Chapter 21: Same Villain, Different Case

After the meal was over, the mood shifted to planning mode and Rage reentered Crystal's headspace. We had to figure out how to stop 6 from achieving their goal of ruling the planet. "We need to think of a way to stop 6," I said. "And only one person knows how to get back possession of the crown."

"That is indeed correct," Boob replied. "Though I have one too, the crown is Crystal's and it would react differently if I treated it as mine."

"Correct," Crystal confirmed. "Only I can tell you how my crown works and potentially get it back. It's no guarantee but it's what we have." Horn looked confused to either reunite with the alters or stay out. So she asked for which choice would be the best.

"You should stay out," said Potion. "It will give us more allies to assist in the battle for Pufflefuffia."

"Oooh," exclaimed Sarivo. "I like that. That can be the headline for the article after we bring them to justice."

"That's if we win," I said. "But I know we can. It won't be easy but with everyone in support, the tide will shift." After some time past, Crystal was ready to reveal how her crown worked.

"Alright," Crystal said. "As you all know our royal kittydog crowns have power bedded into them and connected to us from birth. Well 6 has found a way to make them steal that power and connect themselves with it."

"Yep," said Horn. "We know very well."

"Good," Crystal continued. "6 can't do it alone. So they had to use another person to assist them with the transfer. I wasn't the only kittydog kidnapped. There was another."

"Who was it," questioned Sraivo.

"It was 9," Crystal answered. "It does make perfect sense as they are in a toxic relationship. 6 basically forces them. Now going back to the crown, the transfer would be so great that it would kill the person trying it. That is why 9 was kidnapped."

"So they would split the transfer and 6 would be the new ruler," Boob finished.

"That is impressive," Potion said. "But would happen to 9? I'm asking cause I didn't even know our crowns did this."

Crystal answered her daughter, "It's up to 6 as they would be the one in charge of the power. The alpha would decide what happens to the transferred victim. The only thing they can't do is kill them or revert that power back to them as it would cancel out the transfer and kill them."

"So 9 is in danger," I questioned.

"Yes," answered Crystal. "But she is not in danger of death. 6 on the other hand can use my power for their own purpose. Many lives could be lost."

"Then we have to stop them before that transfer begins," said Boob. "I don't want to see what 9 would become as you did say that 9 has no control over this and won't even after. 9 would be 6's slave."

"Pretty much," Crystal agreed.

"The thing is though," said Potion. "We don't know where they are."

"Leave that to me," I said.

"How," questioned Horn.

"Why it's just elementary," I answered. "We capture 6's allies and convince them to fight against their leader. This can lead to us finding the whereabouts of 6 and kidnapped 9."

"Smart idea," Horn agreed. Everyone else did as well. We were now on the search for the allies. I knew I had to come up with something creative to turn things around. Or so this is what I thought. We had to hurry as the time bomb was still ticking to the upcoming danger.

"It's time to begin the case of the same villain, different case begin," I said. One mystery solved, another begins but first we had to warn Pufflefluffia about 6.
