Jack felt the drifting snow and cold evening breeze pattering heavily against his face as he glided. Weaving in-between the trees as he soured high above the forest as he went. The currents had gotten stronger and the snow began to fall rapidly from above. Though despite it all, Jack continued to search for Elsa. All but determined to rescue her from Pitch.
Jack paused for a moment, scanning the forest floor below. Only to suddenly be struck by a strong gust of wind which almost knocked him out of the air. Though was quick to catch himself from toppling to the forest floor. There was another sudden gust of wind, causing him to cover his face with his arm.
"The storm was getting worse. I have to find Elsa fast!" Jack said, peering overhead.
He then peered down, scanning the forest floor below for any sign of the entrance of Pitch's lair. He had remembered it well from last time. When Pitch had lured him away from North and the Guardians using the call of his lost younger sister. No doubt he had Elsa locked away in his palace of darkness.
But the currents of the falling now were too strong. He could hardly see anything through all this snow. Squinting his eyes, he continued to peer below. But still he saw nothing.
"Where are you hiding, Pitch?" Jack growled, shaking his head.
Jack pondered for a moment. Trying to remember just where it was that he last saw the entrance to Pitch lair. Suddenly, a gasp of realization escaped from his lips as it all came flooding back. Causing him to then turn and glid ahead through the forest and the raging storm continuing to search for Pitch's lair. Souring past the trees and against the currents of the frigid winter winds and snow.
It wasn't long before he came upon the very spot. The very spot where he last saw the tattered bed. And it was much to his relief, he found it was there like before. Jack floated down to the forest floor, where he walked over the old wooden bed. He came to stand above the entrance, peering down into the blacken abyss below. Holding his staff in his hands with a firm grip
"Hang on, Elsa" Jack said.
"Jack, wait!"
Jack paused for a moment. Glancing back, he saw North, Tooth, Bunny and Sandy emerge from the forest behind him. Having caught up to him from all the way from the pond. Jack turned to them.
"Don't try to stop me, North." Jack said, firmly.
Tooth fluttered up to him.
"But Jack... what if it's a trap? Pitch could be waiting for you!" Tooth insisted to him.
North nodded his head in agreement.
"She's right, Jack. Pitch is up to something very bad!" North insisted to them.
"Come on, Mate, think this through." Bunny said, along with a nod from Sandy.
Jack only turned back to the entrance. He then shook his head. Their insistence of it being trap hardly fazed Jack in anyway. Regardless if Pitch was waiting for him below, he would deal with him as well. He wasn't about let anything stop him from saving Elsa.
"What's there to think about? Elsa is down there and for all we know in danger!" He insisted to them.
"I wouldn't forgive myself if anything happens to her. I won't leave her."
"Yes, Yes, I know. But you cannot afford to do this!" North insisted, much to Jack's disbelief.
"Not alone."
Jack shifted his glanced back to North, who nodded his head to them. He then cocked his head, glancing back at Bunny, Tooth and Sandy. The three of them all nodded their heads to him.
"Aye, we're with you all the way, mate. No way we're letting Pitch get away with this" Bunny insisted, giving Jack a small salute.
Tooth nodded her head in agreement.
"We're going to get her back, Jack. Together." Tooth insisted to him.
Sandy floated up into the air as she nodded his head to him. Jack smiled back at his fellow Guardians. Seeing them willing to follow him into the darkness to save Elsa. Turning back to face the entrance to Pitch's lair, he stared down into the darkness without fear and anguish. Rather with the same look of determination to save Elsa. His fellow Guardians standing by his side.
"Let's go!" Jack said.
With that, he then leaped down into the hole.
"Here we go!" North proclaimed, drawing both his swords.
The Large burly man then leaped down into the hole. Leaving Bunny to gazed down, gulping nervously, Only to feel the gust of the of wind, causing him to shudder.
"Better then being out here. Oh, carrots!" Bunny said before hoping into the hole.
"Let's go, girls!" Tooth said as she and her fairs flew down into the hole.
Sandy formed an umbrella in his hand and a small hat before leaping up and floating down in the hole.
Jack landed over the very bottom, holding his staff at the ready for any of Pitch's Nightmares. North landed behind him with his swords held firmly in his hands. Bunny landed opposite of him, drawing his boomerangs. Just as Tooth and Sandy also came down from above. The Guardians turned back to gaze down the dark pathway.
"I don't like this..." Bunny said, glancing back at Jack and the others.
Tooth's fairies all shuddered nervously. Quickly hiding behind Tooth, who turned back to them. Tooth and Sandy glanced to each other.
"They are still a bit shaken up from last time." She insisted to them.
Jack stepped forward, his fixed gaze directed down the tunnel itself. He then squinted his eyes before dashing off into the tunnel. Much to the dismay of North and the others
"Jack wait!" North said, following after him.
Jack emerged from the tunnel, coming to stand over the edge overlooking the entirety of Pitch's dark Lair. As North and the others caught up to him, the Guardians came to gaze upon the lair itself. The sight alone gave a feeling of unease. Especially Tooth's fairies at the sight of the large cages that hung above. Giving a small squeal, they quickly hid back behind Tooth.
"So...this is where Pitch had been hiding all these years." Bunny said, gazing upon his layer.
Sandy gave a nervous glance to them, shuddering.
"You said it, Sandy." Bunny said
North stepped forward with an inquisitive gaze. The supposed layer of the Boogeyman seemed rather familiar to the burly man.
"Can it be?" North said.
"What is it, North...?" Tooth asked, curiously.
North would not utter a word the moment that followed. Continuing to stare out over Pitch's domain, seeming curious at first glance. Only for the realization to then set it. Causing North to widened his eyes in a frighted realization as to where they were.
"I know this place..." North insisted, turning back to face them.
His fellow Guardians all shared a curious glance to him. That was, all except for Jack, who continued to stare out over Pitch's lair. He hardly cared about what North had said. Nor what this place was. His only concern was Elsa and getting her back. But she could hardly see anything from where they were. He needed to get a better view.
Jack shifted his gaze up at the cages which hung from above. suddenly leaped forward as he flew off ahead. North and the others glanced up at Jack as he flew off toward the cages above.
"Come on!" Jack called to them.
North nodded before leaping down to a stairway below as Bunny, Tooth and Sandy followed after. Leaping from cage to another, Jack peered below as he searched for Elsa. Unannounced to him, that he was being watched by Pitch's Nightmares hiding within the shadows. Jack perched himself over the top of one of the cages, where he proceeded to call out for Elsa.
"Elsa!" Jack called out for her.
Elsa pulled desperately as she tried to escape from the chains over her hands. When suddenly she heard Jack's voice calling out for her. She gasped, turning back in awe.
"Jack...?" She said, worryingly.
"Looking for Elsa?"
Followed by a conniving chuckled which was heard by North and the other Guardians. The four paused, standing at the ready for anything. Jack was snapped to attention by the sound of Pitch's voice. A voice which brought him feeling of anger and contempt, glancing back with a stern expression. Leaping down from the cage above, Jack came to land over the platform below, holding his staff at the ready.
"Where is she?" Jack said.
The tall figure in Black slowly emerged from the shadows behind Jack. Circling around Jack with a cocky grin over his pale grey face.
"Not to worry. She's safe here." Pitch insisted to him.
Jack turned back to face him, pointing the end of his staff at him.
"At least... for as long as she proves useful to me." Pitch proclaimed to him.
Jack raised his staff, seemingly about to blast Pitch with his icy magic. The notion that Pitch had harmed her in anyway brought a surge of anger to the young winter sprite. With nothing in the way to stop him from doing so. That was all except for Elsa wellbeing.
"Let her go...!" Jack said.
Though his gesture of threat was met with a chuckle from Pitch.
"I would have never figured you for the type, Jack. Does she really mean that much to you?" Pitch asked, glancing back to her.
"I mean, if you truly cared for her. You would do anything to ensure her well being."
Jack continued to stare back at Pitch with the same angered gaze. Only for it to the soften the moment that followed, causing him to lower his staff. Just as he did for Baby Tooth. All but proving to Pitch that his suspicions were so of Jack's feelings for the snow queen. Causing him to turn forward with a conniving grin over his face.
"So... you really do care for her. How... adorable..." Pitch said.
His glanced then shifted over to one of his Nightmares, who slowly emerged from the shadows. Slowly creeping out of the darkness toward Jack, who remained unaware of the Nightmare. That was, except for North, who came up over the top of the stairway, where he spotted the Nightmare from above.
"Jack, watch out!" He called to him.
Jack cocked his up at North, snapped to attention by his warning. It was right at that moment, the Nightmare lunged in attack of it's prey. Jack turned bjack in the nick of time, spotting the incoming Nightmare coming up from behind. Only for North to leap down from above and slice the Nightmare in two with his swords, causing it to disburse.
Pitch growled, turning back to strike Jack with his black sanded scythe. Only for Jack to turned back to Pitch, blasting his icy magic with his staff. The icy blast stuck the black scythe from Pitch's hands. Jack attempted to blast Pitch again with his staff. Only for Pitch to block the incoming surge of magic with his black sand.
"Get them, you fools!" Pitch exclaimed before slinking back into the Shadows.
The Nightmares all emerged from the shadows as they sprang in attack. Circling around both Jack and North over the platform. The two Guardians came to face the surrounding Nightmares with their weapons in hand.
The Nightmares swarmed the stairway where Bunny, Tooth and Sandy were standing. Bunny held up his boomerangs, twirling them in his hands.
"What's the matter, Pitch? Too scared to face us on your own?" Bunny said.
It was then they heard a horses neigh from behind. Turning back, they saw one of the Nightmares galloping toward them. Only for Bunny to fling his boomerang at them. The boomerang struck the Nightmare causing it to disburse. Upon catching it, Bunny lunged forward as he continued to swipe at the other Nightmares. Tooth and her fairies joined in to the fight, souring through the crowd of Nightmares, which all were cut down by her swords.
Sandy rose up into the air over a sandy cloud, where he proceeded to whip at the Nightmares.
Elsa continued to pull on her chains. She shifted her gaze back, where she saw several light blue flashes. It had to be Jack and the other Guardians and it looked like they were in trouble.
"Jack!" she called out for him.
Jack and North fought off the Nightmares from over the plate form below. North swiping his two swords at the Nightmares who came at him. Upon cutting down the black sanded horses, the large burley man gave a loud jolly laugh.
"Come on! Come at Me!" Not proclaimed, holding each sword to his sides.
All the while, Jack continued to swipe his staff at the Nightmares. Sticking each of them with his icy magic. He then flew up into to air, blasting more of the Nightmares. When suddenly he heard a familiar voice, calling out his name.
"Jack!"
Jack paused, gazing off in the direction of the voice that could not be mistaken for anyone else. The winter sprite then flew off toward the sound of Elsa's voice. Swiping his staff at the incoming Nightmares who attempted to get in the way. It wasn't long before he found Elsa, chained up over the platform.
"Elsa!" Jack Proclaimed.
Elsa glanced up to see Jack hovering above her. Much to her awe and relief.
"Jack!" she said.
Suddenly, several Nightmares emerged from the shadows around the Snow Queen. The Nightmares each charged up at Jack, much to the snow queens dismay.
"Jack, watch out!" Elsa called out to him.
Acting Quickly, Jack quickly swerved out of the way of one of the Nightmares. He then swiped his staff at the other, causing it to disburse. Jack the attempted to blast another, only to be struck by the Nightmare which sent him flying back.
"Jack!" Elsa exclaimed from below.
Though Jack was quick to recover, turning back to face the other Nightmares, swarming him from all around.
"Jack!" Elsa sobbed, helpless to save the man she loved.
There was a sudden frosting sound Elsa knew all too well. Upon glancing down at the chains, she saw frost began to form over the black metal bindings. Just as they did all those years ago. Ceasing her chance, Elsa continued to pull over her chains in an effort to break free.
Her gaze shifted back up at Jack, who was becoming overwhelmed by the Nightmares. But there was little she could do for him at this time. She needed to help him. Break free of the chains that confined her.
Turning back down to her chains, she saw that her powers have covered their entirety with Frost. Elsa gave one last pull with all the strength she could muster. The chains gave but a moment of further of retainment. However, it was Elsa's will to break free and love for Jack that came to free her from the chains. Shattering to pieces over the platform as Elsa came free from them.
Elsa gave a sigh of relief before then turning back up at Jack, who continued fighting off the Nightmares.
Jack swiped his staff as he struck down one of the Nightmares. He then attempted to blast at one of the Nightmares with his staff. But the Nightmare managed to evade his icy blast before pouncing at him. Jack was left with little time to act, raising his staff to blast it with his magic. Though it proved to be too late as the Nightmare was now upon him, about to attack.
When suddenly, the Nightmare was struck from below by a bolt of ice magic. Jack gazed down, where he saw that it was Elsa, having gotten free from her chains. Jack flew down to her, landing over the platform.
"Elsa, are you alright..." Jack said, quickly rushing up to her.
Before Jack could say anything more, Elsa came into his arms. Clinging to him tightly as if her very life depended on it. Jack in turn glanced down her, feeling her trembling.
"Oh, Jack... I knew you'd come for me." Elsa said with much fear in her voice.
Jack smiled, wrapping his arm around.
"Don't thank me yet, snowflake. Come on, let's get you out of here." Jack said.
The two suddenly heard a sound from above. Turning to gaze above, they saw more Nightmares galloping from above. Seeming to be making their way over to North and the others. Jack then turned back to Elsa.
"Hang on to me." Jack said, holding her close.
Jack then turned forward before leaping into the air as he flew them back to safety. Unannounced to them of Pitch, who was watching from the shadows, chuckling with a sly grin.
"It's time to settle an old score, Jack..." Pitch proclaimed.
