Amity's Intro
Water. Earth. Fire. Air.
Long ago, the four nations lived in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed her most, she vanished. A hundred years passed, and me, Willow and Gus discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Luz. and although her airbending skills are great, she has a lot to learn before she's ready to save anyone.
But I believe Luz can save the world.
The episode opens in Fire Fountain City, where a giant statue of Fire Emperor Belos roaring is shown with flames coming out of the fists and mouth. The camera moves down to Boscha, who is seen running from someone with a blindfold over both her eyes, but turns around and is caught with a net and falls to the ground. She angrily looks in front of her at someone.
(Angrily.) "How could you do this to me? You betrayed me!" Boscha yelled
The camera cuts to a shot of Gus, who is glaring back at Boscha.
(Crosses his arms.) "You brought this on yourself. I had no choice." Gus said (Turns away from Boscha with his arms folded.)
Boscha is dragged away in the net, all the while glaring back at Gus. The screen fades to three days earlier. Boscha and Gus are seen facing each other, each taking a fighting stance, the latter controlling two streams of water in his hands. Luz appears on the screen, tying her headband over her eyes like a blindfold.
"Okay. I'm ready for some training." Luz said
"Be sure not to get hurt!" Camila said (stands at a distance from the three along with Amity and Eda.)
She turns to face the two and takes two steps forward in a stance similar to Boscha's. Upon impact with the second step, she picks up vibrations from the ground with seismic sense. She quickly dodges three earth pillars that appear out of the ground near her. She hears a water attack coming from Gus and redirects it at him. She quickly launches a boulder at Boscha who catches it and stops it.
"Good job, Twinkle Toes. Visualize, then attack." Boscha said
She launches the boulder back at Luz, who burrows into a hole with earthbending. The boulder instead hits Gus square in the chest, knocking him down. He stands back up and brushes dust off of himself.
"Maybe you should take your own advice, Boscha!" Gus said
"What's the matter? Can't handle a little dirt, Monsieur Fussy-Britches?" Boscha asked
Gus' eyebrow twitches and he glares at Boscha with his vein shown on his head before he angrily creates a wave and sends it at Boscha, who gets splashed by it and becomes annoyed.
"Oh, sorry. Did I splash you, Mud-Slug?" Gus asked
Gus creates an ice ramp, and Boscha creates an earth ramp, both proceeding to head straight for each other. They crash and both of the two go flying.
"Are we taking a break?" Luz asked
(Walks over with Eda and Camila, places a hand on Luz's shoulder.) "that would be a good idea with what's happening between the two at the moment." Amity said with concern
Meanwhile, Willow is seen hiding behind Luz with an evil smile. She quickly gets up and charges at Luz. The background changes to a rushing one.
(Screaming.) "Sneak Attack!" Willow yelled
Luz, casually and still looking away from Willow, creates an earth wall, which stops Willow dead in her tracks which caught Amity, Eda and Camila's attention. She lowers the wall, which causes Willow to fall down.
(While raising her blindfold and turning to face Willow.) "Willow, sneak attacks don't work if you yell it out loud." Luz said
Gus and Boscha are seen wrestling in a puddle of mud.
"Hungry for a mud pie?" Boscha asked (Kicks mud in Gus' face.)
(Wiping mud off of his face.) "I'll give you a mud pie!" Gus said
Gus waterbends a stream of mud at Boscha, knocking her down. She quickly gets up and earthbends a pillar underneath Gus, which sends her flying toward a wall. She starts running toward Gus, but stops at the last second when they hear Luz.
"Uh guys, I thought we were supposed to be training me." Lus said
(Takes a few steps forward, covered in mud, calmly.) "Very well, Luz. I believe we've had enough training for today." Gus said (Turns and walks away.)
"While Gus cleans up," (Earthbends the mud off of herself and runs toward Luz, Willow and Eda.) "let's go have some fun!" Boscha shouted
"Yeah!" Luz said
(Simultaneously with Luz.) "Yes!" Willow said
"We'll be very careful in town, don't wait up!" Eda said
Luz, Willow, Eda and Boscha head to Fire Fountain City. Willow is carrying her sword horizontally across her shoulders. She looks up and sees messenger hawks flying in and out of a large coop.
"Look at all those messenger hawks! You know, I've been thinking about getting one for myself. That way, I wouldn't have to talk to anyone. I could just send them messages." Willow said
"I gotta say, I like the idea of not talking to you." Boscha said (Willow glares at her.)
(While holding up a silver piece.) "So, girls. What are we gonna get with our last silver piece?" Luz asked
"Seems we'll need to find a way to get more if we want to get more supplies." Eda said
(Stops walking.) "We can get more money." (The three look back at her.) "Right there." Boscha said (Points to an area beneath them. Luz, Willow and Eda move back to look where she is pointing.)
In the area is a table with two men sitting across from each other, with people around them watching the action. The table has three shells on it, all upside down. The first man places some money on the table and the second man, a scam artist, lifts the shells to reveal that the middle one has a rock underneath it. He places the shells back down as they were and starts moving them around.
"This is where you see people are at a disadvantage. Everyone guesses wrong because the dealer moves the rock at the last minute. But I can feel it with my earthbending." Boscha said (As she says this while putting on a blindfold, the scam artist continues to move the shells around as the gambler tries to focus on the shell with the rock, and right before stopping, the scam artist quickly and inconspicuously earthbends the rock from underneath one of the shells into his sleeve.)
The scam artist stops moving the shells and arranges them how they originally were, Horizontally right in front of him. The gambler points at the shell in the middle, which the scam artist lifts to reveal nothing underneath. The gambler stands up and walks away crying. A few more people move and the dealer notices Boscha, and that she is wearing a blindfold.
(To Boscha.) "You there. Wanna play a friendly game?" the Dealer asked
"How can I possibly play?" (Waves her hand in front of her face.) "I'm blind." Boscha said
"You don't have to see to be lucky." the Dealer said
Boscha sits in front of the table and feels around it, pretending to be helpless. She places their last silver piece on the table. The scam artist shows the rock under the shell in the middle and starts moving them around. This time, he tosses one rock from his sleeves into each of the two empty shells. Boscha senses this and smiles slyly. When he stops, Boscha points to the one on her left, which has a rock underneath, winning about two silver pieces.
"Flamey-O, Boscha." Luz said
"Wow. Fancy guessing. You are amazing at this." (Plays with a few silver pieces in his hands.) "Would you like to make the game a little more interesting?" the Dealer asked
(Curiously.) "More interesting? How?" Boscha asked
(Points at Willow's sword.) "Well, let's say you toss in your friend's fine sword there," (Grabs a big bag of money.) "Then I'll put up twenty silver pieces against it, and that's more interesting." the Dealer said
(Grabs Willow's sword.) "I'll do it for forty silver pieces." Boscha said (Willow stares at them with her mouth wide open.)
"Forty silver pieces it is." the Dealer said (Drops some more money into the bag and starts moving the shells, faster this time.)
The scam artist moves the first two rocks into his sleeves, which Boscha senses as she smiles slyly again. He attempts to do the same with the third rock, but Boscha inconspicuously clutches her fist, causing the rock to move back underneath the shell, which the scam artist does not notice. When he stops, she smiles and points at the shell in the middle.
(Moves his hand over to the shell, about to lift it.) "Sorry, little lady, but-" (Lifts up the shell and sees the rock, which shocks and confuses him.) Huh?" the Dealer wondered (Stares closely at the rock.)
"I won!" Boscha shouted (She grabs the bag of money, and Willow grabs her sword as they run off.)
Cut to Boscha, Luz, Willow and Eda heading back to camp, laughing and carrying baskets full of goods. Camila is seen cooking something in a pot as they all drop their baskets onto the ground for Amity, Gus and Camila to look at the baskets with curiosity.
"Where did you girls get the money to buy all this stuff?" Amity asked
"Boscha got us the money." (Grabs an apple and takes a bite out of it as she sits down.) "She scammed one of those guys in town who moves the shells around all sneaky-like." Luz said (She mimics the scam artist moving the shells with her hand. Gus' expression shows disapproval.)
(Sits down too.) "She used earthbending to win the game! Classic!" Willow said
"Ah, so she cheated." Gus said
(Starts to bite her apple, but stops to defend herself while taking off the blindfold.) "Hey! I only cheated because he was cheating!" (Smiles.) "I cheated a cheater." (Closes her eyes in confidence.) "What's wrong with that?" Boscha asked
"He's just saying this isn't something we should make a habit of doing." Camila said
"Why? Because it's fun? And he hates fun?" Boscha asked
"I don't hate fun!" (Places King on his head like a hat while grinning unconvincingly.) "See? Fun!" Gus said (King slips off his head, screeches at him, and runs away.)
(Stands up.) "Gus," (Slightly lifts her headband to reveal her airbender tattoo and bows.) "I'll personally make you an Avatar Promise that we won't make a habit of doing these scams." Luz said
The camera switches to the city, where Luz goes from bowing to doing tricks with the money in her hands and runs off. A few citizens are seen playing a dice-like game. The two winners see Boscha holding a bag of money with a blindfold over her eyes and call her over. She tosses the two dice. One lands on three, which is the highest number, and the other is about to go from three to zero. Cut to Boscha, who twitches her head to the left slightly without any of the others seeing, causing the die to move back to the three, meaning she wins much to the winners' dismay and Luz, Willow and Eda's joy.
Cut to an area where a carnival is being hosted, where a big man tries a test-your-strength game, in which you need to use a hammer to launch a ball up to ring the bell, but can only make it about halfway. Boscha jiggles a bag of money and walks over. Luz, Willow and Eda watch from behind as she hands the man in charge of the game the money and places her hands on the hammer. She struggles to move it over her head and behind her, which makes all in the crowd snicker and laugh. Boscha smiles again as she uses earthbending to launch the hammer's head from behind her to the lever with great force. The ball is launched so hard that it launches out of the game, destroying the top of it, which leaves everyone shocked. She casually grabs her winnings and leaves as the ball crashes into a tent behind, causing everyone to cringe at the sound, and looks back to see the damage.
The camera next cuts to a street where a carriage is being pulled by a dragon moose. Cut to a side-shot of the inside of the carriage where a noble opens his cup of tea to his delight and waves the aroma to his face. Boscha emerges from a dark alley while putting on a blindfold and creates a small rock right in front of one of the wheels to stop the cart. She falls back, pretending to have been hit. The noble peeks outside the carriage window and sees Boscha. He jumps out of the carriage and starts to run, but is stopped by what looks like a Fire Nation guard, who is really Willow in his Wang Fire costume. She notices Boscha being "run over" and crosses her arms angrily at the noble, who gets on his knees and begs Willow. He places twelve small bags of money as bribery, one after another in Willow's arms, and Willow smiles and winks at him to assure him that Willow will keep this secret. The camera cuts back to the camp.
"Guys, I think these scams have gone far enough. If you keep doing them, something bad is gonna happen." Gus said
"Have to agree with Gus here, we don't want anything bad to happen." Amity said
"I second that." Camila said
"Could you for once stop being such a sourpuss and just lighten up?" Boscha asked (Tosses some money to Gus.)
(Angrily.) "Oh, I'm sorry! You think I should be more like you? Like some wild child?" Gus asked (Tosses the money back at Boscha.)
"Yeah! Maybe! Maybe then you'd see" (Boscha grabs the money off the ground.) "how great we have it! I mean, look at us!" (Leans back on the rock behind her and crosses her arms behind her head.) "We're traveling around the world! Making easy money! Having fun! With no parents to tell us what to do!" Boscha said
"Ah. I see. You're acting like this because of your parents." Gus said
"I'm the only member of the team that's a parent." Camila said (grabs Luz by the ear and pulls on her ear hard.)
"Whatever." Boscha said
"They were controlling over you, so you ran away, and now you act like your parents don't exist. You act like you hate them, but you don't. You just feel guilty." Amity said
"I do hate them." Boscha said
"I don't think so. I think you miss them, but you just don't wanna deal with that, so instead you act like this crazy person." Gus said
(Stands up, angrily.) "Look, I ran away to help Luz!" Boscha said
"You know what? It doesn't matter. These scams put us all at risk, and we don't need that." (Points at his forehead.) "We've already got some scary third-eyed freak after us." Gus said
"Speaking of that 'scary third-eyed freak', I think I've come up with a name for him. What do you think of 'Sparky-Sparky-Boom Man'?" (Silence.) "Just think about it." Willow said
(Angrily.) "We have enough money! You need to stop this!" Gus yelled
(Angrily.) "I'll stop when I wanna stop and not when you tell me!" Boscha yelled (Uses earthbending to launch the bag of money behind her and into her hand and walks away angrily. Gus shakes his head angrily as Boscha sits and creates an earth tent.)
(Grabs her bag of money and her sword and stands up.) "Speaking of money, I'm off to spend some. See you guys later." Willow said (Walks away.)
"You're gonna need some company if you're gonna head into town." Eda said (stands up and follows Willow.)
In town, Willow and Eda just bought a messenger hawk, which Willow names Hawky.
"Hawky, welcome to Team Avatar. My name's Willow, and I'm your new owner, and as such I should warn you that there's already a demon dog in our group, so I don't wanna see any fighting." (Scratches Hawky on the stomach.) "Good little messenger Hawky. Who's got pretty feathers?" Willow asked
"Just be sure you take good care of Hawky, okay?" Eda asked
"Don't worry, I'll keep him fed." (While walking away, they noticed a wanted poster they had just passed with Boscha's picture on it. They gasp in horror and Willow rips it off the wall. Hawky screeches.) "You're right, Hawky. This is bad." Willow said (Suddenly, Hawky poops while standing on Willow's arm.)
"You have to take care of that kind of thing as well." Eda said (pointing to what Hawky did.)
The scene changes back to the camp. Gus and Luz are practicing waterbending as Amity and Camila watch from a distance, while Boscha is counting her money while wearing her blindfold to challenge herself. Willow and Eda walk up to her.
"Boscha, while we were in town, we found something that you're not gonna like." Willow said (Pulls out the wanted poster and shows it to her.)
"Well it sounds like a sheet of paper, but I guess you're referring to what's on the sheet of paper since I have my blindfold on." Boscha said
"It's a wanted poster. Of you. They've nicknamed you the Runaway." Eda said
(Happily.) "A wanted poster! That's so great! 'The Runaway.' I love my new nickname. Is there a picture of me? Does it look good?" Boscha asked
(Looks a few times at both the wanted poster and Boscha.) "Well yeah, actually, it does look pretty good." (Gets back on topic.) "But, Boscha, you're missing the point. Maybe Gus was right. These scams are drawing too much attention to us." Willow said
"Don't be such a worrywart like your friend, Gus." (Stands up and walks up to Willow and Eda while lifting the blindfold from over her eyes.) "Think of it this way, now you've got plenty of money to help with the invasion plan." Boscha said (Holds up a bag of money and jiggles it in front of her.)
(Willow ponders for a moment.) "Well, that is true. You do have this idea of making armor for Appa." Eda said (Looks at Appa, who is napping, but opens one eye upon hearing this.)
(Takes some money out of the bag and hands the money to her.) "Here's a little extra, so you can get yourself a nice map of the Fire Nation. You know what?" (Gives the entire bag to her.) "Make it an atlas." Boscha said
(While taking the bag.) "I do like expensive atlases." Willow said
"Of course you do." (Grabs the wanted poster and tucks it into her outfit.) "And that's why this wanted poster is going to stay our little secret." Boscha said (Walks away.)
"You took her offer without even knowing it." Eda said (elbows Willow in the arm making wince a bit from it.)
Luz, Amity, Gus and Camila walk up to Willow and Eda, as Willow tucks her new money into her outfit
"Willow," [Places her hand on her face, annoyed.) "Tell me you didn't buy a bird." Camila said
"Not just a bird, a messenger bird. Now we can send messages all over the world. Even to your Gran Gran, Gus." Willow said
(Excited.) "Wow, how does it work?" Luz asked
"Hm. Uh, I never actually thought about that. Hawky," (Points away from herself.) "Gus' Gran Gran, South Pole." (Hawky shakes himself.) "I think he gets it." Willow said
"You have to write a note for them to head to the place you want them to head to." Amity said
King appears on Luz's shoulder and screeches at Hawky. He jumps to Willow and starts chasing Hawky around Willow's head.
"Hawky! Make nice! Bad Hawky!" Willow shouted
Later on at the camp, Gus is mixing something in a cooking pot via waterbending as Amity and Camila added some seasoning into it. He then waterbends some of it out of the pot and into Appa's mouth, which causes him to lick his lips, while Luz sits on a ledge in front of Appa and drinks something out of a cup. Boscha, Willow and Eda, the latter with Hawky on Willow's shoulder, show up carrying big bags of money.
(Sarcastically.) "Well. Look who decided to join us." (Stands up.) "Where have you three been? Off scamming again?" Gus asked
"Yes, we were." Boscha said (Puts her bag down while still wearing the blindfold.)
(Slides to the right, behind Boscha.) "And I suppose you don't think what you're doing is dangerous at all?" Gus asked
"No, I don't." Boscha said
"Really?" Gus asked
"Yes. Really." Boscha said
(Starts to pull something out.) "Well then. What's this?" Gus asked (Shows Boscha her wanted poster.)
(Annoyed.) "I don't know! I mean, seriously! What is with you people? I'm blindfolded!" Boscha yelled (Points at her blindfold and pats the sides of it to emphasize her words.)
"It's a wanted poster of you! 'The Runaway!' Is that what you're called now? Are you proud of this?" Gus asked
(Sits up, takes off her blindfold, Angrily.) "Where did you get that!?" Boscha asked in rage
"It doesn't matter where I got it. The fact is-" Gus didn't finish
"You went through my stuff! You had no right!" Boscha yelled
"Your stuff was messy and we were just straightening up, and I happened to stumble across it!" Gus said
"That's a lie!" (Points at him.) "You're lying, Gus!" Boscha said
(Cut to a surprised Gus who glares at Boscha. Pushes Boscha's pointing hand out of his face.) "Fine! It's a lie! But you've been so out of control lately, I knew something was up! I knew you were hiding something and you were!" (Shows her the poster again, but Boscha grabs it, tosses it and starts to walk past Gus.) "Don't you walk away from me while I'm talking to you!" Gus yelled
(Sarcastically.) "Oh really, Dad? Or what are you gonna do? Send me to my room?" Boscha asked
"I wish I could!" Gus yelled
"Well you can't! Because you're not my dad, and you're not their dad!" Boscha yelled (Extends her arm at Luz, Amity and Willow, who are sitting on a ledge with Eda and Camila.)
"I never said I was!" Gus yelled
"No, but you certainly act like it! You think it's your job to boss everyone around, but it's not! You're just a regular kid like the rest of us! So stop acting like you can tell me what to do! I can do whatever I want!" Boscha yelled
"I don't act that way!" (Looks at Willow, who jumps as he says her name as Luz and Amity held each other in fear from it.) "Willow, do I act fatherly?" Gus asked
(Puts her hands up defensively.) "Hey. I'm staying out of this one." Willow said
(Looks at Luz.) "What do you think, Luz? Do I act like a dad?" Gus asked
(Rubs her eye.) "Well. I, uh-" Luz stuttered
(Slightly annoyed.) "Stop rubbing your eye and speak clearly when you talk!" Gus shouted
(She and Amity hold each other in a hug with fear as Willow sits straight.) "Yes, ma'am." Luz said with fear
"I can't be around you right now!" Boscha shouted
"Well, I can't be around you!" Gus shouted
Gus and Boscha turn and walk away from each other. Hawky, sitting on Willow's shoulder, screeches.
(Rests her head in her hands.) "I know, Hawky. Why can't they just get along?" Willow asked
Later on at camp, Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda and Camila are sitting together. Boscha and Gus are sitting at separate edges of the cliff, their backs to one another.
"Hey, girls. Any of you wanna test out my messenger hawk with me? I've got an idea." Willow said
"Sure." Luz said (She, Amity, Eda and Camila lean their heads closer to Willow.)
(Talks to the others quietly.) "I'm going to send a note to Gus and say it's from Boscha, who wants to apologize. Then everyone will be friends again." Willow said
"I gotta say, Willow, you continue to impress me with your ideas." Eda said
"It's a gift." (Pulls out a pen and ink and a piece of paper and starts to write.) "'Dear Gus, sorry for everything. Your friend, Boscha.'" Willow wrote
Willow positions Hawky on her arm and places the note in Hawky's message holder. Hawky flies to Gus, who takes the note out, reads it, and angrily stands up.
"I know this is from you, Willow! Boscha doesn't know how to write!" (Tears the note up into pieces.) "Ugh! You're all driving me crazy!" Gus yelled (Turns and walks away.)
"I can't believe we forgot that Boscha doesn't know how to write." Luz said
"Yup. We're idiots." Willow said (Hawky flies back onto her arm.)
"I guess Plan B is to send a note to Boscha pretending it's from Gus." Luz said
"I think we're gonna run into a similar problem." Camila said
"Yeah, Boscha has a hard time reading as well." Amity said
(Hawky screeches.) "Sorry, Hawky. Looks like I'm gonna have to do this without your help." (Walks to Boscha.) "Come on. We need to talk." Willow said
Boscha exhales, annoyed. The camera cuts to another area of the camp. Gus is bathing in a lake directly below a cliff. Willow and Boscha walk up to the edge of the cliff and sit down, not noticing Gus.
"So lemme guess, You brought me out here to tell me that your friend is not as annoying as I make him out to be." Boscha said
"Nah, he's pretty much a pain." (Gus, looking up at their feet from below and behind, glares and looks away.) "He's always got to be right about everything and he gets all bossy and involved in your business sometimes …" Willow started
"Yeah. I don't know how you could deal with it." Boscha said
"Actually, in a way, I rely on it." Willow said (Gus looks back up at them.)
"I don't understand." Boscha said
"When his mom died, that was the hardest time in my life. His family was a mess, but Gus? He had so much strength. He stepped up and took on so much responsibility. He helped fill the void that was left by his mom." Willow said
"I guess I never thought about that." Boscha said
"I'm gonna tell you something crazy. I never told anyone this before, but honestly? I'm not sure I can remember what my mother looked like. It really seems like my whole life, Gus has been the one looking out for me and Amity. He's always been the one that's there. And now, when I try to remember his mom, Gus' is the only face I can picture." Willow said (Gus, touched by what Willow says, is reduced to tears.)
"The truth is sometimes Gus does act fatherly, but that's not always a bad thing. He's compassionate and kind, and he actually cares about me." (Wipes away tears from her left eye.) "You know, the real me. That's more than my own mom." (Gus, deeply touched by Boscha's words, sinks slightly into the water. Boscha punches Willow in the arm.) "Don't ever tell her I said any of this!" Boscha said
"Hey, my lips are sealed." Willow said
Around nightfall, Gus is sitting next to King, who is napping with Gus rubbing the top of his head. Gus is looking down in front of him, saddened. He sees Willow and Boscha walking toward him and walks up to Boscha. When they reach each other, Willow keeps walking.
"Hi, Boscha. Um, I wanna-" Gus didn't get to say
(Holds up her hand in a "stop" fashion.) "Gus, stop. You don't need to apologize. I was the one being stupid. These scams are out of control, and I'm done with them." Boscha said
(Smiles.) "Actually I wasn't going to apologize. I was gonna say ... I wanna pull a scam with you." Gus said (Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda and Camila stare at him from behind, extremely shocked.)
(Also shocked.) "What? You wanna pull a scam?" Boscha asked
"Not just any scam. The ultimate scam." (Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda and Camila, still staring at him with shock, look at each other and faint, foaming from the mouth slightly. Gus puts his arm around Boscha's shoulder, who gives a sly smile.) "Whaddaya say, Boscha? Just me and you. One last go. You in?" Gus asked
(Excited.) "You know I'm in! Now what's this idea of yours?" Boscha asked (They walk away and leave Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda and Camila behind, who are now unconscious and foaming at the mouth.)
The scene changes to Gus and Boscha going over the plan. Gus is looking at Boscha's wanted poster.
"The plan is simple: This wanted poster says you're worth a lot of money; Ten times more than you've made in all of your scams. So I'm gonna turn you in and collect the reward. Then you metalbend yourself out of jail, and we're on our way." Gus said (As he speaks, the screen fades to the beginning of the episode, where Boscha with her blindfold on is seen running from the authorities and is caught in a net.)
(Angrily.) "How could you do this to me? You betrayed me!" Boscha yelled
(Crosses his arms.) "You brought this on yourself. I had no choice." Gus said (Turns away from Boscha with his arms folded.)
Boscha is dragged away in the net, all the while glaring back at Gus. Gus glances back slightly and gives a sly smile. He is joined by the chief of authorities.
"You did the right thing by turning in the Runaway." the Town authority said
"The right thing is its own reward." Gus said
"Well, I'm happy to hear you say that." the Town authority said
(Pauses for a moment.) "But, I still want the actual reward." Gus said
"Of course. Right this way." the Town authority said
Meanwhile, a female guard drags Boscha into a jail. She throws Boscha from the net into a wooden cell and closes it. Boscha feels the floor of her cell, but is shocked when she can't sense any earth in it. She gets up, takes off her blindfold and looks outside the cell at the guard.
"Hey! What kind of cell is this?" Boscha asked
"A wooden one." the female guard said (She walks away as Boscha becomes visibly worried.)
In an office, the town authority grabs a box underneath a desk and looks around in it. A door opens behind Gus, who is standing across the desk from the chief. The chief closes the box and points at Gus.
"That's him! That's the boy you were looking for!" the Town authority said
Gus turns and sees the assassin with the third eye tattooed on his head, aka "Sparky-Sparky-Boom Man", walk in, leaving him shocked and horrified. Meanwhile, at camp, Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda and Camila are worried, the latter pacing back and forth.
"Do you think this scam of theirs should be taking this long?" Luz asked
"I've seen many scams before, and they never take long to finish." Eda said
"I was just wondering the same thing. We'd better check it out." Amity said
(To Hawky and King.) "You two behave." Camila said
(Pointing at Appa.) "Appa's in charge." Willow said (Appa lifts his head as the two animals start screeching at each other as soon as Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda and Camila leave, but stop as soon as Appa roars at them.)
The camera cuts to Boscha's cell, which now holds Gus too. They both are sitting on the floor, downcast, when Boscha suddenly realizes something.
"Wait! It's a trap!" Boscha said in panic
(Sarcastically.) "Really? No kidding! Is that why we're sitting in a wooden cage right now? Gee, how'd you figure out it was a trap?" Gus asked
"Not for us, Gus! We're the bait! He wants Luz!" Boscha said (Gus' eyes widened with realization.)
"I can't believe I'm so stupid! See? This is exactly why I'm against these scams! I knew this would happen!" Gus said
"But, this was your idea." Boscha said
"I know. I wanted to show that I'm not so fatherly. I wanted to show you that I can have fun too." Gus said
"Gus, you are fun. If nothing else, you're at least fun to argue with." Boscha said
"I know your relationship with your parents is complicated. And I shouldn't have said what I said." Gus said
"It's okay. I was really mad when you said that because ... well because, maybe it's true." (Starts to cry.) "I try not to think about it, but when I left, I probably really hurt them." Boscha said
Gus embraces Boscha. Meanwhile, Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda and Camila walk around town looking for Gus and Boscha. The town is seemingly abandoned.
"Where do you think they might be?" Amity asked
"Where do you think anyone is?" (The assassin is seen walking across a rooftop behind them. Luz hears him inhaling and becomes shocked when she turns and sees him.) "Watch out!" (She grabs the others as they dodge a blast from the assassin and take cover behind a Belos statue.) "It's Sparky-Sparky-Boom Man!" Luz shouted
"You know, I'm starting to think that name doesn't quite fit." Willow said
"I agree." Camila said
"How did he even find us?" Eda asked
The assassin jumps down from the roof and fires another blast at them. They barely dodge it, but get sent flying back by the blast, which shakes the ceiling of Gus and Boscha's cell. Boscha is trying to break out, while Gus is sitting down.
"What are we gonna do?" Gus asked
"I don't know. I wish we had some earth or water. We need bendables." Boscha said
"What about your meteor bracelet? You can make a saw." Gus said
"I left it back at camp." (Sits down.) "I was worried they would take it." Boscha said
Gus exhales deeply and wipes his forehead with the back of his hand. His eyes widen with realization as he notices his hand is covered in sweat. He smiles and quickly stands up to start running in place.
(Confused.) "Um, Gus? Are you okay?" Boscha asked
"Just fine." Gus said
(Still confused.) "Well, what are you doing?" Boscha asked
"I'm making my own water." Gus said
Gus stops running and wipes his forehead again. This time, he uses waterbending to use the midair sweat as blades to cut through the wooden cage. Boscha stands up upon noticing this.
(Amazed.) "Gus! You're a genius! A sweaty, stinky genius!" Boscha shouted
Gus waterbends another blade of sweat, this time from under his arms. Cut to Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda and Camila being chased by the assassin. The assassin fires a blast at them which they dodge but still get sent flying. Willow crashes onto a wheelbarrow, which they hide behind.
"This guy is too good! He shoots fire from his brain!" Willow shouted
"We should split up. He can't chase all of us." Luz said
The assassin walks out of the smoke. Luz, Amity and Camila run off from his left and Willow and Eda from his right. The assassin fires a blast at the wheelbarrow and blows it up. Luz, Amity and Camila run past him on a roof to his left. The assassin quickly turns and fires another blast, which sends the trio flying into the Belos statue. They fall from the statue to the ground. Camila looks up and sees the assassin standing above them inhale, about to fire another blast at them, but his head is suddenly encased in ice. The assassin moves and the trio sees Gus, Willow, Eda and Boscha standing behind the assassin.
"Luz, get up!" Gus said (He, Willow and Eda help Luz, Amity and Camila up and they run away.)
"Let's get out of here!" Boscha shouted
The assassin breaks the ice with brute force. He launches another blast at Team Avatar, but Boscha quickly launches a boulder at the blast, blowing the boulder up. A pebble from the boulder flies toward the assassin and hits him square in his third eye, which momentarily stuns and angers him. He tries to fire another blast, but with his chi blocked, he ignites the air around him and gets sent back, head-first into a wall. When he stands up and shakes it off, Team Avatar is gone.
(Still running.) "Hey, I got it! The perfect name for that guy, 'Combustion Man!'" Willow said
"Good job, Willow. Now let's get outta here before Combustion Man catches us." Boscha said
"See? It fits so well!" Willow said
Later that night, the gang flies to another camp spot on Appa.
(Yawns.) "Well, I'm exhausted. Hawky, how about you, buddy?" (Hawky makes a bird call.) "Yeah. You're such a lazy little bird." Willow said
Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda and Camila get off Appa. Gus is about to dismount Appa, but is stopped by Boscha.
"Gus? I need your help." Boscha said
(Sits back down.) "What is it, Boscha?" Gus asked
(Pulls out a sheet of paper.) "I need you to write some things down for me. I wanna send a letter to my parents." Boscha said
(Smiling.) "I'll be happy to help." Gus said
They place a letter inside Hawky's holder and send him off as he flies away.
"Hey, where'd Hawky go?" Willow asked
