"So how does one take a shower?" Rath asked me and I turned my head, my fingers brushing the bandages covering my chest.

"Rath, you need to be standing under the water." I pointed out and he frowned, stepping close but when he hesitated I grinned. Rath's eyes widened as I grabbed one of his outstretched hands and when I pulled him under the shower-head he yelped as the hot water hit him directly in his face.

"That was not funny, Jade." Rath huffed and I shrugged, grinning as he shook his head at me splashing us both.

"From my point of view, it was, Rath. It's not that bad is it?" I asked him, watching as he took off his hat and after he squeezed the water from it I giggled. Rolling his eyes at me Rath walked back to the sink and after he deposited his hat there he returned to the shower with a faint smile on his lips. At first, I thought he was mad at me though after his arms encircled my waist I relaxed even sighing when he pressed a kiss of the back of my neck.

"I could get used to showers if I get to enjoy them with you, Jade. I never did get to thank you for saving me from Scarab." Rath said as I shifted in his arms until I was facing the guardian. Resting my head on his chest I stayed quiet for long enough to hear Rath clearing his throat and when I lifted my head I found him staring down at me. "Is something the matter, Jade?"

"You saved me as well, Rath. I couldn't change back from my armour but you knew what to do." I replied and he smiled, kissing my forehead as I snuggled into his chest. After a few minutes, I finally raised my head catching a faint smile on my lips. "I don't know about you but my bandages are soaked," I told him and he nodded, his hands moving to the bandages covering my upper body. But just as he started to unwrap them that we heard a light knock on the bathroom door.

"Why does that always happen to us?" Rath sighed, taking his arms from around my waist and as I wrapped my arms around me he padded over to the door. Once he opened it he found Nefer-Tina standing there with an amused smile on her lips the second she saw Rath with one eyebrow raised and me standing under the shower-head with my head tilted to one side my gaze on Rath. "Yes, can I help you, Nefer-Tina?" He asked and Nefer-Tina blinked, noting that I was soaking wet and that one of the bandages that had been wrapped around my waist had come loose.

"Did I interrupt something, Rath?" She asked with a faint grin and I blinked, avoiding her eyes grateful that I wasn't able to blush.

"Nothing happened between us, Nefer-Tina. Jade was merely explaining what a shower was to me and I thought I would give it a try." Rath asked, arms crossed against his chest. "Now was there something you needed?"

"I just wanted to check up on you two, Rath. You did face Scarab and I was worried about you." Nefer-Tina explained and I nodded, stepping away from the shower before I crossed the bathroom.

"Thanks for checking up on us, Nefer-Tina but we're okay. Scarab will think twice about using me to get to Presley again." I replied and she gave me a slight nod though as soon as she started to leave I saw her giving me a wink and I blinked, curious as Rath gently closed the door.

"I believe you were in the middle of taking a shower with me, Rath?" I pointed out once he turned fully around and he crossed his arms, raising both eyebrows at me until I grinned at him. "Is that a problem?" I added, secretly grateful when he moved close enough to rest a hand on my shoulder.

"Of course not, Jade but wouldn't it be easier to take a shower one at a time?" Rath suggested, draping an arm around my waist. "Or did you have something else in mind?"

"Well, I was kind of wondering if you'd….like to…." I trailed off, unable to focus when Rath stepped up behind me wrapping both of his arms around my waist.

"Try doing what that couple on the magic box was doing?" Rath answered for me, shocking us both into an awkward silence for several minutes. "Oh you didn't mean….forgive me, Jade I don't know why I thought that." He stammered but I shook my head, covering his hands with mine.

"I'd like to but not right now. I just keep thinking about how close I came to losing you and…." I swallowed, unable to form words as he held me against his chest stroking my hair when I started to sniff.

"Jade, I'm sorry you had to go through that because I wouldn't let you help me but I promise that from now on I'll come to you for help if I need it again," Rath answered and I nodded, wiping at my eyes with the back of my hand before I turned fully around.

With our foreheads pressed together, I could feel his arms around me, holding me close. The knowledge that Rath was himself again brought a tiny smile to my face and after Rath cupped my chin, raising my mouth to his, I kissed him the instant I felt his lips on mine grateful to whichever Egyptian gods had had a hand on bringing us back together.

After the third kiss, we broke apart and I smiled, resting my head under Rath's chin as he stroked my back with his thumb. "The others will be wondering where we have gone." Rath pointed out and I just shrugged, enjoying both the warm water and Rath's closeness.

"Nefer-Tina already saw us together and I'm sure Ja-Kal and Armon will figure it out soon. Still, I really don't care what anyone thinks after the past few days we've had." I replied, giving Rath a slow smile and he nodded bringing me in for another kiss. We eventually emerged from the bathroom hand and hand and dry after making use of several dry towels to the grins of our friends leaving me wondering just what Nefer-Tina had told the other guardians.

"Jade was merely explaining to me what a shower is," Rath told my friends and Ja-Kal raised an eyebrow as Nefer-Tina giggled knowing that we had been getting very close when she interrupted us earlier.

"I just gave Rath a practical lesson on how to use a shower since everyone seems to think much more went on between us. It was just a shower and nothing more." I agreed though when Rath squeezed my left hand giving me a faint smile I grinned back at him, liking how caring my boyfriend was right now. Especially after how close we'd come to losing him and that sudden realisation brought fresh tears to my eyes and I released his hand, hurrying back towards the bathroom though not before everyone could see that I was silently crying.

Rath started after me taking longer than he'd liked before he rushed after me but by then I'd shut the door and he paused, thinking about giving me some space. Until he heard faint weeping coming from inside the bathroom which immediately made up his mind and he pulled the door open, finding me standing near the shower my arms wrapped around me and fresh tears spilling down my cheeks. "Jade, whatever is the matter?" Rath asked, grimacing when I sobbed and he raced forward drawing me into his arms.

After some back-rubbing and kind words, Rath soon had me resting my head on his chest, his arms wrapped around my waist now. "Sorry, Rath but I just reminded myself of how much I would have lost if Scarab had succeeded in his plan." I apologised, wiping at my eyes. "Man I'm not usually this weepy."

"You don't need to apologise, Jade. It was my own stubbornness that caused this problem." Rath answered giving me a tiny smile when I blinked at him. "Do not tell the others I said that."

"Of course I won't, Rath. Still, I'm enjoying how honest you're being with me now." I replied and he chuckled, still holding me tightly around my waist. "While I'm liking being alone with you if we don't get back soon everyone's going to start gossiping."

"Yes, I believe that would be a good idea." Rath agreed, leading me outside though when he lingered in the doorway I frowned only to receive a kiss that left me grinning like a fool as we stepped out of the bathroom and into view of our worried friends. "Nothing happened." Rath sighed once he saw everyone staring at him then at me as I tried to shake the silly grin off my face.
