Summary: After unfortunately letting Snart and Mick get away to save Iris's life, Barry decided that it's time to train his speed to get faster since his fighting skills are nearly up to Oliver's level and his abilities are what he can work with at the moment since he haven't time traveled yet in order to improve them farther. But before he can do that, he'll have to take care of Plastique and General Eiling first.

Intro

My name is Barry Allen and I am the fastest man alive. After waking up in this strange new world and in the body of Barry Allen no less, after some intense thinking, I've ultimately decided to stay and accepted my new identity as Barry to see if I have what it takes to be a true hero, there dangers lurking in every corners of the city and with my knowledge of how things will go down I am the only one fast enough to stop them. I am The Flash.

-Few Days After The Fight With Captain Cold-

After The Flash's last confrontation with Snart aka Captain Cold, and at the last minute Heatwave, he came to a startling realization that the criminals he's facing are now different then how they're supposed to be in the series, Iris getting kidnapped by Mick wasn't supposed to happen and he certainly wasn't supposed to have his heat gun just yet, perhaps they're getting smarter then how they're supposed to have been. Or maybe "someone" is helping them get better at trying to defeat The Flash.

"Thawne was definitely been behind it but with no proof or solid evidence I can't just accuse the bastard, no matter how much I really want to." Thought Barry.

With that said, Barry had decided to go to a bar with Cisco, Caitlin, Iris and Eddie in order to relax for a few hours and have some fun but to his dismay he remembered that he couldn't drink alcohol as it didn't have an effect on him due to his high metabolism so he'll have to fake it till he gets Caitlin to create that serum that allows him to drink alcohol and get drunk again.

"Ah one of the many downsides of being the fastest man alive: I can't get drunk. Really is a bummer that Speedsters can't get drunk but I suppose that's a given as I wouldn't want to drink and run, I could see the headlines already: The Flash is drunk? Stay tuned for more information about the fastest man alive being drunk at 9:00 am on channel 5" Bemused Barry.

While Barry, Caitlin and Cisco were talking about Barry's drinking problem and watching Eddie and Iris have fun, Eddie's phone got an alert on his phone signaling that an explosion went off downtown on 8th and pass. With Eddie kissing Iris goodbye as he went to go deal with the situation, with Iris once again following Eddie to see the situation for herself for some unknown reason, Barry thought it was a good time to test out his newly created Flash Ring that he partially created when he was creating his Flash suit.

"Really hoping I got all the bugs worked out." Thought Barry as he flashed back to when he was creating his Ring.

-Flashback to when Barry was creating his suit-

As Barry was putting the finishing touches on his suit, he thought about creating his Flash Ring since A) he's not gonna be with Iris so no Nora-West-Allen to bring him the ring from the future and B) he didn't want to leave his suit on the mannequin 24/7 in case someone just blindly walks into STAR Labs.

"Seriously, what were the writers of the show smoking to think that, it's like they wanted random ass people to walk into the building and know Barry Allen is The Flash. Now then, back to the matter at hand, creating my ring isn't the problem as I can forge my ring together using the wedding rings of my mother and father. The problem is figuring out how I can put my suit back into my ring, perhaps if I use a specially emitted gas it could theoretically suck my suit back into the ring and fling it out with the force of nine air bags when I thrust my arm out so I can speed into it without any difficulties. Or if that doesn't work, I could try to use The Speed Force's electromagnetic properties to create a thermal expansion that can allow my suit to grow and shrink at my command, better then nothing I suppose, I can only hope it'll work." Thought Barry.

A few practice trials and errors later, with Barry cussing and screaming out loud when it did fail, he had successfully gotten the suit into and out of the ring with no real issues.

-Flash forward back to present-

"Now it's time for the real test, here goes." Thought Barry.

With that said, Barry, after leaving the bar and going into the back alley where's no one is watching, digs his Flash ring out his pocket, placing it on his right hand wedding ring finger and hoping for the best, thrusts his arm out and as if on command, his ring opened up and out came his suit and expanding it to full size, before it hits the ground however, Barry speeds into it and before you know it The Flash is racing towards the building to help whoever is in trouble.

"Oh thank god and Jesus Christ that worked!, I was 89% sure it would and 11% sure it would fail." Thought Flash as he speeds towards 8th and Pass.

When Flash got there he saw that there was a man hanging from a partially destroyed window washer and if he wasn't caught soon he'd fall to his death.

"Caitlin, Cisco, there's a man hanging from a window washer, I'm gonna try and run up the building to catch him before he falls and bring him to safety." Said Flash.

"Wait Barry we don't know if your body is capable of handling that type of pressure on the way down and the G force alone could do irreversible damage and-" Caitlin was saying but was interrupted by Flash.

"Look it doesn't matter what happens to me right now, remember that I heal much quicker then the average human, if I don't do this right now he'll die!" "The one thing I forgot to practice on, how reckless of me."

"Barry wait, I'm doing the calculations right now to determine how fast you'd have to run up the building and-"Like with Caitlin, Cisco was also interrupted.

"Cisco! *signs* Look I've done the calculations, I know how much I need to be running up the building to maintain my velocity and Caitlin if I'm right the G Force won't affect me as much so you both have to just trust me on this."

"...We trust you Barry, go get 'em." Said Caitlin and Cisco respectively after deciding to believe in Barry.

With that said The Flash races up towards the building to catch the guy before he falls to his death, not knowing that Iris West was behind him recording everything she saw with a shocked and awed expression.

When The Flash brought the man down to safety, with no harm done to him or the man, got ready to run back to STAR Labs, but he saw that Iris West was in front of him and immediately vibrated his face to further hide his identity while also vibrating his vocal cords to disguise his voice.

"Hey, you're the daughter of that cop who was taken hostage last week aren't you?" Said Flash.

"Y-yes, yes I am." Stuttered Iris, trying to form a response as The Flash is right in front of her.

"I see, well you might want to get out of here before the police arrives, speaking of I gotta go, take care citizen." Said Flash.

With that said The Flash sped off back towards STAR Labs to find out what caused the explosion and who did it. Meanwhile the still awestruck Iris West gets home and uploads the video she took of The Flash to her blog to further write about him.

With The Flash he had only a few things to say about the explosion.

"So it seems like that Bette Sans Souci aka Plastique is here in town and with her in town Eiling isn't that far behind, this time I'll find a way to keep her alive. I promise her that" Thought Flash.

Time Skip

By the time morning came around, Barry, Joe, and the CCPD officers were at the scene of the explosion, trying to determine what caused the explosion and who did it, with Barry saying how that there was no signs of a bomb going off, but Eddie said how the security guard said that were sightings of a woman with red hair at the scene of the explosion, so Barry, when alone in a filing cabinet room, discreetly used his speed to find a file that the woman must've been looking for.

Back at the CCPD, Joe and Eddie saw military officers surrounding Singh's office to prevent anyone from interrupting the discussion between Captain Singh and General Wade Eiling.

When Joe asked what was going on, Singh explained how the army is taking over the bombing investigation as the woman who caused it was one of Eiling's officers, with Eiling demanding all of the information that they have, physical evidence, photographs, witness interviews and all their personal notes.

Joe was hesitant till Singh told him to give Eiling what he wants, with a smirking Eiling looking at Joe with a smug look.

Meanwhile, Barry, who was on his way down, heard everything that was going on, raced back upstairs into his lab and using his speed he recreated all of the information he had about the investigation, putting the second copy of everything regarding the bomb investigation on a hard drive which he put in his pocket and putting the original information in a box to take downstairs and give to the army officers.

"You're not fooling anyone Eiling, I already know why you're here and I will stop you before you can try to kill Bette or try to recruit her." Thought Barry as he went back downstairs with the box in hand.

"Hey Barry, the army is here to-" Said Joe but he was interrupted by Barry. "Don't worry Joe, I heard everything from my lab, here you go sir, all the information concerning the bomb investigation is in the box" Said Barry as he handed the box to the military officer.

With a nod the military walked out since they got what they came here for, with Joe looking concerned when Barry didn't try to use his speed to get anything from the box.

"Barry, why didn't you try to get something from the box? You could've taken it back to STAR Labs and have them take a look to see if they could find anything." Said Joe in a whisper tone of voice.

"Don't worry Joe, I got it covered, since I heard everything when I was coming downstairs, I raced back to my labs and used my speed discreetly to make a copy of everything regarding the bombing investigation and it's all right here on this dumb drive." Said Barry as he pulled out the drive to show to Joe.

"Damn, nicely done Barry, makes me wonder if you should be a cop instead of CSI." Said Joe, impressed that Barry was able to fool the military while also cooperating with them at the same time.

"Heh, nah that's your job Joe, my job is being a CSI and The Flash, speaking off I should go deliver the hard drive to STAR Labs and see if we can find anything useful." Said Barry

With that said both men went separate ways, Barry to STAR Labs to deliver the drive and uncover who was behind the bombing and Joe to go talk to Iris about why she's writing about The Flash for her blog instead of literally anything else.

While Barry went to go deliver the drive to STAR Labs and discussed with Cisco about how he created his ring since Cisco was impressed with it, Joe went home to talk to Iris about how Officer Vukuvich saw her at the scene of the explosion.

"Iris, this is the second time you've showed up at a scene where The Flash is involved, why are you so obsessed with writing about him to the point where you'd put your life in danger?" Said Joe as he's concerned about the number of times Iris has put her life in danger to write about The Flash.

"I-well I'm not obsessed per se but, see there's an event/job offer available at Central City Picture News and the way to win the event and get the job is write a blog about The Flash and about how he's doing good in this city and if the blog is good enough then I'd have won the event and have gotten a job at CCPN, see Dad I want to be a journalist and I feel this is the only way how to get to be one." Said Iris as she explains why she's always writing about The Flash for her blog.

"I see...so you really want to be a journalist huh?" Asked Joe as he thought over what she said.

"Yes Dad, I really do." Said Iris.

"And how long did you say this event/job offer lasts?"Said Joe.

"They said it lasts till January 30" Said Iris.

"I see, then I want you to take a break from the blog and focus on your actual job, please Iris, do it for me, I'd feel a lot better knowing you're not putting your life on the line 24/7 and I'm sure Eddie feels the same if you told him what you just told me." Said Joe

"But I-...*signs* fine Dad, for you and Eddie, I'll take a break from my blog for a bit, I promise, but after that I will continue writing about The Flash." Said Iris.

"Thats all I can hope for and hey, for what it's worth I do hope you get the job offer Iris."

"Thanks Dad." Smiled Iris, happy her dad is somewhat ok with this.

"You're welcome Iris, now then, what you say me and you have some quality father-daughter time? It's been a while"

"Yea sure." Said Iris.

With that said and done, Joe and Iris leave the house to spend some time together and reminisce about how much has changed since the particle accelerator exploded.

-Meanwhile-

With Barry, he was able to determine that Bette was a meta-human after an encounter with her that lead to her almost blowing up his Flash Suit and by extension his ring but he managed to dodge in time so instead she took a garbage lid, touched it and threw it at him and it exploded to force some distance between them, allowing her to get away.

"I mean I already knew that she was a meta-human but still, I try to help her with her Eiling situation and she decides to retaliate by nearly blowing up my suit? The fuck Bette, I've put a lot of hard work and effort into my suit and my ring! Geez, now I get how Cisco felt about it, although I won't be as dramatic about it" Thought Barry.

As Barry got back to STAR Labs and informed the others about how Bette is a meta-human, with Cisco gaining a slight crush on her as he saw her picture, the group were able to find her by piggybacking onto Eiling's surveillance and learned that she's been looking for Dr. Harold Hadley as he's the man who performed several procedures on her as she was caught in a bomb explosion during the night the particle accelerator exploded and that's why she was looking for him, she and the good doctor are located in Inglewood, with Eiling and his men having her in their sights.

With said, Barry used his ring to summon his suit and once in it The Flash races out of STAR Labs and out into the city to stop Eiling and get to Bette before something bad happens.

Once there, he saw that Bette was talking to Dr.Harold about what happened to her and accused him and Eiling of turning her into what she is now. Speeding into the office Flash saw that Bette was about to hurt the doctor but as Flash sped into the room she was distracted by the sudden appearance of The Flash and as such was unable to defend herself from getting hit by a bullet that grazed her, courtesy of General Eiling and his men.

As Flash was checking on Bette to see if she was ok, he hear that Eiling's men were surrounding the building and the office. He then saw that a flash bang was thrown into the office from a window being crashed open so he picked up the flash bang and threw it back out to blind them. Once they were blind Flash picked up Bette and sped them both away from the building and back to STAR Labs with Flash promising her that he can help her understand her condition since it happened to him as well.

"We're nearing the ending where Eiling kills her and she turns into a literal human bomb that nearly destroys the city, I won't let that happen, not on my watch." Thought Barry.

Flash, still in his suit as he said he didn't want to reveal his identity to someone he just met, brought Bette back to STAR Labs where the group are telling her what happened ten months ago when the particle accelerator exploded and how she's been turned into a meta-human. She thought that Eiling did this to her but 'Dr.Wells' says Eiling isn't smart enough to pull something like this off. They asked what she was doing the night the accelerator exploded and she explained that she had just returned from Afghanistan where she was defusing bombs and that shrapnel ripped through her, and next thing she knew she became what almost killed her and Eiling's new lab rat.

Caitlin explained that dark matter must've combined with the bomb particulate in her body thus giving her the power to explode anything she touches.

As Caitlin was about to perform tests on Bette to determine how to help her she saw that Bette was shot and that there a tracker in her arm, alerting the others.

Flash had thought ahead and whisked away Bette, Cisco, Caitlin, and 'Dr.Wells' away from STAR Labs, went back to lockdown the pipeline, removed anything connecting Barry Allen as The Flash from their servers and disappeared from the Labs right as Eiling and his men showed up, when he saw that no one was there nor was there any evidence of any kind, he grew angry, wanting his asset back.

Flash went to where he moved the others, which was an abandoned warehouse near Central City.

"Flash, why did you take us from the labs and where did you move us to?" Said Dr.Wells".

"Dr. Snow said there was a tracker in her arm. Knowing Eiling was tracking her and was desperately trying to get her, I thought ahead and moved us from there to here where we can continue with our testing without interference and before I arrived I made sure to hide any evidence of us being there along with locking down your pipeline full of metas." Said Flash.

"You're welcome you ungrateful motherfucker, for someone who's supposed to be so smart you aren't thinking like the supposed genius you claim to be at the moment aren't you Thawne" Thought Flash rolling his eyes internally.

"Now then, you were conducting tests on Ms.San Souci were you not?" Said Flash.

Time Skip

After conducting a series of tests of how her powers work, Bette not wanting to keep her powers, asked if there was cure for the metas and to her distress and dismay, there isn't and she was told that even if there was, the shrapnel has merged with her body on a cellular level so even if there was a cure, it wouldn't work on her as she's stuck with her powers forever, which saddens her greatly as she's forever forced to wear these specialized created gloves to make sure she doesn't accidentally kill someone.

Flash, understanding her predicament a little bit, told her that while she didn't want to have these powers, she was chosen to have them for a reason like he was and if he can help with his own powers, then he's sure the she can do the same with her powers.

Bette, moved by his words wonders if she can really do the same thing he's done: be a hero.

Overwhelmed by everything that happened to her these past few days, she left saying how she needs some fresh air and a minute to herself.

Later on, Cisco and Caitlin, tired for the day had asked Flash to give them a ride home since he's the one who bought them there, he agreed and after they left the warehouse to go home for the night, 'Dr.Wells' however elected to stay and talk with Bette.

"Change is hard isn't it, the accident that gave you powers put in me this chair." Said 'Wells'.

"Im sorry-" Bette was saying but 'Wells' interrupted saying "I didn't tell you to garner your sympathy ms.Souci, sympathy that I don't need right now, no I told you to illustrate a point" Said 'Dr.Wells'.

"And that is?" Said Bette."

"Is that I would anything to get back what I lost, wouldn't you?" Said 'Dr.Wells', trying to manipulate her into killing Eiling.

"Yea...yea I would, I just don't know how." Said Bette

"You're a soldier Bette, you had a flock in the army right? Well this team? The Flash? They're your flock now and Eiling won't stop till he gets what he wants: you. You know your mission, kill Eiling, one last mission, and then you go home." Said 'Dr.Wells."

Bette, after some thinking, said nothing but walked away, determined to stop Eiling once and for all.

Time Skip

By time morning comes, Barry walked into STAR Labs to see Cisco, Caitlin, and 'Dr.Wells' in the cortex with no Bette in sight.

"Hey guys, where's Bette?"

"Thawne I swear to god if you sent her after Eiling and she dies after everything Ive tried to save her I will end you sooner then I expected" Thought Barry.

"She left" Said a depressed looking Cisco.

"What you mean she left, where did she go?"

She didn't say" Said 'Dr.Wells'.

"I'm gonna find her before Eiling does, Caitlin, I want you to check for any signs of her signature sighted anywhere in the city using her DNA and Cisco I want you to see if you can track her by using the STAR Labs satellite." Said Barry as he once more thrusts out his arm and on command out came his Flash suit, he sped into it and came sped out The Flash racing towards Central City, trying to find Bette before it's too late.

"Don't worry, Bette I wont let you die, I swear." Thought Flash as he continues speeding away through Central City.

"Barry, we found Bette, she's at the waterfront with Eiling and his men, get there before something bad happens" Said Cisco on coms with Caitlin and "Dr.Wells".

"Already on it." Said Flash and with that said he pushed himself to his maximum speed, hoping to get there in time to save Bette.

By the time Flash got there, he saw smoke surrounding the area indicating that Bette used her powers on Eiling and his men. Eiling's men are down and Bette herself is standing in front of Eiling ready to end it once and for all.

"Bette wait!" Said Flash as he arrived and stood in front of Eiling.

"What are you doing here Flash? Get out of my way" Said Bette wanting to kill Eiling.

"Ok, the moment is now here, all I gotta do is just talk her down, grab the bullet before it hits her and she'll live, it'll work out, it has to." Thought Flash.

"Bette, being a soldier does not mean you're a murderer, you don't have to do this, we can find another way." Said Flash.

"No, he won't stop unless he's dead, I have to do this Flash, now move out of my way or I'll make you move" Said Bette with her hands lighting showing she means business.

As they were talking/arguing, Eiling on the ground grabs his gun, aims at Bette and shoots, Flash grabs the bullet heading towards her and and Eiling passes out but he didn't account for one of Eiling's men to get up, grab his weapon and shot Bette, hitting her in her heart.

"NO!" Said a shocked Flash. Flash, furious at this turn of events, sped towards the man with the gun and knocked him out so hard he's going to have a concussion for a week, sped back to Bette and caught her before she could hit the ground and gently lowered her on the grassy area.

"I don't get it, none of the guys in the show tried to get up and shoot her, they were all unconscious! Why did this have to happen?! Damn it all!" Thought a furious Flash.

"Fla-flash" Said a dying Bette.

"Bette, I'm so sorry, I thought that-" Flash was saying but stopped as he wanted Bette to say her final words.

"Flash, it wasn't your fault, I'm glad you stopped me...Flash, it was Dr.Wells, he, he...ahh" breathed out Bette as she succumbed to her wounds and died.

"NO! This wasn't supposed to have happened this time, it was gonna be different! I promised to keep her alive!...and I failed her, I promised to help her and I failed her, Bette I'm so sorry" Thought a saddened and angered Flash.

As Flash ponders on about how he failed to save and help Bette, he saw that her body was glowing and knew what it meant.

"Shit...she's dead so her body's gonna blow up and take half of Central City with her unless I run her body across the water and dump it...Bette, please forgive me for what I'm bout to do." Thought Flash.

With that said he picked up her body and began to run on water for the first time and runs far away from the city, once far away he dumps her body in the water and as he starts running away her body explodes sending a shockwave of water towards the waterfront but as he nearly drowns he made it in time to the waterfront and now stopped to take a breather.

"No matter what I tried she still died, maybe her death was supposed to happen and no matter what I did it still happened...either way, Thawne and Eiing, when the time comes, you're both gonna regret messing with me."

With that said, The Flash sped off back to STAR Labs, determined to train his speed to get faster so what happened today will never happen again.

After stopping the meta-humans named Multiplex and The Mist and saving citizens of Central City I had thought I was doing a decent job but after the death of Bette Sans Souci, I decided that it's high time that I train my speed so I can go faster, what happened today shouldn't have happened and to prevent others from suffering the same fate I have to get faster then I went before, there dangers lurking in every corners of the city and even tho with my knowledge of how things will go down, I can't save everyone but I will try anyway as I am the only one fast enough to stop them. I am The Flash.
