Authors Note!

Please read!

OKAY! Now that I have your attention a few words.

First of all.

THANK YOU!!!!!

When I started writing this it was only to tide me over until the stories I was reading were updated.

But since then not only have over two hundred people followed this story but I've gotten around 20 thousand views.

These are numbers I not only didn't expect but didn't think possible so thank you.

Now into the real reason for an intermission.

I need to explain a few things about this story and how I've been writing it.

The biggest thing to note is that I do this for fun And while I'm grateful for all the attention it's not my goal. That being said I will say here and now I have no intentions of dropping this story before it's finished.

Another thing to note is the complaints and criticisms, while a huge portion of you have given amazing help some going so far as to edit huge portions of the story to help me.

I don't write.

What I mean is that I haven't written a page's worth of words in years!

I don't know shit about writing and without extensive use of Grammarly, I wouldn't even be using correct spellings.

So please bare with me as I try my damndest to push through my near illiteracy.

Now onto a much bigger issue, you all have had.

That being the story itself.

If you haven't surmised from the story itself things are very much not how they should be.

And this is intentional.

The biggest changes to cannon I can explain without spoilers are as follows.

New worlders don't have a level cap anymore.

Momonga is much more broken.

Summons while able to level up are not as smart as before some like liches are reduced to nonspeaking near mindless beings.

And lastly, Momonga is making mistakes, a lot of them!

Now the new worlders, I want Momonga to have a Challenge so those that do survive will be far stronger than cannon.

When I say broken I mean BROKEN he has lost everything! And as it should be is now scared to lose anything forgoing his normal patterns in favor of extreme caution.

The issue with the summons is that if I allowed them to speak with Momonga he wouldn't be alone and confused now would he? No, he would summon a few liches and have them assist him mentally, here he can't do that.

And when I say mistakes I mean it. If his guild mates were here to see it they would force him to log out and take a break from the game. He is not in the right state of mind to be making decisions and that is going to show heavily.

Now for those of you still here.

Side story, Chapter two.

A blur of motion. Gunshots.

Screams.

Suzuki closed his blinds and slowly walked to the only chair in his apartment.

And sat releasing a deep sigh he didn't realize he was holding.

'There no way in hell I just saw that.

No, no it's not possible. The dive gear must've malfunctioned when I logged out and left lingering images of Yggdrasil.

Yeah, that's all it is hopefully it goes away by tomorrow morning.'

He glanced at the digital alarm clock beside his futon.

12:05

"I'd better get some sleep I have work at four."

Shalltear was ecstatic as she tore through the pathetic line the filthy humans had made.

Tearing their bodies into pieces brought her a joy she'd not felt since Momonga had graced her with his presence almost four whole days ago.

Her body let out a shudder at the thought of her master's figure.

A soft ringing began inside her head.

Accepting the magic she stopped her assault to the joy of the insects around her.

'Demiurge, how are things on your end?'

'Excellent, so far I've managed to contact both Aura and Mare. They appear to have arrived in this world together.'

Shalltear was thankful that the two had been found, after all, they could be considered cousins of sorts.

'Have they found anything of note besides the filth?'

Demiurge was silent for a moment.

'Yes and I'm afraid it brings a word of caution.

As I hope you've noticed the humans of this world are far from what we faced back in Yggdrasil yes?'

She stopped to think of any notable damage she'd taken. And when not even a scratch came to mind she spoke.

'Yes they appear far weaker than what I'm used to, perhaps these are just pop monsters and we've yet to enter their base properly?'

Demiurge let out a small chuckle.

'While I'd be inclined to agree with you I'm afraid that isn't true. While they appear weak themselves their weaponry far exceeds themselves.

Aura has lost an arm.

Of course, it was healed immediately, but not before the two were forced to retreat.

From what I've gathered it seems that while all of them are barely level five their weapons are on par with divine-level gear.'

A peppering of metal and a scream to her left distracted her.

A man had run towards her discharging his weapon right at her chest.

"Brave."

A single swipe of her lance created a fine pink mist.

'Are you sure Demiurge? From what I see these things aren't even close to the humans from before?'

'Positively, although it would seem the weapons capable of harming us are fairly large and bulky so remain cautious and you should have no troubles.'

The {Message} ended and Shalltear flicked her lance sending a spray of gore across a building.

"Are you sure this is the best option, sir?"

A young man dressed in a dark green suit squirmed as he stood a foot behind his senior.

"Yes, we'd gain the field tests needed as well as a swift conclusion to the threat. Ultimately the lives lost will be a necessary sacrifice to save the greater populous.

The fact we will benefit from the test is irrelevant."

The young man watched as his senior turned from the green flickering that was the radar.

On it, a large red dot was slowly moving toward a city.

The large man pulled a bright red key from his pocket placing it into its designated slot on the console beside him.

"For the American people, I won't let some damned monster do as it wishes!"

Gargantua moved toward the humans.

'Protect, kill, defend.'

Another step and its mountain-sized body moved ever closer to the cluster of humans.

Invaders had to be dealt with.

Behind the golem, a small trail of smoke moved toward him.

Far too slow to be any harm it ignored the weak projectile.

It struck.

And in an instant half a gram of antimatter detonated.

Disintegrating the golem as its last thoughts were of its desire to protect its master's home.
