Motostoke Gym Battles (Part Three)
"Poliwag, Bubble Beam!" said Luna. Poliwag unleashes a stream of blue bubbles from his mouth, and they hit a Litwick, dealing super effective damage and knocking it out. "Right on, Poliwag." Poliwag smiles in response, then freezes up and begins to glow. "No way, Poliwag's evolving!" Poliwag began to change shape. When the glowing stopped, Poliwag was taller, he had legs and arms with white gloved hands and had bulbous eyes. Luna takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the newly evolved Poliwag.
"Poliwhirl, the Tadpole Pokemon, and the evolved form of Poliwag. This Pokémon's sweat is a slimy mucus. When captured, Poliwhirl can slither from its enemies' grasp and escape." said Luna's Rotom Phone.
"Congratulations, dude." Luna says to Poliwhirl. Poliwhirl looks at his hand and makes rocking horns with it, prompting Luna to do the same. A staff member walks to Luna.
"Congratulations, Challenger Luna, you have earned enough points to pass the Gym Test." said the staff member.
"Yeah!" cheered Luna.
Moments later at the stadium pitch, Luna and Kabu were facing each other while his family and friends watched from the stands and back in Royal Woods.
"It was so righteous that Luna's Poliwag evolved." said Sam.
"I'll say; I liked that 'slimy mucus' part my Rotom Phone said about him." said Lana.
"Go, Luna!" said Lincoln. Back in Royal Woods.
"Luna's up now." said Lynn Sr.
"You can do it, Luna." said Rita.
"Go get Kabu, Luna." said Lynn Jr. Back in Motostoke Stadium, a referee walks to the center of the pitch.
"This Gym Battle is between the Gym Leader, Kabu; and the Gym Challenger, Luna Loud." said the official. "Both trainers will each use three Pokemon; whoever manages to defeat all the other trainer's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the battle begin." said the official before he walks to the sidelines. Luna and Kabu then walk to opposite ends of the arena and each take out a pokeball. Luna throws hers, releasing her Gigalith; and Kabu throws his, releasing his Ninetales.
"Ninetales, Will-O-Wisp!" said Kabu. Ninetales raises up its tails and a purple flame appears on each end of them. They fly at Gigalith and they hit him. Gigalith becomes covered in fire.
"Don't let Will-O-Wisp keep you down, dude!" said Luna. Gigalith lets out a yell and the flames were expelled from him, surprising Kabu. "You rock, Gigalith; now do some more rockin' with Rock Slide!" Gigalith's body glows white and white glowing rings appeared above him. Large gray rocks come out of them and onto Ninetales, dealing super effective damage. Ninetales struggles to get back on its feet.
"Ninetales, Ember!" said Kabu. Ninetales unleashes glowing embers from its mouth and they hit Gigalith, but not doing much damage to him.
"Gigalith, use Smack Down!" said Luna. Gigalith forms a ball of golden energy in front of its face and launches it at Ninetales, hitting it and dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Ninetales is unable to battle. Gigalith wins the match." said the referee.
"Luna's Gigalith had defeated Kabu's Ninetales. What will Kabu do now?" asked the announcer.
"Way to go, Luna!" said Ronnie Anne. Back at Royal Woods.
"Man, that Ninetales wasn't even a challenge to Gigalith." said Lynn Jr.
"Yes, especially since Gigalith has the advantage in both offense and defense over fire Pokemon." said Lisa. Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu returns Ninetales to its pokeball.
"You rest now, Ninetales." said Kabu. He puts Ninetales pokeball away and pulls out another pokeball. "Go, Arcanine!" He throws Arcanine's pokeball and releases it. "Arcanine, use Bite!" Arcanine leaps at Gigalith.
"Iron Defense!" said Luna. Gigalith's body glows white and it shines, increasing his defense before Arcanine bites him, but not doing much damage and also not making him flinch.
"Gigalith, Power Gem!" said Luna. The crystal in the middle of Gigalith's head glows red and a red beam of energy fires out of it and it hits Arcanine, dealing super effective damage.
"Arcanine, use Bite again!" said Kabu. Arcanine runs at Gigalith and bites him, but not doing much damage to him due to his increased defense, but making him flinch. "Flame Wheel!" Arcanine runs at Gigalith while its body becomes surrounded by fire and tackles Gigalith, but not doing much damage.
"Headbutt!" said Luna. Gigalith swings his head forward and it hits Arcanine, damaging it, and making it flinch. "Smack Down!" Gigalith forms another ball of golden energy and launches it at Arcanine at point blank, hitting it and dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Arcanine is unable to battle. Gigalith wins the match." said the referee.
"Luna's Gigalith had beaten another one of Kabu's Pokemon. Now Luna just needs to beat Kabu's final Pokemon to win this match." said the announcer.
"Man, Luna's doing great!" said Lana.
"She sure is." said Lola. Back at Royal Woods.
"Man, Kabu should just give up now and give Luna the Fire Badge." said Lynn Jr.
"Kabu literally doesn't stand a chance." said Lori.
"Kabu doesn't look like the type of person to give up so easily though." said Lynn Sr.
"He certainly doesn't." said Rita. Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu returns Arcanine to its pokeball.
"You did well, Arcanine." said Kabu. He puts Arcanine's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "I must say, Challenger Luna, your Gigalith is well trained."
"Thanks, dude." said Luna.
"Even so, I will see this battle to the very end." said Kabu. "Centiskorch, go!" He throws Centiskorch's pokeball and releases it. Kabu then returns Centiskorch to its pokeball and uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge it. He throws it and releases a now Gigantimaxed Centiskorch. Luna returns Gigalith to his pokeball and she uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it. She throws it and releases her now Dynamaxed Gigalith.
"Luna has Dynamaxed her Gigalith while Kabu has Gigantimaxed his Centiskorch. How will this battle end?" asked the announcer.
"Centiskorch, Max Flare!" said Kabu. Centiskorch unleashes a massive stream of fire from its mouth and it hits Gigalith, not doing much damage to it. Bright sunlight fills the stadium.
"Because of Max Flare, there's now strong sunlight in this room, so now Centiskorch's fire attacks will become even stronger." said Lincoln.
"It'll take more than that to stop Luna." said Lola.
"Not a chance." said Lana.
"Gigalith, Max Rockfall!" said Luna. A massive stone tablet rises up from the ground and it falls onto Centiskorch, dealing massive damage to it. A sandstorm suddenly appears in the stadium.
"Good thing rock Pokemon like Gigalith are immune to sandstroms." said Lincoln.
"Too bad for Centiskorch, it isn't." said Clyde. Centiskorch get hit with sand, hurting it.
"Don't give up, Centiskorch, use Max Flare again!" said Kabu. Centiskorch unleashes an even stronger stream of fire and it hits Gigalith, dealing a little more damage than the previous Max Flare.
"Max Quake!" said Luna. Gigalith sinks into the ground and releases a shockwave that sends pieces of the ground flying at Centiskorch, hitting it and dealing super effective damage to it. Centiskorch shrinks back to its normal size and passes out.
"Centiskorch is unable to battle. Gigalith wins the match. The winner of this battle is the challenger, Luna Luan." said the referee.
"She's done it! Luna's Gigalith has defeated all three of Kabu's Pokemon to earn Luna the victory!" said the announcer.
"Yeah!" said Luna. Gigalith returns to his regular size. "You've done enough rockin, Gigalith, now it's my turn!" She takes out her guitar and begins jamming on it, making people in the audience make rocking horns on their hands, including Lincoln and his friends and sisters, even everyone in Royal Woods do the same while bobbing their heads. Kabu returns Centiskorch to its pokeball.
"You did well, my friend." said Kabu. He puts Centiskorch's pokeball away and walks to Luna, which makes her stop jamming. "That was an excellent battle, Luna."
"Thanks, dude." said Luna. Kabu reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Fire Badge.
"For your victory here today, I hereby reward you with the Fire Badge." said Kabu. He gives Luna the Fire Badge, as well as pokedollars.
"Yeah!" said Luna, holding up her Fire Badge. "The Fire Badge is mine!" She puts the Fire Badge in her pocket and begins jamming on her guitar some more.
Moments later, Luna was in the lobby, being congratulated by Lincoln, their sisters, and friends.
"You were amazing, Luna." said Lincoln.
"That was awesome." said Sam.
"You took Kabu down, easily." said Lola.
"Thanks, dudes and dudettes." said Luna. A staff member approaches the group.
"Will any of you be facing Kabu next?" asked the staff member.
"I totes will." said Leni, stepping forward.
"When you're ready, you may enter the Gym Test area." said the staff member.
"Do your best, Leni." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, Linky." said Leni. She then enters the test area and successfully passes by defeating six Pokemon to earn the necessary points.
Once she was done, she heads out onto the pitch where Kabu was waiting for her.
"Your sisters and friends are quite impressive trainers, young lady." said Kabu.
"Thanks, Mr. Kabu." said Leni.
"You can do it, Leni!" said Lana.
"Show Kabu who's boss!" said Lola. Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud house was watching with anticipation.
"Do you think Leni can win?" asked Lynn Sr.
"Well, Leni has done well so far, and she did watch her sisters and Ronnie Anne battle, so at least she knows some of Kabu's moves." said Lori.
"We hope that will give Leni a big enough edge to win." said Rita.
Back at Motostoke Stadium, Leni and Kabu go to opposite sides of the field, just as the official steps to the center of it.
"This Gym Battle is between the Gym Leader, Kabu; and the Gym Challenger, Leni Loud." said the official. "Both trainers will each use three Pokemon; whoever manages to defeat all the other trainer's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the battle begin." said the official before he walks to the sidelines. Leni and Kabu then walk to opposite ends of the arena and each take out a pokeball. Leni throws hers, releasing her Goldeen; and Kabu throws his, releasing his Ninetales.
"Ninetales, use Will-O-Wisp!" said Kabu. Ninetales summons up several small purple fireballs over the tips of her tails and launches them at Goldeen, but they sizzle out upon contact with her.
"And Ninetales' Will-O-Wisp fizzles out! What happened?" asked the announcer.
"I think Goldeen's ability is Water Veil." said Leni. "My sister said it makes it so that Goldeen can't be burned."
"That's a good ability to have against a fire type user." said Kabu.
"Totes." replied Leni. "Goldeen, use Water Pulse!" Goldeen releases a watery shockwave from her body which hits Ninetales, doing super effective damage. It then starts to stagger around dizzily.
"And Ninetales is confused now. How will Kabu handle this situation?" asked the announcer.
"Ninetales, use Incinerate!" said Kabu. Ninetales tries to gather energy for the attack, but it loses control of it and ends up getting hurt in the process.
"Goldeen, use Aqua Ring!" said Leni. Goldeen swims through the air in a big circle, making a ring of water appear around her.
"Ninetales, use Incinerate again!" said Kabu. This time, Ninetales manages to unleash the attack and it hits Goldeen, not doing much damage.
"Goldeen, use Horn Attack!" said Leni. Goldeen floats quickly towards Ninetales and rams into it, horn first, doing enough damage to knock it out.
"Ninetales is unable to battle. Goldeen is the winner." said the official.
"You were, totes, great, Goldeen." said Leni. Goldeen's Aqua Ring activates, restoring some of her stamina.
"And Leni's Goldeen defeats Kabu's Ninetales! Can it keep up the momentum?" asked the announcer.
"Awesome job, Leni!" said Lincoln.
"Keep it up!" said Lola.
"You can do it!" said Ronnie Anne. A notification appears on Leni's Rotom Phone, making her look at it.
"Hey, my Goldeen just learned Flail." said Leni.
Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud house was cheering Leni.
"She's doing great so far." said Lynn Sr.
"I hope she can win." said Rita.
"Believe in her, Mom." said Lori.
Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu returns Ninetales to its pokeball.
"Rest up, Ninetales." said Kabu. He then puts Ninetales' pokeball away and pulls out another one; he then throws it, releasing his Arcanine.
"And Kabu brings out his Arcanine! Can it beat Leni's Goldeen?" asked the announcer.
"Arcanine, Extreme Speed!" said Kabu. Arcanine moves at Goldeen at fast speed and slams into her, sending her flying.
"Goldeen, are you okay?" asked Leni. Goldeen nods that she was fine. "Use Flail!" Goldeen starts flailing around, hitting Arcanine in the process, doing a good amount of damage. After that, the Aqua Ring restores some of her stamina.
"Arcanine, use Bite!" said Kabu. Arcanine goes over to Goldeen and bites down on her.
"Goldeen, use Water Pulse!" said Leni. Goldeen releases another watery shock wave which hits Arcanine, doing super effective damage. Aqua Ring then restores more of her stamina.
"Arcanine, hit it with another Extreme Speed!" said Kabu. Arcanine hits Goldeen with another high speed attack. Leni looks at Goldeen with concern as she was struggling to stay in the air.
"And Goldeen looks like its barely hanging on." said the announcer. "What will Leni do now?"
"Goldeen, use Flail one more time!" said Leni. Goldeen uses a lot of her stamina to strike Arcanine hard with her tail, doing enough damage to knock it out.
"Arcanine is unable to battle. Goldeen is the winner." said the official.
"And Leni's Goldeen is able to pull off a win against Kabu's mighty Arcanine!" said the announcer.
"That was a close one." said Lana.
"Good thing Flail becomes stronger the less stamina the Pokemon using it has." said Lincoln.
"I hope Goldeen will be okay." said Lola.
Back at the Loud house, everyone looked at Goldeen with concern.
"She looks like she barely has any energy left." said Rita.
"Leni better do something quick." said Luan.
Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu was returning his Arcanine to its pokeball.
"You fought well, Arcanine." said Kabu. Leni looks at Goldeen and comes to a decision, returning her to her pokeball.
"And Leni's returns Goldeen to her pokeball. What is she planning?" asked the announcer.
"Why did Leni return her Goldeen?" asked Lana.
"Leni saw that Goldeen was barely hanging on." said Lincoln. "She did the right thing."
"What Pokemon will she use now?" asked Luna. Leni and Kabu each pull out another pokeball; Kabu throws his, releasing his Centiskorch; Leni throws hers, releasing her Vulpix.
"And Kabu releases his Centiskorch, while Leni lets out a Vulpix." said the announcer.
"Why would Leni use Vulpix?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"It's the best move she can make in this situation right now." said Linocln. "Vulpix is a fire type, so has a defensive advantage against fire and bug type moves; and since Centiskorch is part bug, fire type moves should have be able to do a decent amount of damage to it."
Leni and Kabu then return their Pokemon to their pokeballs, then use their Dynamax Bands to enlarge them; they then throw them, releasing their now Dynamaxed Pokemon. Suddenly, the area fills with intense sunlight.
"Good." said Lincoln. "Vulpix's Drought ability has activated; now her fire type moves will be a lot stronger now." Back on the pitch, Leni and Kabu were ready for battle.
"Vulpix, use Max Flare!" said Leni. Vulpix releases a blast of fire which hits Centiskorch, doing a good amount of damage to it.
"Centiskorch, use G-Max Centiferno!" said Kabu. Centiskorch bunches its body together and releases its own blast of fire, hitting Vulpix, and not doing a lot of damge to her, but making fire appear from beneath her, which suddenly damage.
"Leni should hurry before that move takes Vulpix out." said Luna.
"Vulpix, keep using Max Flare!" said Leni. Vulpix does so and keeps using Max Flare on Centiskorch.
"Centiskorch, keep using G-Max Centiferno!" said Kabu. Both Pokemon kept hitting each other with their respective moves. After about a minute, Centiskorch's energy explodes and it returns to its normal size, unconscious.
"Centiskorch is unable to battle. Vulpix is the winner. Which means the winner of the match is the Gym Challenger, Leni Loud!" said the official.
"And she's done it! Leni's Vulpix was able to beat Kabu's Centiskorch and earn her the victory." said the announcer.
"Leni won!" said Lola.
"I knew she would!" said Lana.
"She did well." said Lucy.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was celebrating Leni's victory.
"She won!" said Lynn Jr.
"I was worried for a minute there." said Rita.
"We all were." said Lynn Sr.
Back at Motostoke, Vulpix returns to normal, then runs over to Leni and leaps into her arms.
"You were, totes, amazing, Vulpix." said Leni as she hugs Vulpix. Kabu returns his Centiskorch to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Centiskorch." said Kabu. He then puts the pokeball back onto his belt and walks over to Leni. "You trained your Pokemon well, young lady."
"Thanks." said Leni with a smile. Kabu then takes out a Fire Badge from his pocket.
"As proof of your victory, I present you with this Fire Badge." said Kabu as she hands it, along with some pokedollars to Leni.
"Yay! I got the Fire Badge!" said Leni. The crowd roars with applause.
Later in the lobby, Leni's friends and family were congratulating her on her win.
"You were awesome, Leni." said Lincoln.
"That was intense." said Clyde.
"We believed in you." said Lucy from behind Leni, scaring her. A staff member walks over to them.
"So who's up next?" asked the staff member.
"I'm up." said Clyde as he steps forward.
"Very well." said the staff member. "If you would follow me to the test area." Clyde nods and does as instructed.
Now Luna and Leni have earned their Fire Badges. Will Clyde be able to do the same?
