Kyoto report # 66: The curse of immortality
It seems that after the end of the magical girl war a number of people have maintained their youth and vitality. Even long past logical limits.
While medical advances have been increasing the average life span after the Unification wars ended. It is still considered unnatural.
One thing they all have in common is that they were veterans of the battle of incubaa.
While they cannot age or die by natural causes. It seems that they can still die due to either being killed via external circumstances or by disease.
A good number of captured prisoners were needed to test out this development. So we are concerned that we will run out of test subjects.
Kyoto Report # 69: Heaven
A new world located in the disk sector at the edge of the milky way galaxy was recently discovered.
A waterlogged world dotted with islands full of ruins. That is named Halcyon by the locals.
The locals themselves are an amazing discovery! The humans of that world or the carbons are a perfect symbiotic fusion of organic and machine!
The science teams immediately scrambled towards the new world in an attempt to study it and make contact.
With several agents staying in deep cover to map future developments and eventually allow for first contact.
ADDENDUM:
Apparently they spoke of a location called Heaven which was located on their moon. Which is also called Heaven. Where ancient gods once gathered and delivered destruction to the land.
We sent parties to this area to find it recently abandoned and without anything that could be used. But we did gain information on other facilities in Kattlelox, Ryship, Terra, and Klicklean. As well as information on Eden.
The science team and exploration guild will collaborate with the newly formed burial fleet to secure these ruins and claim their secrets.
ADDENDUM:
The primary ruins in Kattlelox,and Klicklean have been secured. With both Ryship and Terra having long been cleaned out alongside Eden where resistance was the most fierce.
Along the way the science team collected samples of the security robots which are being reverse engineered to create guardian units for the towers.
Klicklean was the most interesting though as a massive underground bunker was found containing similar systems to those found in Heaven.
The facility was raided and the both the automated defenses and the central AI were dismantled. With the entryway collapsed to ensure that no one will be hurt by accident.
Plans are now being drafted for the conversion of the populace into Carbon type organisms. These of course are to be kept as beyond top secret.
Chapter 38: Ophanim
Pandora has been achieved and the cosmos has been destroyed. All that is left is a large island floating in the abyss known as Spiral island. The survivors of the purge being hunted by an endless machine army under the Demon King Pandora. A land of Chaos were the remnants of the universe are merged together. Once all of the survivors are sacrificed to the Embryo. The new universe will be born, using the souls as fuel for a new big bang.
The year is... No, there is no year. While Spiral island does have a concept of time. People do not age and the sky is under an endless twilight sky. And no one truly knows how long have the people lived in Spiral island.
Spiral oceans, The western beach
The beach. It is exactly as you would expect. A massive, seemingly never ending tropical beach that separates the ocean from the forest and the city. Golden sand, palm trees, and even more destroyed settlements. This time a fishing village that used to serve as a trading post for the survivors that was carpet bombed into oblivion. A place seemingly devoid of life underneath an eternal midday sun. "So, what now?" Sticks asks as she is carrying a bundle of coconuts while the others are taking refuge from the sun in a bus stop. Why is there a bus stop in the middle of a beach is a complete mystery. But shade is shade. So nobody cared to ponder about it. Tails explains. "Well, first we need to get Sonic to stop freaking out." As they look to Sonic who is panicking about the sea all the while mumbling and loudly swearing in a corner. "We find a boat and then find the location where the barrier is manifested."
Sticks then gives the coconuts to Knuckles and Amy who proceed to open them all with the latter noting that its a good thing that there is at least ways to get food and water. Knuckles looks at the ocean and questions how is this even possible. "The driver if I were to guess." Touka notes. "Kagemusha had tried this before and failed." Tails muses. "Yeah we saw it. That's how our current universe was created." Tails face then darkens in realization. "Is she trying to do that again?!" The two looks at Monika who nods in confirmation. "Not just that. He wants to permanently deal with the whole Puella Magi problem. That was the grand plan of the Reibai. Revenge on the incubators who enslaved them long ago. And they are not satisfied with killing them all. They want to erase their legacy from reality. And damn the consequences and whoever gets screwed over in the crossfire." "By the way Monika. Why do you refer to Kagemusha as a man after the reveal?" Knuckles remarks only to be elbowed by Amy. "It was a legitimate question!" Monika smiles and explains. "Oh, it's fine. Its just that I thought I knew Tsurugi. I thought I could get her to stop this. But know I see that I knew nothing. We were both being manipulated all this time by that woman. Kagami Ichijin. She took advantage of our desperation, our suffering, and our despair at being abandoned and turned us into monsters." As Monika looks downward in shame. Amy once again elbows Knuckles for being so rude.
Some time afterwards the group heads to find a boat only to come up empty. After some talking they decide to make a raft from the materials around the area. And after a week of work the raft was completed. A simple construct composed of a series of logs tied together, a crude sail, and a bag full of supplies. Which ends up being all for nothing as they are swiftly swallowed by a large biomechanical armor plated whale shortly after setting off. With Alex Kidd following in hot pursuit by swimming. "This is all Sonic's fault!"
Ballena de Hierro, Underwater
Inside the giant whale creature. Sonic and company find themselves inside what would be considered the stomach. Which ends up looking like a luxury hotel's reception lobby alongside fish flopping around the stomach. "Okay, this is new." Sticks remarks in complete calm. Probably because recent events have been so much that she just broke. Something that the others notice while Sonic walks around with a smile remarking. "Well at least we don't have to deal with water now." He then falls quickly into dread as he notes. "But another whale has tried to eat me." Remembering the other three times he was chased by a hungry whale. Knuckles ponders. "If you had a fracta for every time a giant fish tried to eat you. You would have four fracta. It's not much. But its strange that it keeps happening."
As Touka presses the bell out of curiosity a musical chine and then a woman's voice can be heard from the nearby speakers. "Welcome to the Ballena de Hierro." Both Monika and Touka recognize that this is a Ballena class luxury transport. A sort of cruise designed for underwater travel. "We will reach Angel island in one hour." The others react to the announcement of Angel Island especially Knuckles as the voice kept talking. "Please enjoy your stay and pay a visit to our other decks where state of the art facilities, first class room, and board and high quality food and beer are readily available." Touka bolts to the elevator screaming. "BEER!" Leaving everyone else in the dust and impressing Sonic of all people with her speed. The group later heads towards the same elevators and wander around exploring the ship. With Knuckles and Sticks taking a dip in the hot springs. Touka heading to the dining room buffet where she is both stuffing her face and getting piss drunk. Sonic and Tails are in the arcade competing in a series of ping pong matches while Monika is resting on a bed as she was deep in her thoughts.
"An Atlantal craft huh?" Monika thinks as she recalls about the founding worlds of the IFS. Mainly Atlanta whose history can be splint into two eras. The days where Atlanta was a home for humanity. And the era where the rick and well connected use the world as a hedonistic paradise. A world where the three kings treat as a playground. With Barragan Natch being one of the three kings and their leader. That world was heavily aquatic not helped that the world was heavily polluted and suffering from horrible global warming that even the many, many towers are barely keeping afloat. The Ballena class was a transport and pleasure cruise that was at first used to ferry around people and cargo underwater. With older Ballena designs being used in other aquatic worlds around IFS territory. Monika yawns as she drifts asleep on the bed.
Knuckles and Sticks are still in the hot tub. With Sticks being forced to get out due to the heat. "Getting out Sticks?" Knuckles remarked to the badger who comments. "Unlike you I can't power thru getting boiled. Anyways i'm going to the dining hall." Knuckles simply stretches inside the tub and yawns as he remembers angel island. "Angel island huh?" Knuckles also thinks back to Angel island. "The Zoah huh?" Remembering an old story he heard from Relic the Pika. As she translated a series of slates in an old temple.
"Apparently a long time ago there were multiple times where there were several tribes in Angel island. Then the Nocturne clan attacked. They got their hands on some advanced ancient weapons and waged war on the world. At least on the Argus event happened where the entire nation of Nocturne disappeared overnight." Relic explained all the while Knuckles placed his hand on the mural. "Didn't the history books called that event the Day of Chaos where the guardian god of the island destroyed the tribe and forced the island aloft?" "Apparently that part happened at the same time. It's just that the Nocturne were purged from history by the first guardian Lady Tikal."
Returning to the present Knuckles muses. "And now we found the Chaos emeralds. The very thing responsible for the Day of Chaos. Still I wonder where the Nocturne got their weaponry. And why did my ancestors go to all the trouble of burying the place?" Knuckles screams in frustration as he complains about how complicated things have become. "Seriously i'm a guardian and treasure hunter! This stuff is above my pay grade."
Sticks enters the dining room where Touka has finished off the food and booze causing the former to scream at the latter in anger only to find that Touka is dead drunk. Sitting alone holding a wine glass and is whirling the red wine inside while hiccuping and falling over. "What is wrong with you?!" Sticks screams as she angrily complains to the young genius. "Seriously! This is why I stay inside my cave!" Calming down for a bit Sticks bemoans her situation. Then Touka states something rather profound. "So, you're fine just doing nothing?" Sticks is actually forced to pause and think for a moment as the girl rambled on. "For who knows how long now, i've been living like the dead. Being forced to work under multiple assholes and for what? My parents are dead, my sister is dead, my best friends are dead, and I have been forced to spend years here. Not sure whether I would live to see another day. At this point getting hammered is the only way to cope." Sticks looks legitimately upset as she tries to comfort her companion. Only for Touka to puke on her and pass out much to Sticks annoyance.
Meanwhile in the arcade. Tails has beaten both Sonic and Amy in one of the Tekken arcade cabinets and is rejoicing. "All hail the king baby!" Sonic is merely amused nothing that Tails has grown up from the timid bullied fox he found in Westside. "By the way Tails. I've never really asked. But what is this Le terrible something or other school that you, Cream, and Maw were part of?" Tails simply answers. "I'm sure you heard the stories. How the former king wanted to close the tech gap between the Acorn archipelago and the United Federation. So they kidnapped a bunch of war orphans and experimented on them in order to create mad scientists and super soldiers. Then Maximilian died, the war ended out of fear that Center would interfere, and King Nigel shut down the project. Cream got adopted, Maw went crazy and joined Eggman, and I headed to Westside where the two of us met. The place was hell, hundreds died either from the experiments, the training, or just good old murder and suicide." Sonic simply looks on in shock. While Amy is sad and empathetic about his situation. With the pink hedgehog asking if he wants to do something else. If for no other reason than to change the subject to which Tails merely responds that maybe they should find out how long it will take to reach the island.
Some time has passed as a chime wakes up Monika as the voice announces. "We have reached Launch base zone in Angel island. All passengers please prepare to disembark thru the stomach area and past the throat and mouth." The AI girl gets up and heads to the stomach where she meets the others. "Sup! I see that Touka was drinking again." Pointing out to Sticks whose clothes are covered with puke. And Touka who is in a corner moaning about the noise. The passage outside opens up showing the Launch base. An old Eggman base from long ago as Sonic remarks. "Let's go!" As the group leaves the Ballena with the voice announcing. "Thank you and please come again!"
Launch base zone, Angel island
Ost: Launch base zone Act 1: Sonic 3 and Knuckles
"I can't believe it! Angel island, my home!" Knuckles alongside the rest look on as they see that Angel island has been restored to how it looked before the invasion. With the guardian struggling to hold back manly tears at the sight of his home being healed of its devastation. Even if they did land on an old Eggman base. "What is that?" Amy asks as she points to the center of the island, the Red mountain which seems to have covered in large black slabs that lead to an orbital elevator. Knuckles steps forward and notes. "Where the next generator is. Let's go everyone." As the group moves onward they are stopped by a series of screams as an strange monkey man leaps out of the sea and falls to his knees in exhaustion. "Finally! I can't believe I swam for two thousand miles straight! But I finally found you Sonic!" Sonic is then filled with dread and frustration as he realizes that Alex Kidd has found him. "Not you again! Why can't you just die like the Sega Master system!" Alex trying to maintain his bravado even when exhausted retorts. "Shut up! I will not stop until I kill you!" Knuckles steps forward and asks. "And what the hell happened this time Sonic?" "Alex Kidd, according to him he was Sega's mascot before I replaced him. Frankly I don't know what he's complaining about since I had to deal with NiGHTS and Like a dragon. He's also been trying to kill me in my sleep like some sort of saiyan Freddy Krueger." Knuckles simply stands silent before making it clear that he regrets ever asking. Alex meanwhile manages to use the chaos to send Sonic to another aurora curtain before attacking the others all at once.
Sonic is once again tossed out into some strange other world face down muttering Onore Decaido as he hits the floor. As the blue hedgehog got himself up he notices that he has found himself in a dried up ruin with numerous giant rib cages and skulls dot the area alongside scores of dead bodies which met a very violent death as a dry wind blows thru the area as Sonic looks around the place. "Well this is great. Another crazy world." A large double sided golden axe is chucked at the hedgehog who manages to notice it without looking at it and grabbing it as the ax flew back. Noticing that the one who threw said weapon. A very large, very buff, monster of a man clad in barbarian armor with his chest bare and purple armor with a concealing horned helmet. Who pulls away his weapon with his telekinesis. Sonic smiles and snarks back "I see someone took a took turn a wrong turn at Val Halen." Which caused the large man to punch him in the face with the large man growling. "I am Death Adder! King of giants and Overlord of the land of Yuria!" With the ax growing far bigger. The same twelve feet long that he is tall. "And this is the Golden axe! The ultimate power that brings about endless darkness!"
Death Adder

"Wow! Talk about golden ham." Sonic snarks as the two began their fight. Speed against power as both of them fight with skill. Sonic outrunning Adder and searching for openings. While Adder is a powerful combatant that counters Sonic's moves with little problem. Adder is impressed with the hedgehog dropping his guard as holding out his hand. "Join me." Which left Sonic stunned. "Join my army. And become the greatest in Yuria! Or else you will die!" Sonic rejects the offer which angers Adder. "You're just like that dwarf with the ax. He tried to avenge his brother! And then I killed him as well!" Raising his weapon Adder causes a lightning storm to attack with that demolishes everything in the area except Sonic who gets at Adder's back and kicks him in the neck at mach 1 speed in hopes of ending things. Only for the giant to tank the blow, grab the hedgehog's leg and slam him into the ground. Raising his ax and swinging down at Sonic. Who catches it with his feet and uses his power to transmit lightning thru the Golden axe shocking Adder forcing him to back off and stunning him as well. Sonic recovers as Adder fires off a massive surge of fire which Sonic counters with wind. Using the Yellow's emerald slow to leap above the flames and spin attack into the helmet in such as speed that it manages to crack it and make him bleed. Enraging the muscle bound freak as Adder body blows Sonic in retaliation before skewering him with his helmet horns and dragging Sonic thru the ground before crashing into a boulder that explodes. Then stomping him underfoot as he chuckled evilly.
Sonic struggled and groaned in pain as Death Adder stomped on him before attempting to kill the former again with the Golden Axe. Only for the ax to stop. Leaving the giant unable to finish the strike as the ax fought for control. Electrocuting, burning, and exploding the conqueror while trying to break free. While Adder struggled to subjugate it once more with his brute force. "You wretched scrap! I am your master!" He screamed as a bright glow consumes the trio. Leaving Adder alone and without his weapon. As he screams to the sky in rage.
Sonic meanwhile is inside the space between dimensions. Waking up to see the Golden Axe floating above him both glowing and speaking at his prescience. "I am the Golden Axe. And you need to become stronger." Then the artifact summons a curtain that sends Sonic back home before shattering. With the pieces flying away into the sky and scattering all around the land.
Meanwhile Death Adder is still throwing a tantrum before being backstabber by a sword which comes out from his stomach. Causing him to keel over which allows a group of vengeful dwarfs who proceed to shank Adder with swords before decapitating the giant for good measure. The body then falling down and bleeding out from the wounds while the dwarfs take the enemy head with them.
Back at launch base. Sonic is spat out muttering. "Ugh! That was a pain! Anyways where is that monkey freak?!" Looking around he finds that Alex Kidd has been beaten to within an inch of his life as the others ask Sonic to help them. A short while after. Sonic and Knuckles chuck him over a cliff and into the sea where Alex Kidd sinks beneath the waves. "And this time stay dead!" Sonic screams at the sea. His patience with his sempai reaching its limits and the group walks away towards Red mountain.
Azure lake
Sonic and company cross thru Angel island. Heading inward to the center until reaching Azure lake which has also been restored to its previous form. A large blue lake with vast grasslands and littered ruins surrounding it. After seeing the place, Tails wonders if the echidna village and the master emerald are here again. Something that Knuckles shoots down as he felt that even if it was restored it would be somewhere else under enemy guard. Something that Sonic and Monika both agree upon. Still, Knuckles couldn't help to think back about what happened to his friends and his people ...And Chuckles. "I wonder if I can convince Sonic to leave Chuckles dead?"
In the skies above a Ginko Baraba. A ship descended from the Ginko Balboa only designed from the ground up as a IFS standard craft. Being a sleek silver saucer with a large crystal tree extending from the center and extending its roots through the top part of the craft. With the lower half having a retractable tungsten launcher. A rod of god type weapon that uses a railgun to fire massive tungsten rods at planetary targets at hypersonic speeds. And of course the standard military armament of all ships made during the s.h. 100's. Such as numerous high caliber blasters, Itano class missile batteries, flak cannons and other defensive and interception weaponry, and finally redundant armor and shielding and standard issue EMP protection. A weapon compliment that has been mostly unchanged until today. Inside a crew of Sumeragi troopers protected by Tenno locates Team Sonic and begins to follow them from high up. "Sir!" One of the troopers reported. "The target has been located." A gold colored trooper with a distinct heart shaped commander's antenna simply laughs and orders the use of the rods as well as orders for the Flying battery to head to azure lake and prepare for a bombing run. The mechanical soldiers prepare to activate the rod from god. As the lower part of the craft extend and separate as electromagnetic energy charges up as a tungsten rod is loaded into the gun. The golden commander orders his men to fire. The ship fires the weapon as the rod rockets onto the ground. Crashing into the very lake itself catching the Resistance off-guard, exploding like a gun as everyone and everything is sent flying into the air as the commander laughs at the sight of it all. "Someone set us the bomb! And it was me! Dio!"
In the following aftermath. The lake has become a giant crater. With the surrounding landscape being shattered as a giant metal rod has been lodged in the center of the lake itself. Sonic gets up coughing up water as he catches his breath. "Crap, is everyone alright?" Monika gets up next as she moans. "I'm fine, where is everyone else?" The duo then head off to find the others. With Knuckles being relatively unharmed alongside Amy. Tails is both dazed and left blind because of the explosion, with Sticks and Touka taking the worst of it. Touka losing her her right arm and half of her face and Sticks having her back broken after a tree lands on top of her as the two were the ones closest to the impact zone. With things getting worse as the Flying battery descends from the sky and prepares a bombing run. Sonic looks horrified at the sight and screams at everyone to run. With Knuckles once again carrying Sticks and Amy helping Tails as the group follows the guardian to safety as the carpet bombing begins.
The group hides inside the depths of the Endless mine zone. A massive and long abandoned mine where power stones were dug up. According to legend these stones powered the machines that the Nocturnus clan and later the Dingo's used as an energy source. And remnants of their influence still remain. Including broken down Gizoids, long abandoned excavators, and numerous weaponry and stockpiles alongside the occasional skeleton that was either abandoned after an accident or buried within the concrete walls that serve as support. Meanwhile both the Flying battery and the Ginko Baraba continued their assault. With the Eggman blimp/badnik factory pounding away the ground where the mine lies underneath much to Commander Dio's sadistic glee. "See! My ship, The World is the strongest ship in the world! Lieutenant Skyfall! Continue the bombing run and Ensign Itsuki ready the second shot! That hedgehog has to come out for air sooner or later. And when he does..." Both machines respond with a Roger, roger. As they continue with their tasks.
Meanwhile back inside the mine Amy and Monika are trying to help the wounded. As the later gives the former a crash course in emergency healing magic. All the while Sonic and Knuckles contemplate their next move. "It's a good thing that you know a perfect place to hide Knux. But I doubt that we will get to the island's center as we are right now." Knuckles agrees remarking. "It's only a matter of time until they decide to send troops. But there is a way to deal with the Battery." "I'm listening." There is a hidden mass driver cannon inside the mine. All we need to do is fire you with it and wreck the ship." Sonic smirks confidently stating. "Let's go knucklehead. It's time for payback against that ship!" The duo heads deeper into the mine by passing thru a tunnel. Meanwhile the Flying battery had run out of bombs and has now went upwards being unable to take out Sonic and company even if the entire area has been blasted to hell with Dio being frustrated with it all. Ordering his men to investigate the area with the Tenno landing around the perimeter as the Sumeragi descend with Extreme gears. Spreading across the ruins as Flying battery leaves to reload and The World keeps watch from above.
Reaching the security station. Sonic and Knuckles look at the Dingo clans munitions depot. Long abandoned by their masters as they pass thru crates and lockers full of weaponry until they enter the chamber where the mass driver was located. Knuckles activates the machine as Sonic jumps into the ammunition chamber as the guardian readies the cannon. Using the newest data of the area to notice that the Battery was gun and that another ship has takes its place. As well as numerous smaller enemies on the ground. Knuckles sighs as the cannon is set into place and the underground gate opens to reveal the cannon much to the shock of every Sumeragi on the ground. Only for Dio to calm them down. "A cannon? A cannon?" Dio notes as the ships database gives the schematics of the Dingo mass driver cannon. "The World is the strongest in za warudo! All troopers continue your mission! We shall drag out the furries... And tribute them!" The troopers leave the cannon alone and head to the endless mine. Knuckles curses inwardly as the cannon locks on to the ship and begins to charge a spin dashing Sonic. Knuckles pulls the trigger as a screaming noise fires off Sonic as a cannonball towards the Ginko. Crashing onto the hull but doing nothing as Dio laughs at the hedgehog as he watches waiting for him to fall as he orders his men to ready another salvo. Sonic is losing speed and cursing himself as he struggles to break thru. "Activate the point blank defenses! Blast that hedgehog out of the sky!" Dio orders only to be informed that they can't by his gunner Ensign Itsuki. "What?! Why not?!" "Because we don't have ventral defenses." "What kind of idiot doesn't build ventral defenses?! Space is a 3D space for crying out loud!" "Star Wars apparently, sir. There is a reason why the Ginko class has been discontinued for a very long time." "Never mind Itsuki. That fool will lose his spin and fall to the ground soon enough." Dio and the bridge crew continue to watch in anticipation as the helmsman Skyfall grabs a bucket of popcorn and begins chowing down.
Sonic continues trying to break thru the hull. Only to lose momentum and finally fall off. Lost in his thoughts of failure. Something inside the hedgehog just snaps as the same bloodshot eyes from before open and Sonic transforms into Super Sonic. As he laughs like a maniac and begins to charge up his light speed dash. Dio and his crew freak out. They try to enhance the shield only for Sonic to use the charged dash to shatter it. And then they decide to fire the rod from god. Only for Sonic to catch it point blank. And then send it back up, crushing the railgun and causing a massive explosion. Then Super Sonic smashes thru the cannon and up towards the top. Causing the tree to explode as the blue blur erupts from it. Then the entire weapons compliment opens fire. Which Sonic casually dodges as he destroys every weapon emplacement causing the spaceship to lose balance as Sonic finishes it off by buzz sawing thru the Gimko before landing on the ground as Sonic struggles to regain his mind. Meanwhile Dio in a final act of spite orders the ship to crash onto Sonic which the crew did. As the exploding craft attempts to crash into Sonic the hedgehog who just recovered his sanity and noticed the ship. Running away as the ship continues to chase Sonic until the former crashes and explodes. Forcing Sonic to outrun the fireball until getting to safety and losing his Super mode as the ship is completely destroyed. Killing the crew inside of it.
Inside the endless mine the troopers are spreading out inside the mine with the Resistance preparing to escape. With a still recovering Tails using bombs to collapse tunnels and Amy ambushing the enemy and destroying them with her tarot cards which are sharp enough to dismember robots and move around independently like funnels alongside her hammer. With Monika readying to escape having stabilized Sticks and Touka but still having their injuries. The broken back and lost arm and scars. Although they are healthy enough to escape as Knuckles exits the firing chamber and meets the others. "It's over." Knuckles reports as he grabs Sticks and lifts her into his back. "Everyone, head to the chamber. We will escape from here from the chamber. Monika communicates the retreat as Tails and Amy return to the room. With Tails blowing up all of the remaining corridors for good measure as everyone escapes using the firing chamber. Exiting thru the emergency hatch where they find Azure lake in ruins much to their horror. Amy somberly tells everyone to find Sonic and get out before reinforcements arrive.
After the battle ended Kickback watched as the resistance headed to Red mountain and was pondering the situation. "So, that is the power of Super Sonic? No wonder our father fears that power. To think that boy can naturally achieve the power we have struggled to obtain from millennia." The Sumeragi general begins to work on a console that causes sirens to blare out. "But he has no control. And for the sake of our plans we must reach him a lesson." A hangar in the heights of Nocturne as a large bio dragon was lifted up. A giant whose entire body was covered in bone armor that spreads its seven wings like a peacock with light blue highlights on its tips with its entire body beginning to glow green as it began to fly with its bone plated flippers and tail extending and hardening. And a massive armored head with downward pointing three downward pointing horns. With a furious roar the dragon took off as Kickback looked on. "And now Schelcoof has been unleashed." The Sumeragi's in Nocturne watched in fear as the massive guardian dragon. Whose size dwarfed the already large mass produced Panzers as the sirens blare all over the city. A captain rushed to the Sumeragi and told them. "Haven't you heard the siren?! It's time to leave, NOW." All of the robots flee to safety as the heavens roar with blue lightning.
Nocturne, Red mountain zone
At long last the group finally reaches Red mountain where the elevator that reached to the Hakubi was located. Only to find that the mountain has been merged with a large pitch black city that surrounds the mountain. Whose volcano is now active and pouring lava downward being piped to several areas of the city. With said city being a hodgepodge of ancient stone architecture and more advanced buildings with glowing blue neon lights keeping some brightness around the sudden change from a perpetual day to a perpetual night. As the group heads up thru the city, fighting off the city's automated defenses. When they notice that all of the armed guards have cleared out in a hurry. Leaving weaponry and supplies behind. Noticing a medical facility the group enters it and find CR chambers which they activate and place Tails and Sticks in. With Touka refusing to get in because someone needs to watch over the process while the others keep watch.
In the skies above the Shelcoof circles above. Using the cloud cover to stay hidden as he scans for his target. It's sensors then locate the Resistance. Not only due to their energy signatures but data that shows that the CR chambers in the mid levels are being used. Roaring with determination it dives straight into battle. Not aiming at the chamber but instead seeking to ferret out its prey.
Knuckles is wandering around the fallen city. Noting how Relic would freak out about the possibility of a long lost ancient city just appearing out of nowhere. When he hears a loud roar as a giant dragon descends from the sky and then rises to face Knuckles face to face leaving the echidna in utter shock as the beast somehow laughed at the guardian of the Master emerald. A newly determined Knuckles clenches his fists and charges at Shelcoof fists first screaming. "Get off my island!"

The unexpected enemy, Panzer Dragoon Zwei
Knuckles punched the giant bio beast in the face. Being too fast to the latter to react and powerful enough to cause Shelcoof to bleed and retreat before firing numerous arrows of light at Knuckles as Sonic and Amy come to intercept. "What the hell is that?!" Amy screams as she and Sonic dodge and weave past screens of deadly lasers. Sonic is amazed to see the monster remembering one of his previous lives to when he was playing Panzer Dragoon Zwei alongside Johnny Lightfoot where he saw the same dragon before getting a game over and throwing a tantrum in front of everyone much to the current blue blur embarrassment. "Where's the Anti-Monitor when you need him?" Sonic then speeds forward leaving Amy confused who muses. "Don't you mean the Omni-Viewer?" Amy followed suit as she used her hammer to reflect the beam spam as Sonic sneaked into the back of the dragon while Knuckles kept punching its head until it roared and launched its full barrage at Nocturne. Destroying most of the mid levels and taking out large of the upper and lower one while flying off into the skies with Sonic barely hanging on for dear life. After reaching the cloud cover Shelcoof began charging off an arrow of incredible power. Big enough to obliterate the entire island. Something that Sonic realizes and tries to stop but is prevented from doing so by the beasts arrows of light which home in on the hedgehog.
Above all that Kickback is also freaking out about the situation. "That damned beast! It's going to nuke the base. The shutdown codes have been overridden as well. Bridge crew, open fire on Shelcoof! It's time for a timeout you freak." The bow of the whale shaped ship begins charging up energy as well but is much faster than the dragon with the main mega particle cannon bending downwards and striking Shelcoof and Sonic dead on. Causing its attack to dissipate and to fall down into the upper areas of Nocturne. With Knuckles and Amy giving chase after it, going up the staircases that lead to the upper floors. Shelcoof meanwhile gets up only for its bony armor to crack and shatter revealing its bio mechanical flesh and the unconscious but somehow still alive Sonic is shaken off the back as the dragon roars in anger and attempts to get up using its hover devices. Until finally getting up and noticing Sonic. Preparing its laser to kill him only for Knuckles and Amy to assist. Using their attacks to finish shattering what was left of its plating leaving it screaming in pain as it fell. Knuckles dead lifted the draconic horror, ran to the edge of the platform and chucked it of the mountain. Causing it to slam thru several buildings until it crashed onto the ground. And while Shelcoof tried to get up again the Hakubi fires off more beams onto it until finally shutting down with its body smoking and sparking all over its body.
Knuckles and Amy grab Sonic and carry him back towards the middle floors where the CR chambers were located. After a freak out from Touka's part. Touka places both Sonic and herself into chambers as the restoration process was ending for Tails and Sticks.
Several hours later, the pod where Sonic was kept in drained the nanomachine salve that is used to restore patients at a cellular level via skin absorption. With the pods coordinator AI ensuring that everything goes smoothly and its patient isn't transformed into grey goo. Once that was done, the sealed hatch opened and the life support apparatus is retracted allowing those inside to walk out under their own power. Sonic then wakes up to find that both himself and everyone else is back to a hundred percent. Even Sticks and Touka seem just fine with limbs and walking ability restored. "Wow! Looks like you took the worst beating of us all!" Tails remarked as he helps Sonic get out of the pod. Touka stretches her body and mentions. "Well, he did tank a mega particle cannon designed to destroy worlds. I'm more impressed that you're still alive. No wonder Kagemusha held you in such high regards." "Still, i'm amazed that you can use this devices Touka." "Amy's right you know! It usually takes a medic to properly use the CR chambers." Both Amy and Knuckles remark, heaping praise on the young genius. "That's right! Praise me more! After all it was the Satomi group that created the CR technology you now all use!" Everyone else but Kagami pauses in shock with Tails noticing. "Wait, that means you're that Touka Satomi! Of the Satomi zaibatsu?! THE biggest medical conglomerate in the IFS?!" Touka smiles smugly as she begin to brag about herself, the Satomi group, and especially about her dad. Proudly praising her father and his many achievements only to be left alone by everyone else who headed to the upper floors with the genius continuing to brag unaware about her surroundings.
During that time a furious Kickback orders a retrieval of Shelcoof. With a group of Tenno's descending down the mountain as a frustrated general is taunted by Air Raid. "So, you fucked up killing Sonic. AND, you wrecked my prize?" "Shut up flyboy!" "Oh, i'm not letting this one go biker bot." Firewall then forces himself into the conversation to yell at them. "You fools! The enemy will soon breach the Hakubi where the generator is in! Withdraw, NOW!" Kickback turns back and leaves stating. "No, I will face them myself..." Air Raid continues mocking his rival. "Because i'm sure you will do better!" With the sky general cutting the comms towards a frustrated fellow general. "It seems that I will have to deal with those rebel fools." Before cutting his own comms as well.
Shitennou class Hakubi
"Wait for me!" Touka Satomi yelled as she caught up with Team Sonic. Catching her breath and puffing her cheeks. "Mou! How could you leave me behind like that!" Sticks remarks. "Considering that you were blabbing about your dad for 20 minutes..." "For your information you ignorant philistine. You are not aware of papa's greatness. For you see.." Knuckles covers both of the girls mouths as the others take their positions as the elevator descends. Revealing nothing. As the group pauses for a moment they enter it as the gates close. Sonic simply responds with. "I hope there's no elevator music this time.
As the group at long last goes up the orbital elevator. They witness Sky Sanctuary still relatively untouched. With it's more stable areas being turned into storage and supply depots. Ships and other craft furiously laboring to move the bounty of the sea to other locations. Apparently the four areas of Spiral mountain have depots like this for some reason. With Tails theorizing that even gods have to eat as the elevator reaches to top and find a familiar whale themed spaceship docked into the tower. "The Hakubi..." Monika murmurs as the entry ramp in the mouth opens up leading to a horde of scout types to pour out of the ship. With Kickback observing as he uses the power of the aqua Chaos emerald to liquefy his troops allowing them to attack without fear of retaliation. Unable to strike back while the Sumeragi forces swarmed the top floor causing Tails to bolt to the Hakubi and attempt to hack the system in order to shut the entry ramp leaving the scouts outside who continues attacking all the while. Weaving thru the chaos, Tails gets inside the ship and takes out his Miles electric and begins to hack the system.
One half scout type Sumeragi's were using the emerald powers to fire off pressurized water sprays. While the other half using normal blaster weaponry. With the resistance fighting back to variable success. Eventually using their combined might to stop them. With Monika using her gravity powers to stop the robots before Sonic, Knuckles, and Amy smashing them. Only for the scouts to dissolve and come back. With Sticks working to break a power cable and using it on them. Actually killing a fair group of them. Killing them via electrocution that causes them to vaporize into steam. But after killing the scouts even more Sumeragi's of normal and assault types teleport into the arena surrounding them and begin firing. "Tails! Are you done yet?!" "Everything's ready Sonic! Get inside!" Everyone retreats to inside the Hakubi with the robots in hot pursuit. Sonic and company get inside. Barely avoiding the gunfire as Tails seals the hatch causing the pursuers to smash into the ship and each other. With one of the robots screaming for someone to open the door. Only with another yelling that the system had been hacked. With the first one going into a screaming tantrum.
Inside the Hakubi, Team Sonic finds itself trapped in the ship as a furious army bangs on the door. Tails complains. "Well, looks like we're trapped here with them." Monika bemoans. "Now we need to find Kickback and the generator." Tails continues to scan the data noting. "It seems that both are inside. But Kickback is maintain a barrier for the barrier so we'll have to go thru him." Sonic bemoans the situation and asks where the boss is located to which Tails took the lead. As they were being observed by cameras all over the place. And as the group continues on they are assaulted by numerous traps like conveyor belts, laser grids, turrets and crushing pistons which the group is forced to navigate through the seemingly endless passageways.
"This goes on forever!" Sticks complains as they enter a deck only to find a copy of Scrap brain zone much to the badgers bewilderment. "Now I know that the government is dosing the water with LSD." As she rubs her eyes in confusion. Monika explains about the pocket dimensions that can be contained within these types of ships. To which Sticks angrily declares that its witchcraft as she stabbed the air in vain. Sonic merely looks around then notices and looks at the cameras and comments. "So it's another obstacle course huh? You people are aware that i've only gotten more awesome since the first time I kicked Robuttnik's butt. Seriously why don't come down here, so I can stomp you like a badnik?!" Kickback who was watching the display tries to hold his anger while giving a response. "Mere bravado hedgehog! If you want to face me then survive!" The angered general grasped his emerald and inserted into his body directly. Causing his body to surge and crackle with power. Falling into his knees due to the gems power causing great pain and suffering as water leaks from his body.
Team Sonic at that time runs and jumps across the mechanical factory dodging around traps and taking down repurposed badniks with ease. With even Monika and Touka joining in for the fun as they reach the center of the facility eventually meeting up in the roof of a large central cylindrical container that rose up along a series of cooling towers that spread across the facility maintaining the factory inside. "So this is the way out?" Sonic asks as he points down to a glass panel that served as a cover for the roof. Monika points out. "Yes, the starpost is located..." The AI was silenced as everyone else fell down as the dome exploded releasing massive torrents and geysers of water that flood the facility. Sonic bemoans. "This just ins't my day." With Knuckles chuckling in response. Amy then notices and shows. "Look at that!" As the geyser soared to the sky transforming into the shape of Kickback with the aqua emerald lodged in his forehead. Screaming in pain and agony as it echoed thru the pocket dimension. The watery giant then started spewing torrents of water that devastated whatever wasn't flooded yet. "What now?!" Knuckles asks to which Monika simply stepped forward and said. "My turn." As she flew towards the rampaging Kickback with ax in hand prepared for battle. The others are concerned with most of the group doubting that she can do anything and asking if Sonic can do something. Only for Touka to calm them down. "Kickback is going to lose. After all that girl was trained to kill the Demon king Kagemusha. It doesn't matter how much the generals power up. Those two are on a whole another level." Amy then asks. "What about Sonic Arc?" Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles react in embarrassment with Knuckles flat out saying that they forgot they could do that. As the trio merge into Tails Arc and fly up to join in the battle. Touka then offhandedly mentions. "Did Monika forget that she can turn into a zord as well." Amy counters with. "Blame the author." While Sticks is still trying to stab something with her spear to no avail.
Meanwhile Monika and Tails Arc head towards the rampaging Kickback with Monika facing him dead on using gravity attacks while Tails maneuvered to the back firing all of his funnels and opening fire in order to boil the giant. Kickback countered by firing water tendrils that slice thru and destroy all nine funnels then fires off a spread of bubbles that explode like mines on both of them sending them both flying. As the two recover they try attacking from afar. Monika utilizes her gravity well technique while Tails Arc unlocks his funnel shield revealing a series of mirrored surfaces which fire off his lightning storm. An AOE attack that fires lighting at opponents electrocutes Kickback and almost fries everyone else. With Touka forced to carry Amy and Sticks to safety in the sky while complaining all the way. "Would it kill you to learn to use ki?!" An indignant Amy replies with. "Well excuse me princess! It wasn't too where the biggest threat to Mobius was Eggman!" "It's been over ten years Amy! It wouldn't kill you to get good." In between the argument there is Sticks who quietly muses. "I wonder if we'll remember any of this once this is all over? Meh, the previous three Genesis waves didn't cause much damage so what's the worse that could happen?"
Back at the fight Monika takes advantage of the situation to perform a final move. Transforming into a giant version of her ax the Risucutter and launching herself onto Kickback screaming. "Risu crusher!" Going for an overhead cleaving strike until Kickback suddenly says. "Chaos control." Disappearing and causing Monika to strike the water causing a massive explosion that blinded everyone to the fact that Kickback used his water to capture his former superior before reconstituting himself once more. "Heh, heh, I know our master told us to keep you alive. But I'm sure that I can get away with claiming it was an accident."He then tries to drown her commenting. "Your kind may not age or get sick. But you can be killed." Tails Arc rockets towards the giant water machine who fires off water tentacles that smashes around the arena. Only for Tails Arc to separate into three lights with Sonic and Knuckles smashing into Kickback while Tails rescues Monika as the three reform into Knuckles Arc who punches Kickback with his Ice knuckles to freeze all the water produced by the beast and withdraw with the rescued AI in tow. Soon after the ice breaks in several areas with the water tentacles that come out grabbing several ice shards which he used to strike back using the pieces as hammers and blades. Beating and cutting Knuckles as he protected Monika from said attacks.
Amy witnesses what is going on as she struggles and screams to be let go. "Are you crazy?!" Amy then uses Touka's arm as a swing until the latter is forced to let go. With the former leaping towards the side of Kickback and using her hammer as a helicopter to close the distance and then hang on to the ice as she lifts herself up and heads to the head where the chaos emerald is located. Kickback retaliates by firing off more ice and tentacles which Amy easily dodged and shot back. With Monika using her powers to slow Kickback as Knuckles strikes him with a burning knuckle and then an electric knuckle. Interchanging attacks as Amy reached the top and crushed the ice that hid the emerald. Taking it for herself as the general loses control of the water and vomits it out until returning to normal. Being surrounded by his enemies as he vomits the last of the water. "Surrender Kickback. All we want is that you drop the barrier." The motorcycle general simply laughs off the threat. "I don't get it. You should be happy to sacrifice yourselves for father. After all he will recreate the universe and create a peaceful, king, world. A world without incubators, deities, and magical girls. A world where Reibai was never destroyed to begin with." Monika simply states. "Because that is how incubators do things. I refuse to sacrifice others for some insane scheme." Kickback then creates an explosion as he grows huge once more and the entire field changes into a giant version of Stardust speedway. Once again matching the Arc in size and swiftly outpacing Knuckles who is still injured. Strafing around him and shooting at the wounds and cracks in the armor. With the others forced to flee for their safety as the battle began. Transforming his arm cannons into blades, Kickback pounces on Knuckles back doing damage and then shooting him point blank causing the latter to fall down. And then igniting his arm causing him flames to come out and then strikes Knuckles back with his flames. The trio switches to Sonic Arc who faces towards Kickback and kicks him away into a series of buildings crashing and wrecking them. Quickly standing up Kickback begins to run again only to be matched beat by beat by Sonic. As shock waves and explosions explode across the field at speeds faster than what the eye can see.
The rest of the Resistance can only stand by and watch with everyone especially Amy whose silent prayers start to affect her right wrist as a driver appears on it and creates a pillar of light that rises toward the heavens. With Kickback realizing what is happening and darting straight for the pinkette only to be stopped by Sonic as the two giants are locked in a power clash all the while Amy falls under a seeming trance as the light swallows her up. With Sticks trying to get inside only for a barrier to stop her. Leaving the badger to futilely bang the barrier as a giant mecha sized double edged sword with Amy's face in its hilt comes out and flies away towards the fight. All the while Monika and Touka are left stunned with the latter asking. "What the hell just happened?!" And the latter commenting. "An Evolution?! But, how? I've never seen anyone turn into a sword."
Amy then flies out and strikes Kickback separating him from Sonic. "Don't you dare touch my Sonic!" All three members of Sonic Arc and Kickback all said at the same time. "Did that sword just talk?" Only for Amy to smack around Sonic Arc with the flat end of her blade. "You jerk! It's me, Amy! Now grab hold of me and thrust my blade into that losers insides. Amy inserts herself into Sonic's hands and then says. "No homo. Also in this form I'm the Rose Caliburn." As Kickback gets up once again.

The two once again clash and once again Kickback tries to use his mobility to gun down Sonic only for the latter to deflect and parry the shots. Finally tagging the general and nearly killing their companions by accident. "How? How are you so damn good with a sword?!" "Oh, you didn't know Kickback? Apparently i'm King Arthur or something." Kickback just stares silently in confusion as a powerful gust of air coalesces in Rose Caliburn's blade causing it to disappear from sight before going to town of the general. "Invisible Air!" And then firing off a pair of razor wind that launch Kickback into the distance with the general twisting his body to right himself and brandishing his beam blades to perform a charge. Sonic continues firing wind blasts but the motorcycle robot proved too agile and quick as he closed the distance and struck true. Only for Sonic Arc to liquefy avoiding damage. "Oh no!" Kickback comments as Sonic Arc reveals their three emeralds. With the aqua one causing the ice to crack and shatter into projectiles which the purple gem launches. Of course Kickback tried to avoid but was caught in the time slow of the yellow emerald. With caused the ice to pummel him causing the general's armor to crack and fall apart and the uni wheel that granted him his mobility collapsed on itself. Leading to structural collapse for the scout type as he plummets into the ground. The Sumeragi general could only look in horror as Sonic raised his sword and lights began to gather around her. For the first time in his life Kickback felt fear as he tried to crawl away but failed. And then... "Ex... CALIBUR!" Sonic swings down the sword firing off a massive beam that consumes Kickback who is sent flying which such force that it shatters the dimension itself and sends him flying thru several decks, out of the Hakubi itself, and into the sky where he explodes in spectacular fashion. With the beam then being pointed towards the rest of the Hakubi. Destroying it s front upper half which causes a chain reaction that blows up large parts of the ship leaving it in complete ruins.
Touka and Monika are shocked at the feat with the latter noting. That attack broke thru a pocket dimension." "How is that possible?!" Touka asked. "Breaking a pocket dimension is essentially breaking an entire universe. In one shot! The only ones who can do that are the Gods of destruction!" All the while Sticks mentions that what Sonic did really wasn't that shocking as the four heroes return to their original forms. "The barrier is right past the next corridor." Tails points out as everyone except Monika heads forward whom is still processing what happened. "So that is Sonic the hedgehog. The only one Kagemusha considers worthy to face him."
Monika remembers a conversation that she had with Kagemusha inside the Hakubi's bridge years ago as they were informed that Sonic had defeated Eggman for the first time. Monika herself was impressed at such the feat of single handedly routing an enemy army in under a week. But Kagemusha simply laughed, as if he knew it was inevitable. "I expected nothing less from the avatar of chaos himself. He truly is the only one worthy of opposing Pandora." Something that the AI girl notices as the data of the event is shown in the screens. "Say, sempai. What are you looking for?" "To save the universe obviously." "That's what the Reibai want Tsurugi. What about you?" Kagemusha simply turns his back on her companion noting. "Good question. If I were to say. To finally be able to die." Such a response left Monika stunned only for her superior officer to continue. "No, a better way to say it. Is to have never been born to begin with. That is the reason why I pledged my loyalty to the Reibai. As we both seek to undo humanities folly and purify Mobius. And much like the incubators. If one species has to suffer for the sake of the cosmos. So be it. After all I have been granted this power because my cause is just. The balance must be restored. And evil must be slain." Monika notices that there was no deception or insincerity in those remarks. Tsurugi Kagemusha legitimately believes that humanity must be destroyed. Even herself, no, especially herself.
Snapping out of her flashback. Monika notices that the Hakubi has begun to fall apart. As she looks at the midday skies shining from the obliterated hull below. She says farewell to what had essentially been her home for decades now. Following the corridor where she sees Tails disable the second barrier. He then searches for a way too leave the island only to find that the computers have shut down. The final death knell of a ship that had been a symbol of sciences supremacy over superstition for ten thousand years. "This is what sempai wanted. The end of an era." After the battle ended the group leaves the ruined Hakubi and head back down on to the city. Utilizing another Ballena class found in the underground levels after locating another database to leave Nocturne.
The Plunderdome, Spiral cities
"General Kickback has been eliminated sir! Three of the seven emeralds are under the rebels possession." "Of course they are! Considering my compatriots mental deficiencies I would be amazed if they didn't fuck up." Firewall commented to his operators as he asked when and where will the enemy be coming and is shown the probable coordiantes. "Deploy the fleet on those areas! We will sink them long before they get here!" The operators inside the command room work to relay the orders. Basic and efficient it shows why General Firewall is considered the leader of the trio. A position earned by actually getting things done. He confidently looks on as he heads to his seat where a table next to it holding a chess board is found. "Now let the games begin."
Castle calamity, throne room
Kagemusha and Lepard were watching the whole situation from the many holoscreens that watch over the entire island. "So, Thrust is dead too?" Lepard comments as an angry Air Raid who was been recently rebuilt and revived angrily and bitterly complains. "Well I would have gotten away with killing Sonic, if it wasn't of those meddling Brits!" Kagemusha scratches his chin noting. "Indeed, It seems that Sonic may obtain the power of Chaos omen!" "Chaos omen!" The masked woman's subordinates scream. "Omen! The same thing you and Lady Kagami achieved?" "Indeed Air Raid, and if he awakens that power he could undo everything we worked to achieve. But, no matter I have ways to counter that hedgehog." Kagemusha remarks as she looks at a pair of screens showing Anti and Alex Kidd while chuckling.

Angel island was reset to a point in time before Juggernaut destroyed the island. And after killing the Echidnas, again. Set up the barrier generator atop the island. As for Nocturne, the capital of the Nocturnus clan it was merged with Angel island as the effects of the Pandora driver have also affected both the Void and the Phantom cage. Merging them into the island.
The Rose Caliburn was originally meant to be alongside the Cream staff and Gadget guns a series of upgrades for Sonic Arc but were cut later on. And it's abilities are mostly based off Saber's own Excalibur in the Fate series. It's also an homage to Fate/Genesis. Where Sonic commented about the time he became King Arthur.
