I don't own Star Wars: The Clone Wars or its characters, but I only own Nadia Aomori and my other OCs.

Enjoy!

Threads of Destiny

Chapter 33: The First Date

The apartment of Padmé Amidala was located in a high-rise, high-security Senate apartment complex in the upscale Federal District, one of many apartment buildings occupied by diplomatic staff from the millions of star systems enfranchised in the Senate. Although situated at the top of a grand apartment block and lavish by most standards, it was modest compared to many senatorial homes and lacked advanced security features.

On either side of the sitting room, transparisteel doors could retract to allow passage onto the small open-air balconies which overlooked the Senate District. Small tables were dotted with carefully placed art brought in from around the galaxy, as well as Padmé's homeworld, Naboo. Leading out of the sitting room were two hallways which led into the private chambers of the Senator.

Through one antechamber was the bedchamber which Senator Amidala occupied after late nights at the Senate. With a broad window on one side, the chamber was notably less defended than that of most Senators of her importance; a mattress sat in the center of the room, while a low table was situated just in front of it.

A Tarka-Null original sat on a small podium in one corner of the room.
Opposite the window was a closet, through which was a staircase leading out onto the veranda.

A large pillared area, the lightly furnished veranda was accessed by two staircases on either side of a central hallway which led further into the depths of the apartment.

Equipped with a sitting area with two sofas and a bubbling fountain, the room was illuminated by disk-shaped lamps at night, as well as a small illuminator. A wish globe was situated in a corner, while several handing orbs and vases dotted the darker corners of the room. At the mouth of the veranda was a small docking area for personal air-speeders to rest.

Flanked by two bronzium statues of Shiraya, the Moon Goddess of Naboo, the veranda's mouth was constantly guarded by a particle and energy shield which prevented attacks or accidental falls over the railing-less area.

The space between the simple white columns was filled with the plain white drapes that stretched from floor to ceiling.

In Padmé's bedroom, Nadia sat on a dressing tool and kept her eyes closed as the Naboo Senator was finishing up doing her hair for her first official date with Ferus.

Padmé wore a slinky, form-fitting dress with a low neckline. It was close-fitting until it reached her knees, where it fanned out. She wore silky black gloves that reached halfway up her upper arm. She also wore a gold neckband with several dangling beads. Her chocolate brown hair was pulled up into two buns on the sides of her head.

Once she finished doing Nadia's hair, Padmé carefully led Nadia to her wardrobe mirror.

"Okay, Nadia."Padmé remarked."You're ready."

Nadia opened her eyes to look herself in the mirror, only to become utterly stunned.

The Padawan of Obi-Wan Kenobi donned an elegant emerald green gown trimmed with buttercream roses and white ruffles. She wore white gloves that reached up to her elbows and around her neck was a frilly green necklace. A white bead chain goes around the middle of the necklace; the chain is decorated with tiny green roses and had a silver pendant with a green gem embedded into it attached. Her raven black hair was pulled into a side-tail with curled strands to match the shoulder-length forelock while the bangs were straight cut.

"Is that me?"Nadia asked in disbelief.

"Yes, it is."Padmé chuckled."And you look beautiful."

Nadia then looked at Padmé.

"You still look more beautiful."Nadia commented and became a bit nervous."I-I mean so do I and-"

"Nervous, aren't you?"Padmé assumed.

Nadia groaned lightly as she covered her face.

"Yeah."Nadia answered as she removed her hands from her face."Back on Corellia, I was a total tomboy. I hung out with boys and creating things with them using junk piled metals, but I'm utterly clueless when it comes to dating and relationships."

"You'll be just fine, Nadia."Padmé replied."Just be yourself."

A small yet bright smile then appeared on Nadia's face.

"Right."Nadia answered, feeling more confident than before."Thank you, Padmé."

Padmé then hugged Nadia from behind.

Outside…

The Monument Park, was a large plaza on the city-planet of Coruscant. The plaza circled the summit of Umate, one of the highest peaks of the Manarai Mountains. Thousands of tourists came to the plaza each day to touch the giant lump of rock in the center; it was said that Monument Plaza was the only place on Coruscant where people could touch bare rock.

The surrounding mall resembled a stadium with the peak of Umate standing in the center. Huge statues and colorful banners decorated the grounds, while restaurants and shops were built into the plaza walls. Amongst the popular sites in or near the plaza were the Manarai restaurant, the Galactic Museum, and the old Senate Hall.

Among the civilians was Ferus, waiting for Nadia to arrive.

Ferus wore a simple black suit coat with a light grey vest along a silver thin chain with a little red-purple gem, blue dress shirt and light silver tie. Underneath he wore black derby shoes. The white streak on his dark brown dyed brown like the rest of his hair.

Then Nadia walked up to Ferus, earning his attention.

Nadia wore a teal overcoat with a white frilly collar on the rims and white frilly cuffs on the sleeves to keep her warm due to being cold in the middle of the night.

"Hey, Ferus."Nadia greeted with a shy smile.

The Jedi Knight blushed a bit at seeing how beautiful his girlfriend was dressed.

"Nadia, you look-"Ferus started.

"I know."Nadia scoffed."It's too much."

Ferus plants a kiss on Nadia's cheek.

"Not really."Ferus responded."You look absolutely beautiful."

A pink blush crept on Nadia's face.

"Thanks."Nadia thanked shyly."You look great as well."

Ferus then offered Nadia his arm and she took it before they made their way to the Coruscant Opera.

The Coruscant Opera was the most prestigious and exclusive art house in the galaxy, the building itself was built in a baroque design that predated the formation of the Galactic Republic and included an actual orchestra pit.

The Opera's wealthiest patrons could reserve private viewing balconies with individual and levelled seating for all others.

For the less fortunate, the Opera included a group of built-in holorecorders which transmitted each performance live so that those who could not afford to physically attend could still view the show.

For tonight, the play that will be showed in the Corsucant Opera was the Brief Reign of Future Wraiths which was a popular Corellian opera underwritten by members of House Valorum; an ancient and distinguished family who originated from the Core Worlds.

After giving their tickets, Ferus and Nadia made their way inside the art house and into one of the viewing balconies which was where they were going to watch the play.

Once the couple sat on their seats like all the other people attending, the lights went off as the play of the Opera began.

Back at the Jedi Temple…

Ahsoka couldn't help, but keep smiling to herself as she laid against the bed in her private chamber.

Her best friend was going on her first official date with the guy she liked.

Perhaps it would've been a double date, if herself and Lux were-

Ahsoka immediately paused from her thoughts upon she was just thinking.

Lux Bonteri was just a friend to her.

Nothing else.

Though for some reason, Ahsoka couldn't help but think about Nadia's past.

It was utterly different from her own.

She was born on the planet Shili to the Togrutas Pav-ti and Nak-il Tano.

Early in her life, Ahsoka was taken on a journey by her mother, who taught her about life and death. During that period, the young girl encountered a raxshir feline, which she reached out to without fear. She proceeded to ride atop the animal to return home. Upon her return, the elder Togruta Gantika realised the infant was Force-sensitive and declared that she would be a Jedi.

By the time she became three years old, Ahsoka was discovered by Jedi Master Plo Koon among her people on Shili after her natural ability to sense the intentions and feelings of others had marked her as Force-sensitive.

Nadia's childhood started out as an amazing and happy one even if her parents' marriage was falling apart, but then it ended utterly tragic when a fire suddenly started at her best friend's house and killing her relatives.

Due to what happened to her in the past, Nadia told Ahsoka she was suffering from psychological guilt and trying to overcome the darkness inside her that intended to swallow her up.

Ahsoka came out of her thoughts as she turned to sleep on her right side.

"Don't worry, Dia."Ahsoka thought."I promise you won't have to suffer anymore after what happened to your family."

The moment the female Torguta said that, she fell into a deep sleep.

After the play in the Opera Art House ended, Ferus and Nadia went to eat together at the Skysitter Restaurant.

The Skysitter Restaurant was one of the most exclusive restaurants found in Galactic City on Coruscant during the last decades of the Galactic Republic. The Skysitter was located in the Ambassadorial Sector of the Senate District, near the Nicandra Counterrevolutionary Signalmen's Memorial Building.

The restaurant sat atop a 1,000 meter spire rising high above the cityscape, offering patrons an expansive view of the Republic City. The entire structure was built to rotate on its spire, allowing for a complete and panoramic vista. Only the wealthiest Senators could afford to eat in the opulent Skysitter establishment.

Nadia smiled as she stared at the night view of Coruscant from the window.

"Coruscant is gorgeous at night."Nadia remarked.

"Is it?"Ferus sneered."I wasn't looking at the city."

Nadia gives Ferus a small smirk before a female maid droid walked forward towards the couple's table and gave them their meal dishes.

After the droid left, the couple began to eat their food.

Nadia's meal was broiled Hammerfish glazed in a sweet sauce accompanied by Yobshrimp noodle salad and Burra fish caviar.

Ferus' meal contained pink-tinged, roasted slices of puffer pig with a brown-colored wrapping and a filling of fresh green herbs. Next to it was deviled bulabird eggs, Felucian glasscap mushrooms, Ferroan spinach, Bellassan peppers, Ojomian onions and topatoes.

The couple started eating their meals.

"You know, Padmé once took me to a similar restaurant, thinking I might like to try something new."Ferus admitted."I wound up disliking it."

"Oh?"Nadia replied smugly.

"Disliking it."Ferus commented."And not just the concept or the décor or the people, but…they made the cardinal mistake of refusing to serve deviled bulabird eggs on my dish."

Nadia smirked."Really?"

"I actually have deviled bulabird eggs on most of my meals and salad too."Ferus said with a small smile."The moment my birth mother Vanessa served them on a salad that I refused to eat, I grew in love with them."

"I was a bit more of a fussy eater when I was small."Nadia complemented as she twirled her noodle salad."My mum wouldn't let me go outside unless I ate everything in my dish. I would make up excuses like 'This fish has too many bones' or 'The puff pastry will make me gain weight'."

Ferus laughed lightly at his girlfriend's story.

"It sounds that your mother wanted to turn you into a lady. But I was more of a tomboy and…my older brother had more etiquette manners than I did."Nadia stated, feeling a bit of nostalgia within her."My mother was a quiet and constant source of love, but my father wasn't cut out for maternity. Not his fault, he couldn't do it, he was in love with someone else—infatuated, really. They just drifted apart and there was nothing either of us could do about it. Their encounter wasn't love at first sight, but I do remember they made each other laugh. If my dad and her had had a strong marriage, things would've ended differently."

Nadia then changed the subject, not wanting to become tearful and ruin her date with Ferus.

"So, Ferus, tell me about your adopted family."Nadia insisted with a small yet bright smile."What are they like?"

"My adopted parents Ruwee and Jobal Naberrie are loving and treat me like I was their flesh and blood since they always wanted a son."Ferus explained."And you know I have another older sister beside Padmé. Sola."

"I remember her, you mentioned her when we first met and during our trip to Alderaan last year."Nadia praised before eating a bit of her Hammerfish."What is she like?"

"She's amazing, but prefers living a domestic life than the one like me and Padmé that's filled with danger and excitement. She's married to Darred Janren, an architect from Naboo. They were fellow students at the university my dad works at and the two were married after their graduation. I was eight years old by that time."Ferus explained as thought about his adopted relatives."After their wedding, Sola and Darred knew the Naberrie name was well-known within the social and political circles of Naboo and decided to keep it as the family name. They have two daughters, Ryoo and Pooja."

"Aw, you're an uncle along with Anakin while Padme is an aunt."Nadia chuckled.

A small blush crept on Ferus' face.

"Yeah and they're the most amazing wonderful kids."Ferus replied as he rubbed the back on his neck."Though they usually call me 'Uncle Fairy' instead of my real name."

Nadia laughed lightly at Ferus' story.

"Uncle Fairy."Nadia complemented as she held her glass cup of Riosa Punch to take a sip from it."Though I think they should call you 'Uncle Wistie'. You know after those fire sprites or firefolk, who were a small, radiant and sentient fairy-like flying species that were native to the Forest Moon of Endor."

"Drop it."Ferus grumbled."You're making it worse."

"Chill out."Nadia sneered."I'm only joking."

Nadia took another sip from her punch while Ferus ate a bit more of his puffer pig meat.

"You know it wouldn't be a bad thing if we end up leaving the Jedi Order and live a normal life like Sola is, if the Clone Wars continue."Nadia stated honestly."I mean Jedi are supposed to be peacekeepers, not soldiers."

Ferus placed his hand onto Nadia's, making the raven haired girl look at him.

"So do I, Nadia."Ferus answered."But it seems the more we fight, the more people think the Jedi are the bad guys like Lux's friends do and wind up joining Count Dooku and the Separatists since they have no clue about Darth Sidious."

A small scoff escaped from Nadia's mouth.

"Ferus, do you get the feeling that the Jedi Code is leading them away from the path of peace?"Nadia questioned."I mean it won't be a bad thing if they followed the Corellian Jedi Code instead of one that makes them emotionless."

"You're right."Ferus said with a small smile."Maybe not now, but perhaps in the near future all the Jedi will follow the Corellian Jedi Code after the Clone Wars end when we kill Darth Sidious."

Nadia smiled before she and Ferus share a small yet passionate kiss before the two of them continued enjoying their meals.

However, not far from the young couple sat were Anakin and Padmé, who were sitting on their own table at the Skysitter Restaurant.

Anakin was dressed up as a noble man and kept his lightsaber hidden, so people wouldn't recognise him.

"It seems those two are hitting it off."Anakin responded smugly.

Padmé lightly giggled at Anakin's response.

"Those two are meant for each other."Padmé said with a soft yet confident voice, glancing at her little brother and his girlfriend, who began chatting together."I'm sure of it."

In the Office of the Supreme Chancellor…

Chancellor Palpatine angrily muses to Mas Amedda about the success one passionate voice can have over his own power, showing his true face for the first time.

Padmé stepped before the Senate and delivered an impromptu and passionate speech, recounting the problems of the simple people (like her handmaiden Teckla's family) due to the financial strain the war has already brought upon the Republic, arguing that the bill's passage would harm the citizens of the Republic they've sworn to protect.

The speech won reluctant favour and respect from the entire Senate.

"Isn't it remarkable, that one can have all the power in the galaxy, and yet the words of a single senator, can sway the thoughts of millions?"Chancellor Palpatine asked with a small glare.

"What do you plan to do about this?"Mas Amedda asked.

"For now, we must adhere to the principles of our democracy."Chancellor Palpatine suggested."We must let the wheels of the Senate turn."

Yes.

Chancellor Palpatine would keep 'playing along' with the corrupted yet utterly blind Jedi Council and the Jedi Order until their usefulness was no longer ended.

Also, he decided to wait until their fate and in the end, the Senate will work in his own favour once again.

But before any of that, he had to first become closer to his most valued pawns; Anakin Skywalker and Nadia Aomori.

Perhaps those two could end up being the keys that will lead to the Jedi Order's undoing.

A 'Feadia' (Ferus x Nadia's Ship Name) with a hint of Anidala;) Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. Next chapter will be Nadia back in action with her fellow Jedi.
