Hermione found that she didn't want to tell Viktor just how dangerous the things that the teachers had set up to guard the stone were. She did her best to downplay the severity of the situation. But with something as important as the philosopher's stone, there was only so much a person could do.

She finally sent her letter off. She couldn't help but brag about Snape's logic puzzle. And she couldn't make it any better.

She sighed softly as she packed her things into her trunk. She was definitely going to have to endure Viktor attempting to convince her and her parents that she should go to Durmstrang. As if that was even an option.

"You excited for the summer?" Lavender asked as she also crammed stuff into her own trunk.

"A bit. I'm excited to see my grandparents. I don't get to see them nearly often enough."

"They don't live close?"

"No," Hermione said. "They live in Greece. We really only get to see them during longer breaks. It isn't worth it for just a day or two."

Greece wasn't far enough away that it caused massive jet lag. Not like the time that Hermione and her family had visited Australia. That had been miserable for the first week. But traveling to the continent wasn't fun.

"I totally understand," Lavender said. "Portkeys are the worst. You're sick for at least a day for distances that long."

Hermione made a mental note to ask Viktor about portkeys. She wasn't always the best at understanding the wizarding world. But she seemed to be fairing alright. And it helped that she had a good friend who was more than happy to answer her questions.

She finished packing her things moving carefully. She didn't know how to explain her feelings. She was… anxious.

There were things that she was excited about. Seeing her parents. Seeing Viktor. Going to Greece. It was one of her favourite places.

But there were also things that she was nervous about. Explaining what had happened was the biggest one. But she also worried about what her grandmothers might say.

Both of her grandmothers had very strong opinions on what responsibilities educators had. They might decide to find a different place for her to study. And Hermione wasn't thrilled at that idea.

She wanted to come back to Hogwarts the next fall. She wanted to have the education she had come to expect. Though she did have to acknowledge that some of the teachers weren't the best. And Snape shouldn't really be a professor, as smart as he was.

She headed down to the train, her head still full of things. She wasn't even aware of how quickly the journey passed. She couldn't focus on much.

They finally arrived in London and everyone disembarked. Hermione wandered over to her parents.

"How was the ride, love?" her mum asked

"Good," Hermione said. "Are we headed to the airport?"

"In about an hour," her dad answered. "We've got a later flight out. Unless you want to sit in the airport for forever."

A/N: Hi guys. I hope you enjoy this chapter. There's going to be a bit of an explosion. I'm trying to figure out how to get Hermione out of Hogwarts instead of petrifying her. But okay
