Chapter 4
Annabeth's POV
I couldn't believe what I saw come out of the water.
"It's Parents' Day!" Poseidon boomed.
What was even weirder was the fact that my own mother Athena, was standing right next to him.
"Mother!" I yelled.
"Why hello Annabeth." She scowled at Percy when she said that.
"What are you doing here mother"? I asked.
"Didn't Percy tell you that we are having a parent's day?"
"No, he did not." I looked at Percy, "Why didn't you tell me about this" I asked him in an aggressive tone.
"My father and I just talked about it this morning; he didn't tell me that it would happen a couple hours after our conversation.
"Well of course not Percy that would ruin the surprise" Athena said.
Can things get any weirder I wondered?
As I looked over at Percy several things go through my mind at once. How he looks calm but at the same time nervous because both our parents are here.
"Now back to business" Poseidon announced.
I was pretty nervous about what was going to happen next, but I knew as long as I have Percy, I'll be ok. The more I thought about Percy the more I wanted to be alone with him.
He saw my eyes glued on him and asked, "do you see something you like Annabeth? "
He knew not to call me Wise Girl in fear that my mother would do something to him. I love him and nothing not even our parents will break this bond. It didn't occur to me that when I was transfixed on Percy, I was completely ignoring our parents talking.
"Annabeth!" My mother shouted. "Did you even hear what we said?"
I tried to sound confident, so I said, "of course I did mother."
"Well, what do you think about the plans we made?" My mother asked.
"I think that Poseidon should say what he thinks and then I'll respond" I said innocently.
"Why thank you my dear daughter" Poseidon said.
"She's not your daughter, she's mine" Athena said.
"Well, she's going to be" Poseidon said. "What I think about our plans is that we should do whatever the kids want as long as it's within reason."
"Well father" Percy started. "I think that we should go to a water park because then you'll be around water and Athena will still watch people make good or bad decisions. But you two will have to look human because you can't wear armor to a water park."
"I think that's a splendid idea" Athena said. "There could've been worse ideas that Percy came up with."
"I do too" I said as I grabbed Percys hand.
"What else should we do daughter?" Athena said.
"I think we should see a movie." I told my mother.
"What's the movie then?" Athena said
"I think Aqua-man because once again it has water and strategy in it so both of you would be comfortable with it."
Our parents seemed to ponder our suggestions and while they thought about it, Percy looked at me and while our parents weren't paying attention and kissed me. A kiss that seemed to last forever before Percy pulled away just as our parents looked our way.
"We have thought over your suggestions" Poseidon said.
"What have you concluded father" Percy asked.
"Both of us have agreed to your ideas just as long as we're able to get along for the day" Athena said as she glared at Poseidon.
"I'm ok with that" Percy said. "What do you think Annabeth?" He asked.
"I am ok with what you decide" I said.
"Ok now, let's get on our way" Percy said as he grabbed my hand.
We left at 9:30 a.m. in a green, gray Camaro with Poseidon driving and Athena riding shotgun. Heading towards our best day ever.
