That night, I stayed in one of the guest rooms at the Salvatore house. Something about being safer here is what Damon said. He also mentioned that if Klaus knows where I am, he could capture me just like he did to Katherine.

Oh yeah. Also, apparently while I was busy searching for Klaus, the gang came into contact with Elena's mother. Her birth mother, not the one who died. So her family tree just continues to get bigger and bigger.

Anyway, Isobel. I'm pretty sure, tricked Katherine and gave her to Klaus. Once her duty was done, Klaus made sure he had no loose ends and compelled her to burn in the sun. At least that's what Elena hoped would happen and her mother didn't commit suicide for no reason.

Katherine being captured by Klaus makes sense. Must be how he knew about me daggering Elijah.

Now, I'm sitting on the Salvatore couch with Bonnie, watching Elena sign off the deed to the house.

"So this place is all yours? They just gave it to you?" Bonnie asked.

"For now, as sole owner, I am the only person who can invite a certain type of person if you know what I mean." Elena states, trying not to use the word 'vampire' in front of the man giving her the papers.

"So this is your plan to protect yourself from him? Hiding here?" I asked.

"Yep. And I'm not hiding here. Just taking extra precautions, and I already know what you're going to say." Elena states.

"Actually, I think it's a pretty smart idea." I tell her, and they both look at me surprised.

"Really?" Bonnie asks.

"Yeah. You shouldn't spend your whole day cooped up in here, but at least you can come and go as you please, without having to worry about someone being tricked into letting certain people in." I say, taking note of the guy.

"Exactly." Elena continued to sign the papers.

"Well, you wouldn't want to clean it." Bonnie jokes, and Elena laughs. I give a small smile.

This will hold Klaus off for a good while. At least until I figure out what to do with him.

"So, I hear you got the power of 100 dead witches." I whisper to Bonnie.

"Yeah. I did and I am still alive so I guess you were wrong." Bonnie states confidently. Just as she says that, Elena and the guy start to make their way to the door.

"Have you been having any migraines, headaches, or nausea?" I ask her curiously.

"Nope, I'm feeling perfectly fine." Bonnie said.

"No bloody noses or anything?"

"None."

"And you have used the power, right?" I ask her.

"Of course I have. Can you please stop stressing over this? I've used magic before; I got it under control."

"Bonnie, I don't think you understand. It's more than just having your own magic. These powers once belonged to someone else. You have no idea if any of these witches have practiced black magic or anything too strong for you to handle." I tell her, and she looks at me confused.

"How do you know so much about this?" She asked me, confused, and I realized I had given her too much information.

"I learned a lot about witches on my trip to avenge my brother." I stated, going back to my fake story.

"Exactly! You told us you did everything in your power to avenge your brother, including going to every witch you could find and trying every spell. I am doing the same thing to protect my friends." Bonnie tried to reason with me.

"Yes, I know how it feels to do anything for the people you love." I said.

"Then let me. You told me that I was a beginner witch, but said I wouldn't get better unless I took off my training wheels."

"Well, I think you skipped that and went straight to the car." I still don't believe this is a good idea.

"Whatever gets the job done is fine by me." Bonnie got up from the couch. "I need to pack for school now."

"Wait." I asked her, but she was already making her way to her bag. It's so frustrating talking to this group, but I have to realize that they are teenagers and not reasonable adults.

I turned to see Damon and Stefan, who were now inside the house. I gave them a brief wave, as Bonnie grabbed her and Elena's bags and handed them to Elena.

"Thanks." Elena states.

"Wait where are you going?" Stefan asks Elena.

"School."

"Huh?" Stefan asks confused.

"No, no, no. We didn't create a safe house so you could leave it." Damon states immediately dismissing Elena's plan.

"Yeah, guys, Klaus is out there. We know that." Stefan tries to reason.

"Right, but where? No one knows." Elena states and turns to face me. "Do you know Kalle?"

"Nope. And honestly, I think you should let them go to school. She can't stay here for the rest of her life." I tell them, and Elena agrees.

"You're not helping." Damon says, irritated, and I just give him a shrug.

"Look, I really appreciate what you guys are doing. And I'll be able to sleep at night knowing I'm safe here, but I won't be a prisoner." Elena states, marking her ground. For once, I actually agree with her.

Stefan seems to agree with her as well. Elena and Stefan both look to Damon for his answer.

"Your way, Elena." Damon states annoyed.

"Don't worry, I'm ready. If he shows his face, I can take him." Bonnie says. "I know how."

"The way I see it, the safest place is next to Bonnie." Elena stated.

"We'll see about that." I muttered to myself, but they could all hear me. Bonnie looked at me angrily and was offended.

"If you're so sure I'll harm myself, then why don't you come with us?" Bonnie states, and I look up at her confused.

"Excuse me?" I tell her.

"Actually. That's a great idea, and it would be nice to have two powerful witches protecting me." Elena agrees with Bonnie.

I laughed at their statements. "You're joking, right?"

"Yeah. Seeing Kalle in high school, oh I can imagine. I can see a cheer uniform on you now." Damon mocks and I throw a pillow at him.

"I'm not going to high school." I say in a more serious tone.

"Then have faith in me." Bonnie states, and I just sigh in defeat. "Let's go, Elena."

They both started to make their way out the door, and Stefan and Damon both tried to budge me to go with them. I continued to shake my head no at the terrible idea. Finally, Stefan decided to go with them.

"Wait, I'm coming." Stefan states surprised by his own answer. Stefan, Elena, and Bonnie then all leave the house.

"Well, it seems like it's just you and me." I state.

"Hmm. Well I am about to down about three bottle of bourbon. You want in?" Damon offers me.

"Why not? We're all going to be screwed anyway." I state.

"Well, right this way." He gestures to the kitchen. I get up from the couch and make my way to the kitchen, with Damon following behind me.

"So, did John know about Isobel's plan?" I asked, drinking my fourth cup of bourbon.

"He claims he didn't, but I would say otherwise." Damon states drinking straight from the bottle.

"And she didn't do anything with Elena? Why didn't she bring him to Klaus?" I wonder.

"I don't know. Apparently, he just wanted Katherine. Maybe he just wanted to kill her after she screwed him over." Damon states in a joking manner.

"I doubt that." I state finishing my fourth cup. "Another."

"Are you sure? You seem rather light-headed to be drinking so much." Damon asked, uncertain.

"Just pour the bottle." I tell him, and he does just that.

"What do you mean by that though? Don't you think he killed her?" Damon asks back to Katherine's topic.

"No. I mean Katherine knows our plan, or at least some of it. She knows what you guys have been doing for the past couple of days. Why would Klaus just capture and kill her if it doesn't do anything for him?" I state, making Damon question the real reason why Elena was not taken to Klaus.

"He's using her for information to capture Elena." Damon realizes.

"Exactly. Now you're using the big, dumb head of yours." I state, kinda woozy.

"You're drunk." He stated, taking the glass away from me.

"No, I'm tipsy. Trust me; you'll know when I'm drunk." I said taking the glass back from him. "I have a question for you."

"I'm all ears." Damon says leaning on the counter.

"Do you actually believe you can defeat Klaus?" I asked him, and he was taken aback by the question, but not surprised.

"Yes, I do. He may be an original but we have already taken down one, we can do another." Damon says certain.

"But you no longer have the dagger. Also, isn't Klaus supposed to be way more powerful than Elijah?" I ask him as I continue to drink.

"Supposedly. I honestly think he is all talk, but either way, we have our secret weapon." Damon says, and I look at him confused. "Bonnie."

"Don't you think you're putting too much faith in her? I understand, the girl has the power of 100 witches, but how do you know what will be enough to kill him?" I ask, and Damon looks at me suspiciously.

"You know, ever since Bonnie got these powers, you've been going after her." Damon states, and I look at him surprised. "I heard your conversation earlier. You don't think she can handle it, and it sounds like you're jealous of the power she now has."

"I'm not jealous of her newfound power." I state confidently.

"Sounds like it. Keep compiling about how she cannot control it, as if you can do the job better. I think you're jealous she is more powerful than you know." Damon says with a smirk, and I give him a glare.

I know how powerful I am. I could overthrow my brother or any of my siblings, if I truly tried. Power can be strengthened as one gets older. No matter how many times Bonnie casts spells, her powers will never compare to the experience of 1000 years of being a witch.

"Now that I think about it, since Bonnie is so powerful, your usefulness is becoming very limited." Damon states, drinking his bottle of bourbon.

"Really? Then why am I still here?" I asked curiously.

"Because we can't have Klaus capture you and torture you until you tell him our secrets or help him with his sacrifice." Damon explains, and I give him a sly smirk.

"Really, that's the reason. It's not because you're actually starting to like me and my company?" I say kinda flirty and I can see him blushing.

"Don't flatter yourself, shortcake." Damon states. I get up from the stool I was sitting on and make my way to Damon.

"Are you sure? I feel something different." I say as I get closer to him. I look at his eyes, then look down at his lips.

"Really?" Damon says, intrigued, looking down at my lips now. "Well, if you feel that way, maybe my feelings could change."

"Yeah. I find out relationship very interesting." I state with my lips coming closer to his. He moves in closer as well.

"And what do you find interesting about it?" Damon says, being seductive with his lips inches away from mine.

"You want to know what I find interesting?" I say in the same seductive tone.

"Yeah." He whispers, his lips almost touching mine.

Our lips brush against each other, until I stop moving forward and instead look at his eyes. "How incredibly gullible you are."

I say with a smile, and he pushes me away. I start laughing as I move away from him and make my way back to my seat.

"You're not funny." Damon said in an annoyed tone.

"You honestly believe I would sleep with someone just to have a couple of nights of sex?" I ask him, and he shrugs his shoulders.

"It could be some very good nights." He says in a charming tone, and I roll my eyes.

"Gonna have to take your word for it because I am never getting in bed with you." I say.

"We'll see about that." Damon said with a smirk.

"Why do you continue to sleep with women if you're obviously in love with someone?" I ask him, and he looks at me confused.

"Do I truly need to explain the needs of a man..." Damon begins.

"OKAY! Do not need to know." I say stopping him and he chuckles.

We both heard commotion coming from the living room. It looks like they're back from school.

"Damon!" Stefan screams at him.

"That's my cue." Damon downs the rest of the bottle. He makes his way out of the kitchen, saying this last statement. "Please don't drink any more."

"No promises." I say, putting my glass in the air. I feel I should probably follow him, but I really needed this drink. It has been a long and tough couple of days.

I finished drinking my last glass, and I headed out to the living room. Ready to get through this day. A little tipsy, but ready.

"Me. I'm the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If we can find him, we can kill him." Bonnie states confidently and I roll my eyes.

"That's not going to be easy. He's the biggest, baddest vampire around." Alaric stated.

"I second that." I say making my entrance into the room. "Alaric has a point, like I have been saying this entire time."

I can see Alaric looking me up and down. But I haven't seen him since the Elijah mess, so maybe that's why he's looking at me like that. I choose to ignore it for now.

"Yeah. I mean what if he-" Damon states and rushes to Bonnie, but Bonnie uses her magic to push him away. Sending Damon flying in the air. Everyone looks at Bonnie, surprised.

"Well, I was impressed." Stefan stated, and I just smirked. No matter what I say to oppose it, I have to admit, she is strong now.

"It doesn't matter if he's an Original. I can take down anyone who comes at me." Bonnie states as she walks up to Elena. "I can kill an Original, Elena. I know I can."

As everyone is looking at Bonnie, I notice a change in Alaric's face. It looks almost scared, or worried.

"Are you okay? You look a little freaked out." I ask Alaric, and he turns to me. His face suddenly changes again, and it becomes confident.

"I'm fine. Just surprised at how powerful Bonnie has become." Alaric states, and I give him a small nod.

"Bonnie that was a small fling against an ignorant headstrong vampire who is not even 200 years old." I state.

"Hey!" Damon shouts at me, offended, but I just ignore him.

"You're going up against an 1,000-year-old vampire who's been through it a million times. You'll need to tap into much more power than that." I tell her, and she looks back at me with annoyance.

"I am so tired of hearing that I can't do this. You and Jeremy are seriously acting like I am a ticking time bomb that is waiting to explode!" Bonnie says, irritated.

"Kalle, instead of bringing her down, how about you courage her. I mean all you have been doing is complaint about how she can get herself killed if she uses too much power." Elena states and I see Alaric face change once again.

Something here, it is not right. Ever since I walked into the room, I have been sensing this strong powerful energy. I assumed that was Bonnie, but not entirely sure anymore. Was Alaric compelled as well?

"Okay, go against Klaus." I tell Bonnie, and she looks at me surprised.

"Really? You think I'm strong enough." Bonnie asked me.

"It's not about what I think. It's about what we need, and that's Klaus dead." I state, seeing if I can get a reaction from Alaric, but nothing.

"Great. Now we have all come to a resolution, let's get ready for that dance." Stefan states, and Elena immediately nods.

"I should get going. I'll see you guys at the dance." Alaric said. They said goodbye, as we watched him leave. Something was going on with him.

Why was he acting so strangely? He was more than impressed by Bonnie's power. More like unprepared. Like he wasn't ready. Almost as if it would be used against him...

Wait, when I entered, he was eyeing me. As if he were surprised to see me. Before I came in here, I heard from the kitchen that my brother was at the school. He needed to get more information. He could have gone into someone they would trust. Someone they see every day.

Could Niklaus be inhabiting Alaric's body?
