Second history 8932. It's been thousands of years since the discovery of magic as an energy source and the resulting magical girl war forced humanity to abandon earth and go into space. Sonic the hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower and Knuckles the Echidna become involved in the aftermath of this conflict and a new war born from its ashes. Alongside an amnesiac claiming to be Madoka.

25. Chapter 25 The blight and the echidna

Nov 19 s.h. 014, Somewhere in dark space

Dark space... The black empty void in between galaxies. Normally dark space is considered a dead zone. A great abyss of nothingness that can only be safely crossed thru warp lanes. A series of heavily programmed and heavily calculated faster than light routes between galaxies that connect the vast distances of the IFS.

But sometimes. Something manages to slip thru the cracks. Such as a floating space hulk. A derelict wreck of a spaceship that drifts trough the stars. With this hulk being a pair of large vessels fused into each other in a surreal and bizarre way. As if two cargo ships had mixed in on themselves. Surrounded by debris deformed and melted by an unreal power. A Ginko Raflessia a Ginko Balboa that has been modified and upgraded into an exploration and deep space reconnaissance cruiser escorted by the Hakubi and two Deathgleamer class corvette's enter the area. And begin doing scans of the wreckage.

An older looking Jango now with longer grayed hair and an admiral's uniform looks at the wreckage in the Raflessia's bridge. "So that's the space hulk huh?" One of his officers reports that there are no life signs aboard the ship. With Jango simply stating. "I see..." As a hideously mutilated corpse lacking his skin and having his left arm and legs replaced by sewage pipes merged unto a cellular level, its eyes replaced by water nozzles, and tongue replaced by fried bacon strips floats alongside the ships bridge. "And anything else?" Jango asks to which the officer remarks that the hulk looks like a cross between a Trojan horse class ship and a large rocket named the Philadelphia experiment.

Kagemusha then hails Jango remarking that he can feel something inside the ship calling for him and that he will be taking off in his Waltzer to investigate. The masked man flies off in his ZERO-1: Waltzer which has been modified into a Commander custom type. With a pair of head antenna, an external booster pack, a modified left arm with a shoulder shield and triple barreled beam launcher add-ons, and a black and green color scheme. The Waltzer commander type enters the hulk and weaves its way across the destruction.

Entering the core of the hulk. Kagemusha ends up discovering a massive derelict supercomputer inside and tries to access it. "So who is calling for me in here?" As the masked man looked over the files he notices a strange and fairly large database. "A virtual landscape inside the computer? Metaverse enterprise solutions experiments on self awareness of virtual universes..." Suddenly the Waltzer's systems began to glitch out for a moment and communications was lost. As the sensors returned Kagemusha found himself in a strange dimensional void where a large security drone which would be the predecessor to the Galats began firing cutting lasers from it's fingers.

With the lasers shredding the Waltzer's shoulder shield when Kagemusha tried to use it as a defense. Fortunately the Waltzer had superior maneuverability allowing it to dodge while it fired its beam launcher at the machine. But the drone's shell tanked the attacks before firing it's laser fingers again. Using all four limbs which created a barrage of 12 different heat streams all in different vectors. "Impressive performance..." Kagemusha remarks as he drew the beam saber in his right arm. As the Galat blasted towards the Waltzer with its beam fingers turning into shredding beam strings that the saber blocks as Kagemusha kicks away the Galat with a red comet kick before peppering it's less armored front with beam shots. "...But it isn't the performance that decides the fight!" Unfortunately for Kagemusha the Galat's would launch its limbs. Grabbing both arms and legs and sending a massive surge of heat at them which caused them to melt and explode. And the Waltzer to rocket into the distance with enough force to overwhelm the Waltzer's G-diffusion systems.

The Galat would then focus its beam fingers and prepare to fire a finishing blow. Kagemusha aware of the situation tried but fail to regain control of the mech and then tried something desperate. "I'm sorry old friend... "Tsurugi Kagemusha! Evolution!" The Galat then fires it's beams at the Waltzer's reactor causing it to explode in a spectacular manner. Destroying the Waltzer that had seen Kagemusha thru since the magical girl war.

Ost: Origami Kourin, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger

Evolution! Karasu Machine! Dai Kourin! From the massive explosion a crow shaped fighter appears and splits into several clones that the Galat fires only for them all to be illusions and the real Karasu machine to rocket from below and use it's sword to carve the Galat in two with ease. Causing it to explode as reality returns to normal. "I see, so this is the power of the new system." Kagemusha muses as he heads once more toward the computer. "Gattai, with this our dominance will be assured. The question is who will be the other two pilots?" The computer terminal then opens up to reveal a pod. "Jango can you hear me? It seems I found something." "Is that so?" Kagemusha's fellow trooper remarked. "I hope it was worth the destruction of a Waltzer." Kagemusha merely replies. "Perhaps, anyway prepare the medics i'm coming back with someone."

Arc... Gattai... Systems designed to surpass Gods and devils. Originally the Arc system was meant to stand alone as the key to defeating the Great Calamity. But an act of betrayal made this impossible. instead. By combining using forms known as machines multiple drivers could evolve and become a more powerful giant. This traitor due to their actions has had their name stripped from history and speaking about them is a taboo topic around the populace. In order to compensate the art of Gattai was developed.

It is now the year 8932 of the second history. And thanks to this advancements made many years ago. The galaxy is heading towards a period of revolution. A new era is dawning. But what this new era entails is still unclear.

Chapter 25: The Blight and the Echidna

Jul 7 s.h. 8932, Somewhere in the Blue ocean

The blue ocean a large ocean dotted by many islands from where the Blue tower is located. With a small boat being out in the middle of the vast sea. Inside said boat Ahiru Arima who is busy trying to fish out a big one. With Fakir entering the back of the ship where the duck turned human is. "Ahiru, shouldn't we be trying to look for Drosselmyer instead of trying to try to master the ocean?" "Hey if you don't work, you don't eat Fakir." Ahiru cheerfully notes all the while staring out into the ocean. "Besides, isn't it nice to see the world?" Ahiru's comment legitimately stuns Fakir as the boy notices how she has grown up from the days she was trying to be a ballerina and court Mytho. "All of our life we were just actors in a play. Things like the sea, the sky, and the stars. We're just stuff we never thought about. Stuff we were never allowed to think about. But now, we are free Fakir. Free to go wherever we wish and do whatever we want. Honestly this whole journey feels like a second chance at life. So this time i'm going to enjoy it. Instead of worrying of what could or not happen." Fakir smiles proudly after hearing that remarking. "You've grown up Duck." Fakir remarks as he sits alongside Duck.

Then the duo heard a strange, loud, engine noise as the sky darkens. Ahiru and Fakir look upwards and see a giant floating island with gigantic smoke bellowing rockets and numerous high powered destructive weaponry. As the island flies across the skies dumping smoke and other toxic wastes at the small ship that the two characters were boarding. As the poisonous fumes disperse Ahiru and Fakir react with the former commenting. "What the DUCK was that?!" With the latter being more calm and reasoning. "Calm down Duck. For now we need to call someone." As the duo head inside the cabin.

Jul 8 s.h. 8932, Castle Acorn

Inside Castle Acorn, King Nigel and his general/personal assistant O'Malley are dealing with daily affairs involving the nation. The King of Acorns was currently talking with GUN's Commander Abraham Tower. "So... Agent Rouge hasn't reported since their last mission. Sadly I haven't seen or heard of Team Dark after the whole thing with Infinite and the Phantom Ruby." Tower tries to ask a question only for King Nigel to cut him off stating. "No I still don't really know how Classic Sonic works." O'Malley theorizes that Classic Sonic was actually a Sonic from a parallel universe brought about by the Time Eater while the Commander believes that it was all in illusion formed from the Phantom Ruby.

Then one of the Acorn guards enters the room in a concerned hurry much to the surprise of those inside. With an annoyed O'Malley reprimanding the soldier. The grunt salutes and apologizes before giving his report. "Sorry, sir. But it's an emergency." "What kind of emergency?" Nigel asks his soldier to which he responds. "It's seems that Walter Naugus was found near dead in a beach and sent to the Green Hill general hospital screaming about how the end has come and we are all going to die." After a few moments of stunned silence King Nigel calmly states. "Abraham, i'll call you back later." Before shutting off the comms and yelling. "WHAT THE FUCK?!"

Later on the duo of King Nigel and O'Malley dash to the hospital as Ahiru and Fakir headed to the palace. Watching the duo rush into a vehicle and leaving much to the duo's confusion. And later met by Princess Sally and her companion Nicole who meets the duo instead. "What is going on?" Ahiru asked visibly confused about the situation. Sally replies with. "I'm not sure, we just got here ourselves. Apparently father is dealing with some situation and asked for me to handle the rest of the meetings for today." Nicole then cuts to ask the duck turned human. "What are you two doing here anyways? I was made to understand that you two were heading to the territory managed by the blue tower." Fakir then explains. "Yeah, about that. Yesterday we saw that giant floating island you people talk about." Sally surprised remarks. "You saw Angel island?" To which Ahiru remarks. "Was it? I heard Angel island is a beautiful place full of natures bounty. While what we saw was just like one of those old Reibai ships. The Rocky Balboa wasn't it?" Fakir corrects Ahiru remarking that the correct name is the Ginko Balboa. To which Sally and Nicole look on in horror. Before Nicole drags the duo away and Sally orders an emergency summons of the Resistance.

Afterwards everyone in the Resistance meets using a network chat. A virtual space where people can communicate with each other in real time even when they are separated across galaxies as long as there is an internet connection. There Ahiru and Fakir explain the situation all while using guest avatars which are pair of chao. With Ahiru's being orange colored and having her signature ahoge and Fakir's having angry narrow eyes, a frowny expression, and is purple. While everyone else uses avatar similar to their original forms. Except Shortfuse whose avatar is of a tall, blond, and well endowed woman.

Sally then begins to talk. "So now that you know all of this. We need to locate Angel island and liberate it from the Cycles cult. Doing so will let us deal a blow to the invaders." Knuckles then steps up and asks. "So if Angel island really is moving. Then how are we supposed to find it?" Nicole remarks. "I was expecting that we would use your magical echidna radar powers to find the island Knuckles." As everyone in the room looks to the red echidna who merely replies. "You do know that my radar doesn't work that way right?" After a moment of silence across the room Shortfuse asks. "So, are we just gonna wait for those alien freaks to come for us?"

Next day at Emerald hill zone

"I was joking!" Shortfuse screams as the Resistance sets up their defensive line in the Emerald hill coastlines. All the while Cream looks at Tails and Gadget working on consoles and notes. "This is nice and all. But how are we supposed to lure out the big scary monsters?" "It's quite simple Cream. We bait them out. And with Gadget and Nicole's help we have a fool proof method to get them to come to us. Cream looks at this method which seems to be a simple Twitter message.

Dear Cycle cultists

You cheated not only the game, but yourself. You didn't grow. You didn't improve. You took a shortcut and gained victory. You experienced a hollow victory. Nothing was risked and nothing was gained. It's sad that you don't know the difference...

Also I banged your mom...

Love and kisses. The Resistance.

Cream simply stares at the whole thing in disbelief. "There is no way this is going to work." To which Gadget gestures to Tails whom states. "You know the Rookie is right. This plan is perfect. There's no way it can go wrong. We'll stall until Knuckles group can get in. Knock out the engines and then get out." Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are hiding in a cliff side in the distance readying the Tornado. While Madoka looks on in concern. "Knuckles, are you sure about this? You guys could just use the Arc system to do this." Knuckles grimly responds. "I'm the guardian of Angel island and the Master emerald. I can't just let the enemy run roughshod with my home land and my people." Knuckles goes back to work on the plane while Tails finishes installing a stealth system within the old model biplane. A cylindrical device taking the place of the typical booster placed on the plane's bottom. With multiple smaller boosters being placed on the plane's tail to compensate.

Sonic then tries to calm everyone down with his typical unflappable confidence. "Hey, no worries. If worse comes to worse we have Bunnie and Ant to pick up the slack." Unbeknownst to everyone in the resistance. A cloaked Angel island is reaching Westside island. With what was once the Master emerald shrine being torn down and rebuilt as a large bridge facility where the Blight known as Juggernaut is stationed alongside a familiar Skullraiser.

"Target on sight sir!" Porkins remarks as Juggernaut looks on at the enemy line on the distance. "Shall we fire the particle cannon batteries before they know what is going on?" Juggernaut quietly and coldly states. "No..." Much to surprise of Porkins and the other Skullraisers. Juggernaut then slams her massive left fist into his throne. Leaving a dent on the sizable metallic throne. "Those punks... Those punks! How dare those furry fools say that the Goddamn Juggernaut cheats at video games! We will slam the island straight into the front line! We will be a battering ram! The blunt instrument in the service of evil!" One of the Skullraisers tries to raise opposition pointing out that the machinery inserted into the island could cause problems in the future. Only to be blasted away by Juggernaut. "Duly noted, and ignored. Power to all engines! Full steam ahead!"

Ost: The transwarp battle: Beast wars transformers

Angel island breaks its cloaking and begins to prepare for it's collision with Westside island. As the islands defensive turrets begin a full onslaught that catches everyone in the Resistance off guard. Antoine who is met by Bunnie Rabbot remarks in shock. "Those maniacs! They can't be thinking to ram the island!" The islands defenses boot up as anti air turrets rise from the ocean and begin shelling Angel island and Westside's shields are raised in response. As both sides engage in exchange of particle cannon blasts. Sally, Nicole, and her bridge crew meanwhile are freaking out at the sight of Angel island slamming into Westside island defensive shielding. All the while Cream and Cheese are panicking and Gadget can only look on in silent slack jawed horror at what he has unleashed. Shortfuse is swearing up a storm as he goes topside to do something to stop the upcoming apocalypse. While Gamma silently leaves the Skypatrol as he takes off to sneak into the enemy base.

Meanwhile in the clifftop Team Sonic is notified of the situation. Sonic heads of to the defensive line to which Tails tries to stop him. "Tails, Knuckles, go. Take Madoka with you as well." Madoka is freaking out all the while Tails silently prepares his plane to take off while Knuckles grabs Madoka and mounts the plane. But not before grimly stating. "Come back alive Sonic." Sonic merely smiles and remarks. "Who do you think you're talking to? I'm Sonic, Sonic the hedgehog!" Sonic then runs off, leaping off the cliff side and runs at mach speed towards the battlefield as explosions rock the entire island.

The Tornado then flew off activating it's cloaking device as Angel island breaks Wetside island's defensive barrier causing the islands energy generators to overload and detonate. Before the automated systems shut down the breakers. Leaving the entire island without power as Angel island crashes head on into the defensive line. Destroying barricades, houses, and flipping over the Skypatrol into its side. And while the ship itself managed to endure the attack. Sally and Nicole are launched off their chairs. With the Hopscotch sisters being blasted away as well. With Layer taking the brunt of the explosion leaving her body completely charred. With Antoine barely surviving thanks to Bunnie. Whose robotic limbs are all crushed and destroyed. With the rest of her body being bruised and broken.

Angel island then begins to rise. Slowly flying off into the skies. The Tornado managed to escape intact with Madoka screaming in horror at the carnage before fainting. All the while Tails and Knuckles are forced to somberly carry on with the mission. With E-102 flying in pursuit of both. Tails asks. "What know? We can't exactly deal with the Cycles cult with just the two of us and with Madoka out cold. Knuckles contemplates for a few moments before telling Tails to land the plane in Azure lake. Hoping that the enemy hasn't gotten to that place yet.

Meanwhile in the wrecked front line facilities. Shortfuse manages to get out of the rubble thinking to himself. "Damn! I never thought I would actually be grateful that Eggman experimented on me!" Recalling the time where he was Shorty the squirrel and had his body mutated to be able to use Metagal skin without being poisoned. "I guess that there are advantages to being the local Wolverine." After dusting himself off he then looks around and finds Gadget, Cream and Cheese are all also crushed and buried within the rubble. Digging them out he finds that Gadget is unconscious and Cream has died. Taking the brunt of the assault to protect Cheese. Leaving her with a shattered spine and broken skull. With all three of them bleeding profusely much to Shortfuse's horror. Sonic then finally reaches the front line ruins only to witness the destruction. And then noticed Shortfuse who was freaking out. "Hey Shortfuse, what's going on?" With the panicked Cybernik screaming out "Medic!" As Sonic realizes what happening telling Shortfuse to calm down and find the others while he runs to town to get help.

Quack central hospital

While Westside island was going straight to hell. King Nigel was still in South island most advanced and important hospital. Meeting an unconscious Naugus who is bound up with both physical and magical seals and several autoguns trained to shoot at the troll if he tires anything funny. "So what happened to him again doctor?" Dr. Quack, a duck mobian with yellow feathering and a cybernetic left eye with three lenses that rotate into different forms. Explained that he told the king everything he knew. Nigel looks at the unconscious troll and pulls a knife on Naugus who then wakes up stating. "And here I thought I could take a nap." An annoyed Nigel demands to know. "What do you want this time? Didn't you have enough when you killed my father, my wife, my firstborn son. And stole my identity and impersonated me for years?"

A frustrated Naugus then asks. "Nigel... Have you ever seen the ruins beneath the green tower?" Which catches both King Nigel and Dr. Quack's attention. With the latter replying. "I was there actually. Johnny, Porker, and myself. All went there under the late prince's order to investigate. That was where I lost my original eye and was forced to retire from the front lines. I believe Nicole was found there as well." Naugus continues with. "Yes, Prince Elias wanted to know if the legend of Ixis was true. But neither he nor future survey teams managed to get past the green gate. Until now... It seems that all of the towers are activating since last month." Dr. Quack surprised yells. "It's only been a month?!" "A little under a month to be precise. But yes. It has been around a month since it all started." Naugus remarked with Nigel quipping. "Just like Namek..."

Unbeknownst to the others. O'Malley is informed about Westside island. Shocked at what happened he rushed to a starpost station and sought to head to battlefield to help. Leaving Naugus to be interrogated by the King and Dr. Quack.

Azure lake, or what's left of it.

Angel island had left Westside island and its defensive perimeter and flew off into the skies above. All the while the Tornado follows the island base until reaching Azure lake. With Tails internally grateful that the island is so huge and slow. With the massive multiple story engines actually providing less thrust than the Master Emerald. With most of the output keeping the giant chunk of rock afloat. Azure lake sadly is in ruins. With the lake itself being polluted and the nearby vegetation soiled and ruined. As the plane lands and Tails and Knuckles get off and into the ground. Knuckles looks on grimly for a moment.. Remembering all the people who had died at the hands of Juggernaut. Except Chuckles, Chuckles can burn in hell for all that the guardian could care. While Tails tries to get Madoka to get off the plane.

As the trio looked around the lake for some place to hide. They were being watched by Juggernaut and Porker. Juggernaut laughs at the sight remarking that it is foolish for them to look for help. Then the Blight noticed at the human that was accompanying Tails and Knuckles. Noticing the girl and realizing that there is something familiar. Something that a certain bunnycat who was visiting noticed.

"That girl in the pink hair... She's familiar..." Juggernaut noted who is in an unusually somber and thoughtful mood. Then said bunnycat confirmed the situation. "Well i'll be..." "Lord Kyubey!" Juggernaut replied as all the minions bowed to him as Kyubey in his incubator form jumped into a nearby console and began to enhance the pictures of Madoka. "Madoka Kaname lives." Before crushing the console in a fit of rage. "That bitch. That bitch! That filthy, fucking, beyatch! Still walks in the world!" Juggernaut shocked at the revelation remarked. "But I thought Hime was Madoka Kaname." Kyubey muses. "No, Hime is a fake. A fragment born from the Calamity Homun's power based on an idealized belief." Juggernaut looked confused at the revelation. While the Skullraisers weren't even allowed to think because of their corruptive brainwashing. Kyubey then orders Juggernaut to deal with the intruders. Killing the anim and bringing back the girl alive. As the massive blight leaves to fulfill her mission. The incubator wonders how it could be possible that his hated nemesis survived. Considering the very public execution given to her by Kagemusha. And the fact that her corpse was crucified, paraded around after the war ended. And then burnt. And while Kyubey considered the possibility of her being cloned. The possibility was removed upon further investigation. As not only her DNA was an exact match. But her magical and spiritual signatures are a match as well. The latter of which is impossible if she really was a clone.

Meanwhile Knuckles was still looking for survivors but to no avail. "Nothing huh?" Tails remarked as Knuckles came back from his patrol. "Nope, like it or not we're gonna have to go in alone and protect Madoka while we're at it." Madoka meekly apologized before slinking behind Tails who is force to ask. "Say, Madoka is there any way to make a giant robot with just the two us?" Knuckles remarks. "Makes sense. No matter how freakishly tough Juggernaut is we can just stomp them with a giant robot." "Well this is unexpected. You usually would rather punch any foes that come across." "No, not this time you two." Knuckles states. "That scum ruined my home and slaughtered my people. He deserves no honor."

Juggernaut then appears erupting from the ground and leaping into the sky before landing with a quaking thud. "Ooh good jump from the Juggernaut, bitch. Also who the fuck claimed I am a dude?! I'm all woman bitch!" Tails and Knuckles are shocked at hearing that with Tails remarking. "So are you like a transsexual or something?" Only for the fox child to be brutally kneed in the face. Causing both him and Madoka to fly off and crash into the side of a loop the loop before splashing into the Azure lake itself. With Juggernaut screaming. "I'm all woman bitch!" Then composing herself and remembering. "Oh yeah, the boss wants that girl captured alive. Oh well..." A furious Knuckles then tries to jump Juggernaut. But her serpentine right arm catches the echidna and attempts to crush him while the snake head pries open in attempt to eat her victim while Knuckles struggled to fight off.

Tails and Madoka swim to the surface as the battle continues. When they get to the shore Tails asks again if Madoka can do anything. To which the girl sorrowfully states that she cannot. Tails merely looks forward to the battlefield and readies himself to fly over. Madoka tries to stop the fox boy by grabbing his arm and screaming. "Why?! Why do you keep going?!" Tails merely responded with. "Because they need my help." And then flies off to join the fight all the while Madoka watches frozen by fear. Then the pinkette clutches her head and falls to her knees as strange memories surge thru her mind. Memories of a world and life completely unfamiliar to her. Friends and family she cannot recognize. And giant horrors that defy logic and reason. As well as memories of a young girl crying in despair as her cat had been hit by a car and killed. And the white furred creature who promised to grant her wish.

"Make a contract with me, and become a magical girl."

Madoka then screams to the skies as magical power bursts from her body and a pair of angelic wings explode from her back. The power created a shock wave that threw Tails for a loop and collided with Juggernaut and Knuckles. Weakening the former and empowering the latter allowing Knuckles to break free from his bindings and counter with a punch to the monsters face. After bouncing off from the attack. Knuckles then fires of a rapid fire flurry of punches that body Juggernaut actually managing to cause the invincible giant to fall to her knees and scream in agony. "NO! This is impossible!" Juggernaut screams at the echidna as an aura of energy coalesces from his body and takes the form of a red rhinoceros that loudly bellows into the Blight's face, stunning her silent as a mahou driver appears on Knuckles wrist.

"Final move! Finish it splendidly!" The device yells out as Knuckles fists glow burning red. And Knuckles with a new incredible speed blitzes Juggernaut. "Ei Kageki Ken!" And launches a series of punches that disembowel the Juggernaut. As Knuckles punches clean thru the giant monster. "Don't bother, you are already dead." Knuckles remarks to Juggernaut who can barely scream out. "But.. I'm the Juggernaut bitch!" Before her body expands and explodes in a scene reminiscent to Fist of the North star.

Tails then finds Knuckles. Having recovered from the shockwave and touched down to see the carnage. Looking at the remains of Juggernaut and remarking. "So that's how a meme dies, huh?" Before going to Knuckles and asking. "How did you do that?" Knuckles returning to normal replies. "Dunno, I saw an opening and I took it. That's all." "Wait is that the device that Madoka has?" Tails remarks causing his friend to realize and point out that Tails also has one now. The two agree to return to Madoka and Tails airlifts Knuckles to her location.

Unbeknownst to the others Kyubey had also witnessed the event and teleported himself to where Madoka was located. Who at this time had passed out from the strain of awakening her powers. Kyubey looks at the unconscious girl and pulls out a pistol which he then cocks and aims at Madoka's head using his ears as makeshift arms. "Well, well, well. This is a surprise. Then again those damn Reibai always had a habit of stealing our work. But not for long. I've dealt with you and your friends for far too long. So this time there will be no grand manipulations. Or brilliant master plan. No, this time I will kill you and be done with it. Goodbye Madoka Kaname." Kyubey is then blown up by Gamma. Catching the alien off guard and destroying his vessel.

Tails and Knuckles reach the area and find Gamma and Kyubey's fried remains. Gamma remarks. "I see that you too have a driver now." As Gamma reveals his own Mahou driver copy much to the others surprise. "These are copies formed by Madoka's power. They also function identical to hers." Tails notes that Gamma seems to know a lot about the situation. To which he confesses. "I was rebuilt for the purpose of watching over the girl." And then looks towards Holy summit. The second highest peak in Angel island next to Red Mountain. "Head to the Echidna village. The Cycles cult has turned the area into its base of operations. If you can disable it. You can stop the island." Knuckles remarks. :That's fine and all. But what about the girl?" Gamma states that she will take care of her. While Knuckles is hesitant to leave. Tails remarks that they need to liberate the island. Also Amy and Cream trust Gamma. So they should give him a chance as well. "Fine!" Knuckles responds as the duo goes on their way.

Once the two mobians are gone. A portal opens from which Kagemusha and Dandy appear. Kagemusha looks at the unconscious Madoka with visible contempt. At least as much as his concealing armor could. Gamma asks if Kagemusha will kill her to which he refuses. "No, I want her to watch. After all Pandora is in the cusp of its final victory. And her despair will be the spark that gives rise to the savior." Then Kagemusha opens a portal that sends Madoka away to safety. After the portal disappears the masked man looks at his companions and says. "Rejoice! For she is the king of all magical girls! Traveling space and time to bring salvation to us all!" As the trio heads of to battle.

Echidna village Pachacamac

Tails and Knuckles break into the village. Which is now a series of fortifications formed out of the ruins of the village, alien technology, and makeshift components based of old Eggman tech and traps that Knuckles once used to deal with intruders. As shown when spikes erupt all over the floor and giant spiked balls are chucked at the duo. With Knuckles powering thru the traps and Tails using his skills and his bombs to take out the machinery. A large horde of Skullraisers pour out as Porker watches on. "What are you doing you fools?" The brainwashed pig screams at other Skullraisers who are getting a giant multi missile launcher ready. "Hurry up and get the Fish cannon ready!" As several grunts work on the launcher and loading badniks and red spheres.

Tails ans Knuckles meanwhile fight off the swarms of Raisers that try to kill them. Among them a brainwashed Relic the Pika, Dende, Chuckles, and The Jaws of death somehow. Whom all try to gang up on Knuckles all at once. While Tails fought another swarm led by the Penguinator much to his surprise. "Seriously?" "Yes, I the great Penguinator have returned from hell itself! To take vengeance on you puny organic lifeforms! Only now as the head of the first! Penguin! Empire!" Only to get blown to pieces by Tails using his thunder ball gun who remarked. "I never liked that guy." Before being forced to flee by the angry Raisers.

Knuckles meanwhile is forced to fight his brainwashed friends (and Chuckles...) Being forced to pull his punches as they try to kill him without remorse. Placed on the back foot while Tails is struggling to keep his distance in order to strike back. Dende taunts Knuckles as Chuckles tries to crush him to death. "You really are a fool guardian! If only you didn't buy into Eggman's nonsense we would still be alive!" "Dende..." Knuckles mutters before being grabbed by Chuckles and body slammed into the ground. With both heroes in a pinch the fish cannon rises from the former elder's house. Demolishing the entire building. With Porker in charge he fires a salvo of missiles. Which are actually red spheres, bumpers, Jawz, Pointdexter, Clamer, Orbinaut and Mega chopper badniks. Which instead of hitting Tails and Knuckles. Hit his fellow Raisers killing most of them in a series of explosions. Except Relic who gets smacked by the bumpers and is launched into the sky before falling down a well. And Chuckles who gets hit by a red sphere and is seemingly warped out of reality. Knuckles is horrified at such actions while Porker reveals himself reveling in the carnage.

"Well everyone's dead! Oh, wait... Ready another salvo!" The Raiser grunts hurry to reload the launcher with more stuff much to the pig's frustration. Before Knuckles sneak attack punches him. Knocking him out of the machine. While Tails gets inside the mechanism in order to destroy it while the echidna and the raiser pig start fist fighting each other. "What the hell is your problem?!" Knuckles screams as he continuously punches Porker in the face and upper body. "I'm dead! I'm a slave! And i'm gay!" Knuckles stopped for a minute and screamed out. "Say, what?!" Only for Porker to hit Knuckles by a low blow to the groin and laugh it off. "I lied bitch!" Knuckles is covering his crotch in pain as the pig smiles and heads on to strangle Knuckles.

Tails meanwhile fought the other grunts using his thunder ball to fire gunk shots that stop two of them in their tracks. While the third one tosses his sickle causing it to explode. And Tails is forced to toss it. As he and the Raiser fight each other around the control room. Until Tails uses his skills to counter and toss him into the machinery. Electrocuting the raiser and causing the entire to go up in flames and explode as Tails flees. As Tails flies off the foundation of the weapon breaks and the entire machine falls on top of Porker who was strangling Knuckles. And if the fifty tons of metal and stone didn't kill Porker. Then the explosion that totaled what was left of the village immediately afterwards or the bleeding as the machine tore of both of the pigs arms. With the device missing Knuckles by inches. And the explosion being a minor inconvenience against the guardians physical might.

"Knuckles! Are you alright?!" Tails asked as he landed on the burning ruins of Echidna village. To which Knuckles grimly replied. "I'm fine. But I don't think Porker is." As Knuckles yanks out Porker's severed hands and tosses them into the ground. As the duo look on at the fire that is consuming the village. Knuckles sighs in exhaustion and states. "Let's end this..." With grim determination as the duo continue on their way.

Master emerald shrine

Knuckles bangs down the entrance doors which causes the stone slabs to collapse and fall into the ground. As the heroes head inside, taking down any stragglers that try to stop him. Until they reach the place where the Master emerald was. Which the cult has transformed into a large and tacky golden throne where Kyubey is sitting, waiting for his opponents to come to him. As he looks down at the resistance members Tails wonders what the hell is that thing. To which Kyubey responds to. "Once upon a time. I was a fairy that granted wishes. A god amongst your ignorant primitive kin. But then you rebelled and fought back." Tails is shocked and Knuckles is confused. As the duo realizes that the creature is speaking inside their heads. "Oh yes Miles Prower. I am communicating with you with my mind. And I can read yours. I'm surprised, considering that the mahou drivers are meant to keep me from exerting my influence. But then again I also have one." As Kyubey reveals his driver. A purple colored one. "As I recall this belonged to a certain woman. She's dead now. I killed her after all. And destroyed her world. That filthy bitch deserved it. As she ruined my life. Took my glory. And ruined my plans to stop entropy."

Knuckles just looks confused and asks. "What are you?" Kyubey muses. "Oh yes. How rude of me. I am Kyubey. And I will kill you. And then that girl, Madoka. Oh, I will take my sweet time breaking her." A pillar of black fire consumes the throne as Tails and Knuckles ready for battle. As Kyubey comes out in his avatar form and takes flight, Firing a salvo of missiles from his wings that Tails and Knuckles take down causing them to fly off and explode in the distance harmlessly.

Collective Consciousness: Metal Gear Revengeance

The trio began the battle with Tails and Knuckles trying to close the distance while Kyubey flies away as the entire building is shaken to the core. With Kyubey screaming. "Oh what now?!" With a panicked Raiser reporting. "Sir! We're being invaded!" A furious incubator screams. "By who?!" The screen then shows a robot army attacking the island. Tails thinks that its Eggman but Knuckles notices and points out that the robots are much more capable than your standard badnik horde. And that the cycles cult is freaking the hell out.

Angel island's engines

The engines that hold Angel island aloft without the Master emerald are exploding as hordes of Sumeragi troopers led by three of the four Sumeragi generals. Firewall, A crimson variant with a shoulder mounted cannon and micro missile launchers all over his body who led the Artillery Sumeragi and the three generals with his strategic mind. Kickback, a cool brooding purple variant with a large spherical wheel replacing his feet and lighter armor and armament in charge of the Scout Sumeragi. And Air Raid a boastful and talkative yellow variant with massive shoulder pads that allow him to fly at high speeds and rockets mounted in his legs whom did most of the talking of the trio. Who led the Aerial Sumeragi. These three variants alongside the Sumeragi troopers swarmed the island. Quickly routing the enemy thru combined arms tactics and superior skills and training that could easily defeat the numerically superior Skullraisers. With Firewall personally taking Relic as a prisoner and reclaiming Fixit's parts before returning and letting the other two finish the job.

All the while the Karasu, Dokuga, and Uma machines strafe, bomb, or otherwise annihilate other supporting facilities. Leaving behind an ocean of flames and death. As the trio reconvene Dokuga machine which is a moth themed variant of the Uma machine that serves as Dandy's evolution form questions where Monika ran off to. Gamma has no idea where she went to and Kagemusha is indifferent commenting. "Do I look her spouse? Maybe she finally decided to get lost." Kagemusha then flies off into the distance. Gamma remarks. "Those two aren't married?"

Back at the shrine

"It's over Jyubey!" Knuckles comments as a large fat Skullraiser falls from the roof with a giant chainsaw and tries to dismember the fox and echidna. The Raiser revealed to be the village elder screams out in madness. "Naiiiil! Naiiiil!" As he charges with chainsaw in tow destroying everything in his path. Kyubey flies off in retreat like a coward stating. "Well it's time to get the hell out of here!" And while Knuckles tries to stop him the elder blocks his way with his chainsaw attacks. While Tails lobs numerous bombs at the giant. Which all explode in his face. The elder merely tanks the bombs as the island begins to plummet from the sky.

"Tails! Get the rocket launcher!" Knuckles yells as he holds back the berserk echidna. "Seriously..." Tails comments to which Knuckles yells. "Just go!" Tails flies off doubtful that he can find a rocket launcher as Knuckles boxes the chainsaw wielding psycho. Dodging the saw while giving body blows to the Raiser. The elder lunges the chainsaw forward. But Knuckles leaps over the elder as he crashes chainsaw first into a wall., Knuckles tried to snap the elder out of the brainwashing. Only for him to tear down an entire foot thick wall of stone much to the guardians shock. Causing the guardian to internally pray that Tails finds a solution.

Meanwhile Tails searches the shrine fuming about the absurdity of finding a rocket launcher. Comparing the whole thing to something out of Resident evil when he actually does stumble into not just a rocket launcher. But an actual ATM-4 rocket launcher. Shocked at seeing this Tails muses. "Well, I guess this makes me Leon Kennedy." As he picks up the gun and heads back to the fight. Where Knuckles and the Elder have reached a stalemate. With the former not able to take down the latter. And the latter unable to hit the former at all. The two echidnas face each other off until they commit to one final strike. As the duo charge towards each other. It seems that the two will strike each other down. Until Knuckles pulls a feint and punches the side of the chainsaw, Causing the blade to snap in two and become useless. The elder is stunned at the situation. Something that Tails takes advantage of by firing the rocket launcher at the elder. A direct hit that pierces thru his exposed head and causes him to explode. Leaving nothing but a smoldering lower half still standing.

Tails reunites with Knuckles who silently bows towards his fallen compatriots. Tails sheepishly wonders. "So, do you think we will get in trouble for regicide?" Knuckles merely states. "It's fine...Anyways let's get outside before this place finishes crumbling." The duo take their leave as Angel island crash lands in the seas around the borders of the Acorn Archipelago. Returning to Azure lake to pick up Madoka and the Tornado. They realize that the girl is gone. As the two prepare to search for her. They are told to return to South island as the Resistance is regrouping in Green Hills after Juggernaut's attacks destroyed much of Westside. It is also then that they hear that Madoka is fine and that she has been returned somehow. But is now locking herself in her room and not letting anyone in.

The Tornado then leaves Angel island. Flying over the ruined and battered island as a small combined fleet of Acorn and GUN ships head to secure the formerly floating island. Now seemingly abandoned as all combatants have retreated.

Pottery palace zone

Kagemusha and his allies have retreated to Pottery palace. Much to the annoyance of Master Shujin. As the masked man begins to scan Relic and Fixit's minds for information all the while the administrator of the cyan tower complains about the fact that the group is crashing. "Seriously, you left us to our own devices for like four millennia. And now you decide to show up and crash my place? No wonder Nicole turned traitor and Ponce is AWOL playing guild master somewhere."

Kagemusha simply asks. "So is anyone still doing something?" Shujin remarks that Yasha the administrator of the red tower is the only one who is still serving in their post. To which Kgemusha remarks. "I see, no wonder Monika took the Chaos emeralds." Shujin shocked and outraged screamed. "What?! Why?!" To which Kagemusha simply remarks. "To kill me obviously. After all the role of the apprentice is to depose the master and take over. And she was tasked and trained by Kagami to kill me in case I go rogue." Shujin hangs his head in shame complaining about how the Reibai are all messed up. A comment that Kagemusha ignores as he continues probing.

"Still the final phase of the plan has started. If i'm to regain my full power. I'm going to have to eliminate the remaining Blights and feed them to the Pandora driver. So I guess its time I take care of things." Kagemusha muses as he begins to copy their data into a certain sword. "Still I got lucky to stumble into actual Gizoid data. This will help me with my tasks."

Around the same time at GUN Fortress

The Commander enters the bridge of the Fortress where Oriko Mikumi is also there looking at the many screens that feed data from all around Mobius to the facility. Commander Tower being informed that Team Dark has returned but it seems that the Deathglamer is not only heavily damaged. But its communications package has been disabled. As Tower is informed of the situation and told that the ship is on a collision course. Tower orders to shoot it down before it can damage the fortress. But before the anti air defenses could do anything the entire craft explodes in midair. Much to almost everyone's shock. Except Oriko who quietly smiles at the explosion and at the sight of the giant robot that rises from the ground.

"What is going on?!" Are the Commander's last words before he is stabbed in the back by Oriko as the crystalline blade pierces thru the Commander's heart. He asks why as he coughs out blood. "Why? It's simple. This is the beginning of the end." Oriko takes her leave as Shadow Arc begins his rampage using chaos spears to nuke the defensive perimeter. Before flying to the bridge and using his scythe to tear apart the fortress. As everyone panics Abraham can only curse inwardly as the entire room explodes. Consuming everyone in the fiery explosions.

Kuro watches solemnly from a safe distance as Shadow Arc continues his rampage. When Oriko now in her Cycles cult uniform meets her. Kuro doesn't even bother to look at her before asking. "So I suppose that the deed is done." Oriko reveals a disk drive to which Kuro smiles as the two continue to watch as their slave continues to decimate all resistance with ease. Oriko meanwhile thinks. "This is only the first step. Soon Kirika, you will be avenged."

As for why Shortfuse was a woman? Well it was originally going to be a joke involving GIRL tropes. Also as everyone in the current timeline is a mix of organic and mechanical components at the genetic level. It is impossible for the robotizer to function. So Shorty was turned into a cybernik by essentially rewriting his DNA, pouring a highly dense and toxic metal into his bloodstream, and causing his body to transform into its current form. While he was conscious.

Cloning essentially works in a similar way as artificial mages from the Nanoha franchise. You may be able to recreate the physical body. But you cannot recreate the soul of the original. With the clones eventually diverging into becoming distinct individuals from the original as time passes on.

Yep, Juggernaut decided to crash Angel island into Westside. And things are going to get worse in the next chapter. Which begins the next story arc in Sonic Arc. The golden age arc, where the mysteries behind the magical girl war will finally be revealed. Cream is also dead and Antoine and Bunny are out of the picture as well. The reason for this actually came from Transformers Prime and how it is criticized for not sticking to its anyone can die status after Cliffjumper was killed in the first episode. Cheese is still alive but...

The Sumeragi are based on multiple sources. Of course they are mostly based on the Dark Axis from SD Gundam force. But the four generals and their variants are a mix of the Vehicons from Beast Machines and the Shitennou from Megaman Zero.
