Frowning because, usually he could find Naruto quite quickly. With his crystal ball he can sense chakra and receive a projection or a live feed of what ever or who he is looking for be it they have enough chakra. Naruto even as a 4th year academy student had just as much chakra as he did meaning if he couldn't find Naruto, he was either masking his chakra and hiding ( which is bad... mobs with a few gennin and chunin sprinkled in bad ) or he was being tortured and doesn't have enough chakra to be found like this.

10 minutes of looking, Scouting and jumping later and the feeling the Hokage felt went from a subtle worry to an unrelenting rage.

Crucified, Covered in his own blood some sort of brown substance (probably poo) smears on his wounds, all manner of sword shirukin and kunai still in his body, the worst wound going from just bellow is Adam's apple to just above his pelvis. Cutting him completely vertically and exposing his internal organs. The only way they knew he was still alive was because they could literally see his beating heart. Slowing beating, but beating nonetheless.
the ring leader or who they thought was the leader of the mob of close to 300 people began to speak but before he could utter one word
someone pointed at the 5 people standing in the mouth of the clearing and said "Hokage-Sama"
but before anyone could realize the danger they were in it was too late
