Chapter 7
Percy POV
While on our way to get something to eat, we saw an old friend that appeared on a metal dragon.
"What's up everyone" Leo said with a sly look on his face.
"Leo" I said. "What's happening?"
"Oh, you know just flying around causing trouble" he said.
"You are not Leo" Calypso said as she playfully slapped him.
"You're right, it's just my dragon causing trouble" he said.
"So, what were all of you going to do before we showed up" Calypso asked.
"We were just about to go get breakfast; would you two care to join us" I asked.
"Breakfast actually sounds pretty good right now" Calypso said.
As we all started walking towards the dining hall, we passed all the cabins that were built over the past year. As of right now there were 27 cabins and more to come.
"Since when did we build all these cabins?" Leo said.
"Since the gods started paying more attention to their children" I said.
After that we continued walking to the pavilion to have breakfast. The smell of bacon, eggs, pancakes, and flowers filled the air as we approached it.
Immediately, Grover and Juniper ran over to eat the flowers that covered the tables.
"Do we still have to eat at separate tables" Leo inquired.
"Chiron hasn't told us to sit at other tables since we got together" Annabeth said.
We all grabbed our food and started heading towards the head dining table. Of course, I grabbed blue pancakes and eggs and a cup of orange juice and Annabeth grabbed a plate of fruit which I found interesting.
"Why do you always eat blue food?" Leo and Calypso asked.
"Blue foods have always been my favorite since I was little" I said.
As we sat and ate, we started talking about all the projects we all have been doing.
"What have you been doing Leo? Anything
constructive and dangerous?" I asked.
"As a matter of fact," he started. "I've actually been building a house for Calypso and I so we can start settling down."
"After we travel for a couple more years" Calypso said.
"What about you Tyson" I asked.
"I was promoted to head of building" Tyson said. "I even made daddy a new palace, but it's not finished. He wants us to go there once it's done."
"That's fantastic news" I said.
"What have you two been doing since we last saw each other?" Leo asked slyly.
"Funny you should ask" I said. "A couple days ago our parents took us on a parent's day."
"Oh man that sounded stressful" Grover said with flowers in his hands.
"It was actually really nice; we went to a water park since that's something Poseidon and Athena could connect on" Annabeth said.
"Dad actually made everyone disappear so we could have the park to ourselves" I said to Tyson.
"Big brother, you won't believe what dad and uncle Zeus did yesterday" Tyson said.
"What did they do?" I asked.
"Dad and Zeus took all the pollution from the oceans and threw it into space" he said.
"He did tell me he'd do that, but I never asked if he did or not" I said.
"You should talk to him more often so you can know what he's doing" Grover said as he ate the flowers on the table.
"I know but I've been busy helping Chiron do projects around camp" I said.
We talked for about 2 hours just enjoying each other's company until Tyson said, "hey I have to go my lunch hours ended."
"Now that you mention that I have to go as well" Grover said. "I have a meeting with the council of cloven elders in a little bit."
With that everyone started to separate going to various jobs and activities.
"Dad told me what you are going to do with Annabeth" Tyson whispered to me. "Just know, I'm setting something up at the water, it'll be done once you get there. Just give me a signal when you arrive" he whispered to me.
Annabeth and I walked back to our cabin to change into our swimsuits for the water.
As she was changing, I went and got the ring my dad gave me and put it in the box I had it in and stuffed it into my pocket.
I went to the patio and started talked to it saying, "hey dad, I hope you're listening, I'm gonna take Annabeth to the beach to propose to her and I hope you help me make it special."
The water didn't make any notion that it heard me, but a Naiad looked up from the water and gave me a thumbs up.
"Are you ready to go" Annabeth said as she put a swimsuit cover on.
"You know I'm always ready to spend time with you." With that I took her hand, made sure the ring was in my pocket, and walked to the beach.
"Annabeth, you know I'd do anything to make sure you're taken care of and that nothing would hurt you" I asked.
"I know you would Percy" she replied.
"I wouldn't want to spend time with anyone else besides you and our close friends and family, with that being said I have a surprise for you."
As I finished, golden archways shot out of the sea, suddenly the water froze while writing, Percy Annabeth= forever love.
As she stared in awe, I made sure the ring was in my pocket, and waited for her to finally look away from the water.
As she turned around, we locked eyes as I grabbed her hands. "Anna, for the longest time all I've ever known is being by myself. Aside from Grover, my mom, Chiron, and Tyson, I didn't have anyone that really cared about me".
"Then came you, at first we didn't like each other because of our parents. But the more time I spent with you, the more I realized that I actually liked being with you."
"It was pretty hard at first," said Anna. "You were pretty loud and obnoxious" she said.
"It has been a little hard along the way, with you being taken from me. After all the times we weren't together made me miss you more and want to come back to you."
"When Zeus had asked me if I wanted to be immortal, I was honestly thinking about you and I being immortal so I could be with you forever. Then I realized that I would've missed all the friends that we've made."
"Being immortal would've been nice since I'd be with you forever, but I would miss our friends and family as well" Annabeth said.
As I stared into her eyes, my hand closed in on the ring. "Annabeth there is no one I'd rather spend the rest of my life with besides you."
As I dropped down on one knee, I brought out the ring that was in my pocket. "Annabeth Chase, so much has happened for us to come to this special moment. We've been taken from each other, almost died on several occasions, but through it all you always stuck by my side and never gave up on us. Will you Annabeth Chase, marry me?"
"I thought you'd never ask, of course I'll marry you" she replied as tears ran down her face.
As I put the ring on her finger, all around us, campers, nature spirits and counselors swarmed us and threw us onto their shoulders just close enough to hold hands as they carried us to the pavilion.
