Kurai covered Hide as explosions ripPED apart the city. Buildings collapse to the ground.

"Everyone... Everyone... Disappearing." The sea crashes around them. "The world... is ending..."

Kurai dropped to her knees, tears in his eyes.. "Kaneki... Kaneki...! Only you kept me alive... And I couldn't protect you...!"

"Kuri..." Hide said. "Can't we do anything!? Everything will be destroyed. I... I just wanted to protect my friends! That was all!"

A point of light appeared in the center of the Infinity Delta. It rose up into the air, clearing everything away. A figure lay inside the sphere of light.

"Kuri...!" Yukio calls. "Is that!?"

Kuri opened her eyes, eyes glowing.

The others all looked up.

Kuri looked at himself. "I...?"

"Attack! Attack!" the monster said. "To this world! Reduced to being drawn by gravity to the darkness of the graveyard! Our home of death!"

"It's beautiful," said Kaneki. "The suffering of the moment of destruction. Now! Right away! The guide to death will lead to the world of silence and nothingness! You'll DIE for hurting them!"

"Death!?" Kuri said. "Like this, we'll be drawn to the end together!"

"Oh no!" Hide thought. "Together!?"

"I don't feel despair," Kaneki said. "Along with death, there is always hope and rebirth. You will cause that, Kuri.", indicating that although he himself can bring death and destruction, Kuri is the one who could bring back life and rebirth.

"Kaneki...!"

"Kuri, because you opened up your power and saved me, you can save this world."

"Kaneki!"

His eyes darkened. "Hurry!"

Kuri wiped her eyes and raised her sword, killing the dragon. "I'm sorry…I'm so sorry! Kaneki!"

Kaneki smiled as he slowly faded into it. The dragon slumped, and died.

"Kaneki!" Hide yelled.

Kuri stared into the sky.

"Along with death... Hope and rebirth begin."

The people began to wake.

They heard a cry from below. "Someone is…"

Kuri ran to the sound. She found Kaneki lying there naked, and threw her jacket over him.

"Kaneki?" Hide said.

"He's alive...?" sobbed Kuri. "I'm so sorry, Ken…so sorry…"

"Hey…" He put a hand on hers. "I like that…you called me by name…"

"Aw damn…" Hide wiped his eyes. "I promised I wouldn't cry…"

Kuri and Kaneki ignored him.

Kuri leaned down and whispered. "I love you Ken."

"And I love you." Kaneki said softly.

The two kissed.

"The world is going to be different now…" Hide said. "Those things the dragon created…the dragon itself…the ghouls and humans had to unite to stop them…"

"Yes…everything is different…" Kuri said. "And its all—"

"Thanks to you." Kaneki said firmly. "I'm the villain here."

"No you're not!" Both Kuri and Hide cried.

"You're our hero!" Kuri exclaimed.

"And you're alive! Stop trying to die by cop!" Hide yelled.

Kaneki laughed. "Okay okay. I got it. Let's just…" He grasped Kuri's hands. "Let's start a life together…live in peace.

"Together…at last."

Kuri looked at the horizon as the sun came up and brightened the sky. The world was scarred now, like Kaneki, the one-eyed ghoul who started everything.

Who would have thought that by thwarting death and saving Kaneki Ken; she would bring death to the world—and the hope of rebirth?!
