Chapter 3: First Steps To Become A Hero
At first it was hours, then days. Then it got to the point where it was nearly a week and a half that had passed since I finished the entrance exam.
'I'm really starting to lose hope here that I am going to get in. Should I have gone to try and get into Shiketsu instead?' I wonder while lying on the couch in the living room.
As I continue watching an interview with Cementoss, a knock comes from across the house. "Coming! I'm on my wa-ugh!" As I rush to the door I trip and hit my head on a table. After I get up, I hear a person walking away.
"Great, just my own clumsy luck" As I open the door though, there is a small package just outside my door.
No-Ones POV
While Ikuye was away, the TV flickered with a skull appearing along with two mirrors, before going back to the Cementoss interview.
'Well I guess the world isn't ALWAYS against me.' I think as I pick up the package and head inside, sitting back down on the couch and opening what arrived while I continue to watch the interview.
"These days, true heroes are needed more than ever with the rising crime, which is why for the past few years I have been working at U.A" The voice of Cementoss comes from the TV.
'And that right there is why I need to get into U.A, seeing my idol would be my dream, and to be taught by him? Oh God please give me that chance.'
As I open the package out comes a small metal disk, which I tap a few times with nothing happening.
"Is this some kinda dud? huh?" As I say that the disk whirrs to life and a holograph appears. With some weird guy with goggles almost looking into my soul.
"Congratulations Ikuye Toda, you have passed the U.A. Entrance Examination with 41 villain points and 20 rescue points. These rescue points were a secret that were scored through rescuing and helping others, like a true hero would. Your act of saving Toru Hagakure gained you those points." I gape at the homeless looking guy in awe, before he continues.
"This scores places you in joint 6th position, though you are 7th on the technicality of having a lower villain point score. Welcome to your Hero Academia, Toda."
...
"WOOOHOOOO" I scream continuously.
This screaming went on for an hour.
"Oh right, the hobo mentioning Hagakure reminds me, I need to message her so she has my number."
I look around, realizing I don't know where my phone is. 'I just broke one, I can't be losing a second one already' I think as sweat drips down my forehead.
"Well, I did trip earlier so it's probably there." I look down and with no surprise I see my phone lying face up under the table I hit my head on.
Inputting Hagakure's number off memory was hard, as it has been some time since we talked.
I ring the number instead since it is easier. "Hello? Who is this?" Comes a bubbly voice full of energy.
'Why does she have so much energy? Really not needed' "Hey Hagakure, it's Toda"
"Oh Hi Toda, has your results from U.A. come yet? Mine did so I'm pretty pumped" She says as sounds almost like crashing is heard in the background of the call.
"Yeah, mine came too. Is everything alright over there? Didn't sound too good at all"
"I GOT IN TODA! I got into U.A.!" She shouts as in the call I also hear another voice "Toru Hagakure keep it down miss!"
'Jesus, I hope her whole family don't have so much energy' I jinx myself as the invisible girl mentions to the other person that she got into U.A.
I now know to have earplugs on hand anytime I see or hear a member of the Hagakure family.
After practically a month, the day had finally come. I was heading to U.A.
"Oi brat! Oh you are up already." The head of the Toda house bluntly said. "Yep, can't be late on my first day training to be a hero now can I? Would not be very hero like of me, would it geezer?" I sarcastically talk back to my dad.
"Alright tiny, don't be getting any ideas of becoming cheekier now that you are starting to go up in the world. In here I am still your dad."
'God, talk about serious' "Gotcha daddy-o, loud and clear" I remark saluting to him.
"Get moving then champ, do your old man proud."
I sprint out the door to head to U.A.
"Got it dad! I'll be the best!" Slamming the door.
I walk back in and grab my bag before leaving, all in silence.
Arriving at U.A, I have to look up at practically everything on the way to the classroom.
'God damn it, why couldn't I have gotten the old man's size along with his chatty behavior.'
Suddenly, I get jumped and I feel a weight dragging me down before I fall over. As I get back up I look around frantically for a few minutes, before collecting a face of embarrassment.
"Oh wait, it's you Hagakure." As I say this a bundle of clothes hop out from behind a bush before falling over and rolling flat on her... face?
'I can't tell with this girl, it's impossible.'
"Hey Toda!" she says as she stands up quickly. "What class are you in?" "I'm in 1-A, how about you Hagakure?"
"Me too! Oh these 3 years are going to be so fun!" excited shouts come from the invisible girl.
"Oh yes. So much fun." I smile weakly
'OH GOD I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS ENERGY FOR 3 YEARS?' I mentally crumble under the temporary stress.
"Lets get going to our room then ghost girl." I joke "DONT CALL ME GHOST GIRL!"
As we enter the classroom, chaos is seen as a blonde boy argues with a guy with glasses 'Hot-head and Strict guy, got it.'
alongside them there is a group of 4 chatting away, before becoming 5 when Hagakure runs over to them. Finally, a dual-haired boy sits alone.
'Guess I'll head over to him' I think while walking towards the red and white-haired boy. But, as I get close I feel a freezing aura.
'Yeah. Nevermind I'm having a nap.'
I am woken by a feeling of immense danger.
As I look up I see the hobo from the holograph acceptance looking me in my eyes.
"Hobo is that you? Thanks for accepting me into U.A." I say tiredly.
The class goes silent.
Oh.
Shit.
"Well, looks like we have frontrunner for the biggest problem child already. Get changed into your gym uniforms and start moving we are going outside."
'Great, he hates me now.'
We make our way over to the field and I walk to a bunch of floating clothes.
"Hey Hagakure, what is our teachers name? I seriously need it otherwise I'll be in so much worse trouble."
"You dummy Toda, how did you manage to fall asleep for so long? He is Aizawa-sensei and he is our homeroom teacher."
We stop, and Aizawa starts talking. "Today we are going to do the same physical tests you all did in school but you can all now use your quirks."
'Oh cool, should be a good opportunity to show what I've got. Maybe I will even get back into a good light with Mister Aizawa.'
I tune back into what everyone is saying and I hear complaints about how someone shouldn't be expelled.
'...What did I miss?'
The tests come and go, with me getting pretty average scores on everything except for the grip test, where I make two massive rocks and smash them together into the tester, snapping the object. Then it comes to the ball throw to finish it off.
"Right, last up to throw is Toda. Lets see what you can do problem child." Mister Aizawa says to me tiredly.
'Why does it feel like we are actually pretty similar?'
I step up to the edge of the area to prepare throwing the ball, before I turn around. "Hey Shoji, can you throw the ball upwards for me?"
"You can't get another person to throw the ball for you Toda, are you really that problematic?" Our homeroom teacher says.
"No sir, I have an idea." As Shoji walks up to me and grabs the ball, I punch my hands into the floor, going deep before pulling out a bat almost like the floor turned into liquid while I put my hand down.
"Batter up Shoji! I'm ready." As the multi-armed student threw the ball I hit it dead-center, with it flying high into the sky before disappearing out of sight for a moment in the sun.
"Hooome Run!" I shout and I turn to Aizawa.
"Not bad. 800 meters dead on."
Right, so there you have it, that is chapter 3 finished! Finally managed to make a chapter a bit longer, which is an absolute life-saver.
Of course this is just the starting point of the MHA series so there really isn't much I can make without using 200% of my small brain to figure things out, but I think this is good in itself. Although there was another glitch in a screen around Ikuye Toda. Hmm I really do wonder what it could mean.
Anyways, Piko out! Peace!
