The Sun beamed down over the snow cover United tribe territory as Runt along with several of his other friends were in the process of playing hide and seek,tan furred Male pup closed his eyes and started counting to 100 and then the other pups including Runt scrambled to find hiding places,Runt looked around desperately for places to hide although he saw hundreds if not thousands of them but he had trouble picking which one to hide in,one spot is as good as another but Runt knew he had to pick fast because his friend is already at 60. It was then Runt said screw it and hid behind a medium sized bush and then he waited as he heard his friend counted to 70 Runt sat there in the bush and waited and listened as he heard his friend continuing to count while he was trying to stay quiet he didn't notice a small orange figure sneaking up behind him.
The figure was shown to be a female fox with Red Fur,hair that went down to her shoulders and beautiful blue eyes and looked to be the same age as Runt she quietly snuck up on Runt and crouched down next to him and whispered in his ear "what are you doing?" Runt jumped and nearly screamed when he heard her voice Runt looked at the young fox with complete confusion on who she was and how did she get into the territory. "What the,who are you?!"Runt asked in a hushed tone remembering he's still playing a game "Oh I'm Scarlet,nice to meet you."the Fox said in a friendly tone as she offered a handshake which Runt hesitantly took "Runt."Runt responded which made Scarlet confused as she didn't understand, was he insulting her.
"Excuse me?"Scarlet said with a little raised eyebrow "no my name is Runt."Runt clarifed which made Scarlet more confused "Your name is Runt,is that a nickname?" "No it's my actual name because I'm small."Runt exclaimed which made Scarlet stare at him bewildered "Yeah i know, back to my original question what are you doing here Scarlet?" "Oh I'm just looking for my idiot brothers, they ran off a little while ago and my parents are worried sick have you seen a couple of young male foxes around?"Scarlet asked with concern.
Runt looked back through the bush to hear his friend still counting now back to the matter of Scarlet, for the past hour in a half Runt hadn't seen any foxes other than her,and he doesn't think anyone else did two other way it would be the talk of the town,Runt could understand Scarlet's concern for her brothers as he had two siblings that would sometimes get into trouble, and Runt felt inclined to help her search for her brothers but then again he was a little bit hesitant to do so as he was taught and warned about the reputation of Foxes as cunning tricksters and occasional thieves that are always stealing,pranking and conning everyone.
Could Scarlet be conning Runt and her brothers could be in on it, it was a possibility but Runt was also told that not all Foxes are the same and Scarlet could not be up to no good neither could her brothers but there's only one way to find out the truth. "No i haven't, but after this game of hide and seek i could help you, what are their names and what do they look like?"
"Well their names are Redtail and Crimson,Redtail has normal orange fox fur but his his tail is Red and Crimson has...well crimson fur." Scarlet said making Runt nod "those are cool names, my brother's name is Stinky."Runt said with embarrassment which made Scarlet recoil in surprise "seriously, does he stink?"Scarlet asked "Well it depends on who you ask, he's body odor needs improvement and so does his Alpha skills."Runt said with a little grin making Scarlet giggle just then they heard the voice of Runt's friend "ready or not here i come!"
Meanwhile Elsewhere
Walking through the forest of the territory with big smiles on their faces was Kate and Humphrey they held hands as the gentle cool breeze rushed through their fur as they traveled through the ankle deep snow, "such a beautiful day my darling, clear blue skies, yellow sun and best of all the peaceful atmosphere of nature,let's let nothing ruin this beautiful day."Humphrey said wrapping an arm around Kate's waist who giggled and rested her head on Humphrey's shoulder and continued walking until a young male voice made them stop "Excuse me?"
Humphrey and Kate looked around for the source until their eyes landed on a male bear cub wearing mini barbarian clothing he looked to be about the same age as Stinky although he looked a little bit taller"What...the..."Humphrey squeaked in complete nervousness as he stared at the cub "Uh..hello."Kate said in equal nervousness then they began to look around for this cubs parents as no self respecting parent would leave their cub alone.
"Hello, what's your names?"The bear cub asked politely "I'm Kate this is my husband Humphrey."Kate said hesitantly "I'm Brent."the cub said with a little smile greatly surprising Kate and Humphrey "Um ok Brent, what are you doing here, you know that this is a wolf tribe territory?"Humphrey asked beginning to hide behind Kate "where are your parents Brent?"Kate asked looking around for any sign of any potential angry adult bears. Brent hung his head meekly "well my mom was taking on a couple of lone wolves who were trying to steal our cave,i got frightened and ran off and i got lost, she's probably looking for me right now..."
Then Brent looked at Kate and Humphrey with hope in his eyes as he asked this question "can you help me find her?"
