Percy POV
I had to head back to camp now. Surely many chores awaited me. I groaned thinking about it. While I waited in the corner, Artemis said her final goodbye to her mum, and then came to me with a big smile on her face. Seeing as I didn't know how to flash, Artemis would take me to camp. She put a hand on my shoulder, and then flashed us away. After feeling sick and dizzy for a brief moment, I lifted my head up and looked around, only to notice that we were not at the hunters camp yet. Artemis was right in front of me and was sitting on the ocean beach, her feet dipping into the water. Without even looking back, she said to me, "sit Perseus," and posted the earth next to her. I took a seat, curious of why Artemis wanted to be with me privately before going to camp. She looked at me, and I actually gasped when I saw her face. Her beautiful face, may I say. She smirked at me, then went back to staring at the ocean.
"Why did you Perseus?" Artemis asked, and I knew she was talking about my decision to free her mother from her imprisonment. I sighed, knowing that either way, I would have to tell her. Might as well get it over with now.
"Millady. I did it for 3 reasons. Firstly, no one deserves to be imprisoned just because they are related to titans. It's cruel and unfair. Secondly, I remember growing up with only one parent and I wouldn't want anyone to feel that way. Finally, I felt guilty." Artemis scrunched her eyebrows. Gods she looked so cute when she did that. Artemis opened her mouth to say something, but I cut her off.
"I will tell you everything when we get back to camp Millady," I assured her. She looked like she was about to protest, but instead, nodded glumly, and then flashed us into the middle of the hunters camp.
Artemis POV
"Alright hunters settle down," I told my hunters when I arrived with Percy at camp. This didn't have the desired effect, because the hunters still kept bombarding me with questions. I raised my hand for silence, and slowly, all the voices died down. Perseus watched us from afar. I guess he didn't seem thrilled by the idea of spending time with my hunters. Then again, if he did, he would probably get shot by them anyway. I told the hunters what had happened, and they seemed shocked when I told them that my mother had come back.
"Who is the new Olympian," a small girl named Tracy asked. "They must be really nice." I nodded.
"They are.'
I spent the next few hours hanging out with the hunters. We played hide and seek, tag as well as talked about our lives. However, one thing was nagging me. Where was Perseus. I hadn't seen him since we arrived. While I was certain he was doing chores, I couldn't help but feel a little guilty that the man who had brought my mother back from prison was doing chores when I still hadn't been able to say thanks. Dinner was coming soon, so hopefully I could talk to him then. When 7:30 came, Perseus arrived bang on time, and once again asked us what we would like to eat. I got a vegetarian pasta which tasted delicious. It was one of the benefits of having Perseus around. As I was eating, yet again, Perseus wasn't eating. I understand that he couldn't eat the foot he summoned, but how much longer could he go like this?
"Please eat something Perseus," I asked him. He shakes his head, looking down.
"You are not an immortal yet Perseus." Many hunters gasped. I guess that ended the conversation on who the new Olympian was. ,"You need to eat or you'll die. Have a bite."
"Millady I can't," he said. I was shocked by how cracked and weak his voice sounded. There seemed to be no part of the old, happy, mischievous Percy in him anymore. I sighed.
"Wait by my tent. I wish to speak to you." He gave me a bow, then trudged off to my tent. I had to knock some sense into him and teach him that he needed to live. I don't want him to die. I want him to live and have a good life. But why, I ask myself. He's just a male. Argh! My brain is going crazy with Perseus around.
"Earth to Artemis!" someone yelled. Dazed, I looked up to see all my hunters smirking at me. Glaring at them, I asked, "What?" They just kept on smirking at me.
"Millady what were you thinking about?" Thalia asked. Uh oh! I needed to think of an alibi and fast!
"Errr well so I was wondering what we should do tomorrow." Yeah that sounded pretty good.
Thalia didn't buy it though.
"What would we be doing tomorrow that made you blush so hard?" Thalia questioned me. At this, most of the hunters snickered. I felt heat rising to my face, and before I could make more of a fool out of myself, I excused myself and left the table. Why Perseus? I have never felt this way for any man, not even Orion. Me and Aphrodite needed to have a good chat soon. I reached my tent to see Perseus sitting on the mud outside. Why was he outside? Maybe because I told him to! Gods I'm so stupid. He won't care about me this way. Wait why do I want Perseus to care about me. I need to control this new feeling of mine!
"Rise Perseus," I told him. He obeyed and stood up wiping his eyes, but not before I saw the many tears falling down his cheek. The brave hero and twice saviour of Olympus was crying, and it was probably the first time someone saw his crying too. He gave me a watery smile.
"So how was dinner," he said. "Did you miss me so much that you left early." Wow. He was crying, yet he still had a sense of humour. This comment made me blushed for some annoying reason. I turned around, but it seems that there was no point because Perseus was looking down anyways.
"So Perseus. What do you feel so guilty that you saved my mother?" He looked down and mumbled something. To help him out, I put my hand under his chin and raised his head so he was looking me in the eye. His sea green eyes. Gosh, I could drown in them. They were beautiful, like him.
"Artemis?" He called. I realized that I was staring too long, and blushed madly, while forcing myself to look away.
"So why did you save my mother. I couldn't hear you last time."
"I felt guilty for invading you and your hunters lives so I decided to help you and bring your mother back so maybe you could all treat me a bit better," he said sadly. This enraged me. What were the hunters doing to Perseus that had made him feel this guilty. We needed to have a good talk. Perseus seemed very sad.
"Perseus I can't tell-" he cut me off.
"Please call me Percy millady," he requested.
"Then you call me Artemis and skip the bowing crap," I teased. He nodded in respect. We both dear in silence for a bit, and I started to realise that this boy was different to the others. He wouldn't hurt my hunters or take advantage of women. Maybe that's why I like him. Eventually, Percy needed to go and sleep, as all of his chores seemed to knacker him. I watched him walk off, and thought about how much I enjoyed him presence, his beautiful sea green eyes, his messy raven hair. That was when I heard my hunter scream.
