Back with the newly formed Syndicate, Electro was blasting the streets trying to draw out the web-slinger. She blasted at a group of pedestrians as they franticly scattered and tried to escape.
"Spider-Man!" Francine called out to the city. "Come out and fight like a man, you-"
"Now, now! Watch the language!" Peter cried as Francine turned to face him, getting Peter the chance to web her in the face. "Children are watching!"
Peter then came down and kicked Francine, sending her slamming into the street. As Peter was keeping an eye on the downed Electro, Beetle came around and slit his webbing, sending him flying.
"Look who's back, girls!" Janice contacts the rest of the Syndicate their enemy is here.
"Aw, it sounds like you missed me, Beetle." Peter joked as a scorpion tail came down and almost impaled Peter again, but he managed to jump and web her tail to the ground. "Scorpia! Wondering where you had gotten to! I would have thought some scientist would have snatched you up by now."
Olivia's tentacles then wrapped around him, starting to squeeze him. "Someone got their annoying sense of humor back."
"Annoying?" Peter asked in shock. "My humor is hilarious, thank you very much!" He then shot out several strands of webbing, blinding Olivia and causing her to stumble backward. "So, is that two out of five? This feels a little unfair. Tell you what, I'll send you all to prison, I can find a few other members to send your way, and we can call it a day. Sound fair?"
Francine then flew and summoned more electricity. "How about we kill you now, and pry that mask off your corpse!?"
Peter then watched the stream of electricity coming at him and did several backflips until he reached the side of a wall. Running up the side of the building, he leaped at the last second and shot a web at a mailbox.
When he landed on the ground, White Rabbit came leaping down with her rocket boots and her flamingo raised in the air. She went in and was about to hit Peter in the head when he spun around and kicked her in the face. That one punch was enough to knock her down and knock into Scorpia, which took her down and damaged her armor.
"Two down, three to go," Peter muttered as he kept looking for his enemies.
Beetle shot out several missiles and bullets in his direction, and Peter did a jump to dodge the bullets. Then the missiles came at him and he quickly webbed one of them and tossed it right back at her.
"What?! No!" Beetle cried as when the missile hit her, it damaged her armor and caused her to short circuit. "Get him!"
Olivia then pulled out a razor blade from her hands and went straight toward Peter. But he saw that coming as he jumped out of the way at the last second. In that second, Electro sent a blast that almost got him. But then it was followed by Olivia going to grab him again, then Beetle hitting him with a missile that send him flying into the wall.
Once Peter fell to the ground, he groaned and held his head in pain. "Some people see stars when they get hit." He then looked up at the three remaining of the Syndicate. "I see pain."
"Now...we finish this," Janice said as she aimed one of her gauntlets at his face. "Prepare to die, Spider-Man."
Peter's instincts then kicked in at the last second as he then kicked Beetle and her blast ended up hitting Francine and sending her flying. Olivia went to try and take him down, only for Peter to shoot her in the face with webbing and followed by a punch to the face, knocking her out.
Beetle's armor was then too damaged as her systems started to fail. She watched as Spider-Man approached her and feared what he was going to do. But to her surprise, he didn't do anything as he kneeled to be at her level and placed an arm on his leg.
"I'm sorry...for what happened. And what I said." Peter tells her.
Janice was confused as she reached and removed her face mask. "What?"
"I'm sorry," Peter tells her. "I didn't mean for what happened to Tomb...Lonnie to happen. I only wanted to make this city safer, and he was selling drugs that were too dangerous for people. I just wanted to keep the city safe. But I never would have wished what happened to him to happen. I know what it's like to lose someone."
"You...you do?" Janice asked, listening to what he was saying.
"I lost a lot of people in my life," Peter admitted with sorrow. "And my friend was the latest victim. I lost him. It was my fault. I guess I was taking that anger out on you."
Janice understood what he was saying and remembered how she felt when her father was killed. "Yeah, I guess I was doing the same with you."
"How about we give each other a clean slate and put what happened behind us?" Peter asked as he held his hand for Janice to take.
"Clean slate?" Janice asked as she took his hand and was pulled to her feet.
"The Beetle disappears tonight. You can go and have a normal life without that suit." Peter bargained with her as she looked at the face mask. "Your father wanted that for you."
Janice nodded, a few tears falling down her face as she tossed the face mask down the street. "It's over."
Peter nodded and started to walk off when he heard the sirens approaching. "I'd get out of here."
"Yeah." Janice agreed with him. "I'll ditch the armor the first chance I get."
Peter and Janice then both went their separate ways and left the rest of the Syndicate to get arrested. To the rest of the world, Beetle would have just vanished while the other criminals that escaped the prison were put back behind bars.
GoGo was sitting in her apartment and watching the news about the Syndicate's defeat and saw that Peter didn't use brute force and used their powers against one another. She was happy to see he was also fighting to survive, and it seems he managed to talk Beetle down as he left.
Then there was another knock on her window, and she saw it was Peter with takeout. Gesturing for him to come inside, he opened the window and crawled his way in before closing it and falling to the floor. Once there, he took off his mask and showed he had a smile on his face. He placed the takeout bag on the table and walked over to GoGo.
"Saw the fight on the news," GoGo said as she got up and kissed him, which he gladly returned. "See how much you accomplish with your stupid jokes instead of going Punisher on everyone?"
"Yeah, yeah, I know." Peter rolled his eyes, knowing she was gonna hold this over him forever. "Beetle shouldn't be a problem anymore. The others are gonna be locked up for even longer for this attack on the city. And I even got a rematch with White Rabbit. Not a bad day. But it has been a weird day."
"You could say that again." GoGo agreed and looked at the food he brought home. "Plan on swinging on a full stomach?
"Well..." Peter looked at her with a smile. "I was thinking that maybe I could stay the night."
GoGo then grew a smile and saw what he was thinking. "Aren't you tired after that fight?"
"Oh, if anything, I'm pumped up after that," Peter said with a snarky attitude.
Meanwhile, Olivia Octavius was back in prison when she was visited by another guest. She and the other members of the Syndicate were moved to more permanent cells that were giant cubes with yellow walls that were built with reinforced glass. She is a tall woman with a trim build and hazel eyes. She has long hair with a blonde gradient that fades to light. She is often seen wearing a red dress with a black belt.
"Who are you?" Olivia asks her.
"My name is Liv Amara." She introduces herself to the villain. "And I have to say, I saw you on the news and I loved your work."
"Thanks?" Olivia didn't know how to exactly respond. "I'm kind of stuck in bars here, so what are you here for?"
"Oh, I am offering you a chance to get out of here." Liv offered the villain. "To use the intelligence for more than just pity revenge."
"Like what?" Olivia asks.
Liv then pulled her tablet out and showed footage of the fight, one part where Spider-Man was bleeding after the beatdown on the roof. "I was wondering if your suit caught any of Spider-Man's blood?"
"All of our suits did." Olivia scoffed. "Why?"
"How would you feel about a special project I am working on?" Liv asked her as she put away the tablet.
Olivia started to put a few of the pieces together herself and smiled. "Say I'm interested...what next?"
The next morning, Peter was awake as early as someone could be and just looked down at GoGo as she slept. She looked peaceful so he didn't want to do anything to risk waking her but knew there was someone he needed to see. Once he got up and put his clothes on, he left and made as little noise as possible.
Taking a quick swing through the city, Peter ended up right outside of the Lucky Cat for several purposes. He hasn't visited this place since Tadashi's death and hasn't seen the likes of Hiro or Cass since then.
Making his way inside, he noticed some elderly lady wearing something that should never be seen in public. Shuttering at that, Peter just made his way over to the counter and waited for Cass to show up. Just a few moments later, he watched as Cass came down the stairs with what looked to be food (if he had to guess, Hiro hadn't eaten much since the incident) and was shocked to see him.
"Peter?" Cass asked in surprise as she put the food behind the counter.
"Hey, Cass." Peter greeted her as she walked over and gave him a quick hug.
"Oh, it's been a while," Cass said as she broke off the hug and had a smile on her face for a while. "How have you been?"
"Good," Peter admitted with a sad smile. "Well, more okay, I guess." He then looked to the stairs with a sorry look. "How's Hiro doing?"
Cass then shared his saddened look and sighed. "He's grieving."
"Yeah, we all are still in our own way." Peter guessed and looked back to Cass. "But I'm also here as a customer, here to get breakfast and coffee for me and GoGo."
Back at the Parker homestead, when Teresa saw that Peter didn't come home after either of the fights between Syndicate, she started to get a bit worried for her twin. But when she watched where he was heading, she noticed that GoGo lived in that general area and wondered if he went to her.
GoGo was resting peacefully when her phone suddenly went off and got her up in annoyance. She reached out and smacked her phone off her desk in the process, only opening it and activating the call.
"GoGo?" Teresa called out to the phone. "You awake?"
"I am now." GoGo groaned out, not even willing to crawl or get out of bed to talk. "What do you want?"
"I saw Peter on the news last night," Teresa explains as GoGo reached around her bed to grab some of her clothes. "Did he visit you last night?"
GoGo saw she was worried for her brother and eased her worry as she got dressed. "Yeah, he visited me last night. He's fine." Then she looked around and wondered where he had gotten to. "But I don't know where he is now."
"Wait." Teresa couldn't help but smile at what she was being told. "Peter spent the night?"
GoGo then raced to pick up her phone to shut her up fast. "I'm hanging up now."
"Hey, I ain't judging." Teresa tried to get the last word just as GoGo hung up the phone.
As she hung up, the front door opened, and Peter walked in with some takeout breakfast from the Lucky Cat. "Hey, GoGo, you up?"
"Yeah, I'm up," GoGo confirmed as she walked over down the stairs and towards Peter. "You got breakfast?"
"Figured we could use it," Peter said as he and GoGo took a seat and started to eat. "Thanks."
"For what? You got us food." GoGo said as she took a bite out of a bagel.
"I mean for helping me out last night," Peter explains. "I never really thanked you."
"Oh, you thanked me alright," GoGo assured him.
Peter was getting ready to respond when his phone suddenly went off, followed by GoGo's cell going off at the same time. When they both looked at it, they were extremely confused when they saw that it was from Baymax.
"Baymax?" Peter and GoGo asked in confusion.
Opening the message, they weren't sure what to think.
BAYMAX: Hello, Hiro's friends. I am contacting you to let you know that Hiro Hamada would like your assistance.
"You got the same message, right?" GoGo asks, showing the phone to him.
"Yep," Peter confirmed, showing his phone to her. "I wonder..." He quickly typed in a call and got a quick answer.
"You got the message from Baymax, didn't you?" Teresa asks him.
"Yep. Anyone else?" Peter wonders.
"Me," Peni called over Teresa's shoulder. "How does a robot nurse know how to do that?"
"I'm thinking that someone else might've gotten the message," Peter said as he looked at GoGo. "A few someone's."
Peter and GoGo made their way towards the Lucky Cat around nightfall to see who else got the Baymax message. By the time he and GoGo got there, they were met with Peni and Teresa who were the first to arrive.
"Hey." Teresa greeted him and looked at GoGo. "Hi."
"Not a word," GoGo warned her friend.
"Fine. But only because my sister is here." Teresa says as she looked down at Peni.
Peter quickly walked into an alley to change his appearance into his casual clothes as he came back out in them. "So, were we the only ones?"
Then there's a car coming over and pulling up and they saw it was literally the rest of the gang in Wasabi's car.
"Hey!" Honey Lemon greeted them. "Did you guys get the message, too?"
"Yeah." The four of them replied.
"Same here," Wasabi confirmed when they looked and noticed something coming out of the alley from the Lucky Cat. "What was that?"
"Looked like an armored marshmallow chasing a boy."
Teresa and Peter looked at one another and had the same idea. "Follow it."
