Chapter 1: Goodbyes and Surprises
A/N And I'm finally back! Yay! Sorry for the sort of long hiatus between this story and the last. It's just I haven't really been inspired to write lately. What has changed that is that I recently have been doing a lot of HP related stuff including getting all of the illustrated copies of the books that are out plus the MinaLima Editions of the first 2 books. I also got an HP 1000-piece puzzle of the Marauders map that I am slowly but surely making my way to finishing. So, really, I've been doing a lot of Harry Potter stuff and felt it time to revisit this because the sooner I finish this story, the sooner I get to the next stories that I am looking forward to writing. Also, another reason I put off starting this story was because I wasn't exactly sure where I wanted to start it. But after contemplation, I finally decided and now here we are. I am going to try and have several of the chapters outlined by the time I finish this chapter like I had done for the first book in this series. So, hopefully this story is updated sooner rather than later. Anyway, enjoy!
Summary: As the Hogwarts Express pulls away from platform 9 3/4 the Marauders and Lily are looking forward to their future outside of Hogwarts. The first day though, turns out much more eventful than they thought it would be.
"Wait Peter, before you go, might I suggest something?" Jasmine, or Jaz as Remus and Peter called her, asked of the group. Peter, who had started to make his way towards his parents, came back, though he hadn't gone very far.
"What is it, Jazzy?" James asked.
"Since our first Order meeting likely won't be for several days from now, I thought it would be nice to have you all over to see mine and Sirius's new house that we bought," Jaz said, glancing at Sirius, who gave her a nod and a smile. "It can be like a housewarming party. It wouldn't be for a few days, though, as we both need to go pack our stuff up and move it to the house. Plus, I wanted to spend some time with my Aunt and Uncle before I move away. So, how does that sound?"
The group agreed with Jaz's plan to meet up at their new house in about 2 days' time. They all felt a sense of excitement at the thought of seeing each other again and catching up on all that had happened since they last saw one another.
"Sounds great, Mina," Lily said.
"Me neither, Jazzy," James added, squeezing Lily's hand.
"Brilliant idea, Mare," Sirius grinned, kissing Jaz on the cheek. He couldn't wait to see what they would be doing with the place that would soon be his and Jasmine's.
"And I'll bring the drinks, Jaz," Peter added excitedly.
"And I'll bring the snacks, Jaz," Remus said with a chuckle. "As I'm sure that you won't likely have any food yet."
"That's all great. So, it's a plan. I'm sure that most of you will be able to get there by floo, so our floo location name is 'The Enchanted Home.' You'll find out why that is when you come over. It's really a rather magical house," Jasmine said. The rest of the group nodded in understanding. "Great so we will see you all at around 5/6 pm at our house in about 2 days."
As the group of six friends bid each other farewell, again, James pulls Lily into a tight embrace, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead. "I'll miss you, Lils," he whispers, holding her close. "But don't worry, I'll see you soon for our date."
Lily blushes, smiling up at James. "I'll miss you too, James. And I wouldn't miss our date for the world." She leans in, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek before they reluctantly part.
Sirius and Jasmine are also saying their goodbyes, with Sirius pulling her into a passionate kiss. "See you soon, Mare," he whispers against her lips.
Jasmine smiles, feeling her heart flutter at the thought of being reunited with her friends and boyfriend in a few days time. "I can't wait, Pads. See you soon."
Remus and Peter say their goodbyes, with Remus giving Jaz a warm hug and Peter wishing her good luck with the move. As they all soon find their parents, they say goodbye to one another one last time before departing. The 6 former Hogwarts students go off their separate ways, with a plan to see each other in a few days at Jasmine and Sirius's new house for a housewarming party. The anticipation and excitement for their reunion builds within each of them as they make their way home, ready for the next chapter in their lives to begin.
Lily and Jasmine are sitting in their shared bedroom, sorting through and packing up Jasmine's things by hand instead of using magic to cherish this time together and reminisce. During this process, Lily finds a box filled with letters that she had sent to Jaz over the years when she was still studying at Beauxbatons Academy. Jaz had kept every single one of them, which makes Lily feel warm and fuzzy inside.
As Lily flips through the letters, memories of what was happening when she wrote the letters floods back to her. Some of the letters Lily can't even believe she wrote and actually laughs at her younger self and what she was complaining about to her cousin who at the time was a country away. Jasmine laughs with her as Lily reads some of the letters aloud. As Lily made her way through all the letters, she felt a pang of sadness knowing that soon she and Jasmine would be living in separate homes once again. Jasmine noticed Lily getting emotional and put a comforting arm around her cousin's shoulder. Jasmine reminding her that no matter where they lived, they would always be family and would always be there for each other, no matter what.
Lily agrees, smiling through her teary eyes and is grateful for the reminder. They spend the next few minutes talking about their time at Hogwarts/Beauxbatons. The letters become a symbol of their close bond and the memories they have built together even if at times they were in separate countries.
They continue packing occasionally getting lost in the memories and the bittersweet feeling of Jaz leaving. It was a similar feeling to when Jasmine moved away to France when they were much younger. Although, this time instead of moving a country away, Jasmine would only be moving to another part of Britain, which in perspective is much better since it would allow Lily an easier time to visit her favorite cousin.
Just then, an owl comes tapping at the window. It's James's owl, Merlin, and they both know it. Although, since Sirius also shares the owl with James, they don't know who the letter is for until they let him in. To their slight surprise, the letter is for Lily, from James. Lily excuses herself to go read it and write a response, as Merlin was clearly waiting for one. Jasmine is left alone in the room.
While Lily is gone, Jasmine takes advantage of the opportunity to secretly pack some of Lily's belongings into boxes she had hidden under the bed. She had been doing this all morning, taking every chance she could to pack Lily's things while she wasn't in the room. Jaz was helping James with his surprise for Lily by packing her things without her cousin knowing. James had confided in her about how he bought a house for himself and Lily, and he needs Jaz's help to make sure that Lily would be packed and ready to move into the house as soon as possible. However, Jaz can only pack items that she knows Lily won't miss or at least notice were missing, otherwise Lily would suspect something was going on. Jaz hopes that Lily won't take too long to pack her own necessities once she finds out about her upcoming move.
As soon as Jaz hears Lily's footsteps, she quickly hides the boxes once again with a flick of her wand. Lily comes back into the room to find everything just as she left it, or so she thinks. Merlin then comes swooping over to Lily and she ties her response to James to his leg before he flies off again. As soon as she does, he leaves the way he came.
As Merlin flew away, Lily watched him go until he was out of sight. Then she turned back to her favorite cousin. "Now that that's taken care of, let's get back to packing." Lily picked up some more of Jasmine's things to put in a box, but Jasmine stopped her.
"Lils, what was that all about? Does James miss you already?" Jasmine asked.
Lily blushed. "Don't be ridiculous, Mina. Of course, he misses me. I'm sure Sirius misses you, too."
"Don't change the subject!" Jaz glared at her cousin. "What did James want?"
"It was nothing really, Mina. He just wanted to know if instead of having our date tomorrow afternoon if we could have it tonight instead. I figured you wouldn't mind if I said yes. It will probably be faster for you to back by yourself, anyway."
Jaz's eyes widen in surprise, "You're having your date with James tonight?!" She was a bit surprised that James had moved his timeline up so suddenly. "What for?"
"Well, James mentioned that we would be going over to your and Sirius's place tomorrow night, and he didn't want us to feel rushed tomorrow. He thought it would be better if we had our date tonight instead," Lily explained.
"Oh, I see," Jasmine said, still looking a bit confused. "I had no idea he was thinking about that. But I suppose it does make sense." They packed for a few more minutes in silence before Jasmine spoke up again, "So, just to confirm, you're having your date with James tonight?"
"Yes, that's what I said, Mina. Why? Is there something wrong with that? Di you have something else planned for us to do tonight besides just packing?" Lily asked worriedly. She knew she should have checked with Jasmine before agreeing to James's sudden change in when their date would be.
"No, nothing like that, Lils. Nothing is wrong with that." Jasmine assured Lily. "It just seems like such a sudden change. I mean you barely have enough time to get ready."
Lily laughed. She had a feeling that Jasmine was worried more about something else other than how much time she had to get ready for her date. But since Lily didn't particularly care what that might be, she decided to let it go, for now. After all, Jasmine was partially right – Lily did need to start getting ready as she still wasn't sure what she was going to wear for her date.
Lily headed over to her wardrobe, which was an old wooden one with a carved design on the front. She opened the doors and gazed at the neatly organized collection of clothes hanging inside. She started to rummage through them, trying to find the perfect outfit for her date with James. The problem was, she had no idea what to wear for her date with James tonight.
As she went through each garment, she became increasingly indecisive, and before she knew it, most of her wardrobe's contents were dumped on her bed. She groaned, feeling overwhelmed by the mess she had created. She let out another sigh and threw herself onto the bed amidst her clothes.
"Lils, what are you doing?" Jasmine asked as she entered the room.
"I can't decide what to wear tonight, Mina." Lily groaned into her pillow. "I want to look nice, but not too fancy."
Jasmine walked over to the mess of clothes on Lily's bed and picked up a dress. "How about this one? It's a beautiful shade of blue and it would match your eyes perfectly."
Lily took the beautiful blue sundress from her cousin's hands and held it up against herself. "You're right, Mina! This is perfect. Thanks for your help."
Jasmine grinned, "Of course, that's what cousins are for. Now go get ready. James will be here before you know it."
Then Lily happened to turn back to her bed, only to realize her bed was still a mess of clothes. Forgetting momentarily that she was a witch who could easily clean the mess up in a mere moments, Lily stares at the mess. "Oh, no. Look at what a mess I've made. I'm going to have to clean this up before I even think about getting ready or else I'll have nowhere to sleep tonight."
Jasmine stopped Lily before she could start to put her clothes away. "Oh no you don't. Lils, you've got to go get ready. I'll clean up the mess, you just focus on getting ready for your date." Jaz did her best to convince her cousin to leave as she had ulterior motives for offering to help as this would give Jaz the perfect excuse to start packing some of Lily's clothes in the hidden boxes.
Eventually, Lily reluctantly agreed to let Jasmine clean up the mess she had made on her bed. She started to protest, saying that Jasmine had enough of her own stuff to pack, but Jasmine was determined to help.
"Don't worry about it, Lils. I've got this." Jasmine said as she started to gather the clothes from the bed and fold them neatly, "putting" them back into the wardrobe. "You need to start getting ready for your date with James."
Lily nodded, knowing that Jasmine was right. She had a limited amount of time before James came round to pick her up, and she wanted to make sure she was ready for him. She left Jasmine to clean up the mess and headed to the bathroom to take a shower and do her hair and makeup. Jaz is extremely grateful that Lily finally left the room as now she could continue her secret packing. She quickly took out her wand and started to pack up Lily's wintery clothes.
Lily stepped into the shower and let the warm water wash over her. As she showered, Lily let her mind wander to James. She was extremely grateful for him and couldn't believe that they had already been together for 9 months. She was already missing him, even though she had just seen him just yesterday.
As Lily showered, she thought about their first time saying "I love you" to each other. She remembered how she had turned around in James' arms and told him she loved him, and how he had teased her but also told her that he loved her too before going to bed.
Lily smiled at the memory and let the warmth of the water and the thought of James comfort her as she continued with her shower.
She stepped out of the shower, towel dried her hair, and began her routine of getting ready for the date. She put on the blue sundress (one of her favorites) that Jasmine had helped picked out earlier. Then she added a touch of makeup, just enough to enhance her natural beauty. Once her makeup was done, Lily turned her attention to her hair. It was currently still wet from her shower. That was easily fixable as she took out her want and used a simple spell to blow-dry her hair to perfection and then used a curling spell to add some soft waves to her ginger hair. In order to keep her hair as it was, Lily styling spell to make sure it looked as good as new throughout the entire date.
Lily finished getting ready just in time as James was due to arrive at any minute. Just before he did, though, Lily went back to her room to grab a few things and say goodbye to Jasmine. Lily walks into he room and finds Jasmine using magic to pack now (and the boxed with Lily's things were safely hidden under the bed again). "James should be here any minute, Mina. So, how do I look?" Lily said excitedly giving a little twirl.
Jasmine looked up from her packing. "You look amazing, Lils, as always. James is a lucky guy."
Just as Jasmine finished speaking, the doorbell rang. "That must be James," said Lily, her eyes shining with anticipation. "Thank you so much for your help, Mina. I don't know what I'd do without you." Lily hugged Jasmine before quickly running out the door to meet James.
As Lily ran out of their room, Jasmine called after her. "Have a good time and don't be out too late," she said with a smile. "And remember, don't do anything I wouldn't do!" she added with a laugh. Lily rolled her eyes but couldn't help but giggle at Jasmine's joke. Her cousin was something else sometimes.
While Jasmine was busy packing, James and Lily were having a magical night out. James had decided to take Lily to this new restaurant that James's parents had raved about. They had promised it was very romantic place for wizards and witches and they were not disappointed.
As they walked into the restaurant, they were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The walls were lined with floating, flickering candles that cast a soft glow on everything around them. The flickering light added a touch of magic to the already enchanting room. They were seated at a small, intimate table, and the smell of delicious food wafted through the air, making their mouths water. They laughed and chatted as they perused the menu, which was full of many dishes that they had never heard of before. In the end, they decided to try a variety of items and they were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious, and they both agreed that they would definitely be coming back, possibly on a double date with Sirius and Jasmine.
After their meal, they decided to take a walk and enjoy the beautiful June night. They strolled hand-in-hand down the winding streets, stopping to admire the stars every once in a while. As they continued walking, they came across an ice cream cart and couldn't resist. They both got their favorite flavor and sat on a nearby bench, enjoying their treats. They talked about their childhoods, their hopes and dreams, and just about anything else that came to mind. They were lost in their own little world, completely oblivious to anything around them. Plus, the sun was setting, casting a warm golden light on the street, and the soft sounds of the street performer nearby added to the romantic atmosphere.
While they were savoring their ice cream, James was about to mention his big surprise when the atmosphere around them suddenly became dark. The couple was immediately on alert, and their conversation came to a halt. They looked around and saw that they were in a deserted area, with no signs of life or people in sight. James and Lily both took out their wands, ready for anything.
Just as they were getting uneasy, two Death Eaters appeared in front of them wearing their dark robes and hoods looking rather ominous in the darkness.
One of the Death Eater said, "James Potter and Lily Evans, we've been sent by the Dark Lord to offer you a proposal."
Not caring what the proposal was, James stated defiantly, "We're not interested."
This time the other Death Eater spoke up. He gave a dark chuckle at James's foolishness. "Oh, but you should be. He's heard of your power and wants you to join him. He could use that in his army."
"We are not joining the You-Know-Who. I won't betray my friends and my beliefs for him." Lily stated angrily. Next to her, James was nodding agreement with her statement.
Still persisting with the task that the Dark Lord had given them, the first Death Eater offered to each of them a calligraphy invites sealed with wax. "Here are your official invitations, from Lord Voldemort himself. He insists you take them." The letters were similar to what their Hogwarts letters look like, except instead of the Hogwarts crest on the seal it was the Dark Mark.
James ignored the proffered invitations, straight up refusing them. "We won't take it. We won't join you."
"I urge you to reconsider," the first Death Eater said. He'd prefer not going back to Voldemort with bad news. "He's made many exceptions, particularly for you, Mudblood." He looked right at Lily as he said the slur.
"Watch your tongue, Death Eater!" James threatened, pointing his want right at the Death Eater. The Death Eater didn't look even remotely intimidated, but it was hard to tell in the dark.
The Death Eater just ignored James and continued speaking to Lily directly. "Lord Voldemort hesitated at first, as he didn't believe a Mudblood as yourself could be as powerful as was being said. But he saw for himself, in the minds of his followers, that you are indeed powerful."
"I don't care what you say, I'm not joining your side," Lily reiterated. She had stiffened slightly at the slur, Mudblood. It brought back memories she didn't want brought upright at that moment.
"Pity. You'll regret that decision," the second Death eater said mockingly.
The Death Eaters then raised their wands, and a fierce duel breaks out between the four of them. Thankfully, both Lily and James are both skilled duelers. They were able to hold their own with the Death Eaters, exchanging curses and counter-curses with lightning speed. Although the Death Eater were powerful and dangerous, Lily and James were quite powerful. There was a reason after all why Voldemort wanted them to join him.
The intense fight lasted only a few moments before Lily and James were able to disarm and distract the two Death Eaters. Taking advantage of this opportunity, they quickly Apparated to a what they hoped was a safe location, Lily's house.
Both of them were slightly out of breath after the intensity of the situation they had just been in. Lily was the first one to break the silence though, "Do you think they would have been able to follow us?
James shook his head. "I don't think so. But we need to be careful. We can't let them find us again. Though I doubt, that Voldemort knows where we live or else he would have sent the Death Eaters after us at our homes first."
"Yes, of course. I agree. We should still be careful. We should also make sure to mention this to Dumbledore at the first Order meeting whenever that maybe," Lily said.
They look at each other, their expressions serious, but with a glimmer of hope. They had fought against the darkness and won, and they would continue to do so as long as they were together.
James and Lily walk into the house, their steps heavy as they try to shake off the tension of their recent unexpected battle. They pause just inside the door, taking a moment to catch their breath and steady themselves. With a shared look of relief, they move forward into the cozy living room. The room is a little spacious, but with its inviting aura, it feels warm and welcoming. There are a couple of comfy chairs as well as a cushioned sofa opposite of the chairs, separated by a nice small glass coffee table with a couple random books on it. A few blankets are draped over the back of the sofa, and a few decorative pillows were on either side of the sofa as well as on each of the chairs. Against the wall near the chairs and sofa, was a fireplace that was still roaring with life. It supplied the warmth and comfort both James and Lily so desperately needed right now. They both sink into the comfortable sofa, taking comfort in each other's presence as well as the silence, which didn't last long.
Since they were quite noisy coming into the house, Lily's parent's, who had come home from work several hours ago, rushed into the room to see what was causing all the commotion. They had been in the kitchen preparing tea for themselves when the couple had arrived. Upon seeing it was only Lily and James, they were initially relieved, but then they noticed the couple's demeanor and appearance, which caused them concern.
Lily's hair, despite being charmed to stay in place, was now a disheveled mess and her sundress was a wrinkled. Lily's parents also saw a couple of cuts and bruises scattered on both of Lily's arms that hadn't been there earlier that day. James, whose hair was always messy, also had few cuts and bruises on his arms, which the parents didn't recall seeing on the boy when they saw him on the platform the previous day. However, they couldn't be completely sure.
Taking in the couple's appearances, Mr. Evans spoke up. "Now what on Earth happened to you two? What kind of date was this exactly?!" Mr. Evans asked, looking James up and down suspiciously.
Lily and James still hadn't quite recovered from their encounter with the Death Eaters, so they didn't answer right away. Rather they pointed at the chairs across from them indicating that the parents needed to sit down before they discussed anything further.
Mr. and Mrs. Evans took a seat in the chairs, their faces etched with worry as they looked over at their daughter, Lily, and her date, James. It was clear something had gone wrong on their date, but the Evans could only hope it wasn't too serious. They exchanged a glance of concern before turning back to the teenagers, waiting for an explanation.
As the four of them sat in silence for a few minutes, Jasmine was still in hers and Lily's room. She was waiting for Lily to come rushing in as she had also heard the commotion at the door. Jaz had assumed it had just been Lily so she decided to ignore it in favor of finishing up her packing. Though, after several minutes when there was no sign of Lily bursting into the room with the news about the house, Jasmine got worried. So, she ventured out of the room to see what the matter was.
Jasmine made her way out of her and Lily's room and found her cousin and James sitting in the living room looking stunned and disheveled across from her Aunt and Uncle. This was not the scene she was expecting to see, as she had assumed Lily would burst into the room with news about the house. Jasmine was even more surprised to see Lily's parents there, too.
She looked back and forth between them, confusion written all over her face. "What's going on here?" she asked, her tone laced with worry, especially after she finally noticed the cuts on both James and Lily's arms. "I thought you two were going out to dinner? What happened? What's with the cuts and bruises? Where did you go?"
Jasmine was full of worry now as she decided to take a seat on the floor near Lily's legs. She didn't really want to squeeze in on the sofa with the couple as they seemed like they needed their space at the moment.
Lily and James were able to compose themselves a bit, at least enough to recount what had happened on their date. "Oh, Mina!" Lily said, looking straight at her cousin. "It was the worst thing. James and I were having a lovely time. We had a great meal and then we were taking a stroll, which ended up with us getting ice cream," she continued, her voice trailing off. "We had just finished our ice cream and were just talking, kind of in our own world. We didn't even notice how far away from town we had actually gotten when the air around us seemed to get darker."
James picked up the story from there. "We both sensed something was off and took out our wands. Then, out of nowhere, Death Eaters appeared. They said You-Know-Who wanted us to join him."
Lily interrupted, "Which was odd, considering I'm a muggle-born. But that's beside the point." Lily paused, unable to continue, and turned to James, who embraced her.
James picked up where she left off. "We obviously said no. There was no way we would join him and betray you all. They were not happy about that at all. So, we dueled the two death eaters for a bit and luckily, managed to get away. I'm sure You-Know-Who doesn't know where we live, or he would have sent Death Eaters here first. However, I don't know how safe it is here anymore. Snape knows where Lily lives, and I just know he's signed up with Voldemort given the crowd he hung out with at Hogwarts."
At that remark Lily looked up and to James asked, "Well if it is not safe here, then where are we to go?"
"Well, I meant to tell you earlier, but the Death Eaters interrupted the moment. I know how much you loved that little cottage we saw in the Prophet in Godric's Hollow. So, I bought it as a surprise, We can move in whenever you're ready" James told her with a huge grin on his face.
Lily's eyes widened with surprise. "You bought it?" she asked, disbelief in her voice. "James that's amazing." Lily's night was sure full of surprises, not all of them were good though.
Before Lily could say anything more in response, it was brought to their attention that Lily's parents were still in the room.
As Lily's parents heard the news of the attack, their faces grew pale with worry. "Attacked by Death Eaters? Oh, Lily dear," her mother said, placing a hand on her daughter's arm. "We're so relieved that you're both alright."
Lily nodded reassuringly. "Yes, Mum, I'm okay. James and I were able to defend ourselves," she said, giving James a grateful smile.
"But what if something had happened to you?" Lily's father chimed in. "We can't bear the thought of losing you, our precious daughter."
Lily took a deep breath and spoke with conviction. "I know, Dad, but there is a war going on. James and I will do everything we can to stay safe, and we have our friends to help us. And, actually, the little cottage James has bought us in Godric's Hollow is pretty safe. We'll b be able to start our new life together there." What Lily wasn't telling them was for their own good. She didn't want to worry her parents more by telling them she join the Order of the Phoenix and was going to fight against Voldemort and his followers. So, she might end up dead, but that is the price one pays when they fight in a war.
Then, Lily turns back over to James and hugs him fiercely. Pulling back Lily says gratefully, "I would love to move into that cottage with you. When we first saw it in the prophet, I secretly felt like it was the perfect place for us. That had been one of my favorite places that we had glanced out." Lily kissed him shortly before turning her attention back to the room.
Before anyone says anything more, Lily comes to the sudden realization that she needs to now pack up all her stuff. So, without further explanation, Lily rushes to her and Jaz's room only to see that most of it had already been packed away in boxes. The floor in the room had boxes scattered across it and she was just amazed at the scene before her.
Lily turned around to go ask Jasmine what was going on, only to find Jaz in the doorway. She pulled her cousin into a big hug and whispered in her ear, "Thank you so much, Mina." Lily pulled back and asked. "Mina how did you manage to get all of this done in the few short hours that I was out with James. I mean you've managed to pack most of my stuff and yours as well as label the boxes. This is amazing."
Jasmine gave Lily a look that said, 'come on, really?' before responding. "Lils, I was secretly packing your stuff away all day. James told me about his plan, so I used magic to pack whenever you were out of the room. I alternated between packing your stuff and mine and labeled the boxes. There are quite a lot of boxes, and I didn't want you taking my stuff to your new place with James. It's not exactly nearby where Sirius and I are going to be living."
Lily hadn't even thought about how far apart her, and Jasmine would be living now. Sure, she was aware that Jasmine and her would be living in different parts of England, but she didn't really think about just how far away Jasmine would be. "Oh my god, Mina. How far apart exactly are you and Sirius going to be from James and me? It's not as far as we were before it?"
"Oh god no, Lils. We'll be much closer than that" Jasmine reassured. "We will still be in England. What I meant was that we won't be right around the corner from each other, but with you moving to Godric's Hollow, we'll be much closer than we would be when if you still lived here in Cokeworth."
Lily smiled, glad that she wouldn't be so far away from her cousin again. After all the girl was her best friend and favorite cousin, Lily didn't know what she would do with out Jasmine. "That's good. I'm glad you will be at least some close to us."
"Yeah. Plus, it's not like we won't be able to see each other. It will be easily traversable to get to each other either by floo or even by just apparating. Don't you worry one bit abou not seeing me or only seeing me once a year like it used to be. You'll end up seeing me so much that you'll be sick of me if you aren't already." Jasmine laughed and soon Lily joined in.
The two girls were now sitting on the floor of the room filled with boxes laughing like they didn't have a care in the world when James came into the room. "I see you two are having a good time. Mind if I join?"
The girls stopped laughing and looked up at James. "Sure, Prongs. You can help us finish packing. I don't have much left but there are few little items I haven't gotten to yet."
James grimaced. This was not exactly what he had in mind when he asked if he could join. He still helped, even if he wasn't too happy about it. And with his help the little packing that there was still left to do was completed in no time. Plus, it gave James and excuse to make sure that Lily was okay after how their date ended earlier.
Eventually, James needs to leave. After he leaves though, the girls stay up a bit longer reminiscing about their childhood and past memories that they've shared in that very room. It was basically a sleepover for likely the last time since they would no longer be sharing a room after tonight. Tomorrow Jasmine would be moving her things to her and Sirius's new house in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England. They were about to embark on the next part of their adventure post-Hogwarts, and they were excited to see what the future had in store for them.
A/N Well I did it. I wrote the first chapter. And by the time I post this chapter. I should have at least the second possibly the 3rd chapters also written. I'm planning on having at least and outline for several more chapters complete in the coming days. Anyway, I was really more inspired to write this chapter not only because of the aforementioned reasons but also because my brother told me about this chatbot called ChatGPT that has really helped me flesh out my ideas. And now I'm a bit addicted to asking it things. Plus, it really makes my research go a whole lot faster. It is really fabulous. So, maybe I will be able to get chapters out faster, that is if I have the time.
Love You All,
