Illumination's Migration was like Pixar's Elementals. Both films didn't do well when they first came out, but as time went on, made back big bucks. You might argue Migration might have done better right away if not released during the Christmas holiday, but if that were true, it would be true for every past movie that got released during the holidays. But people who celebrate Christmas early, will celebrate it later on or don't celebrate it at all, need a good movie to watch. It's how movie theaters do business and make money.
As the title suggests, it's a migration movie. A family of mallards go on a trip to Jamaica for their migration spot. There's the dad: Mack, the mom: Pam, and their two ducklings: Gwen and Dax, and Uncle Dan.
This movie, while not a masterpiece, is still a good movie and deserves to be seen and it definitely didn't deserve the fate that it got when it first came out. So, give this movie a chance. Don't judge a film on how it did on opening weekend. This and Elemental proves that even a poor performance film in the box office at first might have a huge comeback in the weeks to come.
