September 13th

Even though Queen Elizabeth II was human, because she ruled England for 70 long years, she seemed to be immoral. The day that many Brits and the whole world knew was coming, came. Queen Elizabeth III, UK's longest Monarch died on September 8th at the age of 96.

The Queen took over the role of ruler of the U.K. after her father passed away when she was only 25. Seven decades went by and even though she was getting up there in age, because of the country's tradition, ruled to the very end. She saw 15 Prime Ministers (She managed to see number 15 two days before her death) and met with 13 out of the 14 American Presidents (She did not meet Lyndon Johnson).

America and the United Kingdom had and to this day, still holds a special bond with each other. So, like our friends across the pond, we are mourning too in your somber time just like you all are. And I too, a German, is mourning too over the loss, with all of the other Germans and the whole world. I just learned about this, but two days after 9/11 happened, the Queen ordered her guards to do an instrumental piece of the American National Anthem, breaking a 600- year- old tradition (21 years ago today in fact, in America anyways). That just shows what America meant to her and how caring that this lady truly was.

Steve didn't believe the news when it broke out. He said that she was 'immortal.' Stan had to remind his son that she was human like all of us and knew that this day was coming. I bet that Steve did too. Come on, we all secretly thought that because of her long reign. Even the country knew because they had plans way, way, wayyyyy back in advance. They just didn't know when and that it would happen days after the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana's tragic death.

Hayley is sad that the U.K. will probably never have a female ruler for the rest of all of our lifetimes. I mean, the next female waiting in line is none other than 7-year-old Princess Charlotte, and she is after her father and eldest brother, 9-year-old Prince George. I suspect that King Charles the III will have a 10 to 20 years long reign, perhaps even longer if he's really lucky, maybe longer, assuming the fact that the royals are living long lives. If he's not as lucky, maybe shorter.

I never met the Queen, (shocker) nor am I British, (another shocker), but learning about her and all of the deeds she has done for the country, she seemed to be a very lovely lady. Great Britain was lucky to have her in charge for as long as they did. Now, it's 'God Save the King' and will most likely be for who knows how long, but Queen Elizabeth II will always hold a special place in the UK's hearts as well as the whole world. My condolences go out to all of my UK readers, R.I.P. to your Highness, for there will be no one like her ever again.
