The next day, Peter was back at school like he normally would. One of the arms had a small malfunction that should have been an easy fix for Peter. But his whole mind has been so out of focus lately that it became a headache.

Grabbing a screwdriver, he tried to fix it by removing the screws out of the shoulder. But this was followed by him growing angry at how hard it was getting the screwdriver into the screw. Becoming angry at the screw, Peter slammed the screwdriver into the table. Getting angrier, he just ripped it out of the table and slammed it into the table over and over.

As he did so, the others around the room watched as he had a mental breakdown in the middle of the room. Teresa looked and knew that Peter was bottling his emotions, this is something he's been doing for years since they were kids. Honey looked in sadness as she also knew why he was acting out.

They all knew the reason.

GoGo walked over to him, placed her helmet down, and leaned on the table. "What did that screw ever do to you?"

"Not funny," Peter told her, not wanting to talk with her right now.

"You've made worse jokes." GoGo reminded him. She then leaned over to whisper to him, so the others don't hear. "What happened last night?"

"I took down a bunch of bank robbers," Peter recapped what happened.

"You put them in the hospital," GoGo said as she placed the newspaper down, showing the five of them in the hospital. "You're grieving."

"Or maybe I'm waking up to the truth," Peter replied with a snarl, almost making GoGo jump back. "Tadashi died because I didn't take care of Electro when I had the chance. When I allowed her to get away."

"You thought you handled her." GoGo defended him.

"I don't need you to tell me what happened," Peter said, getting angrier. "I was there. If it wasn't for me, Tadashi would still be here. Otto would still be here. Lian would still be here."

"And because you were here, this whole city, not to mention the world, hasn't turned into giant Spiders," GoGo replied, pushing ahead and facing Peter. "You saved us."

The two of them were then left in a staring contest between one another. Nobody in the room even heard their conversation surprisingly, but none were even trying to listen. The two of them were only interrupted when they heard Peter's alert going off to warn him of something going on in the prison.

Peter then walked over and picked up the phone to see that a breakout was happening. "I got to take care of this."

"We're not done talking," GoGo assured him as he made his way out.

Peter stopped walking and sighed as he knew that was coming. "Figured."

Peter started to swing off towards the prison when he got a call from Yuri. He quickly landed on the side of a building to answer before jumping back off. He saw that there was some fight going on the main side of the prison as he landed on one of the spotlights.

"Spider-Man. We've got a big problem." Yuri called from a helicopter coming past. Peter quickly shot a web and landed on the side of the copper, seeing Yuri was the one flying it. "There was some sort of calculated attack on the prison. Maybe it's not as bad as it looks."

"Yuri, where have you been?" Peter asked her, his sense of humor still as they got closer to the prison. "When it looks bad, it is always going to be much worse." Then when they got close enough, they noticed that Electro was on the roof and summoning electricity from the air. "Look out!"

The lightning came flying right towards the chopper and immediately took it down. They started to crash as Yuri fell against the window, but Peter quickly ripped off the door with his legs, using the mechanical ones to push off the chopper. Once the door was off the hinges, he held his hand for Yuri to take.

"Come on!" Peter tells her.

Yuri quickly reached to try and grab him and when they had contact, Peter leaped out of the crashing chopper as fast as he could. When they went towards the ground, Peter shot out several strands with one hand holding onto Yuri. When he had enough of them, he then connected them so there was a net to catch them.

When they landed, they saw the chopper crash and the damage it caused near them. Getting them down from the web, they started to look around and wonder what their next move was.

"You okay?" Peter asked her.

"Yeah, I'm good," Yuri assured him.

Then they looked towards the doors that were blown open and saw Francine Frye wearing a green onesie with yellow lightning bolts on her hips and a bolt belt. "Welcome to the party, Spider-Man!" She then shot out several more blasts that short-circuited the locks on the cages. "Just in time for the fireworks!"

Electro then flew away and allowed the inmates to roam as she flew through the halls. "Looks like early parole, boys!"

"Why is Electro letting everyone out?" Peter asks, thinking something big is going down.

"I'll make my way inside, try and get some sense of control back," Yuri tells Peter her plan. "You go and secure as many inmates as you can."

"I'm on it," Peter said as he walked through the halls and took care of the inmates. One of them came charging toward Peter and he let out a sigh as he just punched him in the face. "What was even your plan?" He then saw a bunch of them charging to try and take him. "Guys. Stop." He said with no fear or even emotion. "We can talk this through."

When he saw that everyone was still coming at him, Peter saw that there was no talking them down and shrugged. Seeing he did all he really could (from his perspective), he decided to take them down and activated the legs before piercing their shoulders and causing them to cry out in pain.

"It was a good talk," Peter told them.

"No, it wasn't." One of the inmates whimpered out as he held his shoulder.

Peter then looked around the room and saw a few of them standing in fear. "Anyone else?"

They kept standing there before doing the only sensible thing. Racing back into their cells and close the doors behind them. Peter nodded and retracted his mechanical limbs, surprised that they did something sensible, and moved on to the next part of the prison. When he reached the armored doors, he grabbed them by the hinges and started to rip them open.

But when he managed to get them open, his senses alerted him something coming from the other side. When he was able to open the doors, he watched as the White Rabbit, in her crazy uniform, aimed an umbrella at Spider-Man.

"Hello, Spider-Man!" Lorina cried as she shot out a bomb from the umbrella. "Hope you like the surprise!"

Peter dropped the door and jumped out of the way for the bomb to blow up the door. This helped Peter out way more as he saw the entire area was the evidence room, meaning that the prisoners could have gotten access to a few weapons on their way out.

But he didn't have time to worry about that as he ran across the room and saw all of the damage White Rabbit and Electro had managed to cause in just a few minutes. Shooting his webs at the other end of doors, he managed to get past all of the rubble and once what was a stairway. He got out of the doorway and looked at all the chaos the guards were trying to control.

"Hey, what's your status?" Yuri asks him over the phone.

"Me? I'm just trapped in a prison with every criminal I've put away for the past four years." Peter commented, missing the scorpion tail dangling behind him before he was grabbed by the neck and the call cut short.

Elaine Coll brought Peter up to her face with a giant smile as she looked him over. "Well, well, look what we have here. This is too good to be true."

"Scorpia. Mind waiting a moment?" Peter asked her. "I was taking a business call."

Luckily an explosion went off nearby and it sent Peter and Elaine flying in opposite directions. The only bad part was when Peter looked back, he saw Scorpia get away and crawl upward.

Getting back up, Peter looked down the hall and saw flashes of light down the halls. Quickly running across the prison, he was trying to follow Electro by following the lighting she emits.

But when he got too close to the doors, they were blown off their hinges and Peter jumped just before they could smash him. Behind the doors, Electro was there and was laughing at the close encounter.

"Come on, Spidey! I thought you were faster than this!" Francine cried as she flew upward.

Peter followed her and saw that she managed to lead the two to the inside of one of the towers. Racing up the side of the building, he reached the roof where he shot a line to one of the radio towers and landed where Electro was.

Francine strolled over to a tower and leaned against it as Peter slowly approached. "How do you like my new suit?"

"Dashing," Peter said sarcastically as he marched over. "Who's your tailor?"

Francine shrugged at his question with her devilish grin. "It's an exclusive club."

That's when Peter was met with shock when Beetle came flying out from behind Francine and shot several bullets at him. Peter did several flips backward to avoid the attacks and shot a web out. He latched onto Beetle and spun her into Electro as Scorpia made her way to the roof. Lorina made it to the roof using her flying boots and threw a bunch of needle-sharp carrots at him (Man, she is his weirdest enemy) which caused Peter to take several steps back.

. That ended up leading him into Scorpia's tail, but he was able to grab it and use the tail to kick her in the head. He then landed in the middle of the group and looked around him.

To his right, there was Electro who was charged and ready to strike. Behind him was Scorpia getting ready to stab him. Luckily, he decided to create a canister for the antidote to her poison. To his left, White Rabbit had her club in the shape of a flamingo filled with carrot bullets. In front of him, Beetle came flying down, and just then, Olivia Octavius came out, slamming her arms into Peter's arms to pin him down.

"Now...we have some unfinished business, don't we?" Olivia asked the women around her.

"Indeed, we do." Janice agreed in anger. "I still want vengeance for what you did to my father."

"Who wants the first hit?"

"I'll answer it for you!" Peter cried and grabbed onto Olivia's arms, pulling them and sending her off balance and freeing his hands. "I'll take you all down!"

Beetle then flew and aimed her blasters at Peter as he punched her in the face. The hit ended up sending her flying into the rubble of the roof as he looked at her in anger.

"Your father got what he deserved," Peter informed Beetle, only fueling her anger. "He was a monster that didn't deserve to live."

But his taunting clouded his senses and he missed when Scorpia went in for her attack and smacked Peter across the wet roof. When he stopped himself, using his mechanical legs, he was right by Lorina as she swung her flamingo at him. He was able to stop it from hitting him and used it to smack Lorina back to get some space.

But he was starting to get overrun when Beetle got back up and flew over to grab Peter by the neck before throwing him off the roof. Shooting a web out to pull himself back, Peter kicked the beetle again and was pinned by Olivia's arms again.

Before he had a chance to free himself from her grasp, Scorpia took the opportunity to stab him (literally) in the back. Growing weak from it, Peter fell to the ground in seconds. While he was down, the entire group (calling themselves the Syndicate) took the opportunity to kick and beat the hero. As Peter tried his best to crawl away, Lorina, Janice, Olivia, and Francine grabbed his mechanical arms before Electro summoned a giant blast and sent it flying at Peter. He cried in pain with the hit of electricity surging with the poison already inside of him and the others ripped the mechanical arms off.

"You thought you could fight us?" Janice asked as she laughed under the mask. Pulling out a blade from her shoulder, ready to finish the job. "Now you get what you deserve."

But it seemed Peter had one more trick up his sleeve, yet it is the weakest option in his entire arsenal. Turning his body towards them, he reached for his belt and twisted the middle, turning on his Spider Signal.

That caused the Syndicate to be blinded for a moment and allowed Peter the shadow to escape. When the light disappeared, they were left to see that Spider-Man had escaped.

"Where is he?" Janice asked and turned to the others. "Spread out. Find him!"

Peter was already far gone as he swung his way through the city the best he could without fainting. He knew he needed to seek actual medical help and could not go home and sleep it off. He didn't need to go on another trip to see the ghosts of his past again.

When he stopped for a moment, he immediately recognized the neighborhood and knew he was just a distance away from GoGo.

The said GoGo was currently sitting in her kitchen at her table, working on her schoolwork when she heard her window opening. When she looked and saw who was climbing in and noticed Peter who was beaten and injured struggling to stand up.

"Oh my god!" GoGo cried as she ran over and helped him inside and lay down on the couch. "What happened?"

"You should see the other guy." Peter groaned as he pulled off his mask. "The other guy in this case is about four or five super-powered women."

GoGo then noticed that there was a stab in his back, leading to the green poison that was making its way into his system. Luckily, she was already aware of Peter's antidote he packed and took it from his belt before she injected it into him.

This immediately showed some improvement in Peter as he started to calm down and stop shaking. Once he stopped, she started to clean the blood with a washcloth she quickly cleaned for him.

Wincing through the injuries, Peter tried to stay still as he's never been injured like this before. He's been beaten, but nobody has really damaged his skin until lately.

"Come on, woman up," GoGo told him, seeming to still be icy towards Peter since their talk. "Wanna talk about what happened?"

"White Rabbit, Scorpia, Doc Ock, Electro, and Beetle coordinated an attack on the prison." Peter recapped what happened to him. "I-"

"I was referring to earlier." GoGo cut him off. "You walked off in the middle of our talk."

"Because I had nothing to say," Peter stated. "I got the job done."

"Your job is supposed to be the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man." GoGo reminded him of what he was supposed to be. "But you're starting to become a brutal hero. You're not Punisher."

"Why not? He gets the job done." Peter said as he pushed himself up from the couch, and GoGo just allowed him. She wanted to see something and watched as he limped off and made his way through the apartment.

Then she concluded something that she should have noticed after this whole time. "You're torturing yourself."

Peter stopped limping and looked back at his girlfriend. "What?"

"You can't let go of what happened to Tadashi because you believe you are responsible for it." GoGo couldn't believe she was only now thinking this. "You want to be tortured. You want to be hurt. These five are just the only people who have managed to do it to you."

Peter looked down at his mask and listened to her. "I should have saved him. Been the hero."

GoGo saw he was finally listening and walking over to him. "You did the best you could. But you are not a god. You can't save everyone."

"Every..." Peter didn't even know what to say as he looked at the mask. "...every time I put on this mask, someone close to me gets hurt." He then sighed as he tossed the mask. "Sometimes I wonder if everyone would be better off if one of them finished me off."

GoGo couldn't believe what she was hearing and scoffed. "Do you think that Teresa would be better off?" She then watched him flinch at the mention of his sister. "How about Peni? May? Would they be better off?"

Peter then thought back to that one night. The gunshot. The money. The car. He knew that if it weren't for him, his family would still be together. "Yes."

GoGo saw he actually believed that and went a step further. "How about mine?" That got Peter's full attention as he looked back at her. "You saved me from both Otto and the Jackal. You saved us. You saved the city. Countless lives from the criminals who were given powers. You did that, Peter." She then walked in front of him and held her hand to his face. "You seem to forget that a lot of the time. And don't have it in you to remind yourself. For every life you can't save, you save a dozen others."

Peter sighed and looked down at his mask. Thinking to all the people he managed to save, the people who even sent fanart and thank you cards because of him.

"You're right." Peter then shot out a web and grabbed his mask before slipping it back on. "And I have some unfinished business to take care of."
