Woody and the gang are back in yet another installment of the Toy Story franchise along with some new friends, Toy Story 4. Will it be the last? Pixar wants it to be, but, only time will tell. At least it'll be the last Pixar sequel for now. Now we can see some more originals from them, since Coco in 2017 was their last. Now if only Disney can stop their ongoing live-action remakes obsession.
So, Woody and the toys are with their new owner, Bonnie. Bonnie starts Kindergarten, and literally makes a new friend, tries to prevent Forky from going into the trash. They all go to a carnival, and Forky and Woody gets separated. Along the way, Woody meets up with his longtime girlfriend, Bo Peep, who has a new look. Oh, and the movie tells us why she was absent in the 3rd 's all I'm going to say for the plot.
So along with Forky as a newbie, there's Gabby Gabby, and her dummy minions, Duke Kaboom, Ducky and Bunny, and more. Unlike Andy's father, we actually see Bonnie's father as well. I heard that the reason why Andy doesn't have a dad because Pixar didn't want to animate him, or couldn't afford to. He wasn't really needed anyways.
They still had the same voice of Mr. Potato Head in here even after his late voice actor, Don Rickles, died over two years ago. Poor Don was signed up to do him, but died before he recorded any lines for him. His family still wanted him to still be a part of it, so convinced Pixar to make it happen. They worked their magic by using unused dialogue. That's sweet! I never heard of something like that happening before, but it was sill bittersweet that they were able to. I bet Don is smiling in his grave, and is proud that they did that for him.
Even though Toy Story 3 ended perfectly, this was still a great and worthy addition. Just inane this being a great big epilogue. And just like the incinerator scene, has a sad scene near the end.
Once again, and maybe for the last time, but like I said before, only time will tell. See this movie, and go to infinity and beyond!
