Hello everyone, welcome to a new chapter of The Dark Knight called Second Meeting with Laurel. Here we'll see Damian meeting up with Laurel again and she notices some things about him and also how he tells her some of the things he does to help the city.

Second Meeting with Laurel

[Starling City - The next day - With Laurel in her office at CNRI]

Laurel was tapping her foot non-stop. Now she can be a patient woman and likes to wait for someone that was supposed to meet her. But she feels like she just got dumped.

She looks down at her watch and sees it was past 12 and Damian hasn't shown up yet.

Now there could be a lot of reasons why he isn't here: Maybe he had a meeting, maybe he was late, maybe he was working on something. But Laurel now feels she just got dumped.

But that turned out to be wrong, "Hey Laurel" Someone greets her.

Laurel turns around to see it was Damian, who was wearing workout gear and she also noticed he looked a little bit tired. 'He must've worked out before he got here.' Laurel thought to herself.

Giving him a smile, "Hey Damian. I was beginning to think you wouldn't show up." Laurel commented. Though she did notice that there were bruise marks on his knuckles. "What happened to your knuckles?" Laurel asked Damian.

Damian looks down at his knuckles, as he knew Laurel would notice that, "Oh that, I was hitting a punching bag, and believe me it was a hard-punching bag." Damian tells her.

But the truth was he punched some large men last night, as Damian had to give them a few more punches to keep them down for good. So that's why he had these bruises. He made a mental note to wear an extra pair of gloves under his other ones so that way his bruises aren't noticeable.

Pushing that aside, "So Laurel, how has your day been going?" Damian asked. He already knew how her day has been thanks to the tracker, but he played it off that if he had no clue what she's been doing for the rest of the day.

Laurel stacks up some paperwork as she tells Damian about her day, "Nothing much, a few hours ago I was working on a case that involved a husband terrorizing his wife, which made it easy for us to place him in jail and sure he didn't get out on parole. But now we're dealing with something else."

"And what would that be?" Damian asked, but he already knows what Laurel and her team are dealing with. It is him after all.

Laurel looks at him, "There were sightings of Batman in the city last night and my boss wants me and my team to look into this. But this is getting everyone in the city worried that Batman's Rouges might cause havoc if they show up here to get his attention."

Unknown to her, Damian narrowed his eyes at this, because what Laurel said was indeed true. He knew that sooner or later his father's rouges show up here, but he was going to be ready for them when the time does come.

"It's alright, Laurel. If they do show up, then I'm pretty sure Batman can take care of them and drive them back to Gotham just like that." Damian finishes this by snapping his fingers.

Laurel was unsure of this, "Ok if you say so." Laurel says to Damian, as she finishes up with her paperwork. "So Damian, what have you been doing lately?" Laurel asked.

"Well, I've been helping out the city by giving some of the school's new school supplies, and started helping some of the poor people in the glades." Damian listed off some of the things he did with his fingers.

Laurel smiled at this. She was glad Damian was helping out people during his downtime in the city, but she had this deep feeling that Damian was doing more for this city that she is unaware of. Damian sees the look he was getting from Laurel and knew if she was in on his secret, that would make her a huge target for his enemies.

Shaking his head at this, "Anyway Laurel this was a fun talk, but I have to be at a meeting in a few hours. Anyway, I'll see you around and I hope you and your team do a great job on the whole Batman situation."

Laurel nods at this, "Ok I'll see around Damian." Laurel waves him goodbye, as she headed to an office meeting with her co-workers.

"You too." With that said Damian leaves CNRI and gets in his car, which was a black ford mustang.

But unaware to Damia, someone was watching him. This person lets off a laugh, "Hahaha, little Batman Jr is going to be in for a surprise when he gets to meet me. Now that I think about it, did his old man tell him about me? Whether or not he did, he's soon going to find out." And just like that the person who was watching Damian disappears, as this person can already tell Damian is going to be pissed off once he sees him.

He is Batman and Batman Jr's biggest fan after all.

This chapter was short, but we got to see Damian and Laurel talk over some things, with the ending of someone who's watching over Damian. Who is this person? And why is this person Damian and his Father's biggest fan? You'll just have to wait for the upcoming chapters for that to happen.
