Chapter 4

Meanwhile, the heroes were now venturing deep inside the vast underground sewer tunnels as they were tip-toeing carefully along the narrow walkways. Katie was eyeing the dark and murky green sewage waters while flattening herself against the wall.

"Ugh! That water looks so disgusting! And it smells!" she grimaced, scrunching up her nose.

"Just as long as you don't fall in, you should be fine," Jasmine retorted pointedly.

"Thanks a lot, Captain Obvious," Katie retorted with an eye roll.

"How much further, Shirley?" Matt asked as Shirley checked her scanning and tracking device.

"We still got a long way to go, but we are definitely heading in the right direction," Shirley replied.

Just then, Luthor froze up in terror as he sensed a pair of eyes watching him with a large, shadowy figure concealing itself in the sewage water.

"Don't look now but I think we got company," he whimpered with wide, fearful eyes.

Just then a crocodile lunged right out of the water with a loud roar as the kids scattered for cover with terrified cries.

"RUN!" Inez yelled.

Several more crocodiles then slithered out of the water as they began to pursue and chase their prey eagerly. The kids then stopped right at the end of the tunnel as they looked down and realized that there was a long, steep drop to the murky sewage waters below.

"What do we do?!" Luthor wailed in a fearful, panicked voice.

"We're going to have to jump," Andrew proposed.

"What? Are you crazy?" B.J. gawked incredulously at him.

Andrew then glanced back to see the crocodiles advancing towards them rapidly with snarls and hisses.

"I don't think we have a choice, B.J. We're going to have to jump if we have any hope of making it out of here," he informed her sternly.

"All right; I trust you," B.J. retorted with a deep, reluctant sigh.

"All right; on the count of three… one, two… three!" Andrew yelled as everyone leaped off the edge and dove straight into the water.

Moments later, Rhonda emerged out of the water with a loud gasp as she started to scream and flail her arms about wildly.

"Help! Help! Somebody help! I can't swim!" she yelled.

Then before anyone realized what was happening, they were all suddenly being swept away by the currents as they were being dragged wildly and haphazardly through the never ending winding tunnels. Mariah and Cassie held on to each other tightly as they did their best to swim as far away from the crocodile as possible.

"Hang on!" Cassie screamed.

"I'm scared!" Mariah wailed as the crocodile snapped at her, causing her to scream shrilly in fear.

"Hang on, you guys! I'm going to get you out of here!" Digit cried as Matt, Inez and Jackie were clinging desperately to his feet for dear life.

"Hurry!" Inez whined, feeling her grip slipping little by little.

Katie was also flailing and kicking her legs wildly as she fought and struggled to stay afloat.

"Help! Help! Somebody help!"

Then just as one of the crocodiles was about to pounce on her and maul and tear her to shreds, Jasmine then jumped in and fired a massive blue energy beam from her hands as it tore right through its head, causing it to slump and sink into the water bellow. Katie then gawked in awe at Jasmine's astounding and incredible act of bravery.

"Jasmine, how did you…?" she stammered.

"Come on, this way!" Jasmine urged her as she grabbed her hand and pulled her to safety.

Meanwhile, Rhonda was still struggling to stay afloat as she noticed Growlmon floating up to her while carrying Andrew and B.J. on his back.

"Andrew?" Rhonda gasped heavily, still kicking and thrashing furiously.

"Grab my hand," Andrew hollered as he reached out his hand towards her and Rhonda immediately accepted.

Within minutes, Andrew pulled her out of the water as Rhonda collapsed onto her chest, coughing and sputtering.

"You okay, Rhonda?" B.J. inquired with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, I'm fine now thanks to you," Rhonda answered with a relieved and grateful smile.

"Gabumon, digivolve to… Garurumon!" Gabumon cried as an aura of bright white light enveloped him and he changed into a brand new advanced form.

Garurumon then let out a resounding, deep roar as he charged straight at one of the crocodiles.

"Body Blow!" he growled as he tackled the reptilian monster before knocking it straight into the air with his head.

"Howling Blaster!" Garurumon roared as he released a huge burst of high temperature, blue flames from his mouth, sending the crocodile flying back several feet.

"Biyomon, digivolve to… Birdramon!" Biyomon cried as she also transformed into a more advanced form.

Birdramon then flew around in circles briefly before letting out a shrill cry with flames erupting from her body.

"Fire Flap!" she roared as her entire body went up in flames before she lunged at another one of the crocodiles and tackled him to the ground.

She then did a backwards twist in midair before turning back to face her foes.

"Meteor Wing!" Birdramon cried as she shot out a volley of flaming feathers at some of the other crocodiles as they hurtled into the air like meteors.

In a matter of minutes, the feathers struck the crocodiles dead on as they were completely incinerated and burned to a crisp.

"Yeah, we did it!" Maxie cheered.

"Armadillomon, digivolve to… Ankylomon!" Armadillomon yelled as he also transformed into his new form.

He then swung his tail and rushed right at another one of the crocodiles.

"Tail Hammer!" he exclaimed as he proceeded to beat and throttle the crocodile violently with his tail; at one point, he even slams the iron sphere tip of his tail into its jaw, smashing out some of its teeth into pieces.

Yuki also cast some fire spells from her Keyblade as she knocked a couple more crocodiles away, with one of them even crashing straight into the wall.

Finally the heroes made it to another nearby tunnel as they swam over to it and climbed inside. Birdramon then launched a massive ball of flames from her mouth while Garurumon spewed out another burst of high temperature blue flames from his mouth and Yuki released a huge gust of wind from her Keyblade.

"Fireball!"

"Howling Blaster!"

"Wind!"

The resulting combined attacks then blew the remaining crocodiles away as they were knocked back several feet and disappeared into the horizon. Yuki then lowered her Keyblade slowly as she let out a deep, relieved sigh.

"Thank God that's over."

"Yeah," Shirley nodded. "Now come on; we got to go this way."

She then beckoned everyone to follow her as they all headed deeper into the tunnel.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Beatrice was lying in bed as she was groaning and whimpering in pain.

"How far along is she, doctor?" Harold asked as he looked on at his wife worriedly.

"Just a little bit more, Mr. Buchanan," the doctor answered as he examined Beatrice. "She needs to be dilated at least 10 centimeters before she's ready to push."

"Where the hell is Rhonda? She's going to miss out on the birth of her own sister!" Beatrice exclaimed angrily.

"Don't worry, love; I'm going to call Rebecca straightaway and see what the hell is going on," Harold reassured her calmly.

He then walked out of the room and stood near the doorway before taking out his cell phone and dialing a number. After waiting a few minutes, he got a response.

"Harold, what a nice surprise; it's so good to hear from you," Rebecca greeted him coolly.

"Rebecca, it's an emergency. My wife is in the hospital right now and she's currently in labor. If you find Rhonda, tell her to come home straightaway. I don't know how much longer this can wait," Harold informed her as he flinched at the sounds of his wife's blood-curling screams.

"Don't worry; Harold. I'll find Rhonda and get her home as soon as possible. As a matter of fact, we're on our way to make some arrests in Germany," Rebecca reassured him gently.

"All right then; be careful. Bye," Harold sighed and then he hung up.

He then turned around to see Beatrice breathing and panting heavily while still clutching her belly tightly.

Meanwhile, Rhonda and the others arrived at a large circular area in one of the deepest parts of the sewer as they came face to face with Maleficent and her allies. Messina then snickered evilly with a conniving glint in her eye as some of the rats scowled and glared at them. Buzz and Delete cracked and rubbed their knuckles together while smirking derisively.

"Well, well, well; I didn't think you kids would actually show," Hacker cackled while rubbing his hands in anticipation.

"Where's Lucky?" Inez demanded with an akimbo.

Jeannie and Akiho then brought over Lucky to them as she was tied and gagged. Lucky then whimpered and trembled softly while looking on at the heroes in fear.

"But first, the Shadow Stone," Maleficent said with her hand outstretched.

"Fine, here's the bloody stone," Rhonda rolled her eyes as she walked over to Maleficent and handed her the Shadow Stone. "Now will you let Lucky go?"

Maleficent then let out a devilish cackle at Rhonda's response.

"I don't think so."

"What?!" Katie's jaw dropped in astonishment and disbelief as Randall suddenly teleported over to a female red kitten named Yoyo and grabbed her before slinking away.

"Hey, let me go! Let me go, you ugly lizard!" Yoyo yelled as she squirmed and thrashed in Randall's grip.

"Freeze, assholes!" Rebecca yelled as she and her colleagues stormed into the area with guns drawn.

Rebecca then rushed over to Rhonda and grabbed her as she pulled her aside.

"Come on, Rhonda; we have to go right now. There's a spaceship waiting for you. Your mom is in the hospital and she's getting ready to have the baby."

"But what about the others?" Rhonda frowned.

"Don't worry; they'll be fine," Rebecca answered calmly, caressing Rhonda's hair. "Now come on; your mom wants you to be there to meet your little sister."

"Okay," Rhonda nodded uncertainly and the two women quickly made their exit.

Then just as Rhonda and Rebecca left, the ceiling opened up as a ladder came down and all of the villains climbed up on it before being whisked away.

"So long, losers!" Buzz laughed.

"Yeah, better luck next time!" Delete cackled.

"After them!" Esther yelled shrilly as she and the rest of the heroes rushed into another tunnel in a desperate attempt to catch up with their adversaries.

A short time later, the heroes finally made their way back into the spaceship just as the helicopter carrying all of the villains took off into the skies.

"We better hurry or we're going to lose them!" Agent Forsythe fretted.

"Not to worry," Esther smirked confidentially as she settled into the pilot's seat and turned on the power button before pulling down the lever. Then as the spaceship roared to life, she started to pull down the throttle as the engines kicked off and the spaceship started its rapid ascent.

Then once the heroes were finally in the air, they advanced over to where the enemy helicopter was as they prepared to make their move.

"Ugh, why won't these losers quit?" Randall groaned while clutching his head in frustration.

"Hurry; we better shake them!" Pete yelled.

"All right then; let's see what we got here," Esther smirked evilly as she pushed a couple of buttons and multiple red circles appeared on the screen before locking in on the helicopter with the words, "TARGET ACQUIRED."

"Now!" Esther yelled as she pushed another button and a barrage of long range homing missiles flew right at the helicopter before striking it on its right side, causing it to shake and rock unsteadily.

"What the hell?" Yzma balked as she stumbled briefly while glancing down at the ground.

"All right then; if these meddling kids want to play games, then let's play," El Supremo declared with a maniacal gleam in his eyes as he poked out of the doorway and aimed his bazooka before firing it at the spaceship.

The heroes then let out a terrified scream as they performed a dodging spin and narrowly avoided the missile.

"Okay, that's it! Let me take the wheel!" Yzma demanded as she marched up to the cockpit and grabbed the steering wheel before pivoting the helicopter right in the direction of the spaceship.

"Let them rip!" Yzma declared with a dastardly cackle as she then proceeded to shoot at the spaceship with a machine gun.

The bullets then shredded through the front of the spaceship, leaving large gaping holes on the exterior, with some of them piercing the front window, causing multiple small cracks to form in the glass. The kids then ducked for cover in order to avoid being hit by the flying bullets.

Esther then launched several more homing missiles at the helicopter as Yzma narrowly dodged them and fired the machine gun once again, prompting Esther to dodge it. El Supremo then fired another missile from his bazooka as Esther performed another dodging spin to avoid it. For the next several minutes, the two aircrafts continued to exchange fire as neither of them was able to get a clear shot of the other.

Finally, in a fit of frustration, Yzma takes out a small green spider-like device and puts it into her bazooka before firing it at the spaceship. Then once it landed on the spaceship, it latches onto the exterior before giving off a rapid green hue and detonating altogether, releasing a huge burst of electricity. Esther then screamed as the spaceship rocked and shuddered violently from the blast and loud, high-pitched sirens began to ring in the air.

"WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! THIS SPACESHIP IS NOW OPERATING AT 89% CAPACITY!"

"Oh no, what do we do now?" Luthor frowned.

"Ha, ha, ha! I got it!" Yzma shrieked in triumph as she fired even more green spider-like devices at the spaceship; they then landed on the front of the spaceship and quickly detonated into bigger bursts of electricity, causing even more significant damage.

"WARNING! WARNING! NOW OPERATING AT 55% CAPACITY!"

"Do something! We're going to crash!" Katie cried in a panicked voice.

"I'm trying, Katie!" Esther shot back as she was desperately pressing several buttons with the sirens continuing to go off. "Shit! Everything's fried!"

Just then a black shadow flew over the helicopter as everyone looked around to see where it went.

"Uh, is it me or am I seeing things?" Kronk asked the group sheepishly.

Just then a bright blue energy ball slammed right into the helicopter as large fumes of black smoke started to spew out of the back; the helicopter then stopped flying and stalled briefly before it dropped and started its rapid and harrowing descent to the ground.

"May Day, May Day! We're going down!" Iago hollered as the helicopter kept on spiraling and plummeting down towards the ground with the villains' panicked and frightened cries echoing in the air along with a lingering trail of black smoke. Moments later, there was a loud, thundering crash accompanied by a fiery explosion.

"Jeannie! No!" Andrew cried in a horrified, stricken voice as he watched the helicopter engulf itself in flames. "No…"

"Is she dead?" B.J. whispered, not wanting to know the answer.

"I… I don't know…" Andrew stammered, his gaze faltering. "She might have escaped somehow. Or at least I hope so."

"We better go down there and examine the wreckage just to confirm that there are indeed no survivors," Esther sighed, hanging her head sadly over the console.

"Sounds good," Shirley nodded.

A few minutes later, the spaceship landed on the ground as the gang headed over to the crash site, but to their surprise, there didn't seem to be anyone there!

Yuki also began to dig through the rubble furiously in a desperate search for any survivors, but to her dismay she didn't find any.

"Impossible; there should be some bodies lying around here. I don't see any," she frowned.

"They must have made an escape right before the helicopter crashed," Mariah speculated.

"Sounds logical to me," Agent Hawthorne shrugged.

"Madame Director, if you don't mind, I'm going to file an incident report with Mr. Manning when we get back to London," Agent Forsythe informed Esther.

"Go on right ahead, Agent Forsythe; I have a feeling that Jack is going to want to know how in the hell we managed to screw up this whole mission in the first place," Esther sighed while running her hand through her face.

"I better get back home right away; Mom's probably worried about me and she might also want to know what happened with Jeannie," Andrew said.

"Yeah, I also need to take Lucas and Maxie back home with me too," B.J. nodded.

"All right then; I'm going to call somebody to help us fix up the ship and then we should be home in no time," Agent Forsythe announced as he whipped out his cell phone in order to make an emergency call.

"This is going to take a while," Jasmine grumbled as she shot a withering glare at Katie.

Meanwhile, back in London, Rhonda and Rebecca rushed into the hospital lobby as they met up with Harold, who was waiting for them.

"Oh thank God! You're here just in the nick of time!" Harold breathed a sigh of relief. "Congratulations, pumpkin. You're now a big sister again."

"Really?" Rhonda's eyes widened in awe.

"Yes; Mum really wants to see you," Harold nodded as he gestured for the women to follow him. "Now come along; she's waiting."

Rhonda nodded as she, Rebecca and Harold headed to Beatrice's room.

As soon as they arrived, Rhonda was surprised to see Abigail, Gregory and Gregory's new wife Lena huddled around Beatrice's bed. Lena was an elderly Black woman with light brown skin, dark black eyes, a round, pronounced and heavyset face, short, black, curly hair and a large, voluptuous and shapely build.

"Hello, darling; so good to see you," Gregory smiled tenderly at her.

"Poppa Gregory!" Rhonda beamed as she rushed over to hug him with open arms.

"Hello, darling," Lena greeted Rhonda in a thick Caribbean accent as she also walked over to hug her too. "How is your adventure?"

"Good," Rhonda answered.

She then broke from their embrace and sauntered over to Beatrice, who also greeted her with a hug.

"Hello, Rhonda; meet your new sister," Beatrice smiled weakly as she showed her a tiny pink bundle.

Rhonda then peered down to see a newborn baby girl with tiny wisps of dark black raven hair and pale azure eyes like her father. She smiled as she cradled her tenderly.

"Hey there, Sybille; I'm Rhonda. I'm going to be the best big sister you've ever had."

Sybille cooed softly as she gazed up at Rhonda curiously.

The adults cooed and awed at the newborn baby with tenderness and love as they all rejoiced together in this special and precious moment.

Meanwhile, back in Hollow Bastion, Jeannie was sleeping in her room when suddenly she heard a soft female voice call out to her.

Jeannie… Jeannie… Jeannie…

Jeannie then opened her eyes with a start as she looked around with a confused and befuddled face.

"Huh? What's going on?"

Jeannie, come to Mother. Your Mother is waiting for you.

"What?"

Your Mother is waiting for you.

Your Mother is waiting for you.

Your Mother is waiting for you.

It was then that Jeannie's demeanor suddenly changed as she fell into a deep and hypnotic trance. She then slowly marched out of the room with a blank and emotionless face as a green willow o' wisp materialized out of nowhere and led her away.

As she continued to walk through the empty and desolate hallways, the mysterious female voice continued to speak to her.

Your Mother is waiting for you.

Your Mother is waiting for you.

Your Mother is waiting for you.

Your Mother is waiting for you.

Eventually after a short while, Jeannie arrived at an empty, dark room with a black cauldron sitting before her. The Shadow Stone was levitating above the black cauldron while emitting a dark purplish black hue.

Yes, Jeannie; touch the stone. It will give you all the power you need. You will be the most powerful person in the whole universe. You won't have to worry about being neglected, ignored or shunned ever again. You can use that power to destroy every single person that has turned their back on you, including that wretched brother of yours. All you have to do is accept this great power and let it consume you. Accept your destiny.

Jeannie then walked over to the black cauldron and reached out for the Shadow Stone before grabbing it; the moment that she did so, a pair of shadows emerged from the stone as they flew into Jeannie's body. Jeannie then shuddered and convulsed violently for a few moments before her body started to radiate a black shadowy aura. Her eyes glowed a red hue briefly as she let out an evil, maniacal cackle.

Just then, Riku barged into the room as he gawked at her with a mortified face.

"Jeannie, what the hell are you doing? You're not supposed to mess with that thing!"

"Get a load of this, Riku," Jeannie smirked evilly in a dark, demonic voice as she held out her hand and made a waving motion; within moments, Riku was flung straight into the air as he found himself suspended and frozen in place, unable to move. He then struggled to break free from Jeannie's telekinetic grip but it was no use.

"What the hell do you think you're doing? I'm supposed to be your friend, remember?" Riku demanded.

"You're not my friend; you're just an obstacle that needs to be disposed of. You're not going to stop me from ruling this world! Out of my way!"

She then made another waving motion, prompting Riku to fall right to the ground with a groan. He glanced up to see Jeannie levitating in the air as more shadows began to circle around her rapidly with her eyes glowing a bright red hue.

"This world is mine! I won't let anyone else stop me, even if it means destroying that worthless older brother of mine and that whiny little brat Rhonda and her motley crew of dorks!"

Jeannie then began to cackle maniacally and diabolically as more shadows began to envelope around her with even more intensity and speed and it wasn't long before everything turned completely black.

TO BE CONTINUED…

The End.
