April 16th

Secre bleu; Notre Dame is on fire! That is what we all thought when we saw on TV the iconic Parisian cathedral go up in flames yesterday on TV. Well, we didn't think 'Secre Bleu', because we're German/Americans, but you get the idea. We were all shocked.

No one knows how the fire got started, but recent and ongoing renovations is suspected. Some 800/900 year-old stuff got destroyed, like the spire. We saw it go down on the news. Fortunately, some stuff were saved, so Paris didn't suffer a total loss. It was an accident, but it's still terrible on what happened.

The French president vowed to rebuild it for the French people. I agree. But, it can never be the same. Donations are being donated to help out.

The family has visited the cathedral before, and so have I. Not with them, but with my wife when I was human. It was our honeymoon, und I wanted to go back someday with my daughter. It's sad that the future generations will not see the stuff there before the fire.

But its good the movies like Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and other films, pictures, books, and other stuff the famous church is featured in, so we can go back to it in its glory. Man, that's a good film, Disney's Hunchback that is. It may be dark. Disney took risks with it, and Disney probably won't do anything like it again. But that's what made it really good. It's an underrated gem. If you haven't seen it for some reason, you should. It's part of the 90's Renaissance (look up if don't know) so you know it's good.

Unfortunately, April 15th has many other horrible stuff that's happened on it in the past. Abe Lincoln died after being shot on the 14th. The Titanic also sank on the 14th, but a majority of it was on the 15th, so it counts. The Boston Bombings also happened on this day six years ago. This is now added to the list. Other bad stuff happened on this date, and will happen in the future.

Fortunately, no deaths happened. A firefighter got badly injured, and the fire is out now. But poor Paris! You had the attacks of November 2015, as well as the Charlie Hebdo shootings, and now stuff people in the 1100s took a long time building is now destroyed forever. We, and every other nation pray with you in your dark time as you your beautiful cathedral. Thankfully, it wasn't anything worse.
