The Ultimate Battle Part Three
Ant-sized Hope managed to carry her ant-sized boyfriend and brother into the van surrounded by Thanos's troops. They flew to the front seats and enlarged.
"Oh, fudge. It's a mess back here," George complained looking at the messy time machine.
Scott tried to activate it. "Dam it! It's dead,"
"Now what do you do?" Hope asked.
George reached for some broken pieces of wire. "I have to hot-wire it,"
Thanos was busy finishing off more guys with his sons. "Where is Nebula?" he complained.
"He's not responding," Ebony called back.
"I told you she'd betray us! Father! Look!" he pointed towards Clint still riding Higa with the gauntlet. "The stones!"
Clint still clinging onto the gauntlet shot tasers from his sabre, Higa swiped many out with her claws. They were suddenly surrounded by savage giants when the Black Panther descending from the air punched the ground, sending them flying back with energy released from her suit. "Give it to me," she cried out. Clint threw it and she sprinted off, shooters pursuing her. "Shurak! Could us some help!"
Her brother appeared and roared as bursts of energy were shot from his gauntlets, aiding his sister. Okoye and M'Baku joined him too, taking many down with their spears of hard wood and vibranium. But Thanos saw them and tried to stop them only for a raging Wanka to block his panther, red telekinetic energy flowing from her fingertips.
"Sister! Look out!" Shurak's cry was too late. T'Lilla was bashed in the head and she dropped the gauntlet before Ebony made more earth lift it out of reach. "No!" she leapt up and grabbed it but she was grappled by the earth.
"Give it to me!" cried a voice. She looked up and saw Peter Parker. She threw it and before Ebony could grab it back, Peter shot a web and pulled it out of reach, landing far away from him.
"Activate instant kill!" his suit launched spider legs from the back, piercing any alien attacking him. Before he was becoming overwhelmed.
Danny and Cheryl appeared and took them down. "I can't believe we're fighting with my hero!" the brother cheered, loving every moment of it.
"Focus Danny!" the irritated sister scowled. "Man, we are going to tell Mum and Dad about this!"
Ecstatic to be fighting with two other teen heroes with one of them being one of his biggest fans, Spider-Man screamed out loudly: "I wouldn't! My aunt knows about me and she never tries to stop me!"
Wanda raised Thanos off the ground, tearing his armour apart. He wouldn't accept defeat. "Rain fire!" he ordered.
"But father that will kill our troops!" Vamos called back.
"Just do it!"
Seconds later, the giant warship's guns aimed at the battle below. And fired. Quickly everyone took cover. Wong and many sorcerers raised shields. Pepper saw water about to flood the valley when Strange managed to divert it away.
Danny and Cheryl did their best to help Peter but too many kept coming at them. "Help!" Cheryl called out. "Someone help us! Spider Guys needs a lift!"
Jesse heard them from afar and threw Mjolnir. "Grab it, Spider-Man!"
Spider-Man looked up and saw the hammer soaring across the air. He shot a weapon and it pulled him to safety. Then he shot another line and Cheryl was gripped by the back and she pulled her brother away too.
"We're being saved by our hero! This gets better and better!" Danny's ecstasy wouldn't stop and his no-nonsense sister just growled in irritation. Suddenly a gunshot snapped the web attacking them and Spider-Man to the hammer and they dropped. Pepper caught Spider Man who kept a firm cling on the two siblings. "I got you kids!"
"Over here!" Una cried from the air and she and Valkyrie swopped on their pegasuses. Pepper threw the teens up. Spider-Man landed behind Una and Cheryl, and Danny landed behind Valkyrie.
"Hello," Danny greeted.
"Hang on!" Una made sure Spider-Man didn't slip off. But the gun blasts made the flying steeds swerve too hastily out of reach and they lost balance before they crashed to the earth, Spider-Man rolling away with the gauntlet.
The raining fire got worse and worse. Peter shielded his daughter with his body. Hippoflash descended, using his wings to shield Leok and his father and grandfather. Mantis pulled Tina to safety under some debris, Rocket did the same with Meredith and Rhodey with Hulk. But then in a strange instant, the rain of blasting stopped. Everyone looked up and saw blasts aimed at the sky.
The adoptive family stared up. "What are they firing at?" Leok wondered outlaid.
Colin and Wendy looked up too and then their hearts jumped to the voices through their coms. "Hey Twins," it was the voice of their father. "Did you miss us?"
"Didn't expect you guys to have all the fun did you?" their mother appeared in the sky, their father beside her. And the Avengers and their allies watched as they flew straight through the warship.
"Oh right!" Peter cheered with his daughter.
"That takes care of that!" his daughter cheered more. The titan ship plunged and crashed into the water, Thanos watching disheartened.
George finally finished fixing the machine. "It's done!" he pressed some buttons. "Cap! It's ready!" he called.
Scott looked form their position and saw too many soldiers between them and their allies. "They're never gonna make it through all that,"
Wendy and Colin approached Spider Man still clutching the gauntlet. "We'll take it," Colin helped him up and the teen gave his sister the gauntlet.
"How will you guys get through all that?"
"Oh, they will," They turned their heads to see Peter and his family and the Nameless Order who had come to help them, Leok riding Hippoflash again.
"We'll handle these guys," Tobey blinked at his father.
"I'll provide some assistance," Leok was ready. As was his cousin. "Let's go,"
The Nameless Order charged. The brothers activated their jetpacks to take care of the flying alien leviathans. Leok slashed them as Hippodraken swooped by. Then the Avengers came to give them aid. Carol and Walter blasted more down. Thora and Jesse together struck them down with lightning. Tina and the Guardians came charging onto the scene to help them when they stopped as they saw Peter in the air.
"Peter," Meredith breathed.
Tina activated her ankle rocket-blasters and shot off. "Tina!" Mantis cried out to her.
Tina shot through the air, striking enemies down with her Quadblasters. "Peter!" she cried out, desperate for him to hear her, to let him know that she would no longer resent him.
The brothers were holding each other's backs when they heard Peter's name being called out. Peter got so distracted that Tobey had to save him from a soldier about to kill him.
"Tina go!" Peter flew to her. "It's not safe!"
"I'm not leaving you!"
"Just go!" he begged, shooting off again to help Tobey but Tina didn't listen and followed him. "What are you doing?!"
Tobey flew to them, cutting another few down. "Are you trying to get us all killed?". He killed another. "Just do as you're told!"
"Stop giving me orders!"
"Guys!" Peter shouted, irritated they weren't focusing on the enemies around them.
"What are you? In charge?"
"No! I'm your brother!" Tobes realised what he had done. Too late. Tina stared wide-eyed at him. He shuddered, realising what he had done. They stared into each other's eyes, obvious to their frantic brother hovering beside them.
"Guys…can we talk about this later?" Peter shot two soldiers down. "Just go Teen…I'll explain everything I promise. Just go! GO!" he shouted in her face before he pulled Tobey away to fight another leviathan. But Tina was just hovering there in mid-air, pale with shock, tunned. All these years, Peter had been with a brother they didn't know about, a brother who was there for him, in ways she wasn't.
"Really? You had to blabber that out now?!" Peter berated Tobes.
"It just came out. She was making me nervous! Not every day you meet a sister you've never known!"
Colin and Wendy soared through the army of remaining men blasting them, cutting them down like a mower over grass. They were nearly there. They just reached the time machine in the van when blast!
Vamos had struck the time machine destroying it, sending everyone flying in separate directions. Leok saw everything below and dove down, leaping from Hippoflash. He grabbed the gauntlet when Vamos came out of nowhere and attacked him. He brought out his sword and fought back but the giant was twice his size.
His father saw above as they fought. "Leok," he dove down.
Leok struggled to hold his ground when his father kicked Vamos in mid-flight, cutting across his cheek but Vamos kicked him down. "Dad!" Before Vamos could kill him, Hippoflash descended from the sky and hoisted the Titan up into the air, spinning him in circles with his long tail and sending him flying into the Titan ship wreckage causing it to explode and him along with it. Leok was too distracted by the act when... Stab!
His father saw and screamed. "No!"
Peter saw below and gasped seeing the blood of his nephew on Thanos's blade. Leok's body slammed into the ground, the gauntlet rolling away from his hand.
Sylwa saw over the earth. "Leok," her breath was caught in her throat. Scylla gasped, tears filling her eyes. Erzi and Harvie saw it too. Tobey crawled to his son who was scarcely clinging to life. Then he saw Thanos's cruel face. He wanted revenge. He grabbed his sword and jumped but then Thanos punched him to the ground, several times, knocking him unconscious till his blood was bleeding. Before the madman could kill him too, he heard screaming rage and felt blasts striking him down. Peter forced him back, anger and grief consuming his face. "I will kill you if you touch him!"
"You're too late," Thanos held up the gauntlet, he had recovered.
"No!" Peter tried to stop him but was knocked down beside his brother and nephew; he spat out a handful of blood. Thanos tried to stab him too but Tina descended from the sky and shot at his face, blinding his eye. Then Mantis appeared, slicing one of his ears off but he grabbed Tina by the hair and threw her into him. He managed to slip the gauntlet on his other hand but Captain Marvel, Commodore Marvel and their children blasted at him, swiping the gauntlet from him again. Thanos suddenly grabbed Colin and flew him back into his children. Carol was thrown away too, the gauntlet banging on the ground, the Light Stone falling from its slot. During the fight, Tony watched and he shared a glimpse with Doctor Strange who remorsefully nodded. He knew what he had to do. He charged at Thanos just as he had pulled on the gauntlet and it zapped his hand with the energy of the Infinity Stones.
Tony grabbed it but was pushed back. Thanos snapped. But nothing happened. He tried again. Still nothing. He realised there were no stones. Tony had snatched them, inserting them into his hand. "I. Am. Iron Man," and he snapped. Flash.
All around everyone, Thanos's minions, the remaining Leviathans, and his adopted children turned to ash. Thanos distraughtly watched. He had lost. And in the distance he saw Gamora, his only remaining child, staring over at him with little sympathy.
"Dad!" Sylva sprinted to her father. "Dad!". Peter groaned as he sat up. And then slowly but clearly in front of everyone's eyes, he turned into ash blowing into the wind, into the scorched air.
"Leok," Scylla rushed to the dying boy, cradling his head. "Come on Leok,"
"Tobes," Peter cupped his face. He wasn't dead but he dozed off like he was in a deep coma.
Mantis woke up slowly. Then he saw Tina who was regaining consciousness. He helped her stand up. "Are you alright?"
"I am now," though dozy, she just loved being in his sight.
Tony collapsed against debris, weak, and drowsy. Cheryl had just climbed up some debris. "Oh no," She pulled her brother and Spider-Man upstairs and they saw Pepper tending to him.
"Come on," Pete pressed Leok's wound with a piece of cloth. "Stay with us. Stay with us,"
"Peter!" Erzi and Harvie rushed forward, gasping when they saw their captain and friend and his son.
"Tobes! Leok!" Derang arrived on the scene. "No," he fell to their sides. "No! No!" he roared into the air.
"We have to get them to the med-bay!" Scylla was leaking out tears.
Erzi heard beeping on his wrist tab and pressed it. "Enemy ships are approaching Earth. We have to go now,"
Now? Peter twisted his head and saw Tina and Mantis together. Then Rocket, Meredith, Drax, Nebula, Groot and Orlins join them in a big group hug. The Guardians, minus him and Gamora, the one he loved, who hadn't come back to him.
"Peter," Scylla begged. She knew how he was feeling but Leok was dying and Tobey needed medical attention. And their enemy's ships were approaching them again. He saw his daughter's tearful face. His eyes glued tearfully to the sight of his sister.
Tina and the Guardians shared a big group hug. "I dreamed this day would come," Orlins said. "Now we're all together,"
Drax laughed like a mad hatter but his laughter died down when he realised someone was missing. "Where's Peter?"
"Peter," when Tina turned her head, she saw a long beam of light stretching from the sky. The Avengers and Guardians were alarmed by its presence. All except Spider-Man, Rhodey and Pepper who were tending to the dying Tony. It shone on Peter, Sylva, and their loved ones. "No. No. Peter!" she sprinted, trying to stop him. "Peter! Don't go!" she couldn't lose him again. He couldn't leave again.
Peter heard her cries for help. His heart broke watching her heartbroken face and running legs, joined by the others including Rocket and Meredith. "I'm sorry Teen," he sobbed, beginning to cry. He closed his eyes just as Tina's outstretched hand reached through the light but whiz.
The Avengers, the Guardians and their allies watched in alarm as the beam lifted them high in the sky, disappearing into space. Tina fell to her knees. "No,".
Mantis approached her and touched her shoulders. He knelt beside her, offering his arms.
Thora and Jesse arrived and saw Tony exhaling laboriously. "Tony," Quickly Thora rushed forward. "Maybe I can jolt him,"
"Thora…" Jesse stopped her. He shook his head. "It won't do any good and you know it,"
"It's okay," panted Tony. "It's okay,"
Thora stood back to give them some space. And then blink. Tony's heartbeat stopped. His heart-piece dimmed. Pepper kissed his cheek and her head fell on his shoulder. Tears were shed between everyone. And then they bowed. It was all done now. It was finally over. They had won. But at a terrible price.
In the distance, Gamora stood emotionless watching everything unfold. She saw her alternate adoptive sister with her team as they comforted a heartbroken sister. What was she to do now? Everyone she knew was gone. All she had was Nebula. Where could she go from here? In the blink of her eyes, she saw a spaceship.
"Tobey," echoed a voice. "Tobes. Tobes!"
Everything was so bright around him. It was solid underneath him. He stood up slowly, his eyes absorbing the emptiness around him. "Tobey,". It was kind and gentle. And motherly. He turned around and saw a pretty, middle-aged woman approaching him. Her hair was dark in waves and he saw his eyes shining back at him from her tearful face.
"Mum,"
"My son," she approached him slowly. He couldn't contain himself. "It's okay. I'm here,"
"I'm sorry," he sobbed.
"Darling…"
"I let you down. I got you killed. I got everybody killed,"
"No. Don't think like that,"
On the main ship shooting through space, Sylwa and Peter were by Tobey's side as his head was being scanned for injuries. "Come on Tobes," his brother begged.
"He has to be okay. I can't bear to look at Leok. Harvie can save him right,"
"She's the best doctor we've got. She's gonna save him,"
Tobey was crying silently as his mother cradled his face, kissing his head. "We have always been watching over you. And we are free. The sky is so beautiful. They all love it. It's just as you said it would be for them," She stood aside and her son saw his beloved friends. The Walrus. The rabbit. And the otter.
"Guys," he bent on one knee. "I'm so happy to see you three,"
"Little one," Lylla touched his cheek with her metal hand.
"Tobey so big," Floor jiggled on her metal legs.
"So much bigger than me," Teefs said with amusement.
"I'm so sorry," Tobey apologised. "l let you all down,"
"Tobes…no," Lylla wiped his tears away.
"I promised I'd get you all free…and I killed you all. I tried but I let you all down. I've had to live with that guilt…for years. Even Rocket has blamed me for years…and he was right to,"
"No. He wouldn't," his mother comforted.
"This is what he did to me," Tobey's true face shone in their eyes. "All I see in his eyes is rage and unforgiveness. I tried to make amends with him but he will never forgive and I don't deserve it from him or any of you,"
"No," Lylla cupped his face. "You know deep down he doesn't think like that,"
"You can't give up on him," Teefs begged. "You never gave up on any of us before. And even in death, we have never given up on you too,"
"Please," Floor leapt into his hands and Tobey hugged her to his chest. Then he allowed himself to fall against Teefs's blubbery hide and Lylla to wrap her arms around his neck.
"I love you guys. So much. I wish Scylla was here too. She's missed you all so much as I have. Not a moment has passed when neither hasn't entered my thoughts. It was all the times we had together that kept me going to protect everyone I still have in my life. Including my son and brother. They would have loved you all so much,"
"One day we will all fly together through the forever and beautiful sky. But for now, your purpose is with all those you still have," Lylla gave him one last nuzzle before he placed Floor down and faced his mother again.
"I found a new dad, mum. Derang,"
Emily sniffled, remembering him. "I wish it was he I married. Tell him…"
"I will. I love you all. And I haven't forgotten about any of you. I never will. I will never give up on Rocket either,"
"We will always be watching over you. From afar. I love you with all of myself," Emily embraced him. "And I always him,"
"Tobes!" cried two loud voices from above their heads.
Tobey woke up. He was on a bed and his brother and niece embraced him tightly. He hugged them back tighter, just wanting to feel the warmth of their bodies against him.
"You're okay," Sylva breathed relieved. "You're okay,"
"Don't ever scare us like that," Peter threatened.
"I can't make any promises," he stood off but noticed two certain people weren't there. "Where's Leok?"
Before an answer could be given, the room echoed with slow footsteps. Erzi appeared, eyes wet. "I'm sorry,"
Tobey rushed to the other room and to his horror saw an extremely low heartbeat on the monitor. Leok was lifeless on the bed, eyes shut. Derang had held his hand. Scylla was on his other side. Harvie was the only one who could talk. "I tried everything,"
"No," Tobey gently Scylla aside. "Come on son. Wake up," but his son wouldn't turn at all. The heartbeat went red. The wires were pulled off. "Leok," Derang closed his eyes in silence. Hippoflash just prodded away. "No. no. No! Leok!" he begged him to wake up. "No. Leok. No. Not him. Not him," he hugged him. Sylva scrunched her eyes and began sobbing, Scylla wrapping her arms around her head. Harvie's head felt against Erzi's chest as they mourned. "My son!" the screams of grief bounced off the walls and the crew members left silently.
Peter went over to a corner and sobbed into his hand, heartbroken. His heart shattered hearing his brother grieve and mourn. No father should ever have to lose a child this way. If he had lost Sylwa…
A fuzzing feeling burned from within his pocket. He reached inside and fished out the Light Infinity Stone. He almost jumped like he was seeing a ghost. But then the words of its former Guardian echo in his mind.
"Because it was you who obtained it, Peter, it will appear to you when you need it most,"
He did need it now. He had lost another loved one and he wanted him back but there was someone else he wanted back. But the moment his memories brought up Gamora, all he could picture was a revolting woman on the battlefield who had threatened his daughter.
"No variant of the same person can exist at one time. To do more damage to time would mean the end of the universe itself. No one can replace the woman you love. Not even a copy of her,"
It was as if … had known that this new alternate Gamora was going to appear. Whoever she was, she was not his Gamora. And with her now in this timeline and not abolished from existence like her alternate adoptive father and his army, he couldn't bring his Gamora back without damaging the space-time continuum. And after everything his brother had been through…
He walked back over to the bed where Leok had been laid to rest. Sylva's cries were loud as Scylla held her but the bright glow drew their eyes. "Dad…"
Derang saw the gem in his hand. "What are you doing?"
Peter closed his eyes. "De more revocet…" he paused for a long while. "Leok,"
Before the audience of stunned eyes, the stone dissolved into magical dust that sparkled like stars. It flew through the lips of the dead teen and then…
Leok's eyes opened and he sat up gasping, new life within him again. The wounds on his chest healed as if they had never been there. He saw the gleeful faces of everyone surrounding him, then his father entered the room again and he was overcome with tears. He embraced him again, kissing his head and massaging his hair. "Am I not dead?"
"No. The stone brought you back," the overjoyed Peter answered. Tobey looked at him and realised what he had done.
"Why did you do that?". All Leok received was a big squeezy hug and then Sylva hugged him too. Then Tobey. Then Scylla. Then Harvie. Then Erzi. Then Hornil. Then Derang. It was a time to celebrate their victory. But news from Earth brought sorrow.
And that's the final battle done. Just one more chapter to go. I know you guys wanted Peter to make amends with Tina and Rocket at the end but how this chapter has gone is important for the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 story. He is staying away from them because he wants to protect them from the High Evolutionary who is hunting him down because he wants to use him to get to Rocket. At least Tina knows now she has another brother but will there be jealousy? I hope you all have enjoyed it still. The next chapter should be done for tomorrow. I hope you're all excited for it. Now to answer some more questions.
1. Loki is now alive because he's been brought back to life. He will appear in Thora 4, living in Mount Olympus but will then help them.
2. I have seen the movie Guardians of Ga'hoole and yes Grimble could be a spirit guide for Willow. Good idea thanks

4. Hiccup and Aragorn could be close like father and son
5. I love the idea of thee mysterious blue wizards: Alatar and Pallando helping the descendants of the Zym team.
