Chapter 392: Dante's Trump Card
"They stayed on board to make sure the operation was a success. They sacrificed themselves to ensure Acnologia was trapped in the time rift" stated Wendy with a tearful expression. Hugging Wendy tightly, Dante could hear her cries along with the sobs of Jenny and the other members of Blue Pegasus as he started to speak.
"They saved everyone with what they did. Thanks to their sacrifice Acnologia is gone from this world" responded Dante as he continued to tightly hug Wendy. Dante thought that Ichiya and Anna would not be forgotten, they were the saviors of the entire world. Soon after Dante said these words, he heard Erza start to speak.
"What is that in the sky" asked Erza in a curious and concerned tone. Stepping back from Wendy, Dante looked in the direction that Erza was indicating. Looking into the sky, Dante felt his heart skip a beat when he saw a crack forming in the sky.
"No don't tell me. That's impossible" stated Dante in a shocked tone, hoping there was some other sort of explanation for what he was seeing. After Dante said these words, his fear was confirmed as a angry roar echoed across the sky.
"How can this be happening? The time rift was supposed to forever trap him" stated Dante in a stunned tone as he watched the crack in the sky become larger and larger. Suddenly the crack in the sky burst open, the black dragon appearing once more. Letting lose a mighty roar, Acnologia was free once more to destroy the world.
"He's really back! What do we do" asked Wendy in a worried tone as Acnologia started to charge up a roar attack. Seeing that Acnologia was about to attack, Dante swore to himself as he started to shout to everyone.
"FUCK! EVERYONE GET DOWN" yelled Dante fearing the worst. Dante and the others quickly took what little cover they could, just as Acnologia fired his attack. Luckily Acnologia wasn't aiming for Dante or the others, his attack flying some distance away. Whatever Acnologia's attack hit caused a massive tremor, even from the great distance.
"I hope that attack didn't hurt anyone or worse" stated Dante as he couldn't believe the tremors he was felling despite the attack landing somewhere far away. After Dante said these words Acnologia spread his wings wide and flew away. Standing back up along with everyone else, Dante continued to speak.
"I don't understand how this can be possible! How did Acnologia break free" asked Dante in a concerned tone.
"Acnologia absorbed the magical power of the time rift, he's able to freely move between time now" responded Anna as she walked over to Dante and the others. Turning to face Anna, Dante was at least relieved to see Anna and Ichiya were safe and unharmed. While the Blue Pegasus guild members cried with joy at the return of Ichiya, Dante started to speak to Anna.
"Acnologia absorbed the power of the time rift?! What are we going to do now" asked Dante in a concerned tone. With a sad and hopeless expression, Anna started to speak.
"There's nothing else we can do; the time rift was the only way to defeat Acnologia" responded Anna in a hopeless tone. Dante swore to himself as he heard these words, if Anna didn't have any other ideas then he would have to use his final trump card and hope that it was enough. Suddenly Dante was pulled away from these thoughts when Erza started to shout.
"Wendy what's happening to you" asked Erza in a concerned tone as Wendy started to glow with magical power. Turning his attention towards Wendy, Dante started to speak.
"Wendy! Are you okay" asked Dante in a worried tone since it was clear from the look on Wendy's face that she wasn't doing whatever was happening to her. Giving her master a scared expression, Wendy started to speak.
"I don't know what's happening" responded Wendy in a scared tone. After Wendy said these words she vanished in front of everyone. Looking around the small patch of land, Dante couldn't see Wendy anywhere as he started to speak.
"Wendy" yelled Dante in a worried tone, wanting to understand what the hell was happening. Turning his attention to Anna, Dante started to speak.
"Anna do you know what is happening? Where in the hell did Wendy go" asked Dante in a worried tone. With a tearful expression, Anna started to speak.
"Wendy was pulled into the time rift just now. Acnologia must have used his new mastery over time and space magic to pull Wendy and the other dragon slayers inside the time rift" responded Anna in a sad tone. Dante felt his heart sink at these words. Knowing that not just Wendy but his other dragon slayer friends were trapped in the time rift made Dante grit his teeth with anger as he started to speak.
"Why would he do that? Is Acnologia planning on killing them" asked Dante in a concerned tone, confused why Acnologia would pull the dragon slayers into the time rift when he was out of said time rift. Seeing the confusion on Dante's face, Anna started to speak.
"Yes Acnologia must intend to kill the dragon slayers. Right now, Acnologia is split between a physical and spiritual form. His physical form has manifested as his dragon form in our world while he remained in his human form in the time rift" responded Anna in a sad tone.
"There has to be something we can do" responded Erza, desperate to find a solution to save her friends. Reserving himself to his fate, Dante started to speak.
"We need to take down Acnologia's physical form and trust that Natsu and the others will take down Acnologia's spiritual form" responded Dante in a steady tone as he tried to take charge of the situation.
"There's nothing that can be done, Acnologia can't be beaten by conventional means" responded Anna with a hopeless expression. Turning his attention towards Anna, Dante gave her a determined look as he started to speak.
"You must not know Fairy Tail very well. In Fairy Tail we never give up if our friends and family is in danger. Failure is not an option; I refuse to give up" responded Dante in a determined tone. Knowing that he would have to catch up with Acnologia so he could use his final trump card, Dante wondered if he could catch up on his own. Suddenly the answer to Dante's internal question appeared as Mest teleported near them.
"I'm here to teleport you all to the mainland, we need to form a resistance or else Acnologia will destroy everything" stated Mest in a rushed tone. Nodding his head in understanding, Dante shouted to everyone.
"Everyone hold hands, we don't have any time to lose" shouted Dante as he took hold of Mest's hand. While everyone started to hold hands, Dante turned his attention towards Anna as she started to speak.
"How can you all still want to fight? Acnologia can't be beat" asked Anna in a hopeless tone. Giving Anna a determined look, Dante started to speak.
"We are fighting because the alternative is unacceptable. If my friends are in danger then I will do anything to keep them safe" responded Dante in a determined tone as he reach towards Anna, offering her his hand. Dante's words made Anna pause, thinking that she wanted to believe in Dante's determination. Still not knowing how they were going to possibly win against the black dragon but wanting to believe in Dante, Anna took his hand.
"Hold on everyone" shouted Mest as he channeled his magical power. Soon after saying these words Mest teleported everyone back to the mainland. Being back on the mainland, Dante looked forward and could make out Acnologia in the distance.
"Acnologia is on a direct course for Magnolia. He's going to destroy everything and everyone if we don't stop him" stated Mest. Nodding his head in understanding, Dante turned his attention towards Erza as he started to speak.
"Erza I need you to gather everyone else and make sure they are safe" stated Dante in a tone that told Erza he didn't want to argue. Giving her master a concerned look, Erza started to speak.
"And what are you going to be doing master" asked Erza, hoping that Dante's answer wasn't what she feared it would be. Giving Erza a loving smile, Dante started to speak.
"I'm going to be defending the ones I love" responded Dante with a loving smile. With a look of protest spreading across her face, Erza started to speak.
"Master I can't let you do that. You can't do this alone" responded Erza in a worried tone, tears forming in her eyes as she looked at the man she loved. Knowing that this would be the last time he spoke with Erza, Dante pulled her close to him. Pulling Erza close to him, Dante crashed his lips onto Erza's.
Pressing his lips onto Erza's, Dante enjoyed her sweet taste as he kissed her. While Erza was still worried for her master and the man she loved more than anything, she felt her worries melt away as she returned the heated kiss. Knowing that this would be the last time he kissed Erza's sweet lips, Dante imparted all of his love for her through the heated lip lock. After a short while of making out with Erza, Dante leaned back from her as he started to speak.
"Erza I have to do this. You know how much you and everyone else means to me, that I would do anything for you" responded Dante in a loving tone as he continued to hold Erza in his arms. Giving her master a worried look, Erza started to speak.
"I know that master but you can't fight Acnologia alone, he will end you" responded Erza, tears in her eyes as she begged the man she loved to not take such a huge risk. Smiling at Erza, Dante started to speak.
"Don't worry about that Erza. I have a trump card that will give me a fighting chance against Acnologia but for it to work no one I care about can be anywhere near me" responded Dante with a smile, hoping that Erza would relent and let him go. Seeing that Erza was still worried for him, Dante continued to speak.
"Erza please let me go, I have to do this" stated Dante with a loving smile as he stepped back from Erza. Still worried for the man she loved; Erza started to speak.
"Master I can't lose you" responded Erza with tears in her eyes. Smiling lovingly at Erza, Dante started to speak.
"And I can't lose you Erza, which is why I have to do this. If you are really having trouble following my request then consider it an order from the guild master" responded Dante with a warm smile as he prepared to say goodbye to Erza and the others.
"Master I" Erza started to say before she trailed off, not wanting to accept that Dante was going to fly off to face Acnologia alone. Giving Erza a serious look, Dante started to speak.
"Erza do you remember the promise you made me" asked Dante in a serious tone, hoping that one day Erza and the others could forgive him. Giving her master a curious look, Erza started to speak.
"Promise? What promis" Erza started to say before she suddenly remembered the promise that she reluctantly made with Dante. With a look of horror on her face, Erza started to speak.
"Master no, you can't ask that of me. Please don't do this" stated Erza, tears falling from her face as she begged Dante to not sacrifice himself. Smiling lovingly at Erza, Dante started to speak.
"I wish I could have lived a long life with you and the other's Erza. Tell the others that I love them and that I'm sorry" responded Dante as he channeled his magical power and transformed into his Lucifer from. Shaking from her tears, Erza started to speak.
"Master please don't do this" responded Erza, begging the man she loved to stay with her instead of flying off into certain death. Smiling lovingly at Erza, Dante started to speak.
"Sorry Erza. From the day forward you are the eighth guild master of Fairy Tail" responded Dante before he spread his wings wide and took off into the air. Using his wings, Dante flew at top speed towards Acnologia as he channeled the majority of his magical power. Channeling his magical power, Dante cast the most powerful spell from Lucifer's dark book.
"Draconic Transformation" stated Dante as he cast the dark and forbidden spell. After failing against the dragons during the dragon king festival, Dante knew that the only two things that could hurt a dragon were dragon slayers and other dragons. Knowing that this was the only option to save everyone, Dante continued to cast the spell.
"Divine Dragon of Revelation" shouted Dante as his body morphed into a large and imposing red dragon with seven heads and ten demonic horns. Flying towards Acnologia in his draconic form, Dante could already feel his sanity slipping away forever but he didn't care. If it would keep everyone safe then Dante would gladly lose himself forever. No matter what Dante would kill Acnologia.
