Before Disney shut down Blue Sky, it was working on Nimona. And then it got shelved…until Netflix saved it! And thank goodness too, because Nimona is now Blue Sky's best film. It is its magnum opus if you will. Disney, I love you, but you have a tendency to mess things up big time!
So, the movie is based on a series of graphic novels. The movie is about a man named Ballister Boldheart who is accused of killing the Queen. He teams up with Nimona and the two try to clear his name. Oh yeah, and Nimona is a shape-shifter!
Ballister is gay and has a relationship with another man, Ambrosus Goldenloin, hence why Disney axed it I guess. Apparently they asked Blue Sky to take a particular scene out and Blue Sky refused. Good for them! Seriously, some people need to mind their open business and respect other people who are part of the community! Love is love, no matter the gender. As soon as the world sees that, the better!
If you have Netflix, you should definitely see this film, If not, pirate it. But if your computer gets a virus and breaks down because of it, that's on you. If you're a kid, don't say I gave you the piracy advise to your parents. They wouldn't believe you anyway if you say 'a talking German fish said it was alright.' Plus, you're reading this so I'm not saying anything to you, so ha!
So, if you thought this film would have never seen the light of day, you're wrong, it did! And what are you still doing reading this still, see the film right now if you haven't already! I'll shut up now so you can. I promise you, you'll like this film. If not, I don't know what to tell you. That's on you, not me.
