. I'm basically making this two parter because I realized that there hasn't been any development between the rivalry between Sonic and Eggman and so far all of the fights have been against new antagonists. So chapter 13 is meant to fix that with this chapter being set up for it.
Carlos is an unique character as he was inspired by the game Nostalgia for the DS and is basically a throwback to old timey detective dramas. Which is basically why he smokes and drinks so much as he is basically a throwback to 1900's machismo. And is tolerated only because of his competence on the job.
Also Mami isn't just boasting when she mentions that she is allowing Eggman and Naugus to run rampant. She really has become that powerful over the years that she could conceivably fight solo the entire Eggman empire and win. That's also why she is stuck in Center because as things are now she would end the story VERY quickly. As she is literally the strongest woman is space as of writing. The bureaucrats in charge are basically using her as a human shield against their enemies.
