Surprisingly for being a Minions movie, Minions: The Rise of Gru is a pretty decent movie. It is a masterpiece? No, but it's still pretty good.
Gru is 11 in this movie, so it takes place in the past, in the 70s to be exact. So the movie has 70s songs sprinkled throughout.
The story is that Gru wants to be part of the Villainous 6. The Villainous 6 says that kids can't be a villain, and only adults can. They tell him he have to impress them and prove himself, so he does. He steals from them and they all chase after him.
He teams up with his idol, an old former Villainous 6 member and go do some evil acts. Stuart, Bob, Kevin go to San Francisco while Otto, the Minion that traded the stone for a pet rock, goes on his own to get the stone back.
This movie apparently is part of a trend where teenagers dress up in suits while they see the movie, and employees don't like it. They go so far as yell at them in front of an audience during the movie and ban them from the movie. Imagine if you were a kid wanting to see this, and then having to witness a Karen yelling and scolding teenagers just wanting to see a kids' film. I get it if the teenagers are rowdy, being immature and throwing bananas. But if they're just wearing suits and not doing any harm, just let the kids see the movie, Karen.
Thor: Love and Thunder isn't the best Thor movie, probably the weakest, but it's still okay, not the worst and not an absolute mess.
Thor has to save some Asgard children when they are taken far from home. Meanwhile, Jane Foster has stage 4 cancer. The Guardians of the Galaxy are also in this, but briefly in the beginning. After Thor leaves them, they are not seen again for the rest of the movie, even the scene during the credits and after. Sorry if that was a very minor spoiler for you. But this is a Marvel movie, so yeah, not really sorry. You should know by now. Oh, and this movie might contain scenes that might be too intense for people prone to seizures.
So, give both movies a chance. They may not be masterpieces, but, again, they are both pretty decent.
