Hello! Welcome to my first ever fic, new to this stuff so happy to take some advice in the comments! I'm not a native speaker so there'll probably be some mistakes that will be fixed later. As for now hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1 Part 1

Somewhere in Everfree forest

On a tree sat a lone alicorn She had a green coat with a blood red mane. The most characteristic feature was her left eye which was more resembling a dragon's than a pony's, a slit pupil and a red ominous glow emanating from it. Excitement evident on her face

"Hmm... seems like Luna is finally coming back" A smile began to form on her muzzle "Long time no see old friend"

Meanwhile in Canterlot

"Hurry up Spike we need to get ready for the Summer Sun Celebration fast so we have time to learn more about Nightmare Moon's return" A purple unicorn mare said with a look of hurry on her face

"Didn't the princess already told you to not worry about that Twilight?" Said a small green dragon trying to keep up with the mare

"That's the point Spike the princess thinks it's just some old legend but I just know that danger is just around the corner"

《Time skip》

As Twilight entered the building her worries grew more and more "What if the legend is real?" Her mind reapeated again and again. As the mayor began announcing the begging of the Summer sun Celebration Twilights worries have been proven right as blue smoke entered the balcony that Princess Celestia was meant to appear.

"Oh my beloved subjects, its been so long since i've seen your sun-loving faces" Nightmare moon said with a hint of irony

"What did you do to our Princess?!" Rainbow dash asked

"Hahaha... am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?" Nightmare Moon asked "Does my crown no longer count now that I've been imprisoned for a thousand years? Did you not recall the legend, did you not see the signs?"

"I did and I know who you are, Nightmare Moon" Twilight said

"Is that so?, then you must know why I'm here."

"You're here to- to-"

"Hehehe remember this day little ponies for It'll be your last, from now on the night shall last forever! Hahahahah"

"Seize her! Only she knows where the princess is" Mayor ordered

Guards began to fly to the position of the mare
"Fools!" Nightmare moon said as she blasted the guards off the air with lightning and retreated where she couldn't be seen

《Meanwhile 》

As Nightmare entered the everfree forest she began to hear a familiar voice that she haven't heard in a long time

"Luna! You're finally here!" Said a cheerful voice

"I am NOT Luna my name is Nightmare Moon!"

"Oh come on Luna, don't you remember your friend also why are you here? Not that I have something against It! Your always welcome here"

"For the last time I AM NOT Luna! I am here to prepare for my victory don't stand in my way."

"Okay "Nightmare Moon" it's not like you could stop me anyway" the voice said like it was common knowledge

Deep under layers of her pride Nightmare knew that was true, she stood no chance against the spirit of everfree but she could make a deal "I'm going to the old castle... could you protect the castle from intruders?" She scowled at the prospect of asking something from another pony

"Oh nighty you know that I can't do that. I have to remain neutral, I'll only pester them with the standard stuff that I do for everyone " the spirit answered

Trying to suppress her anger at being called names for it would do her no good if she angered the spirit she practically hissed the last words "So be it"

As Nightmare flew off into the forest the spirit almost immediately started thinking about the ways of scaring off impending visitors "Yeah that would do for the beginning and for some time later we'll get... ah thats perfect!" She said suppressing a laugh "That'll be fun"
