"The Great Furry Rescue!"
The next morning, Anne woke up and saw Domino staring at her. "I had the craziest dream last night. You could talk, and were these three stones that fused me, Sasha and Marcy together, and we had superpowers…"
"It was not a dream." Domino said.
"Oh, crap, it really happened." Anne moaned.
"Yes, it did. I know this a lot to take in, but it is your destiny to keep this world safe by becoming the hero you are meant to be."
"Ugh. Do we have to?" Anne mumbled. Domino scratched her arm. "What was that for?!"
"Don't get sassy with me! You are gonna be a hero, and you are gonna like it!" the now-talking cat ordered. Anne just got dressed, had breakfast and went to school.
Meanwhile, in a secret location, Daniel opened his eyes and sat up. "What happened?"
"I don't know, but I can't seem to remember a thing." Bryan added.
"I'll tell you what happened." said a voice. The boys looked up and saw a strange, unfamiliar creature dressed in a lab coat.
"Who are you?" asked Jordan.
"What are you, and why are we in this cage?" Daniel asked when he noticed.
"My name is Dr. Frakes." the stranger said. "I am a human, and you are in my laboratory!"
"Human? I've never heard of that species before." Jordan said. "Have you?"
"No." the others answered.
"You three are the first interdimensional beings I've ever encountered." Dr. Frakes continued. "Last night, a powerful energy surge opened a portal between our dimensions. You must have sensed the smell of my dinner and followed it through."
"Are there lots of humans in this world?" Bryan wondered.
"Over 7 billion of them." Dr. Frakes said. "We are the dominant species here."
"What about other animals?"
"Other animals are weak and less important. They exist only to serve us!" Dr. Frakes shouted. "You are nothing but my captives, and you will be the first interdimensional beings for me to experiment on!"
"Animals aren't slaves to each other! LET US GO!" Bryan growled.
"No chance! Get comfortable, you'll be here a while." Dr. Frakes then called for her assistant. "Terri! Serve these beasts their breakfast."
"Yes, doctor." A young female human with blue hair opened the cage door, and tossed steaks into it.
"What is this stuff?" Daniel asked.
"You eat this, right?" Terri said.
"Eeewww!" Jordan was grossed out. "This is from other mammals! Where we come from, we don't eat each other."
"Sorry, but that's what nature selected for you." Terri told him. "And I gotta follow orders." She left the lab.
"I don't like this." Bryan said.
"Me either." Daniel replied. "We gotta get outta here."
At St. James Middle School, Anne was talking to her friends about last night's events.
"It was totally crazy!" Twig said. "You just became a three-headed superhero!"
"That was the freakiest thing I've ever seen!" Molly added. "My mind is blown!"
"And it wasn't a dream." Sasha said. "That's the really freaky part."
"It's a dream come true!" Marcy squeed. "I even drew a picture!" She held it up. The trio was flying over the city skyline.
"What's important is that we don't tell anyone about this. We don't want to draw unwanted attention." Anne warned.
"You got it, Anna Banana." Marcy said. "Secret identities are everything."
"Good. The better we lay low, the safer everyone will be." Anne told her friends. They went to class, but the thought of last night was on their minds.
But during lunch, as they sat down to eat, the girl's gems began to glow faintly. They all heard Domino speaking to them through long-distance telepathy.
"There are others with the same powers. They come from another world, but they are currently being held prisoner in the science center. You must rescue them."
"Our first mission! Let's go!" Marcy grabbed Anne and Sasha's hands, and dragged them into the girls' locker room. They morphed right away, and flew out through the ceiling. Their friends followed them on foot out the door.
Over the city streets, the trio were struggling to get the hang of their new abilities.
"Will you not make us fly so fast?" Anne begged.
"And quit causing us to lean to one side!" Sasha added. "This is still new to us!"
"I can't help it! We're gonna be the best heroes in all of L.A.!" Marcy was too ecstatic for her own good. Suddenly, they lost their balance, and crashed into a brick wall. They broke through it into an apartment. The tenants were very surprised at the intruders.
"Who the heck are you?!" one asked.
Marcy made them get up. "Fear not, good citizens. We are the newest crime fighter in Los Angeles! Call us…Calamity Trinity!"
"Oh, we're gonna call someone alright. The po-po!" the tenant yelled. The girls quickly flew away.
"So much for a good first impression." Anne said.
"Calamity Trinity, Mar-Mar?" Sasha asked. "That's almost like a supervillain team."
"Hey, when people see us use our powers to help them, we'll be treated like real heroes." Marcy told her besties. Then all three felt a wave of energy like their own.
"The science center is that way!" Anne made them turn in that direction, but not knowing how to stop, they crashed into the roof.
"Smooth landing." Sasha said sarcastically.
Inside the lab, Daniel and his friends heard the thud. "What was that?" Bryan asked.
"Someone must be on the roof." Jordan said. "Maybe they've come to help us."
"Who would help us if they don't know we exist?" Bryan said. Just then, his fur began to glow red. "What's happening to me?!"
"Look at my fur! It's blue!" Daniel said. "And Jordan's is green!"
Dr. Frakes and Terri came into the lab. "Fascinating!" Dr. Frakes said. "I must dissect these creatures and see the cause of this strange bioluminescence!"
Terri couldn't believe what she heard. "Are you insane?! We can't harm these beings! They're as intelligent as we are!"
"Do as you're told or you're fired!" Dr. Frakes ordered. But Terri stood her ground.
"No, I've put up with your bossiness long enough. I QUIT!" she yelled.
"Fine, I'll do it myself!" But before the mad doctor could grab her tools, the ceiling above her caved in. When the dust settled, there were Anne, Sasha, and Marcy.
"What the…?!" Dr. Frakes asked in shock. Daniel and his friends were equally surprised.
"I didn't know humans could look like that!" Bryan said.
"Normally we don't." Anne said. "Wait, you're a talking wolf!"
"No duh! Are you going to get us out or not?" Daniel asked.
The girls approached the cage when a sudden energy surge filled the bodies of the three anthro carnivores. The cage burst apart without being touched!
"Whoa! Did we just do that?" Sasha asked.
"It would seem we have the same powers." Jordan said. The girls looked at the gems on their breastplate, which glowed in the same colours as the boys' fur.
"I don't know what this means, but I like it!" Daniel said. He stood up, and glared at Dr. Frakes. "I got news for you, crazy lady. You picked the wrong preds to mess with." He jumped towards her and punched her right in the face!
"I can't believe you just did that!" Bryan shouted. "You would never hit a girl!"
"I guess this is an exception." Daniel said. The girls knew that they had to help these superpowered talking animals.
"How about we teach this mad scientist a lesson?" Anne suggested. The others agreed, and charged forward!
Jordan suddenly made several objects float with his mind, and threw them at Dr. Frakes. "I've got telekinesis? No way!"
Bryan grabbed a large object, and the muscles in his arms got huge! "I'm super strong." He threw it, and it crashed through the wall into the exhibit hall.
"Good thing we're closed to the public today." Terri said. Daniel then leapt through the hole. Glaring at the evil scientist, he got down on all fours, and took a deep breath.
"RRROOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!" The powerful roar shook the whole building. Dr. Frakes was blown through another wall onto the street. The six (or four) superpowered beings faced her.
Anne then suddenly made a huge tennis racket out of pure energy appear in the girls' hands. "We can make stuff out of energy? This is actually kinda cool!" she said. They floated towards the doctor.
"Uh, can we talk about this?" Dr. Frakes asked nervously.
"No chance." Marcy said. The girls held up the racket.
"SERVICE!" WHACK! Dr. Frakes was sent flying over the horizon.
"You haven't seen the last of me!" she yelled as she disappeared. Just then, Twig and the others showed up.
"What'd we miss?" Brodie asked. They saw the animals.
"And I thought last night was crazy." Haddie said. The group noticed the crowd that had gathered around them.
Daniel stepped forward. "Okay, before you start running around in total panic, let me explain." He never got the chance, because Terri drove up in her car and pulled him and the others inside.
"What's that for?" he asked.
"We can't have you releveling yourself in public." Marcy told him. "That's Superhero 101!"
"And I gotta take you somewhere where people won't bother us." Terri added. She drove to the abandoned warehouse district. Everyone got out and went inside one.
"We should be safe here." Just then, the girls and animals powered down. The girls split apart again.
"So, you are not really three sisters joined at birth." Bryan said.
"No, but we are best friends!" Marcy smiled.
"Can somebody please explain what's going on here?" Daniel asked. Then Domino showed up.
"I will." She told them everything.
"So, when these gems fell onto this Earth, they gave you superpowers." Bryan said.
"And when you fused, it opened a portal to our world that we traveled through." Jordan added.
"And we did, we got powers as well. This is a lot to take in." Daniel finished.
"That's the whole story in a nutshell." Anne said.
"Ms. Guardian, is it? Why did we get powers like them?" Jordan asked.
"Because you three have a friendship dynamic that mirrors theirs in a similar way." Domino said. "Jordan, like Marcy, you are wise and use your knowledge to help others. Daniel, your big heart is like Anne's, you care about others and put them before yourself. And Bryan, your strength and leadership are like Sasha's in that you take charge in any situation."
"Can we fuse like them?" Bryan asked.
"No. Only those who wield the gems can, and they must be the same species." Domino said.
"Wow, we're all superpowered. Something tells me we should use these for good and help humans." Daniel said. "And Terri, you'll find a way to get us back to Zootopia, right?"
"It will take time, but I will get you home." she said. "In the meantime, you can stay with me."
"This is exciting times a million!" Marcy shouted. "Now there are two teams of heroes to protect the city!"
"Being heroes actually sounds amazing." Jordan said. Daniel and Bryan agreed.
"So, what shall we call ourselves?" Bryan said.
"Well, we're predators, there are three of us, and we showed we can be a powerful fighting force. How does Preda-Force 3 sound?" Daniel suggested.
"Calamity Trinity and Preda-Force 3. I like the sound of that!" Sasha said. All six new friends did hands and paws in the middle. A new alliance was formed and ready to save the world!
